Hotels Tracking Your Internet Activity?

Over at Slashdot, there's a lively little conversation going on about Internet service providers allowing hotels to track guests' Internet activities, including which URLs they visit, while they're logged on to the hotel's high-speed Internet connection. For hotels, monitoring guests' online activity could offer an opportunity to make money through targeted advertising sent to hotel guests during their visit. While some people couldn't care less about this sort of monitoring, others say it smacks of privacy invasion.
