American Airlines to Upgrade First Class |
Quite good news for frequent first and business class travelers on American Airlines' transcontinental flights (the rest of us are S.O.L). The airline announced yesterday that it plans to spend $20 million on upgrades, including:
- A brighter cabin interior
- New audio and video entertainment systems
- An additional seat in each first class cabin
- Fully motorized adjustable seats in first class
- New upholstery, carpeting and sidewalls
Also, first and business class travelers on x-country flights will have automatic access to certain of the airline's airport lounges. The details on that are a little too much to list here, so if you're interested, click the link below for more info on lounge access.
The changes are part of the airline's efforts to please core business travelers whose tickets (which are often full price fares paid for by employers) generate a large portion of the company's revenue.
