nothing no service
The location was good. It wasn`t noisy. There was refrigerator. There was water in the balcony because of the aircondition?
the location The owner needs training on how to use a credit card machine - we ended up having to pay for our room in cash.
Staff attentive and responsive Beds were hard & lumpy. You easliy felt each spring.
slept only becuase no services offered Hardly any staff available only for about 2 hours each morning to get payment for room - no breakfast or services offered because of lack of guests.
central location we didn't find anyone at the reception at arrival (evening of 31st dec), they left keys at reception desk. in fact we saw somebody only at the moment of paying! room was not particularly clean.
perfect location, lovely room, lovely setting, easy reach to everything in town.
Great roofgarden, very nice view, excellent location, value for money Furniture, noisy bathroom ventilation, bathroom not very clean
room size, decent shower, air con noisy neighbours, ground floor and poor security, recption ;ady asked us when we were leaving as we walked in the door. Older gentleman very friendly
Central location and cheap.
Great value for money, convenient location, friendly staff, rooms were cleaned every day and sheets/towels changed.
After the accommodation we came from this place was a palace! it was clean, air conditioned, private, great location - close to the port and the shops - and had its own private bathroom. Some breakfast would have been great as there's obviously no kitchen facilities but otherwise all was fine,
Excellent rooms within walking disctance of port and bus station to beaches. Central for all bars and restuarants in town, excellent value for money.
Excellent location. City centre but far from the crowd. 5 min from harbour. No welcome. Not dirty but not clean neither. No privacy at all (Hotel is very noisy - u know precisely what the neighbors do...). No reception at Esperance2, you've to stop at Esperance along the harbour first.
The hotel is nice and clean, conveniently located: easy to reach the bus station and port; staff is very friendly.
very good location, very nice and helpful owner the shower in some rooms is tiny
close to the port No internet in the rooms,no breakfast,no 24h reception. There is a petrol service station right next to it! Very medium quality hotel.
The family staff of Esperance were very warm and service minded. Though we had some language barriers, we walked away with a favorable experience. Uncomfortable beds (2 small twins instead of 1 queen). Woke up to no electricity or water in the morning. We were told this was an island wide problem, but we saw neighboring hotels with power on.
Although the staff did not speak much English, they were very friendly and helpful. The room was very clean with a great view. It was very hot - air conditioning or a fan would have been good. Also, there was a lot of noise from the port and road outside.
No nonsense, simple clean hotel. Just as you may expect, but not too often get. It's not as much the hotel, but more the city of Ermoupolis...: it's not that special and industrial.
Its overlooking the main street which just so happens to be on the port... very noisy.
Very close to restaurants, shops and the ferry port. Right at the main road which can be quite noisy.
The owners/staff were especially accomodating; the hotel is within a block or so of the ferry; after we checked out we sat in the lobby and worked on a very good internet connection; our baggage after checkout was stowed at no extra cost; we had a balcony overlooking the sea! Continental breakfast was extra cost and I would not purchase this in future as the cafes are close.
Location is SUPER convenient to port, public bus, restaurants...pretty much everything. Staff is also AMAZING!! Each one of them are so warm and helpful, it's more like they're hosts vs. staff. Nothing really, would be an even better hotel if they had a pool.
Very friendly staff, nice rooms, calm location, wonderful pool, sattelite tv. We were there with our son of 10 months and it was really perfect for us. The wifi connections are difficult.
Very nice view, calm location near to the town, wonderfull pool area and clean rooms.
Very helpful Lady at reception outstanding Very nice only a bit of a hill to your room
A fantastic hotel and staff they really did everyhing to make our holiday perfect. Rooms and cleaning spotless. we would absolutely go back again, even thoug it is a bit in the middle of nowhere. Approx. 15 mins. walk to the beach and 5 km to the city. but plenty of taxis and there is also a bus every hour.
Great insider tip in a quiet beautiful location with fantastic sea view, very clean, helpful staff. We had very nice holidays. We recommend this hotel at any time.
