Escape to New Harmony for Under $100 |
 It's hard to get away from it all for under $100 these days, but not impossible. Case in point: The New Harmony Inn in New Harmony, IN is celebrating its new web site redesign with packages starting at $99/night for accommodations for two in a standard room, and breakfast at the Red Geranium restaurant included. Guests can upgrade to premium and deluxe rooms (which offer amenities like fireplaces, flat-screen TVs and balconies) for $15-25/night. On the property, guests will find free wi-fi, a covered heated garden pool, a fitness center, complimentary bikes and lakeside walking trails.
(In case you're wondering where New Harmony is - my Midwest geography is not the best - it's about 30 miles west of Evansville in the Wabash River Valley and about two hours from Louisville, KY.)
As for attractions, the area is home to two garden labyrinths to explore, the non-denominational Roofless Church built by architect Philip Johnson in 1960, a slew of antique shops and lots of outdoor sculptures.
