When we arrived we found out that we had booked a handicapped room that had no bathtub, and we really like to soak in a tub. The hotel switched us to a different room that had a tub with no extra charge. It was wonderful.
We stayed for one night at this property while visiting our daughter at Grand Valley State University. The good things were that it was clean; the bed was comfortable; and the room was quiet, even though we were right by the elevator. We didn't eat breakfast there, but the coffee was nice and strong. The room had a fridge and microwave, and the wi-fi was easy to use. This property is rated at 3 stars, but I would only give it 2.5 because the towels were frayed, we ran out of tissues, and the lights in the parking lot shine right into the windows. It was not much of a bargain given the less-than-three-stars quality and the fact that I had to pay up front, not knowing which hotel I was actually booking at. We might stay here again if the price is right, but I'd try other nearby properties before booking here again.
We reserved a 2 room suite (2 queen beds in one room with a pull out couch in the other). It was very nice and clean. We have 4 children so it was nice to be able to have 2 rooms. This gave us 2 bathroom plus 2 tv's. The breakfast was very nice. The hotel is right off the highway so it was very easy to get in and out. The entrance is a little different - you have to drive past a gas station and drive past and behind a Quaity Inn.
This was my first time at the Baymont Inn in a while. The front desk guy seemed as though I was bothering him when I checked in but everything else was great. The room had been re-done and it was so nice and comfortable with plenty of space. Breakfast was hot and plenty of options. It was a great getaway for my friends and I. It's also the perfect location! The girl at the front desk upon checking out was VERY nice. I'll definitely stay again.
THis was the first time I tried the 'secret' priced hotel. It was more than I expected. I will do that again. Saved money and had a great place to stay
Staff welcoming upon arrival; Room clean, however not all amenities were present, and linen quality was poor; Corrective action taken after multiple concerns expressed. May utilize again based on proximity to desired location.
The staff is always more then friendly. The room was clean, the kinens and towels smelled fresh. It was well worth the money. I plan on using the again in the future.
I CHOSE THIS HOTEL BECAUSE IT WAS CLOSE TO MY DAUGHTERS HOME AND MY DAUGHTER AND HUSBAND WERE DOING REMODELING TO THEIR PLACE AND IT WAS CONVENIENT FOR ME TO STAY AT A HOTEL RATHER THAN AT MY DAUGHTERS HOME. IT WAS ENJOYABLE AND MY DAUGHTER CAME AND STAYED WITH ME A COUPLE OF NIGHTS ALSO. MY HUSBAND WAS NOT WITH ME ON THIS TRIP AS HE WAS WORKING AND I JUST NEEDED TO SPEND SOME TIME WITH MY DAUGHTER. IT WORKED OUT REAL WELL. I WOULD STAY HERE AGAIN ON FUTURE TRIPS AS I FEEL MORE COMFORTABLE NOW STAYING AT A HOTEL RATHER THAN STAYNG AT MY DAUGHTER AND SON-IN-LAWS RESIDENCE.
My stay was really enjoyable. The room was clean and although the bed was too hard for me it was still a good mattress. The pool was clean and I got to enjoy it once however, weekends seem to be for kids free for all in the pool. Moms bring their kids plus their kids friends and so there's a LOT of kids and splashing and I'm a lap swimmer so I couldn't do what I like to do and then at the end of the day I didn't want to swim late after that many youngsters had been in the pool all day. Still a great stay, the breakfast lay out was generous and well done and it felt like the staff took pride in their hotel and it showed.
This place is fine. I was in town for the Beer Festival and it was one of the few places left that wasn't booked. It is clean and comfortable enough, not lavish, but I have no complaints for the price.
We have stayed at Baymont Inn and Suites Grand Rapids N/Walker many times, including three different times in 2010. We will be staying there again in March of 2011. The staff is very welcoming, helpful, and informative. The hotel is very well maintained and the guestrooms are well equipped including a refrigerator and microwave. In the lobby are a computer and printer available for guest use. The indoor pool and whirlpool are a nice size and kept in good working order. Breakfast is offered every morning and most Tuesdays and Wednesdays the Baymont has a manager’s dinner. The hotel is conviently located by a major expressway and only a couple miles from a good shopping and restaurant area. (Alpine Ave)
Nice place and pretty clean. Some of the exercise equipment didn't work.
Stay was good. A nice quite hotel, decent morning breakfast, nice complimentary suppers on Tuesday and Wednesday nights, decent pool and hot tub, microwave and fridge in every room, nice workout center (except the treadmill was junk, and the TV volume was messed up.) Hotel is <10 mins from downtown, you can take the interstate or the more scenic Walker Avenue. I was stayed at the hotel 2 weeks while doing an internship downtown. Had no problems.
When I first got this room online (a supposedly 'three-star' hotel for $*), I was hugely excited. But when I arrived I was horrified at the accommodations and especially the treatment from the staff. I had called ahead to arrange early check-in, because I had a business meeting to attend in the afternoon. I had also specifically requested a room away from the pool area, as I had a lot of work to do later in the evening, and did not wish to be disturbed by possible noise. I was told on the phone if I did not like the room assigned, I could upgrade for $10 more to a room on the floor of my choice upon arrival. Not only were there NO rooms ready upon my 2:30pm arrival (usual check-in is 3pm) , it took them AN EXTRA HOUR to call Housekeeping and get one cleaned, making me nearly an hour late for my meeting. Also, they booked me in an awful room literally RIGHT NEXT TO THE POOL, which was crowded with loud children all evening. When I asked for an upgrade, the manager told me the rest of the rooms in the hotel were $*+ rooms, so he couldn't give any of them to me for the $* upgrade. He basically shrugged his shoulders and said 'You get what you pay for.' As if all this wasn't enough, I woke the next morning to find hundreds of ANTS crawling all over my bathroom floor! When I went to the desk to complain, the clerk told me...'Yeah, we're remodeling, so that's been a problem in several rooms.' No shock--not even an apology. Do yourself a favor, and pay the extra $* for a decent hotel. The rooms here are disgusting, and the staff is even more appalling.
