The hotel room was very nice and clean. We could tell that it had been recently renovated. Free coffee in the lobby all day was a nice touch.
KAYAKs site clearly stated that the parking was free but when we checked in, the hotel staff said that the parking is never free. I am currently going back and forth trying to get reimbursed for the parking that I had to pay for. Had I known that I would have had to pay for parking, I would have stayed elsewhere. Especially since the parking lot was not covered and the hotel is located in an extremely active nightclub area. I worried about my car the whole time and the management was rude to me when I tried to explain my issue.
Very good location and good deal for the money.
It might not be a good place for families being above a bar and night club and on the busiest party street in Vancouver.
The downtown location was excellent, good price, clean, and friendly/helpful staff. The beds were very comfortable.
The rooms needed some updating: a fresh coat of pain on the walls, maybe some new furniture. Everything seemed a little worn. The hotel is also right above a bar and close to several night clubs, which meant a lot of noise and light from the street at night.
We were looking for a place to spend our last night in Vancouver after being at a marquee hotel for a conference for a few days. The room was small but clean and comfortable, so it perfectly matched our expectations. Free wi-fi and a 20% discount at the pub downstairs were bonuses.
This hotel was an excellent value for money one. I even got an upgrade without asking for it and don't even knowing why to a king-size room with hydro-massage bath tub. The staff was extremely helpful and willing to make one's stay pleasant and flawless. Even if some people in the reviews complain about the pub, I didn't hear anything from the second floor. Even more, the inside door linking the pub with the hotel was an advantage given the snow/rain during my stay.
Complimentary breakfast was missed.
It was perfect for what we were looking for. We didn't intend to stay in the hotel for anything more than sleep, so we just wanted a clean, well-maintained hotel with a central location in downtown. It was by a wide margin the best hotel I could find in this price range. The staff was incredibly friendly and always willing to help you find where you are going.
The room was small and the hotel didn't offer many extras, though that wasn't important to us anyway. The internet was far from "high speed" (about 2 Mbps at best) but for what I hear, thats about average in BC.
Bed was comfortable
Opened the curtains to find the hostel next door looked right into our room, hence had to have the curtains closed the entire stay. Wouldn't feel safe staying there as a single traveller.
easy walking distance to attractions and good breakfast
not sure about the area did not always feel comfortable out walking
Did not like being in a room next to the ice machine which was being used until the early hours of the morning.
It was close to all the amenities I needed for my stay.
A loud humming sound was coming from the bathroom and I can only guess that it was a condensing unit for the heatpump. No bath fan either. No dedicated parking or underground parking.
very nice room modernly decorated
small deluxe room
