Having dinner on the rooftop terrace and the fact that the hotel staff was willing to make it happen. The day time staff (male employee from Belgium) was extremely helpful and accommodating. Definitely a hotel to consider if traveling to the Rioja region.
Fascinating design/architecture. Beautiful interior and exterior lighting. Comfort. Interesting location. Friendly, helpful staff. Some noise in evening from terrace under our room window. Limited choice of bar food, if you didn't want restaurant meal.
Good hotel staff and very good breakfast. Unluckily, stayed in room101 where noisy hotel generators were audible all night making an uncomfortable and sleepless night.Other rooms are presumably much better and don,t have this problem.
Comfortable, very modern hotel with helpful staff. If staying more than 2 nights then the evening food options in the hotel become limited.
Everything - the rooms are great, the hotel is beutiful
Owner very helpful when luggage transport didn't arrive the hotel. He personally drove to our last hotel to collect the luggage! Very friendly and helpful!! Nice, tasty breakfast with freshly made juice, coffee and bread/bakery and selection of fruits and chesse, ham etc Nothing at all!
Locartio The windows didn't open!!
Very helpful and pleasant staff. Nice bright spacious clean room. Excellent location.
the bed was comfortable and the bath big and clean with lots of accessories. THere was a lot of noise in the street below, but luckily it died down by 10pm. I thought the price of E50 which did not include breakfast was too high. I found the manager to be lacking in charm and friendliness.
The intimate scale of the hotel allowed one to relax. The staff were knowledgeable and very friendly while the room was tastefully designed. Very good value.
One of the cleanest hotels I have stayed in. Not much breakfast left after a party of cyclists preceded us and no discount for limited choice.
The friendliness of the staff & their willingness to answer all questions. Whilst not in the village it was just a short & pleasant stroll to the village. The shower was marvellous & there was a bath. The bathroom & bedroom were both spacious & well equipped. Fridge & free safe, fluffy large towels & hairdryer. Breakfast was very tasty with an option of cooked too & plentyful supplies of all types of breakfast. Very quiet too & free internet access & no need to worry about parking car. Would certainly return as great for Rioja bodega visits & less than 2 hours from ferry on good roads, but watch for updates on extending road network if tom tom/sat nav not current.
Nice comfortable room. Good value for money as a breakfast was inlcuded. No food or drinks available in evening - unfortunately Sunday is not a good night for this in this hotel or many others in Spain. Had to walk into Navarette to obtain a meal in the evening. Reception staff not the most helpful - very matter of fact.
comfortable elegant hotel, sadly lacking a bar or restaurant
The room was spacious, clean and comfortable. It was in its own grounds and had plenty space to walk our dogs. Very easy to find. We arrived on a sunday after a 7 hour drive only to find out that there was no food or drink on site at weekends........something booking .com forgot to mention in their write up. There was only one member of staff that we saw. Breakfast was basic and the waitress never smiled or spoke to us. We cancelled our booking for our return journey.
This hotel was a convenient stop-over between Barcelona and Santander. We arrived in the evening one day and left after breakfast the next. The bedroom was fine and so was the breakfast. The evening meal was moderate.
Very accessible, quite secure, very clean, helpful staff. Although breakfast was very good, it is a pity that the restaurant was not open at weekend, and that we do not appear to have had prior notice of this. We also understand that when open the menu is very limited, which is not good.
The green gardens. The menu of the hotel Lack in choices.
Wonderfull gardens very well maintainrd.Free Wi Fi. Modern plumbing.Typical Spanish Hotel.
The location outside the city of Logrono.
Friendly staff and the big parking area Nothing
The location and design of the buildings are excellent, the rooms extremely comfortable and the staff friendly and attentive. The spa is very good, as are the staff who run it, and the food is of very high quality. The breakfasts were particularly good as was the staff who looked after them The gourmet restaurant food is first class, but there could have been an a la carte choice rather than two long tasting menus. Service in the bistro was occasionally slow. On nights when the gourmet restaurant is closed, one needs to know that one may need to book the bistro early. We were fortunately able to eat the same food in the bar
Being an Architect what brought me to this hotel was obviously the design by Frank Ghery. On arrival I was taken aback by the setting and a scenery.Rooms are beautiful and very comfortable.
