Maddening, But Fun: $1 Rooms from Last Minute Travel |
|
Warning: you may become obsessed with Last Minute Travel's The World for $1 hotel promotion (we almost did, then we had to get back to work). Every weekday through Feb. 6, the travel site is offering $1 nights at all of its hotel properties for 15-minutes each day.
Here's where the obsessive-compulsive danger part comes in: the site doesn't, of course, reveal when those special 15 minutes will occur. Instead, you can either spend the next week and a day refreshing your browser like some sort of addict. Or as the Last Minute Travel World for $1 blog suggests, you can also sign up for the site's email mailing list, Facebook page or watch a series of videos to discover clues and hints about the day's 15-minute window.
It may all sound too good to be true, but the folks over at Hotel Chatter report that it's been bombarded with success stories from lucky cheap travel stalkers. And over at Blackbook, we learned that there are 624 successful bookings made during the promotion's first three days. On Jan. 26, day one of the sale, the 15-minute window was split into two smaller sessions during the 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. hours - so even if you hit the promotion while the $1 rates are in effect, you're gonna want to hustle to lock your reservation in.
Happy hunting (and browser refreshing).
