Horrible process to pick up your cat

won't use this company again
Cons: Bare bones rickety vehicle, over charged and mislead about the toll road transponder, agent gave wrong directions for where to get car, had us walking from one end of the terminal to the other and back twice, when I asked he laughed and said "oh yah I have you the wrong directions!". Haha, not amused. "Get what you pay for" was in effect with this agency. They never could tell me what the total cost would be, and didn't email my receipt as they said they would, so I still don't know how much I was charged. I don't trust them at all, will not rent from again.

Get what you pay for
Pros: Low cost
Cons: Long wait time to get car: though there was no line the manual process to rent me the car took over 15-30 minutes. Their systems might as well be in ms-dos because it involved a lot of unnecessary checks and inputs by the rental clerk on paper and in their computer. The Nissan Versa didn't have automatic door locks or windows. Didn't think roll up windows still existed.

Easy check in
Pros: Once the paperwork was gone I went to lower level of airport to pick up car which was in the next row.some car rentals you have to go search for your car but this location easterly accessible.

insurance was added even though I declined
Cons: I verbally declined the insurance. Then was told to initial a bunch of different boxes on an electronic signature pad so fast that I couldn't read them. Then my bill included the extra insurances. Poor form.

Pros: Absolutly nothing Worst rental agency I and others have ever experienced< nuff said!!!!!
Cons: aon arrival at the booking counter we icked up the necessary paperwork and proceeded to the rental pick-up area and presented the paper work to the attendant.he immediately mentioned that they had no cars available .I then said how can that be we have a confirmed reservation,he then said it would be at least an hour and maybe longer before he may have a vehicle . He was not helpful in the slightest and was not at all concerned.. In addition the rental facility was a filthy dirty mess. As we were standing their talking at least 6 more renters came to the pick up area and were also quite upset, I then told him to cancel the reservation and he immediately saih he could not do that and we would have to go all the way back up the the sale counter to have our $200 dollar deposit cancelled. We then drug allour luggage across the parking lot and into the terminal and went to the sales counter to cancel our deposit.Before leaving thr pick up area I quickly walked a short distance to the national pick up area and simply picked out any vehicle I wanted and we were ready to hit the road within 10 minutes. Wow what a difference a well organized .professional rental agency they are and we will continue to use then for future travels and not go through kayak for the rental Now would you like to ask me anything else about our rental experience??

Closed before we even got there
Cons: Our flight was delayed by 20 minutes. They weren't even there for us to get a car. No call, no warning, just a locked door and lights out. Unacceptable. Budget rescued us. I wouldn't trust this company. Apparently, this has happened often with them.

Pros: Service was very prompt and stress free!
Cons: The first car we were given was covered in ants. We went back into the office and the young lady working the counter was wonderful, allowing us to quickly change to a different car. The car we ended up taking wasn't cleaned or inspected very well, there was spilt coffee on the steering wheel leaving it very sticky.

Unable to cancel
Pros: Absolutely nothing
Cons: I needed to upgrade my vehicle and I wasn't able to. They did not even attempt to accommodate or help me in any way and refused to speak to me on the phone. I lost $60 over it as well. I will NEVER rent from anyone but the big chains.

Pros: Had to upgrade to a more expensive car as we were on an earlier flight than originally planned. They gave us choice of any higher upgrade they had for lowest upgrade price
Cons: Got in a little early and had no car. Had to upgrade to a more expensive car. Did not tell us much of anything about toll system and paying them

College visit to Orange
Pros: I liked the convenience of picking up my rental car at the airport. The location was convenient to my daughter's school. The car was located close to check-in point.
Cons: When I arrived at the check-in counter, the computers were down and the young lady behind the desk said there was nothing she could do to help me. After a moment, they fortunately started working and I could get my car. The car had deep scratches on the back end that I couldn't see upon pick-up due to the dark lighting underground. The windshield had some sort of film, from cleaning possibly, that made it a bit foggy/smeared when the sun hit it. The car overall was worn and I will not be using Advantage again because I have had better experiences with other companies when paying the same amount.

