Car was filthy at pickup. “Maintenance required” indicator light every time car was started. Flat tire I had to resolve on my own. Paid for Premium (“Maxima or similar) and was assigned mid-sized Rav4.8.0 Very good

At drop off point a mile from airport we were going to have to get a ride to the airport. The agent told us we could drop the car at the airport and save us from getting a ride. He was very friendly and helpful.Cons:

Being up front with their fees, I went in with the misguided notion that my reservation would be honored at the amount agreed on. Instead I was charged my reservation amount with an additional “company policy fee” of $400 on top of what I was already paying for the actual rental. My $300 rental had now come out to over $700. I almost missed my own mother’s funeral. Thank you for your service Alamo!6.0 Okay

I was on a tight schedule. I just had to make the 45 minute ride up to Flagstaff to pick up the rental. It took about 1 1/2 hrs - and why?? Because the WRONG STREET ADDRESS is on Google! WTH !! AVIS.... Did you ever hear the expression: "Get your kicks on State Route 66". ?? NOOOOO It's: "Get your kicks on Route 66" !! How long has this expression been around?!?! Holy mole! Can you PLEASE change the darn address? C'monnnaaa7.2 Good

Cons:
Reserved a premium car but they did not have one available when we arrived. We were offered the next level down -- a full size -- but with no adjustment in the rate (which was already very low, admittedly). We were told that the small, privately-owned Flagstaff location usually did not have premium cars and that they had advised Avis that the booking system needed to be adjusted to reflect this, without results. We were advised to contact Avis directly if we wished to pursue a rate reduction.9.6 Wonderful

Made a reservation online and confirmed over the phone. When I showed up to pick up my car the lady at the desk rudely told me that she could not give me a car for a one way rental because she didn't want to lose her inventory. She told me corporate, where I made my reservation has no idea what her situation is. She was not apologetic and did not offer to help in any way. I will never use budget for anything again.6.8 Okay

pickup process was confusing and lacked clear direction. had to pickup at offsite facility, had to pay for a taxi to pick up since location at airport was closed at 6:00 p.m. missed car until the morning when opened. when picking up car at different location, check in process was slow, as there was only 1 person working at location. would never use budget, and maybe kayak as my initial questions were dodged and they told me to contact kayak, which was not available either to answer some basic questions, i should have been able to speak to a rep at kayak also. i was on my own!!not a good feeling8.0 Very good

Friendly staff helped us get on our way. Due to dealer service display, staff rechecked car for fluids and tires and service records to make sure car service was reasonably current.Cons:
Vehicle showed it needed dealer service, wasn't quite sure we would be stranded in 110F Phoenix weather.10.0 Wonderful

When I called in to confirm my reservation, I was briefly put on hold. I obviously started singing along to the hold music, and when the guy came back on, he told me it sounded great. The rest of my visit was just as good. They told me exactly what I needed to know and talked to me as if I was an intelligent human. They also gave me an upgrade.10.0 Wonderful

Customer service at the counter was great-- very friendly and helpful staff! I ended up getting a much nicer car than I had originally reserved due to low inventory at the same price as my original rental. The car was absolutely perfect and I had a blast enjoying the freedom it gave me while I was on my trip.Cons:
The underage driver charge is rough, but that was to be expected. Additionally, there wasn't very much flexibility in drop off location for a cancelled flight-- driving the car from FLG to PHX would have doubled the cost of my rental just to turn the car in at a different location.Eagle Rent A Car
