Pros: The breakfast was good and we have home made pie every morning. The property is surrounded by nature, quiet, relaxing and refreshing. Our stay in Casa Bosque was magnificent!!!
Cons: Nothing, everything is great!

Pros: Claudio and Jessica go out of their way to make their guests feel at home. The facility is kept very clean, the showers are very good and the beds are very comfortable. The breakfast is delicious and generous. I would recommend this hostal to anyone.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: It's a beautiful place, very nice owners.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Tucked away just out of town this lovely, relatively new hotel is a great place to stay. You probably need a car to get to the hotel. The owner, who doesn’t speak any English, couldn’t be nicer and more helpful, and using our phones to translate she made several calls on our behalf and went out of her way to help us plan a boat trip. The bedrooms are very comfortable and the breakfast room is a very nice place to sit.
Cons: The breakfast was a bit meagre, bread and jam, plus eggs if you wanted them, plus a nice iced juice. Some cereal, fruit, yoghurt etc would have been nice. This is just a minor gripe!
9.6 Excellent
Pros: A well designed property with lots of interesting decorations. A lovely place to stay Great breakfast. Charming hostess.
Cons: It is a somewhat hard to find. Small sign on major road. Side stone road (500? meters) to property is a little bumpy. But don't let this put you off. This is a wonderful place that deserves to have lots of business.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Location Amazing view from the windows Great tasty home made meals Super friendly owners Nice rooms and comfortable beds
Cons: Everything was perfect!
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Very friendly owners, nice new room and bathroom. The owner prepared me a very yummy dinner on my request, I also enjoyed the organic Camenere.

Pros: A wonderful sanctuary away from town to fully experience the beauty of Chiloe! We enjoyed every bit of our stay—personalized to our likes and interests with the help of the delightful property managers Amalia and Stephanie. The spacious, simple rooms provide a lovely comfortable retreat with beautiful views of the wildlife, wetlands and sunrise. Delicious breakfast fare, wonderful horseback ride through the countryside, ideal for bird watching and hiking along the country roads.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The hosts were very kind, attentive and willing to share their local knowledge, their experiences and loads of information on Chiloé, which made our staying very pleasant. We felt very welcome and very well treated. The location is superb, and the facilities are very comfortable, modern, spacious and clean. I would recommend this place to anyone.
Cons: There is an offer for a dip in an outdoor tub, which needs to be better arranged.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The staff was so friendly and accommodating. It is a family run operation and you immediately feel at ease the location and rooms are breathtaking. The views of the lake are stunning. They also had a wonderful breakfast prepared for us and we had a delicious dinner there as well where they were able to accommodate my dietary preferences. We were really blown away at this property and would definitely encourage anyone staying near Castro to choose this property first.
Cons: Nothing. It was amazing. We wish we would have stayed there a week.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Excellent breakfast, very attentive staff, fantastic panoramic view.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The fabulous view of the bay and the mountains with a volcano in the distance, the wonderful relaxing atmosphere and stylish modern comfort of the room, delicious home made food for breakfast and the dinners we had at the hotel. The beautiful quiet position, but easy to get to Castro, other small islands and countryside.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful location. Just a perfect place. The staff was great; helpful and plesant company. Breakfast at a superbe level. We really loved the homemade bread
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The setting on Pullao Bay is breathtaking! The design of the rooms is amazing. The room was much bigger than I expected with a huge window to take in the extraordinary view. The staff were also great, preparing us delicious breakfasts each morning. We also had dinners made by them. We also did an excursion one day with a boat trip to see penguins, a beach picnic, and a walk in the forest. I only wish I could have stayed longer! The views and sounds of the birds were soothing and magical.
Cons: It was hot while we were there so needed to have the windows open. But the windows don't have screens so there were some mosquitoes. Be aware the road to enter is a bit rough, but we were fine in our small VW rental car.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Our stay at Refugio was a highlight of our trip to Chiloe. Its a very tranquil location yet not very far from Castro and some great restaurants. The room is simple and modern, very comfortable beds and best of all a beautiful view out over the bay. The breakfast was very nice, fresh homemade bread, eggs, fruit, yoghurt and good coffee! A great place for kids ( ours are 6 and 9) to run around outside, and there is a birdwatching area to explore too. No real beach, its very muddy. We went horse riding along the beachfront, horses very calm and lovely ride. Amalia was a great hostess. highly recommend, and we should have stayed longer.

