You need a taxi from the train station because of the luggage but the position is close to the city centre and there is some very nice pub near the hotel
Everything was ok, no lack in this hotel
Everything was pleasant even though a major renovation was ongoing it did not interfere or make the stay unplesant. Close to downtown York or a bus stop about 100 yds away. Don't use the pub across the street-very unpleasat owner/staff. Better down the street-an easy walk.
Staff was very helpful. Breakfast was plentiful and very good. Greaqt location for all York attractions.
We liked the warm welcome by the staff, the interest of the two girls in the wedding we were attending and the good breakfasts each morning. It was naturally friendly - genuine without being over-the-top. It is well placed for walking into town,.It was quiet and the room was nicely set out with plenty of room to store everything and move around. The Tv was good too.
Parking at rear. Good breakfast.
A small bedroom with no flat screen tv in sight - rather an antiquated portable. There was no i-pod dock either. Poor quality of towels - could do with replacing. Breakfast room was a mix of old and new furniture.
Staff on phone on arrival, private call; smell - musty and dirty; room far too small; poorly furnished, stains on sheets; inoperative fan in shower/toilet room; mould at ceiling joint in shower/toilet room; inadequate options in event of fire (1 only).
Towel handrail broken
Good level of cleanliness friendly and competent staff good breakfast not noisy very good location for us between the city centre and the University. Excellent array of information leaflets in the reception area.
Bed too small for us (hotels we have stayed in over the last few years have tended to provide a Kingsize as standard. Dreadful coffee (but the pot of tea was good) generally shabby our room was over-furnished for its size.
Smelly, mildew in the bathroom, dirty and dusty
