This hotel is located very close to the casino and most of the downtown restaurants. The staff was very friendly and helpful with their information to public transportation services and recommended restaurants.
The breakfast was nothing special. It had only bread and various jams, which was just good enough for a holdover before lunch. The only other thing I didn't like was the noisy heater.
The ample sized room was clean and cheery, tucked in a corner of the hotel. Bathroom was clean and well stocked. Bed was comfortable with a choice of pillows. Internet connection was good. Recycling bin is present in room! I was greeted by a very friendly, helpful woman when I checked in shortly after midnight. Since the hotel's restaurant was being remodeled she told me where I could get a good breakfast, and she was right. It was great. The daytime front desk attendant let me know that my friend had stopped by to see me, so we were able to connect quickly. There's a nice little park across the street, next to the river, and downtown Detroit is visible across the river. It's very close to the casino and to the tunnel to Detroit.
I would have enjoyed having a view of downtown Detroit and the river. I forgot to request that when I checked in, so I can't really blame the hotel. I could not find blinds to close out the light of the morning, so just wore my eye shades.
No frills great place to stay if you are going to Detroit or Windsor. We loved it and will be back again.
The hotel room was dirty (sheets, shades, bath tub, stained floors). The staff was less than enthusiastic to help me and threw hidden charges (parking/extra room key) onto my bill that were not described or made aware of before check out.
Definitely worth the price. The hotel was clean and even though we had a smoking room it didn't smell like smoke which was great! Great location if you're going to the casino.
I liked the location - it was right by the water and in the downtown core and so close to lots of amenities.
Staff were not friendly - the woman at the front desk was almost openly hostile, not at all friendly or approachable. Even when talking cheerfully about my travel she was openly dismissive to the point of rudeness. At one point I had to excuse myself to use the washroom, she left my Visa sitting out in open view on the counter while she walked away to the other side of the desk. The room itself was very musty and smelled unclean. The blankets smelled unwashed and had to be taken off the beds - they had very clearly not been washed in quite some time. The television was old and the remote did not work which meant limited channels. I have stayed in many different hotels in many different countries but never have I been in a room so dirty
city was friendly and had a great downtown for resturants and pubs
The hotel was close to the border and the casino.
I would have appreciated a complimentary breakfast. The mattress in out room was extremely poor and uncomfortable. The door to the room vibrated and we needed to stick a towel in it to stop the noise from other people using their doors.
The location was great and the staff were helpful.
The walls of the room looked like they had been through a war. There was a giant poorly patched hole in one of the walls and the wallpaper was peeling off.
Peope were great.
Hard to find parking. Matter of fact I had to park somewhere else
Pamela the front desk lady who took care of us right through checkout was excellent and very very helpful in pointing out local points of interest and was very friendly.
It was quiet, comfortable and the staff were very helpful considering the hour I arrived.
Nothing that the hotel could have prevented as there is construction going on across the road.
I liked the closeness of the hotel to the city's downtown area. It was convenient.
Even though the booking online did not show up, they got me a room at the price that I was quoted
