The staff was particularly helpful. The facilities were very attractive and well maintained.
The staff was very helpful and kind!
the location is very pleasant for a calm rest. The breakfast and restaurant are very good indeed. The outdoor pool is great. room tv is very small...Multibanco out of service, but that's all.
Location is charming, surrounded by nature. Not very convenient if you have to visit around.
superb location, quiet place, awesome breakfast. hotel staff very polite
Beautiful area and hotel Area around the hotel with pool (big and small), horses, rabbits, pigs. Tranquil spot ideal for relaxing with the family Rooms are tiny and stuffy, air conditioning very noisy. "Clean" dishes in restaurante often dirty! Wireless access not available, as indicated. No childrens park (allthough the hotel was full of families with little kids)
Very Bad. It was announced as 4 Star, but it was only 3-star. Ins that illegal? Besides, bathroom door of room 106 was broken (broken lock, doesn't close). Very poor cleaning.
Clean, basic room. Pleasant hotel staff. The hotel offers very simple rooms without specific amenities, which makes it pretty expensive with respect to quality. Beds were unconfortable. The parking is free but at a deserted location some four hundred meters from the hotel and unguarded.
There was no tea/coffee making facilities in the room
The hotel has a very nice living room. The view from the hotel room. The quality of the bed.
Good location! Staff very helpful with car parking. Clean rooms but a little small.
Hotel was very central
view was great , close to historical centre , nice large rooms it was very plain inside , and no free access to wireless , just an slow old computer in the lobby
The room was big and clean. The hotel stuff was friendly.
I liked the fact that the hotel was close to the centre of Guimarães and the price. The room was also comfortable and clean. Breakfast was ok. I did not appreciate the look of the building, I mean, it's an old building I know but it could be renovated.
The location, the staff and the size of the room. It needed a little more of insulation from both the inside and outside noise and also we got a very loud AC device, impossible to use during the evening.
Great views from spacious room. Includes a plentiful breakfast and garage parking. Very good location to where explore the town. Next to a train station. Room a bit stark.
large rooms, nice view from the breakfast floor, friendly staff, restaurants nearby
The stuff was quite helpfull. There was a free parking in the hotel's garage. The building itself is an unattractive monster, and is situated near railway.
Location and sighseeing
Family atmosphere. I was well looked after. Not many places in the village were open as it was out of season
The location is perfect, the people is nice. In hot summer days a AC would be a plus, mosquito nets in the windows would help for those that like sleaping with open windows in the summer.
Good value for money, and the private parking lot was a blessing. Breakfast was terrible and the rooms aren't soundproof enough. I could hear snoring coming from two(!) separate rooms.
Good place for trips into the mountains of National Park Peneda Geresz, it is more mountain hostel than a hotel; own car park
Extreme care from the staff and extensive knowledge of the region including other regions surrounding Montalegre and Terras do Bouro. Good and complete breakfast with milk, coffee, ham, cheese, croissants, cakes, juice, tea, etc etc... Relaxing view from the cafeteria. The rooms and the other areas of the hotel were very clean w/o any kind of unconfortable noise or smell (as mentioned by others) and were very confortable. They have an indoor parking for customers with is very handy and make your life easirer. Definetly above the average regarding price/quality ratio.
Family environment, quiet, friendly and comfortable No internet facilities
Nearby is a big shopping mall and as well some bars for breakfast if you do not like to eat at Ibis with extra charge. You can easily walk to the city centre, but you need 10min. We missed a fridge in the room. But I think all Ibis in Portugal miss this as they try to sell you from the bar downstairs 24 hours.
Simple, reasonable price, parking place (for a small amount of vehicles but we were lucky), staff speaks english well. Nothing, considering 2* and the price.
professional and very helpful staff, very good breadfast buffet, location close to the center, shopping mall, motorway, internet, first floor is for non-smokers not recommended if you are a very light sleeper
Pity that breakfast is not included and it's a bit outside of the centre right on the main entrance of the town with lots of trafic
Very good! A free wifi connection in the rooms could be very useful. However, Ibis is always the right choice!
Central position. The car parking is very bad, though we were told that it was available, and the map on the website needs improving. Navigation around Portugal is very difficult.
The warm welcome from the staff, the cosy but well presented rooms, very nice breakfast, walking distance from all the historic center, restaurants, etc. I have to say that I was reluctant to go to your hotel but was a great experience and I will stay there always, when I travelling.
