Travelodge Travelpod: Solution for Festival-Goers? |
 Budget hotel chain Travelodge has been testing its new TravelPod concept at UK music festivals this summer. The pods are essentially budget hotel rooms in a box. For 26 GBP/night, pod guests can spend the night in a polycarbonate glass box outfitted with a double bed, bedside tables, lamps, duvet cover, carpeted floor, dressing table with light, mirror, chair and bathroom. A nice alternative to camping at an outdoor festival - and you don't even have to lug your gear. Of course, some consider the camping part of the experience. I mean, I can't really imagine TravelPods at, say, Burningman.
This summer, TravelPods are still in the testing phase. If all goes according to plan, festival-goers in the UK should be able to pod-up at some of the larger music festivals.