Featured amenities include luggage storage and a safe deposit box at the front desk. A roundtrip airport shuttle is complimentary (available 24 hours).
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The hotel is cozy and beautiful, full of details that make your stay special. Decorated with art from Chiloe’s artists shows you the range of beautiful things you can look for. The cafe is also beautiful, delicious and not expensive at all. It has a sauna, a massage chair and the location is unbeatable with an amazing view of the church. And Dalcahue is a must place to visit. Here you will see a more traditional Chiloe than in Castro, with crafts from traditional artisans and lots of beautiful places to visit. The staff, specially Cristian is amazing and just make your stay perfect. I’ll have to come back!
Cons: There is nothing I didn’t like. Just a tip. I arrived before my check in time and there was no one at the hotel so I had to wait until the cafe opened. Fortunately it was only and hour. So tip, call the day before to arrange your arrival. And tip to the hotel, call people the day before to do the same.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Excellent rooms, really friendly and helpful staff, great breakfasts and a really lovely building with wonderful interior decoration. The cakes are wonderful in the cafeteria and it is also possible to have some salads and sandwiches there. 10.0 Excellent
Pros: The location of the hotel is fantastic with wonderful views from all windows . I LOVED de bed, the food was good and the staff extra nice. Very tastefully decorated and impecably clean . We discovered the Ulmo Sours, the best !!!!
Cons: A little shelf under the wash basin in the bathroom would be very good as there isn't reallhy enough romm of bath articles and toiletries. The pool was a little on the cool side for this time of the year but the tubs ouitside were absolutely great.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Servie and people were WONDERFUL
7.1 Good
Pros: Nice views, interesting property, common spaces very nice. Calm and relaxation is what this lodge is for and they do hit the mark on that.
Cons: Room was very small! Areas to sit and relax were beautiful with all the windows but very hot in the afternoon needs fans to move air, it would be much more comfortable. Since there are no TVs and the point is to enjoy the lodge the areas needed to be more comfortable so you could. Little to no English spoken by staff but between our limited Spanish and the few words staff knew it worked. Food was average it was convenient to have the restaurant onsight. Breakfast was also average and typical for the area.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Comfortable. Beautiful view and location. Nice hiking trails
Cons: The power went out twice for extended time due to a power outage in the entire area. Probably need a backup generator if this happens very often.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This was a wonderful place to stay. Beautiful hotel outside of Castro in the countryside with walks down to the sea, pool, hot tubs, sauna, breakfast and the friendliest staff. A real gem. Highly recommended.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was excellent homemade bread and good service from two nice ladies.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The place was overall very cool. The rooftop terrace was a big plus as it seemed it was, I think, the only Palafito hotel with a rooftop terrace. The view was directly on the bay. The food was so very good, at the bar (although maybe a bit pricey) and also during breakfasts as many things are home made. The lady working at the terrace bar (the manager I believe) was super friendly, interesting and was very helpful (and speaks English!). The room was spacious and very comfortable. We had the side ocean view room. We stayed in September.
Cons: Maybe a bit more cleaning in the bathroom floor as it was really dusty behind the door all the way up to the shower. Other than that, everything was good!

Pros: Location

Pros: Nice interior and view. Location is convenient. Welcome drink included. The room was already ready and we could check in very early!

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Strategic location yet near to the amazing coastal bank view. Pretty equipped kitchen. All beyond the manager of the hostal... since she herself is a backpacker, she knew what I needed perhaps more than myself..! She pushed my back to keep going on the road so I could catch up with the ferries without missing some must visit spots on the way... so I ended up with staying in Chiloe only for one night, too pitty, but was all good in the end all thanks to her!!!

Pros: This is a very cute place. It‘s lovely decorated and I almost felt like being at home. The location is great – very close to the city center. All interesting places are in walking distance. The hostel in general is very quiet. I hardly ever saw other guests. But I was traveling off season, too. Luis is a very nice person. 10.0 Excellent
Pros: The bed, cleanliness and the friendly staff!!!
Cons: My only comment could be, some times you can feel the trucks on the road beside the hotel, but it is just during the day not at night. But next time in Castro I'll stay here again.

Pros: Really helpful and welcoming staff. Beautiful house with comfortable and clean rooms. Large, well stocked kitchen and dining area, as well as a living room with log burning stove: very cosy! Easy walk into centre of Castro, both bus terminals and supermarkets. Great place to base yourself to enjoy Castro.
4.2 Okay
Cons: The owner made me pay the taxe, he knew perfectly i wasn't chilean, i should not have paid. When i asked him to refund me the tax,e he refused saying if i paid in dollares i wouldn't have paid the taxe. It's trus it was written in the conditions, but i think he should have reminded me. He didn't give me a official certificate so i never will know if he kept the money of the taxe for him or not. A thing is sure, with the taxe, the place doesn't worth the price!