Great location in centro with access for travelers with cars. Excellent friendly and helpful staff.
nice room.interesting design. comfort and clean.staff exraordinary helpfull and polite.
Rooms were spacious and very clean. Desk staff helpful and cheerful. The position of the hotel is perfect for exploring the area on foot. No it is very comfortable.
Excellent hotel, friendly staff, great location and descent breakfast. Located 10min walking from train station and on the main square. Great for tourism or business. The Internet connection is unsecured and connection reliability was very bad from my room, breaking mainly during internet telephony. A colleague had good connection from his room though.
good location. pleasant, helpful staff. comfortable , spacious room. good breakfast! for a 4 star hotel they could have run to fresh , rather than instant coffee at breakfast! Entrance to hotel was not clear.
The hotel is very well located, it is possible to walk from the bus station until there, it is in the historical center. The staff are very friendly and give lots of suggestion about where to go, what to see and so on.
Very helpful and friendly staff. Waiter at breakfast was fantastic. Room was large and comfortable and far exceeded my expectations for the price.
Great location and very warm welcome. Staff were most helpful with recommendations for places to dine and drink. Breakfast was excellent with several choices and served at table by a very friendly waiter.
Clean, comfortable and pleasant surroundings Nothing
very nice hotel highly recommaned to any goal, either city trip or romance cann't realy think about anything wrong
the quiet location the food in the restaurant was not very good and too expensive
Excellent staff - couldn't be more helpful or nice, wonderful views. Overall charming. Small bathroom with poor light, and some humidity in ceiling. We went on a promotion, if I had payed full price I'd say rooms should be better, but for the price we paid it was excellent.
went hiking in the national park, to see a beautiful waterfall and on the way we encountered "wild" horses! the breakfast was rather poor and unprofessional looking(for the usual standard for pousadas)also we had a room in the old part of the hotel were the wood furniture was in urgent need the be repainted!!
Great view. It is an excelent place to rest.
The restaurant and bar was expensive for the offer
Comfortable room; good bathroom. Good service, particularly in restaurant. Our balcony faced due south and needed some shade; balcony furniture rather tired, as is the garden. Restaurant prices are 'sky high', gourmand rather than gourmet. The prices for wine are extortionate; we bought local vinho verde at 3.30, price for exact same in restaurant 17.50! Second night we met other guests also 'Dining out'. Mini-bar same comment.
The widely-spaced layout of the different facility areas detracts from the ambience expected.
Huge, comfortable, and well-appointed room in an old monastery. Great bathroom. Nice view over the city. Easy parking. Dinner was very ordinary and not a good value. The hotel is very hard to find (even with a GPS), although reasonably convenient to Guimaraes itself.
Lovely place, wonderful tiles, beautiful gardens. It's a bit out dated and far from Guimaraes. Food at the restaurant could be better.
The pousada had beautiful stone walls, marble floors, wonderful great open halls filled with portraits and antiques, and a wonderful eating area. Families were welcome. The beds were totally inadequate; hard beds!!!!
Beautiful old building and setting. Helpful and friendly staff. Dreadful food served for dinner - inedible , grey, overcooked and reheated 'roast duck' as main course was appalling. Would not eat there again and would be wary of other pousadas for food.
Charming hotel. Hotel staff were decent as well as kind. Room furniture was enough and well renovated.
Staff is very, very friendly. Location is overwhelming, beautiful, one in a kind. Because of short-stay visitors (most guests stay only one, two or three days) the hotel only comes to life after 16:00. Nice and quite though !
lovely cloister and pool. too large for my taste also, I was in the modern wing where rooms were not as attractive.
the magnificent setting and immaculate pousada
Located in a cute hillside village in the beautiful countryside - I loved the peace and the view over the valley from the hotel room! Just a little deceiving about the swimming pool - I was looking forward to soaking in the hotel's pool on arrival but discovered it was on the other side of the valley (although I believe they can transport you there) but it was closed! Otherwise I had a very enjoyable stay.
Friendly staff, cozy atmosphere. Good price/benefit relationship. (1) Some noise from children in the corridors after 10pm. Parents should be informed by staff that their children should keep silence after 10pm, 'cause other guests may be wanting to rest for the walking/early activities next day. (2) Breakfast sitting area should be extended to the enclosed balcony next to the breakfast room, the view over the mountains is very beautiful from there, but the balcony is reserved for lunch only, 3 and half hours later... Guests are deprived of that beautiful morning view in favor of the comfort of the hotel employees.
