Three airlines have announced new fare sales this week. In general, when trying to score the lowest available fares, look for round trip tickets on off-peak travel days such as Tuesday, Wednesday or Saturday.
United Airlines: Buy by April 5 for lower fares on tickets to both domestic and international destinations. Travel must be completed by June 17. Customers will also receive a promo code to save 20 percent at a Marriott hotel during their trip. Some sample one-way fares:
$159 Washington Dulles to LAX
$275 San Francisco to Sydney
$89 Chicago to Seattle
JetBlue: Fares start at $39 each way for select destinations when tickets are purchased by April 8. Travel must be completed by June 17.
