Pros:They made a mistake and gave us the wrong car at the first rental car pickup, but then they were nice enough to make it up free of charge at the second pickup location.Cons:The first pickup location (the original), did not have any compact cars, only trucks and SUV's, which we did not want at all. So we had to take part of a day from our vacation replacing the car, which took a few hours and some very unhelpful people at the national budget phone line (when I called, I couldn't talk to any local representatives, only national and they did not seem to understand my request). The car we finally got was also not great at accelerating, which made entering the freeway a little hard every time we tried.Reviewed Jul 18 2017

Terrible customer service!Cons:Budget didn't honor the price of the reservation, is charging us double the rate quoted in the booking. When we tried to correct the error, we've been given the run-around. We've been given 5 different customer service numbers to call and still haven't reached a representative to help sort out the issue. The staff and manager we've talked to say they can't do anything, we have to reach customer service, who won't answer the phone or emails. Plus, a part fell off the car on the highway, which I'm sure they'll charge us for too. I will never rent from Budget again!Reviewed Apr 9 2017

Logistical nightmare, cost me moneyPros:Courteous and well-intentioned staff, good car. I'd originally booked a car for pickup on Webster St. in Oakland and dropoff at SFO but they were able to change the dropoff to Webster St. in Oakland for me, which I appreciated.Cons:I'd informed the counter at the time of pickup that I intended to drop the car off the next day. The counter failed to inform me that, due to the MLK holiday (Jan 16), the dropoff site at Webster St would close early, at 1pm. The site was closed when I arrived at 2:30pm, with a homemade sign on the door noting the early holiday closing hour. After a long call with several agents on the phone, they told me I'd need to drop the car off at Oakland airport. I spent about an hour in traffic and $20 on a taxi because the desk failed to inform me that I needed to have the car back by 1pm on Jan 16.Reviewed Jan 17 2017
