Southwest Airlines Launches New Year Fare Sale |
 Now's the time to snag Southwest Airlines tickets on the cheap, thanks to a New Year's fare sale launched yesterday. The sale runs through Jan. 19 and is good for travel Jan. 15 through April 30, 2009. To get the best fares, i.e. those starting at $49 one-way, you'll want to fly on a Tuesday or Wednesday. Slightly more expensive sale fares starting at $59 for one-way travel are available for flights taken Thursday through Sunday.
Some sample roundtrip fares:
* $98 between Denver and Salt Lake City.
* $98 Houston Hobby and New Orleans.
* $118 one-way between Chicago Midway and Long Island/Islip.
* $138 one-way between Nashville and Philadelphia.
* $198 one-way between Phoenix and San Francisco International.
