Hotel Prankster Creates Havoc at Hilton Garden Inn Orlando Airport

Rivaling Courtney Love's hotel antics mentioned earlier this week comes news of a $5,000 room-trashing by two Florida travelers who aren't being asked to fork over a dime in clean-up costs.

But unlike Love, who reportedly damaged her room and flooded the floor she was staying on with daughter Frances Bean, the Florida hotel-trashers thought they were doing what was necessary to save their own lives from a gas leak at the Hilton Garden Inn Orlando Airport (pictured).

Prompted by an in-room phone call from a person masquerading as a hotel desk clerk, the guests smashed a window, broke a wall mirror, threw a mattress out the window and bashed through the room's wall to reach a person who was supposedly trapped on the other side.

After hotel management arrived at the room to investigate the noise, the family staying in the room learned that they'd been duped, and that their live were not, in fact, in danger. Luckily, this happened before the prank caller had a chance to convince the family to jump out of the hotel window. Police were called, but didn't make any arrests.

The call is reportedly one of many such false alarm phone calls that have been hitting businesses around the nation courtesy of pranksters whose practical jokes sound strangely similar to the ones proudly described by these guys.
