Celebrate Oktoberfest this year without spending all that time and money hauling yourself to Munich, Germany with KAYAK’s guide to Oktoberfest in the U.S.

We picked our favorite Oktoberfest celebrations and compared them against the expense of traveling to Munich. Savings for each of these U.S. destinations exceed 50%* versus the same trip to Munich, so you’ll have plenty of wallet space for brats, beers and lederhosen.   1. New Braunfels, TX (Save 73%): Fly into Austin, where a drive less than two hours takes you to New Braunfels’ Wurstfest. The celebration takes place from November 7-16, complete with a Skat card game tournament and Lacrosse Invitational.
  2. Tulsa, OK (Save 67%): Linde Oktoberfest takes over Tulsa from October 16-19, featuring top bands flown in from Germany and more than 60 beers from around the world.
  3. Helen, Georgia (Save 66%): Go down south for Georgia’s 44th Annual Oktoberfest, the longest running Oktoberfest in the U.S. Fly into Atlanta and drive under two hours to Helen. Down south, the party takes place from mid-September to early November (September 11-14 and September 18 – November 2).
  4. Leavenworth, WA (Save 64%): Fly into Wenatchee and drive about half an hour to Leavenworth’s famed Oktoberfest, rocking on the weekends of October 3rd, 10th and 17th.
  5. Portland, OR (Save 63%): The Mt. Angel Oktoberfest celebrates the town’s German heritage by fusing music, beer, Bavarian garb and more than a thousand pounds of sausage from September 11-14. You can even check out what beers they’ll have on tap here.
  6. Las Vegas, NV (Save 62%): Sin City has various events scheduled throughout the entire month of October, leaving no shortage of brew and tomfoolery.
  7. Cincinnati, OH (Save 62%): Get a head start on Oktoberfest by checking out Zinzinnati, which claims the largest Oktoberfest celebration in the country, from September 19-21.
  8. La Crosse, WI (Save 61%): The city’s Oktoberfest USA is trying out a new four-day format this year, taking place from September 25-28. The ceremonies include a famed Festmaster Ball, Mrs. Oktoberfest reception and infamous Oktoberfest Medallion Hunt.
  9. Chicago, IL (Save 59%): Celebrate Chicago’s 3 B’s: Brats, Beer and Da Bears during the Windy City’s festivities from September 25-28.
  10. San Francisco, CA (Save 52%): Oktoberfest by the Bay is held at Pier 48 from September 19-21 and headlined this year by the world-famed, 21 piece Chico Bavarian Band.