10.0 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast was really good. The house is nice and I liked our room. It is in a good location. The staff is friendly and helped us with travel information on where to go on Chiloé. The wifi is good.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The homemade bread and cake were so tasty. The position of the house is perfect. The family that live in this hostel are great people with a big heart. The room and the bathroom were clean and the bed was compfy. You can feel yourself at home!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Helpful, friendly hosts. Comfy beds. Good breakfast!
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The host is super friendly. Nice breakfast. Bed and shower is very comfy. Outside is a mirador where you can see the view of palafitos.
Cons: Zero noise isolation. Staying inside the same place of the host family and can hear their kids running, sound from tv, from kitchen and people opening doors upstairs. A bit troublesome to have the staff opening door for me each time
6.3 Good
Pros: Location, wifi.
Cons: -You can hear everything from the room - kids running, family having dinner etc. We didn't feel any privacy there. -No common area or any other nice place where you can hang. Only the room which we didn't enjoy staying there. -Breakfast very poor with dry bread from a few days ago. -Foreign guests also have to pay the local tax, unless you have usd cash. If you're looking only for a bed and hot shower in the city center this place is ok. If you plan to hang a bit in the hostel area you probably have much better options in the area.

9.6 Excellent
Pros: The family that runs the place is more than helpful and super amazing and lovely. The kitchen has everything for cooking and the atmosphere is very familiar.
6.3 Good
Pros: The family, it rather the father, eat nice. Big kitchen. Confortable beds.
Cons: The rooms and the whole house was really cold! The hostel is located outside of the town, accessible only by car or a long walk. The neighbourhood is rather creepy when we arrive and the house is under restructuration. I think it should be mentioned in the description, so that the guest know where they are heading. It didn't seem dangerous at all once there, but the first impression was rather unsettling. The house is all in wood, which means no soundproofing. I had a room next to the living room, the kitchen and the TV, which meant a lot of noise until late in the night and early morning.
7.5 Good
Pros: The staff was very kind and helpful, nice rooms and kitchen facilities.
Cons: I would probably add another bathroom and credit card payment service.
6.7 Good
Cons: Not friendly. Room prices not posted.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: We had a very quick stay overnight but everything was lovely and clean.. the bed was very comfortable which made for a good nights sleep after a very long day. The owners were also very friendly and kind.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: This is the perfect place for backpackers, and the owners are wonderful, very friendly and extremely helpful.
Cons: The location is a little bit rough.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The living room and kitchen areas are logistically well-planned. Many people entered and left the premises, but the l-shaped space enabled some separation and privacy. Spacious bedroom, large, comfortable bed, and good bathroom. This place's major asset is its owner Alejandro. Although we stayed only one night, he went out of his way to make us feel at home; he even picked us up at the bus station and dropped us off there the next morning.
Cons: The location is a bit far from the center of town.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great position. Very comfortable. Helpful staff. Great view
Cons: No signage to identify the hostal from the street or street number in address. Access via a locked gate which is a problem if you arrive outside estimated arrival time.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The owner comes to pick you up and brings you back to the bus station. Otherwise the location is difficult to reach and not very convenient if it rains. The owners are generally trying to make your stay more comfortable
Cons: The rooms can get very cold at night especially upstairs but the rooms downstairs have no view.

8.3 Excellent
Pros: Location was great with a balcony backing onto the water. Easy to park and restaurants within easy walking distance. Marcella in reception was incredibly helpful and a ray of sunshine!
Cons: Limited kitchen utensils. The shower was awful- either very hot or very cold.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: This place is amazing! You are staying in one of the famous stilt houses, view to the water, spacious apartment with one bedroom and a living room with two extra beds with perfect view! Kitchen is well equipped. You walk a bit steep up the hill to reach the center, but there are restaurants nearby and a lovely cafe just a few houses down... our best stay in all of South America!!
Cons: Reception could be a bit more friendly /interested in their guests.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Excellent place and location. Good standard and very clean
7.5 Good
Pros: Very nice location. The apartment was tastefully decorated
Cons: On our last day we were woken up early by work being carried on to replace the wooden support below our bedroom. No chance of sleeping and very loud, enough to give me a headache. When I asked reception how long I was informed all morning. While I understand maintence work needs to happen this sort of work should be scheduled when there are no guests. No apologies, just told it had to happen. I felt from a customer service thus was very badly handled. If it was unavoidable then at least some warning to everyone the night before and a apology or some compensation would have not gone amiss. Even a small gesture like a bottle of wine as an apology would have helped. It meant a bad ending to our stay. Kitchen also should be revised for equipment.. Some basic item eg tin opener missing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We really enjoyed our stay. The marks were very pleasant. The place is magical in a magical setting. We really appreciated the relationship with ecology.