The location and hotel itself. The breakfast staff were exceptional. The reception staff were poor and ill-informed. My room had a wine stained rug and the glasses were not neither removed nor cleaned every day.
unique hotel with fantastic facilites and service but at a price few can afford very limited common area around the hotel. all usable space is perhaps unsprisingly vineyards.
everything.the staff was excellent.so nice and trying to help in every single detail. So profesional. nothing.absoLutely perfect in any case.
Beautiful big rooms and amazing scenery. The restaurant tasting menu was unbelievable! The decor and ambiance in restaurant was lacking. Though the food made up for everything!! A little too pricey too for the hotel being kind of empty.
I liked the expansive grounds and the view of the vineyards from our bedroom window. I thought the maintenance on the building wasn't great, the bathroom was small, telephone didn't work, the shower controls were difficult and stuck on boiling hot, and the bath was tiny - just as well I am not obese
Everything! It should be a little bit cheaper
Beautiful design , excellent food and good service in a very pleasant and quiet setting . Ideal for a few days of relaxing ;
Cafeteria was very basic (although the restaurant was nice), bar only open late at night
Good location and good restaurant; friendly and helpful hotel staff. What was very important for me, I could find them for check out very early in the morning (at 5.50 a.m.) without any problem. Very noisy. You can hear any movement in the coridor and people were returning back and clashing doors during late hours.
The use of the elevision and the A/C The noise of the beds on the floor whenever you moved or sat on them.
The evening meal was excellent Our room was west facing which made it very hot on arrival
easy to find. good stop off on return to Bilbao ferry
the room was very quiet away from the lift.
excellent value for money will stay again
Reception staff were very good. The breakfast arrangements were chaotic and the food available was very poor and nowwhere near the standard of the hotel.
Close to town centre Noisy electric supply box and heavy water leak from airconditioning unit damaged my documents on the desk.
Strangely a part of a petrol/gasoline station, through which you have to enter it, but this assures 24 hour staff (for late arrivals, safety of your car in the car park etc), and so in practice is actually a good thing. Hotel only built in June 2010, so brand new furnishings, spotlessly clean and very comfortable. Small café/restaurant is great value for money and actually had one of the best tortillas I have ever tried (savoury continental breakfast Eur3 pp). Excellent childrens' playroom also (Ikea shoppers will recognise the contents well). All in all, extremely good value for money, and I'd stay again if passing through Miranda de Ebro. On the outskirts of the town, so not great for city breaks, more of an overnight stop when driving from Madrid to San Sebastian or France for example. Looks like there's a brothel just down the road, but far enough away for comfort. Staff were a little quiet and slow especially in the café, but that tends to be the norm in Spain as a whole anyway.
All hotels are more or less the same these days, but we have been staying in this hotel for the past 2 to 3 years now on our way between our homes in the UK and Spain. Nothing.
Because it is located in the middle of an industrial estate it is really more of a motel However the room was huge and very nicely appointed. It was fine for an overnight stop on a long journey. Just the location
The friendly efficient 24 hour bar-restaurant was excellent after an 8 hour journey from France The hotel would benefit from better signposting from the motorway to the industrial estate, and to the site itself. We arrived (with GPS) but could not see where the hotel was.
Clean, good location, ideal stop for driving up from southern Spain. N/A
the best nights sleep for a long time
Excellent Size room for a family of four. Good air-con system (only works with Key Card in room but your get two key cards). Underground Secure Parking Free of Charge. Very quiet due to excellent double glazing - (right next to major Truck Stop and not far from Train line but could not hear a thing!! you could of heard a pin drop!!!!) There was restaurant next to the Hotel which was good value. All beds were very comfortable, even for the kids who are real fussy!!! Will be using again.
Location and service
Clean comfortable and more than adequate for an overnight stay Nothing
The feeling of space, the relaxed atmosphere and the cleanliness
Hotel staff at reception very friendly and room was lovely The cafeteria staff were quite rude. Although I dont expect people in Spain to all speak English, I felt no attempt was made to try and help us when choosing from an all spanish menu. The bread was stale, the meal was horrible and the staff rude. It put us off the hotel which was a shame as we both thought it was a lovely place until visiting the restaurant.