No cars available at our reservation time
Pros: A couple of the staff worked really hard to find a car at another rental company. Once a car did come in, it wasn't the type we reserved (better) but they gave it to us at our reservation price. Quickly got the car ready.
Cons: Several of the staff just stood around behind the counter or in the office checking their cell phones. Didn't get involved.

Cons: Despite having a reservation, they had no cars for myself and 8 other people. The people working there offered no solutions.

Pros: Reserved a full size sedent but the only car available when arrived there was a mini van, a mustang convertible, and a suv.

Cruising the California Coast in a Drop-Top Pony!
Pros: Originally went for a economical ride to drive up the coast, but ended up upgrading to a nearly new convertible red Mustang! The guy at the counter in the airport convinced me to do it. Glad I did. Pickup was simple and easy, but dropping off was even simpler and easier with the same guy both times in the underground parking lot/office! It was way too cool! Loved the experience! Gas mileage wasn't bad (26mpg mixed average) for a Stang. It had power when needed to overtake or go uphill, and sipped gas when cruising the streets and highways. Great time with a great car and my great girl!

Tired of dishonest agents
Pros: It was quick, convenient, and suited our needs.
Cons: The agent at check-in tried to 'scare' us into buying a 'toll' package which we did not need. The worst was her dishonesty in telling that we would have a wait if we wanted the class of car I had booked (weeks ahead of time). I said we would just wait. As soon as we checked in at the office where the cars are, that person said "There's you car." NO WAITING! What a scam attempt.

Cons: Needed a 1 day extension and a request was put in after multiple phone call attempts but an email was never sent whether the extension was approved or not. I was charged double for the day until I went to the counter and talked to the manager. I tried 15 times to reach the Santa Ana advantage desk and no answer.

Cons: Pick up line in Santa Ana moved unacceptably slow. One person working the counter with a long line while other car counters had at least two employees and no line. Would not rent at this location again due to this inconvenience.

Cons: There was no car available when I arrived. I had to wait 30 minutes before a car was available.

Pros: Everyone was friendly and helpful and things were ready to go as planned.
Cons: The rental car location at John Wayne Airport is somewhat difficult to find. This of course is not the fault of Advantage.

Last minute rental made super easy!!
Pros: Quick and easy to do
Cons: The woman when I dropped my car off was rude I found the previous renters payment slip in car and it was half the price of mine. I asked for the cheaper rate and she said no and walked away.

Pros: Rates were very good. Very convenient to Orange County, CA airport as they are on-site.
Cons: Kayak information states that the rental center is off-site which it is not. I spent some time waiting for a shuttle to take me to the off-site location only to find out they are located on premises. Kayak - update your site - they have been at the airport for years! Seats were a bit dirty but overall car was fine.

Given dirty car 6,000 miles overdue for oil change
Pros: The only good thing I have to say is that making the reservation was easy.
Cons: We were not told up front that Advantage would be holding $200 on my credit card as a deposit until we got to the window to pick up the car. The entire rental didn't cost $200! Second, the car we were issued was filthy. Because we picked it up in a really dark garage, we could not see just how dirty the interior was. The car handled terribly. My husband didn't even want to drive it. It was so far out of alignment that the tires were balding unevenly, and the oil light kept coming on because the car was 6,000 miles overdue for an oil change. BOTTOM LINE: I'd almost rather walk than use Advantage again.

GREAT car for the price!
Pros: Snagged 4 days of a small Kia sedan (no idea what model) for just a little over $50! Car had about 30,000 miles on it, but ran perfectly. Pickup easy, drop off even easier.

Cons: All was average except the guy was doing my check in made fun of my name and kept goofing around even though i mentioned that I was extremely in rush & "no. My name pronunciation is xxxx" (a few times) Talk about manners. please grow up. You are at work, sir.