Had a very relaxing break at Pensao Adelaide. The accommodation is basic, but had everything we needed and was good value for money. Worth it for the view from our balcony though...spectacular. Worst thing was breakfast...especially for veggies. Also, it didn't bother us once we'd got used to it, but the swimming pool is at the other side if the village - so you either have to walk, take your car, or get the Adelaide minibus. Very good pool though once you are there!
The staff was exceptionally helpful. The room was clean and had a lovely balcony with a view. If you arrive by bus as we did, it is a long uphill walk to the hotel.
This is a very nice small hotel and good value for money. Breakfast was buffet-style cold, decent value for money. The hotel is a little out of the way and a little difficult to find. You need a car, there is free car parking but perhaps limited if the hotel was busy. Some of the staff speak no English but others do. They were very helpful and allowed me to use their computer to book the next hotel.
We stayed for one night with a friend after a day touring through the National Park. Staff was friendly, not very good knowledge of English, but used German to order the dinner which was fine with us. Excellent value for money. Nice views over the valley.
clean, convenient for the old town and station, friendly staff breakfast could do with a bit more choice, cereals, fruit, yogurt etc
The Hotel staff That i stayed only a night
Friendly staff, room was perfectly adequate, nicely furnished & clean, but by no means plush. Temperature of the shower was a little variable
The room with attached bathroom was clean and the bacony overlooking the train station was nice and big. We could even dry our clothes in the balcony, when the sun was out. Nothing.
staff were friendly, hotel was excellent value, clean, modern, well appointed and furnished. the hotel is right by the train Station with a fifteen minute walk into Guimaeres Historic Centre, there is a friendly inexpensive restaurant around the corner on Rua Dom Alfonso Henreques. I only wish the tourist office in the centre was as welcoming.
staff was friendly and helpful. room was nice and acceptable, with balcony. small breakfast has quality. location is very convenient, nearby the railroad station. excellent quality/price
Good breakfast , calm hotel with very nice people.
Close to the center. kind people. Clean rooms.
The location was within walking distance of most sites and restaurants. There was also a good restaurant next door. There was free parking in a small lot across the street and street parking in front of the hotel if you're there at the right time. The owner was at the reception desk when we arrived and he was very welcoming, friendly, and gave us a lot of good information about Guimaraes and surroundings.
Nice hotel. We had top floor room with good view on historical center (I also checked the other side of building. It is on railways and hill, but isn't terrible). Breakfast wasn't rich, but ok. Not far from center and close to station. Helpful staff.
The breakfast and the view from the room is astonishing. I think this is real value for money.
Very hospitable and friendly people, very helpful as well. We owe them much gratitude for helping us out when we discovered we had forgotten some vital medication. Nice clean rooms and a very good breakfast. A beautiful location.
The value of the money is very good, the hotel design is modern and clean and the views are breathtaking. The indoor pool is small and therefore it can be crowded.
New hotel with a really incredible view from above the mountain, free working internet, good breakfast Not enough surveillance in the spa, it sometimes becomes a childrens playground. Staff needs to speak at least English.
nature of environment
The bedroom i stayed with my wife was excellent, very quiet, very clean, and with excellent taste in design, very simple, but very unique. The hotel staff were all very friendly and caring. The breakfast was excellent, and we definitely recommend staying in this hotel. All rooms have mountain view, and there are some with jacuzzi, as well, as apartments to rent. Definitely the worst you can say about this hotel is that the inside pool looks very clean, but it's a tank, not a pool, It has around 16m2 so it's too small for a 4star hotel. The hotel was excellent and this was the stain of it.
The building is nice and rooms are good. The name of the hotel is "Água Hotels", but the pools are incredibly small!
360º views, quiet place, nice pool.
Nice room, good breakfast, free internet and spa.The view is amazing staf is friendly but should be able to speak english
The perfect location in combination with the facilities like pools, sauna etc. Very quiet, perfect beds, good restaurant, good breakfast.
The design of the hotel and the beautifull view When it was sunny, there were not enough chairs around the swimming pool
The location is outstanding and the hotel is a fine piece of contemporary architecture, beautifully integrated in the landscape. Comfort, taste and quietness. Friendly, helpful staff.