The food was excellent - chef very gifted. everything was great - loved our stay in Laguardia so much we extended by 2 extra days
Ideally situated in the Rioja region and also handy for the short trip to Bilbao to catch the lunchtime ferry home.
An efficient and helpful reception. The room was comfortable and clean, with a good outlook. A good buffet breakfast. In a bar with only one other customer, who seemed to be a friend of the barman, being totally ignored when we entered and tried to order - the long conversation with the barman's friend being obviously of greater importance. My wife was given the smallest measure of wine I have ever seen poured in Spain. Later, a Spanish couple queried the smallnes of the wine measure, and were told that it was the Internationally agreed measure! We asked at reception to see the restaurant menu, but when we wanted to dine were told the restaurant was closed and we would have to eat in the bar cafe. The food was cold and unpalatable, and overpriced.
Really nice hotel - good service, friendly staff and all the facilities you need - the bar was open late and breakfast good. Also the restaurant upstairs is pretty good and good value. The only downside is that the hotel is situated a bit away from the town - about a 15 minute walk but it is seriously uphill on the way there. But we drove up the hill and could park easily and for free.
Free use of the internet. Personel taste, but the decor of the room is of an individual taste and would not be ours.
this is our second visit to this hotel, we found as previously clean and comfortable accomodation. the location was fantastic, good access to the town and local area my only disapointment was that the main restaurant was not available on sunday evenings, the alternative was food offered in the bar area, which was a limited menu.
Free parking (if you don't use their underground garage). Swimming pool & less than a 10 minute walk to the beautiful old town
Staff were very friendly. Childrens inside play area. WiFi in hotel did not go out to pool area.
Excellent location to tour La Rioja region in Spain. Reception staff extremely helpful in arranging access to local wineries closed due to a national strike.
Garage fee of just 8 euros was reasonable and close to hotel.
The site is very pleasant Room was cold an could not be heated properly. The room was noisy from outside street noises as well as being near the lift which was also disturbing through parts of the night.Very few of the staff spoke english
The building was quite attractive, but it lacked the magical atmoshere associated with these kinds of hotels in Spain. Some of the staff should learn how to smile, it means a lot to guests.
Beautiful hotel. Magnificent building. Very centrally located in Haro. Bedrooms were really spacious and wonderful. We really enjoyed our stay in Los Agustinos. Staff very helpful No.
Relaxing and comfortable supported with good staff and excellent facilities The sofas in the atrium were more about image than comfort, but this is a very minor gripe.
Excellent staff, beautifully finished hotel, restuarant food to be recommended. Beautiful bedroom but bathroom a little cramped
Position for centre and a unique hotelgreat for fiestas Battalla del vino in June.
The hotel was amazing. Magnificent old building which has been sympathetically restored and converted to a luxury hotel.
Superb staff service and outstanding cuisine in a sensitively restored historic building affording luxurious comfort. It even has its own secure parking. Nil.
Wi-fi connection was poor and failed to connect to most sites I tried to access for my work.
It´s a lovely hotel with beautiful rooms and a lively bar with a lot of local wine selections attached. It´s not anywhere near the center of the city, if you don´t have a car, this is not the option for you.
restaurant and bar location bit out of town
The room was nice and modern. The location!!!
Easy to find, good parking, stylishly decorated The food in the restaurant was absolutely terrible.
Horrible, the map lied about how far it is away from town. The staff was borderline mentally insufficient Almost everything. room was clean but thats about all. Id like to make you stay there and see how you like it.
Very nice design hotel in La Rioja. Quality of the food was not very special but ok related to the price. Situated in an Industrial zoning (although it was quiet calm in July), you need a car to get in Haro. If you like design, you will like this hotel.
The food and confort of the hotel was very good for the price and the staff were more than helpful. I would recommend people to stay. Very difficult to locate, should have signs in the town. Also not on sat nav.
