Well-situated hotel with great sea view from our 4th-stock room. Really nice and clean rooms with modern design furniture. We felt well throughout.
we were completly satisfied with our choose.
Room No seaview
Staff generally pleasant and helpful.Room well cleaned and a good size, large bed -a genuine king-size not just 2 smaller beds pushed together as is sometimes found.Nice spa area with good sized indoor heated pool.Good breakfast and tea and coffee making facilities in room. The biggest problem we had with this hotel was the lack of information in the room concerning how the room "worked" and the air-conditioning.For example;how does the air-conditioning work?what are the buttons on the wall for?(apparently pushing one of them gives a "do not disturb"message to the cleaners so they dont clean the room)Also, by the time we worked it all out we had spent 2 nights in a room with malfunctioning air-con which we were repeatedly told was because we were not keeping the window closed.(the problem turned out to be a sensor in the window apparently)After the second night we were moved to another room where we had no problems although we still felt that the air-con was not good enough for the ,admittedly extreme, heat.
Clean and nice Rooms, very good resturant with a beautiful view to the laguna di grado, good breakfest, frendly staff
The staff is courteous and attentive. Parking is on site in an underground garage This hotel is not a good value. The room had minimal furniture, the shower leaked all over the floor, and charging for wifi is neanderthal. The hotel is too far from the center of town.
I loved the modern yet contemporary design.... very different from the other hotels in europe. The hotel was in a perfect location for the beach as well. Well, the hotel wasnt totally complete when we were there (July 5, 2009), but i would definitly like the people at the spa to speak more english and we had a bit of trouble with the internet on the t.v.
size and style of the rooms, location, the breakfast was nice, staff at the reception, noise level in the evening due to the proximity of the next building, technical issues with aircon and lights in the room - start up issues I assume
Very clean and large room. Cleaning service twice a day. Very good breakfast. The roof bar is very fine with great view, unfortunately you can't enjoy it while sitting. It's a pity that only a view people use it. Although the hotel is not quite cheap neither sunbeds and umbrellas nor bicycles are included. We once went to the restaurant, good, expensive, but the service didn't really care for us after we had ordered. The bottle of wine was in a wine cooler 2 meters away and none ever took a look at our glasses or asked if we'd like some dessert or else.
The rooms are high-tech, the rooftop bar was good and the spa was well placed on the top floor (and not in the basement like other hotels). Hotel was well located in a quiet part of Grado overlooking the lagoon. Staff very friendly & helpful. Only gripes: Flat screen cable TV reception varied with the weather. No iron in room - had to send everything to expensive hotel laundry with indifferent results.
Clean rooms and public area. Friendly and helpfull staff To expensive for the quality and location, rooms are small, breakfast room is too dark
i had no complaints. people were very sympathetic not applocable
staff attitude, cleanliness of room and overall the hotel. On top of all quality of cappuccino during breakfast
The staff was very helpful the room very spacious and the rate reasonable, I definitely will stay again and recommend to others.
Downtown, central but absolute tranquillity. Hotel bar: out of order
Location, cleanliness, None
The staff were nice people, never saying "no" to a customer (due to lack of english skills sometimes did not help much though :). Except of day 1, the rooms have been kept clean enough. Not our worst experience, but by far not the best as well. Part of the staff (at the reception desk!) is not speaking english. Italiano only. The room which we have booked was presented by photographs in the booking system, however in reality the room was rather different; similar furniture, yet considerably less space. The breakfast offer was getting poorer and poorer from day to day. Not our worst experience, but by far not the best as well.
The owners were very nice and helpful. I liked the room that we had, a family room with beautiful design. The breakfast was good with fruit, cheese, bread, cereals (no hot food). the hotel is perfect situated for exploring Grado.
The Hotel is situated close to the airport, so for a hotel I chose mostly because of its location, i was pleasantly surprised by the outstanding staff, that do go out of their way to make your stay at the hotel as pleasant as possible. The breakfast was good and the rooms very nice.
The location is very convenient from the airport. It is only a 10 km drive and you don't have to go into busy Trieste. We only stayed here for 1 night but we like the small village and the people from the hotel were very friendly and helpfull. Additionally the breakfast was good with nice fresh products. None.
Good location - within 20 minutes of the Airport, lots of good restaurants within 5 minutes walk. Situated in a very attractive small town. Staff friendly and helpful, very good English spoken. Nothing
the hotel was fine for our one night stay, helpful staff, and good breakfast private secure parking a bonus. we found the decor a little heavy for our taste, but as we were just passing through it was fine.
Nice friendly stafff, Clean room with upgrade to superior room.
Staff went over and beyond what could be expected from any hotel of any price. The hotel is located by the city centre of a nice little town close by Trieste airport. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a place to stay prior to traveling from Trieste airport.
Hotel staff was very nice and friendly
That was my second visit to Hotel Franz, a one-night stop on the way from France to Hungary. And it was again perfect, with a special mention about the kindness and the efficiency of the staff. I will remember the perfect breakfast! Nothing
Handy parking. Helpful and friendly staff with good suggestions for nearby restaurants. Unexpected fresh orange juice for breakfast.
