Just a mile from York city centre (and the many attractions you'll find there), lies BEST WESTERN York Pavilion Hotel. This beautifully appointed Grade II listed Georgian country house is located away from the hustle and bustle to ensure a peaceful night's sleep, but close enough to the museums, walls, parks and shops that make this ancient city so appealing. York Minster and the free Railway Museum are both a mile away, the racecourse is two miles away and Leeds, Harrogate and Knaresborough lie a little further afield for yet more shops! And getting to these points of interest could not be easier, with free parking making travel by road a relaxing reality, and a ten minute bus service or a calming riverside walk providing equally easy alternatives. And when you return, our friendly and welcoming staff will provide memorable service that'll make you feel utterly at home! Enjoy your stay.
Handy to be outside York in intetntion to go into the town centre. The restaurant was cosy with a log fire
Terrible rooms. I could hear peple snoring and going to the toilet all night form nearby adjoining rooms. Staff did not seem very helpful (spilled drinks in the bar and got breakfast order wrong)
All are good except the comment in the next box.
The temperature was too low and I could not sleep well during the night. I then checked the radiator and found no heating.
I loved the Olde Worlde feel of the building and also all the original features that had been kept
Everything was Ok until we went for Breakfast on the Sunday, went down at 9.15am there was a queue, went back to our room for 20 minutes, and went down again at 9.35 there was still a queue, I have never stopped in a Hotel and had to queue for Breakfast, we were refunded our £10 without a problem but I really feel there should be more seating area for the number of bedrooms.
We went for a meal as special occasion the food was very good and the whole experience was excellent
everything - very good
the hotel its self was very nice.
the long walk into york. said only ten minutes. but its ten minuets to the river and another 15 into town. but on a nice day would be ok. nice river walk
Proximity to York centre.
Service at breakfast, insufficient food if you went down at 9.00 (breakfast .037.00-9.30 ) and repeated requests for toast and coffee ignored so that we reached the 9.30 deadline and then told "breakfast is only served until 9.30 !!"!
noisy with private functions at the weekend chaotic Sunday breakfast, not enough room for self service breakfast.
The room was superb. Dinner was a treat, splendid menu and wel cooked.
Service at breakfast time was not as good as it could be.
lovely location, great staff, the room we got eventually was nice and a lovely breakfats. good vfm
wedding party - hbut they did stop the disco at 12. imp[ortant to warn people about the noise and extra demands this makes on a hotel
The hotel was well situated for York and had a very nice relaxed atmosphere.
Not being informed that we needed to collect our own breakfast after we had previously been served by staff. We just picked it up from other guests.