Very well equiped rooms, great sea view and not very far from the island town Breakfast did not have variety, but this was maybe it was a low season and did not have many guests
The staff embody the atmosphere of the Greek Islands. The hotel is in a perfect location, and after settling in to the atmosphere, it makes the holiday worth more than the room rate. Nikole at reception was fantastic, and enthusiastic. I hope to stay at Maistrali again in the future.
A family hotel, well run with excellent service Everything was perfect,
Really nice and clean hotel, with a wonderful view of the sea. The stuff was extremely friendly, the room spacious and the breakfast great and more than enough - great quality bread and cake! I definitely recommend this hotel and I would stay there again in the future - a great value for money choice! Minor things could be improved, like the range of the wi-fi signal and the lack of fresh juice (instead, concetrated juice was served) and honey at breakfast.
The family atmosphere and Tony and his family's willingness to do whatever he could to help.
kind friendly staff and owner, room serviced every day , central location near to beach and bus stop in to town.
Less than 200 meters to the beach! Owner very helpful. it isn't located in the main city. It is in a samll village, with not that many choices for food.
We stayed in this hotel for 7 nights. All members of the family were indeed pleased with this experience.Starting from the warm welcome showed from one of hotel owners(Tony)who showed us around and helped us in every detail. One free bottle of cold water and two colaccos(traditional greek bread)to start the day and one souvenir in our departing day.A very tidy hotel with all needed facilities, room cleaned everyday.Tony even provided us a toaster and a small camping cooking gas.Very comfortable beds.Conditioner and fridge provided were quite useful for a lovely breakfast and a cool afternoon coffee after a very hot day in the beach which was very close, only 5 minutes stroll.Would definitely love to return back there again.Strongly recommended! The only negative point was the absence of a showerhead holder.
The location is very convenient and the people very friendly.
First and foremost the helpful and genuinely friendly family who owned and ran the apartments. Clean and comfortable accomodation inc. working air con, fridge, T.V, hot water. Amenities close by, literally minutes. Come here to find totally unsophisticated relaxation.
Very friendly staff, location (50metres from the most beautiful beach in the island), next to tavernes, super market. Also very clean.
Very clean. Very close to the beach
hotel with great view and peacefull enviroment for relaxing. very clean poor breakfast
The location, the terrace for breakfast and the very helpful staff. It was expensive for the facilities on a small greek island. We had a similar hotel in athens for the same price.
Very nice people that owns and work at the hotel. Fantastic view from the hotel rooms. Short distance to the beach (25 meters). Very nice beach. We could not find any bad points after our stay.
Excellent value for money. The owners were very welcoming and helpful - they phoned when we were on our way to ensure we knew the route from the port to the hotel. Our room was stylishly decorated and very comfortable with a great bathroom. Christos (the owner) gave us some good advice on restaurants and bars and was very helpful in terms of checking bus times etc on line. Breakfast served in the room was a selection of lovely fresh bread, nice jams and good coffee.
excellent location near a small beach but also beautiful pool with plenty of sunloungers. Simple and comfortable rooms. Lovely buffet breakfast and good bar snacks and drinks available.Nearby to plenty of good tavernas and only 15mins to port, with a free pick up and drop off service offered by the hotel. Staff very welcoming. the air conditioning in the room was a but noisy.
The room was good, clean and shiny Breakfast
Good location near the beach. The swimming pool was nice. Staff was friendly even though we often had to ask twice/three times for the same thing. Despite 'recent renovation', the shower was (tiny and) old. The breakfast was of poor quality. The cats were everywhere (which was scary for us having a tiny baby) and eating off what was left from the plates at breakfast. The rag at the balcony was filthy. We booked the room with kitchenette but the staff did not provide us with pots and plates and, when asked upon, only gave us a tiny pot (so we gave up altogether.
The airconditioning didn't work properly, the TV had only 3 channels, the bed was full of sant when we got there and the bathroom had a terrible smell.
Quiet, swimming pool, kindness of the staff The electric installation is don't look really secure.
it´s next to the beach, clean, staff was very friendly and helpful you could hear all the noise from other rooms and from the corridors, slamming the doors etc.
