Pros. Brand new renovation! Formerly the Opal Hotel. Maintained old world charm. This hotel far exceeded expectations. Nicely appointed. Felt like a European hotel.
Pros. Leaving the next morning
Cons. It was outdated, old, and dirty. The comforter looked like it hadn't been washed in years. There was a banana peel with a gnat flying around it left in the trash can that never got cleaned out before we checked it. I slept fully clothed. I could very easily see this hotel and the room have a rodent/bug problem. I would NEVER stay here again, even if I was being paid to.
Pros. Price Staff Room
Cons. Location is not bat but could be better
Cons. The hotel has a funny smell. I didn't like it.
Cons. Bird poop on my car even though it's covered parking. Noise from garbage container cleaning at 10 pm and 7 am right below my room. Getting from parking to lobby is just sketchy.
Pros. Front desk person was very helpfull.
Cons. Carpet with stains and smelly.
Pros. The staff was very friendly. The rooms were nice and clean. The continental breakfast was very good. And in a good location if you want to see the city.
Pros. This place was rated 3 stars. We went into it knowing that. It met our expectations. Great location, clean, good price. Staff were excellent. The bed was surprisingly comfortable.
Cons. Nothing. Was exactly what we expected.
Cons. The only thing I did not like is that the hotel os smoke free. The need to offer a place for guests to smoke outside
Pros. The Opal is an older building with beautiful architecture and charm. To get into the lobby you have to be a guest, using your room key to unlock the front doors. I was so much more relaxed within the hotel with this added security. It is in an excellent location to good food and sight seeing and if driving, is easy to get to from 101 and they also have a private, gated parking garage! We will definitely stay at the Opal San Francisco in the future!
Cons. Would recommend curved shower rods to give a little extra room. Because of being an older building the electrical outlets are minimal and had to do some rotation of electrical devices.