I liked the hotel very much because it was clean and everybody was so nice. Excellent value for money!
Fantastic swimmingpool and really close to Grado. Would really recommend air conditioning installation in all bungalows.
access to the beach, parking place noise from the road near
Nice place, but simple. No too close to the town centre, but you car hire hire a bike which is very useful. Nice staff, but far from bus stop. (20 min)
Staff was excellent. Pool was awesome. Price was right! Restaurant had great food and was convienent. There was no TV in the apartment but I knew that going in.
A lovely hotel in a terrific location. Very nice room and friendly staff. I'd definitely stay at the Metripole again.
Pleasant situation in the heart of Grado on the Canal. Nice breakfast with great variety. Front rooms must have a great view. The traffic situation: It is not easy to access the hotel by car. It would be helpful to give directions. You could say if the room you are offering is a front or a back room.
The location was the best in Grando, I looked at all the other 4 star hotels and this had the best location with easy access to the bus station and the old town, I brought a return bus ticket at the information office at the airport it was only 5 euros. The staff are friendly and the breakfast was German with itailian bread. They did have english tea which surprised me. The rooms have a plastic shower with water jets and a seat. The room was not very modern with old tv and furnishings, the bed was huge and very confortable. The hotel is only half the size of the pictured building as the end in private flats and a shop. I would recommend this hotel as the location and views was the best in Grando. The reception gave us the time table for the bus from Grando to the train station, and the train station timings into Trieste. They also told us about the boat trips. They did everything that we required.
Everything was ok, free wifi was also available in the lobby. Not the nicest Hotel, but definitely a good bang for a buck.
The room service was perhaps the best I've encountered in all of my overseas travels. The hotel was immaculate at all times and the staff went out of their way to assist in any way possible throughout my stay.
Friendly very relaxed atmosfere at the hotel with excellent services. Nice very convenient area for access to the beach.
The location is near the sea and the calm part of the city, not far from the centre. The cuisine is very good, variable and tasteful. We missed fresh vegetables for breakfast however for dinner the selection was good.
Great views from breakfast terrace and the range of food available was generous. nothing
The hotel is located in the marvellous old town of Grado cloth by the sea.
internet, location too functional
the food in restaurant was far from delicious
Very reach and nice breakfast, comfortable room, they give towel for plage, and the plage is just 5 minutes walk! Recommend!
A very pleasant environment in a convenient location. Wonderful restaurants and shops as well as spa.
location Shower area in bathroom too small
Location The room was too small.
Service and room cleanliness The nearby restaurants can be quite noisy late at night
Nice staff and breakfast, super location. Room tiny but cute and had a great view. Room and bath very small, although not too surprising for Italy. Ok for the one night but would have been too cramped for more - especially since we have a two-year old!
Hotel was clean Having stayed there 3times in past years would not stay here next year. Could not get a boiled for breakfast and breakfast was not up 2much.
There was one waiter there who was very kind and got me some coffee in the morning because I was travelling with my dogs and could not sit with the other guests. There was not much I liked about this hotel. Although the location was good, there was no parking and no indication of that in any of the information about the hotel. All but one of the staff was appalling. Slow and frankly seemed not to care, I waited 30 minutes for a glass of water and finally gave up. The room was unbelievably small, although it seemed clean enough. Stay there if you are on a budget and don't mind roughing it. If your expectations are low to begin with, you should have a fine time.
Convenience to everything, comfort of the room and the value could not be beat Parking was a nightmare. When I reserved the room, I reserved a parking space for 12 Euros a day. That was not the case. It took almost 40 minutes to find a space and then I had to move the car at 8 PM. The next day I had to get up by 8 AM to put money in the meter.
It is very central and is situated on a lovely wharf/canal. I didn't like how the toilet and shower are together. It is not very nice to get wet feet while in the toilet!!!
The position, in the old part of the city, in front of the small port Bad sound insulation. You could everything in the neighbour rooms
the friendlyness of your staff
What a little gem of a hotel! Good location, nice breakfast, fantastic views from the roof terrace.
Lovely spa facilities in the swimming pool, rooftop breakfast room, next to the old town of Grado (there is a lot of new town!) and close to the beach. (If you intend just to swim in the sea you can go at 5pm for free when the toll booths close and the gates are opened). Hotel offered airport transfer for €25. n/a
We liked the closeness to the beach and that it was located in old Grado
Good location for summer holidays. Poor breakfast
great location, good breakfast cramped and uncomfortable rooms, unequal hotel updating, pretty indifferent staff
excellent location in the centre of the old town. all areas had air con. lovely clean room. very pleasant and helpful staff
The rooms were very clean and the chamber maids very pleasant and friendly. The breakfast buffet had a wide choice of foods to suit every taste. It was in an excellent location close to shops and restaurants.
very centrally situated difficult to find if approaching by car
the centrality of the hotel, good breakfast, nice & clean rooms you will have to park in a short-term parking zone (5,50€/day)
nice room with aircon. the hotel and area is very family and couple based.