Close to the beach Was not a big fan of the cockroach that was in our room on arrival. Also it would have been nice to have been transfered to the hotel. It was the only hotel in our stay in Cyclades that did not provide this service for us?
locaton, clean very nice rooms with a balcony, very friendly staff
The staff were very friendly and the atmosphere very condusive to relaxation we were looking for. Proximity to the very nice beach is a big plus as well as the local tavernas. no
Our room was well air conditioned, very clean and very comfortable. The view from our balcony was lovely as it overlooked the beach. The hotel was not only perfectly located for a lazy beach holiday, but with its own underground car park and prime situation within Finikas it is also perfect for exploring the rest of the island. The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. I would highly recommend this hotel and will definitely return.
I enjoyed the warmth and helpfulness of the staff, the delicious breakfasts, my balcony to enjoy the lovely sunshine of Syros, and a very functional and pleasant bathroom. I liked the location of the hotel; next to a good swimming beach and looking out over Finikas harbour. No
This was probably the nicest hotel we stayed in on Syros. It's a stone's throw from the beach, a 2 minute walk to the village centre, a one minute walk to the bus stop. Some people we read didn't like the fact that it's on the through road, but it's not a busy road and we enjoyed sitting on the balcony watching the world go by - plus the windows are excellently double glazed.. The rooms are lovely with some nice touches by the caring owners. For foreign visitors arriving by air, it would be nice if Greek island hotels offered beach towels.
all is bad all is bad
Excellent service, beautiful atmosphere and location. Very close to the port, city square, shops, restaurants and nightlife. A very pleasant experience overall!
the view from the room, owners politeness
Excellent hotel, value and great location ! None !!
This was a beautiful hotel and the hospitality was the best! Our view of the water right outside of our window was magnificent. We couldn't have asked for a better place to stay and the staff was awesome. The location was great and was an easy walk to the city square, restaurants, and shops. The hotel was so luxurious. There was a rooftop bar that was a great spot for a night cap.
The hotel is a small, family run hotel on the waterfront in Ermoupolis. It is slightly confusing to find, and once you arrive the only name plate is in Greek. Once inside the owners are very friendly, and they are obviously keen to establish this location because it's not been operating long. The rooms are spacious and decorated well. There is a rooftop verandah with a bar for sundowners. They also give you complimentary snacks with your drinks. A nice touch. The breakfasts are quite limited - lots of bread and cakes, but cereals and cooked options were not offered. Parts of the finish let the hotel down if it wishes to be considered 'luxury'. The shower cubicle in our room was a joke, wobbling all over the place, and too many little finishing touches need rectifying. Having stayed 2 nights we were the only occupants, and so spoke to the owner about extending our stay, if he could reduce the price. He did offer to lower slightly, but not to what I considered was a fair rate, so we left. I can't believe a hotel when they let their only guests walk away, we would've happily paid a more realistic price.
This recently opened hotel lies very close to the heart of the city and all the activities, but has a quiet location. It's absolute luxury and the owner is very helpful and charming person. Rooms are spacious, quiet and the beds the softest of Greece, I think :) The breakfast terrace and the sunbathing platform will be ready for the season. It will then be a complete 'oasis of luxury' ... Thanks for the free upgrade! None
We loved our stay at Hotel Alkyon -- Jack and Katrine and their daughters and neice went out of their way to make us comfortable and to help us navigate the Isalnd. Lovely place, lovely people who spoke English with gusto! Go!a We loved everything.
i like the view, the place, the staff, the swimming pool and very qouiet place all was very good
Family-run hotel with cozy, homey feel, and inclusive staff. Lovely deck, pool and bar. No telephone for international calls, no internet unless guest brought his/her own computer. Bed was made very simply, with only a bottom and top sheet, and one pillow. The closet contained one blanket, which was starched stiff.
what we liked most about our stay at the hotel alkyon was the relaxed atmostphere, the friendliess of the staff and the quality of the food been served the only small point which we did not like about the hotel was the size of the bathroom, the shower was very small and there was very little storage for toiletries
The hotel was absolutly lovely,as were the staff. They were so welcoming! Its in a great locat
