From the entrance to the room, the carpets were dirty. We had to ask for water as there was no water bottles placed in the room too.
Pros. Amazing hotel. Service was impeccable all around, from the valet at the front door, to the reception desk, to the bellman. The building itself was beautiful and it was incredible to stay where so much history has been made.
Pros. Staff & location
Cons. Quality if product - 5 star hotel was at best 3 stars. Everything was dated / old. Not selecting this hotel again.
Pros. Location and staff were excellent. Love the decor, nice traditional feel when every other hotel trying to be modern or contemporary.
Cons. The room location and view. The value would be better if the room were priced lower to reflect the room location.
Pros. grand old hotel, with wonderfully decorated lobby. nice large rooms.
Cons. rooms are a a bit Spartan. room was not ready or fully cleaned on arrival. long waits for valet parking. prices are very high
Pros. The room was huge, clean, beautiful.
Cons. I would have liked some instruction on how to use the hotel Wifi
Pros. Amazing staff, amazing service, amazing room. We loved it they couldn’t do more for us.
Cons. Nothing
Pros. Luxurious surroundings and a historic San Francisco location. Quiet rooms and very friendly staff. The Tonga Room on-site is great, the room service food was good, and the gym looked nice.
Cons. The pillows were incredibly uncomfortable. I had to abandon them halfway through the night and just sleep without. I also noticed a lack of the sort of amenities one might expect in a luxury hotel of this caliber—no bathrobes, WiFi was an extra charge, etc. Hard not to feel a little nickel-and-dimed which didn’t seem in keeping with the luxury atmosphere.
Pros. Grand, historic, luxurious
Cons. I could hear everything from my room. Housekeeping, doors slamming, neighbors... I also think free wifi at hotels should be standard at this point - as it is at most hotels.
Pros. Hotel employees treat you like royalty. Beautiful details all over the hotel. Classic history all over! Every president over the past 120 years has stayed at the hotel! First Fairmont Hotel in the world, sets the standard for all Fairmont hotels!
Cons. VERY expensive parking. The hotel contracts with a parking service and valet is the only option. Prepare to spend over $70 a night to park at the hotel, but this is the only option unless you want to walk miles and miles.
