Traditional three floor dwelling house on Como Lake, with open space kitchen, fireplace, two spacious bedrooms, a third one for summer, two bathrooms and a panoramic terrace at the rooftops of Acquaseria! L'Alcova, which is unique for size and extension (over 110 mq. on three floors), shares a stunning view of the lake from every front. It is conveniently located in the town center, close to all the free car lots and local shops; even the nearest beach is just 300 m. away. The rustic open-plan kitchen, fully equipped, dominates the first floor. On the second floor there are the first two bedrooms: the master bedroom, equipped with a queen sized bed, a built-in wardrobe and a cot, with a breathtaking lake view; the double room, with two twin beds and mountain view. Climbing the stairs, you will reach the terrace at the rooftop of Acquaseria and the third bedroom, with two single beds, available only in summertime. The house is equipped with two bathrooms: the first one with the toilet, a washing-machine and a small bath, the second with the toilet and a cushy shower box. And, considering that L'Alcova is part of a nineteenth-century building, there's also a secret cellar! The house is located in the old village of Acquaseria, truly in the most typical and populated area. Local shops, groceries, bar La Terrazza, Zanzibar, Bar Carlo, and restaurants Da Luigi e Creme Caramel are at your fingertips, less then 2 minutes on foot. And so do the local attractions. The free beach is far less than 250 meters. You just have to go across Via Satale and straight on: the lakeside is there! Moreover almost the main paths start from Acquaseria. Many free parking lots, without limits of time, are less then 50 meters away from the property. Even though renting a car is suggested, it isn't essential, because L'Alcova is not far from the bus stop. San Siro is just the perfect location, being at the center of the lake, between Alto Lario, Menaggio and Tremezzina. In springtime a sightseeing tour of the amazing lake "villa" is almost unmissable, such as Villa Balbianello, Villa Carlotta and Villa Melzi. A the same time you can take a long break at the restaurants, while visiting the wine cellars of the area. Essential for slow food fans is a good risotto with perch. The proper boat trip should start from Menaggio. As an alternative, from Gravedona, Dongo o Tremezzo. Beyond a boat ride to Bellagio, Varenna and the other towns, why don't you make a jump in Switzerland to Lugano and then again in Italy, Como and Milan? Talking about water sports, Cremia, Domaso and Gera Lario, with their famous kite-surf and wind-surf school, are recommended. The closest railway stations are in Colico and in Como, approximately 45 minutes away from San Siro. As an alternative, you can reach Varenna Esino by ferry boat. The closest motorway is Como - Grandate A9, approximately 40 minutes away from San Siro. The surroundings offer everything may be needed. I recommend to have a look at my guidebook on airbnb, because it is a quite accurate essay of the proper Lake Como journey!
