Quaids Accuse San Ysidro Ranch of Bizarre PR Stunt

In bizarre D-list celebrity hotel news, Randy Quaid (we admit to appreciating his work in Kingpin) and wife Evie were arrested in Marfa, TX last week after allegedly failing to pay a hefty bill at the luxurious San Ysidro Ranch, just outside of Santa Barbara.

Since posting $20,000 bail each, the couple has been focused on proving its innocence, though perhaps not using the most media-savvy methods. After Evie reportedly went "psychotic" while giving cops a piece of her mind at the Marfa sheriff's office on Friday, the Quaids are attempting to clear their names with help from celeb gossip vehicle TMZ.com, which says it has a copy of a cashiers check the couple used to pay the hotel. Their claim? That the hotel did it all for the PR.

Cashiers check or no, we're not buying that explanation. It hardly seems that the Ty Warner-owned property named best hotel in America earlier this year by Forbes Traveler is hurting for publicity.
