Though it might seem that a city as old as Washington D.C. would have no areas in need of development, The Wharf area is one of the hottest areas being improved. It sits right along the river and features a stunning blend of dining, entertainment, and shopping venues, and the Canopy by Hilton Washington DC The Wharf is tucked into the middle of it. The views from the hotel are enough to merit a visit, but it is only a short and easy walk to such landmarks as the National Mall, White House, Jefferson Memorial, the Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden, and so much more.
The hotel is also close to the water taxi services that take travelers up and down the river, Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport is two miles away and Dulles is 23 miles from the property. This all makes it ideal for leisure and business travelers alike. Yet, it also has many excellent amenities and services that recommend it to any sort of traveler. These include parking (for a fee), outdoor lounging, daily gourmet breakfasts, a premier fitness center, free bicycle use, live entertainment, a full business center, breakfast in the room if desired, a rooftop whiskey bar, on-site mini market, 24-hour front desk and much more.
The rooms also boast an amazing list of amenities and luxuries that include 55” flat screens, gourmet coffee systems, mini-refrigerators, work desks, Wi-Fi, signature bedding with Serta Cool Balance Technology, chaise lounges, stunning views, and premium baths with signature toiletries. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Location was perfect and the room was spacious and comfortable.
Great River views. Very close to restaurants and promenade. Staff members were very helpful and cordial.
The property is right by the wharf and walking distance to many places to eat. It's walking distance to the Anthem. I had an issue with my reservations and they fixed it with the original rate I originally booked it with. Great staff. The room looked brand new. I don't know if the gotel is new or recently refurbished but the property looked fabulous. Whiskey Charlie rooftop bar was really nice. Good bar food and drinks. View to die for. However their restaurant downstairs was very pricey. I definitely would stay again and again.
Pros. Location, Room decor, view
Cons. Maybe a microwave
Pros. New, clean, beautifully designed building. Well appointed room and nice view. The staff were all super helpful. The restaurant was surprisingly good. Not a huge selection of food but just enough to settle a weary traveler.
Cons. I did wish the staff had mentioned that Praline the bakery on the first floor was so amazing! The Macarons are delicious!! I discovered it the day I left.
Cons. The hvac system sounded like a truck driving through your room. Would turn off and on every three minutes had to turn it off and sleep without any air. Would never stay there again
Pros. The hotel met the Hilton services as expected. Everything is new and clean. Location is great; beautiful wharf and relatively close walking distance to The Mall and various memorial.
Cons. The server service and boo selections at the restaurant / bar in the lobby level could be better; as in more promptly. Other than that, it was a pleasant experience for the price of $200+ per night price.
Cons. Ac was very loud and kicked on multiple times waking up all parties