Convenient location as stop off on way to ferry at either Bilboa or Santander. Free wifi very good. Not easy to find.
Clean with friendly staff No pedestrian access to the town
Situation on outskirts of town. Easy parking. check in took time because receptionist was required to deal with phone call. Bar area needed a sweep.
Quit and clean. Hotel restaurant open until 22 and cheaper. It is diffucult to arrive at the hotel by car. Public parking at 200m.
Hotel is well located on Camino walk trail.Only street parking. When we steyed it was festival time August so expect lots of loud music and very little sleep.Hotel under staffed and very busy with locals.Great location if you have a car for touring around Rioja wine region Need more staff
Nothing. I was in Spain for 3 weeks and this was, by far, the worst hotel experience I had. We checked in around 7pm. I had emailed the hotel about 1.5 weeks earlier asking for recommendations for bodegas for wine tours and tasting. I got no response. Then, when we checked into the hotel, the front desk lady refused to call any of the bodegas to make reservations, despite my requests to do so. She said she would do it in the morning the next day. Well, the next day, no one came to work at the hotel. Literally. All day long, all the lights were turned off, there was no one at the front desk, ever. I just wandered around the hotel and it was a ghost town. Not a single person there to answer any questions or provide any help. A sorry, sorry excuse for a hotel operation. Incredibly disappointing and unprofessional.
We loved the little touches that made the hotel so unique. It succesfully blended comfort, luxury and history. There was an occassional drain smell from the toilet. There were no real English speakers, but we managed to muddle through with lots of hand gestures!
Ambience, standard of breakfast & delivered to room on request, standard of accomodation Surprised not sign posted in village
The hotel was beautiful and very romantic. Near good places to eat. Staff was excellent. Because of the thick walls internet access in the rooms was not available.
The monastry is beautiful and it was great to stay in a small town. Haro was only a 5 minute drive and it's close to the mountains (half an hour) and in the middle of the wineries. Would have been great if the hotel staff spoke a little more english but they were still helpful and friendly
I didn't die there was a major bed bug infestation and I got bitten all over. The staff refused to help. The wireless internet didn't work and the staff, again, refused to help. The one computer in the lobby had about as many viruses on it as there were bed bugs in our room...
Have stayed at many such country hotels in Europe and this is above average. Very quiet and relaxing after a day touring. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Some street signage in the village directing the location would have been helpful.
A very charming Inn in an old monastery building located in a small village in La Rioja. The old architecture and murals make it a special place. Nice buffet breakfast included in our rate. Only 5 km to wine tasting in Haro and tapas scene in historic Sto Domingo. Free parking on streets nearby hotel. Olympic-sized town pool with free-entry courtesy of the hotel is a two minute walk and was a great outlet for our seven-year-old.
We loved this hotel! We had a superior double room which had a huge spa bath, was very spacious and overlooked the village square and monastery. The staff are very welcoming and helpful. The hotel is in a beautiful historic building with beautiful traditional decor but also offers modern comforts such as a lift and free internet access. It's ideal as a base to tour round the picturesque villages and do wine-tasting at the many vineyards close by. I'd recommend a visit to the Marques de Riscal Hotel in Elciego, to see the amazing architecture designed by Frank Gehry who designed the Guggenheim in Bilbao. They don't do evening meals, but this was only a problem for us as we arrived during the village fiesta when restaurants were all booked up!
Beauty of the hotel, quality of the welcome and generally high quality of attention from the staff, location of hotel, breakfast, international channels on the tv. 1. Wi-fi did not work but computer in lobby did. We weren't sure at the time if the problem was in the wifi or our computer. Now we know it was a hotel issue. 2. bed mattress uncomfortable--springs poked us. Same problem in most hotels we've stayed in on this trip to Spain. Good foam mattress is a better way to go. 3. bathroom sometimes smelled unpleasant We did not bring these issues to the staff's attention
The accommodation was wonderful, very quiet, beautifully restored. Internet did not work in the rooms, only in reception lobby, but was not a problem.
