We loved Quay West Guesthouse. It was relaxing, clean and comfortable in a perfect location. We don't do Irish breakfasts, but there was plenty of coffee and coffee making facilities in the living room all day. The owners were kind and helpful, if not overly friendly. The price was right and we were very happy with our stay.
Pros: The cleanliness and comfort. It was like staying at your grandma's house if she was very, very tidy! And the location between the Quay and downtown was perfect!
Cons: No outdoor space to sit.

Pros: Nice, modern hostel. Friendly and helpful staff. Great location to climb Crough Patrick (2 minute walk to visitor's center).
Cons: There is no atm nearby and not even a convenience store for water or snacks. They do have water and junk food in a vending machine there and offer a (European) continental breakfast but go prepared with cash, drinking water and healthy snacks for your climb. Otherwise it's a great place. This is not really an issue if you go with a car. The bus to the nearest town is 5 euro one way and doesn't run on Sundays, easy and safe to hitchhike though.

Pros: Great views. Secluded location. Excellent room.
Pros: Beautiful property.
Cons: Cookies from prev. Guest in room. Stuffy room. Restaurant ok but not to level expected.
Pros: size of room and view of river and service of the staff
Cons: Food service in the dinning room was not up to a fine restaurant of the type they bill themselves as. Dirty dishes not cleared away at breakfast from our table as they occurred. Water glasses and wine glasses not refilled at dinner time.

Generally satisfactory but lacking in hospitality, ie welcome and assistance from staff

Pros: What a charming hotel. The staff are friendly and attentive. There is a variety of interesting artwork and one is encouraged to have a look around at the pieces located throughout. The pub and restaurant attached offer delicious fare at reasonable prices, and the bar man took me through a tour of local whiskies. This place is full of character - both the hotel and its staff!
The hotel couldn't be more centrally located, being right on the octagon with all activities within a short walk.
Cons: That I couldn't stay longer.

It is located a couple of miles outside Westport, so make sure you get good directions on getting there - we lucked out and one of the wait staff at the Towers restaurant in Westport Harbour used to work there and gave us step by step directions.
Pros: It was great to sleep in a king sized bed. The rooms were spacious, modern and clean, and the en suite bathrooms were spacious and modern, with huge tubs. Really nice hotel bar.
Pros: The woman at the front desk was very friendly and helpful. The view outside is very picturesque.
Cons: Our room smelled of smoke, even though the room was 'strictly' non-smoking. The loudest fire alarm that I've ever heard went off in the morning while we were sleeping for about 1 minute, with no later explanation from the hotel.