The bed was quite comfortable. The location was quite simply awful! The little town was pretty but closed on arrival. There was nowhere to eat or even get a cup of coffee. The hotel offered limited food and was reluctant to serve drinks in the afternoon. The room was reasonably clean however the beams were covered with dust and the bedroom floor was dirty. The staff on arrival were very unwelcoming. The location was atrocious as there was a horrible block of flats in front of the hotel. It was the worst place we stayed in Spain. Simply awful! And overpriced.
staff very hospitable, despite their lack of english or our lack of spanish.
peaceful location only restaurant in village was very bad
The hotel is in a beautiful village of old architecture and the hotel had lots of character and was very clean and had an excellent breakfast no
Liked the old charm, good breakfast, helpful staff Initial room was a bit pokey but we were switched to larger room at no extra cost
The atmosphere in the viiage of Brinas and the winws available in the district make this a good place to stay, it is full of charatcre Not relly a complaint, but the bar was not open!
Room number 12 (which I had) has an enormous (I mean enormous) PRIVATE balcony with a great view of Marques de Riscal. I ended up inviting friends over for a lunch on my terrace enjoying the sun at the Hotel. For this price, nothing beats it! The owner doesn't speak much English, but sign language is fun and underrated :)
Very friendly and helpful staff, perfect location, at the central square. Only one thing: suprisingly, it was hard to find a place to eat ( we arrived almost at 9 pm), may be it was due to the local festitivites. Otherwise, perfect.
This is definitely the best hotel I ever stayed in. I arrived just after the local holidays had ended and I was the only client in the whole hotel. The hostess (unfortunately I forgot to ask what is her name) was very charming, kind and helpful. Moreover, coffee for breakfast was real espresso, which is something I used to consider impossible in hotels.
Comfort-location and cleanliness of the rooms
Very nice hotel, everithing was good (rooms, cleanliness, location, breakfast, etc.)
great location. nice people.
Hotel staff are very nice and helpful, ake you feel home away from home.
Well situated in the La Rioja region. Very good value for the money. They do not really have an easy access to wifi.
Excellent location, clean and functional rooms, good value for money and excellent, though not cheap, restaurant No attached parking
The staff were extremely pleasant and the hotel was basic but comfortable.Elciego is a very ancient stone village with the production of wine its sole purpose. If you love Riocha wine and want to do a lot of wine tasting then this is the place to come. A little expensive but it seems all accommodation in the Riocha region is expensive
This is one of the best hotels I have ever stayed in! Loved it! Our double room had a beautiful four poster bed, and although not the biggest room I have ever stayed in, it was full of boutique hotel charm and very comfortable. Andrea, the hotel's very friendly receptionist, couldn't do enough for us, helping us book wine tours and local restaurants. We did not eat in the hotel so can't comment on quality of dinner. Overall we had a really memorable stay at the Hospederia De Los Parajes and would not hesitate to recommend it!
Ambience of the hotel was excellent. Each room had a unique name. Security light in the room that disturbs sleep. Temperature in room was too hot.
The hotel owners / staff (in many cases they are the same) were very helpful in setting up tours for me. Even with some language barrier for the staff I was made to feel very welcome and they accomodated me in all my needs. The food was very good with a very good selection of wines.
Staff were very helpful. Rooms were a good size and furnished very nicely.
We liked the atmosphere and the charm of this centuries-old mansion. They have also pretty good restaurant.
Hotel has great character and flavor of the area. Staff was very helpful when booking.com screwed up during reservation process. Don't be fooled that the bodega here is anything really worth seeing. It's very tiny and owner refused to even show it to us when we arrived (even though hotel guide said there would be tour at the time we were there). Breakfast is expensive and there's nothing to it.
The hotel was situated in the heart of a charming medieval village. The decoration of the rooms was really beautiful. The staff were so friendly and helpful in organising our vineyard visits and onward journeys.
enjoyed the position and uniqueness of hotel. Rooms comfortable and well equipped. Reception staff very welcoming and helpful The restaurant which was one of the reasons for staying in the hotel was closed for the night!!!
We enjoyed the Posada Mayor De Migueloa so much the first night, that we stayed for a second. Overall friendly staff. But the Matriarch of the family and her son were extremely helpful throughout our entire stay. Wine Tour
