The location and landscape. We got a big apartment with lot of space. Ferry quiet. Poor cleanness, dated furnish , lot of mosquitos, Not what you aspect of a 3 star hotel. A bit messy.
The hotel is a country hotel which suited our purpose. It was comfortable and friendly. The proprietors were helpful. The food was good. No
The room was nice Hotel staff was nonexistant, Restraunt in hotel is only one in town and was closed both days, Credit card machine did not work except using a EURO card. Was asked to pay for our stay late at night. Complete disappointment in our stay there. When we checked in I had to track down someone in the kitchen to get a key to our room and never saw another employee the remainder of our stay including at breakfast.
A very comfortable hotel, friendly and helpful staff. Isolated but in a beautiful village that is surrounded by forested valleys.
This is a wonderful hotel. I would recommend it to anyone. You need to have your own transportation because it is a little out of the way but the area is beautiful and well worth the drive. Their restaurant offers great food and song. We plan on going back the next time we are in Germany.
good localization, good breakfast, silent lift and room without dust
Staff were friendly and helpful. Good location. Curtain required repair. Television badly located in room.
I arrived early, but the staff allowed to storage my baggage into the hotel. There is a mysterious picture on the floor in a corner of the room.
It had an interesting flair, the the lower floor with the breakfast room and to some extent the stairway displayed some classical flair, 19/20 century. The lady who was there in the morning was very friendly and very attentative. No phone in the room. Only a little phone booth in the hallway without a number for this phone available. Since after eight there was no one at the reception, no one could call me. The main entrance door closes with a really loud bang if you don't close it slowly. It kind of shakes the whole building which is especially disturbing at 1 AM. The group of drunkards coming home early in the morning and letting the door slam did not help.
Very comfortable, lovely courtyard, close to Altstadt and other attractions. Friendly staff and good breakfast.
A lady was very kind.
There was a great selection for Breakfast. Large rooms, good location They made me pay in cash, I was told from this site I could pay by credit card
it is an old house in an old area it is an old house hence no elevator
Everything was excellent,
Good personnel The hotel is under reconstruction and full of dust! Getting to my room on the 4th floor (no lift) meant climbing through a construction zone! I have asthma and a broken rib. This was a painful and unhealthy experience.
the breakfast guests have to pay for the htel parking
It was clean and quiet. Room was small as compared to others I stayed in. Did not like twin beds separated. Breakfast was good.
confusion and expensive brekfast expensive brekfast 15 euro person in not came again
The room was spacious, the breakfast was very good.
Staff was very hepful and polite, hotel was very clean
you need a car if you stay there...
Staff very friendly and efficient Poor location if you want to go into the city
Personnel were very helpful, and breakfast was very good. No elevator, therefore not handicap friendly; outrageous prices for internet use.
It is clean and quiet. There is no lift. We have to carry our luggage to go upstairs.
I llike the comfort, the breakfast and the hotel facilities. When I made my reservation online I checked not smoking room. In my check in I was given a smoking room. Of course, the reception clerk changed the room, but he said the hotel is not obligated to follow the guest options.
I thought that the staff was tremendously helpful and very knowledgeable. I enjoyed breakfast and the overall cleanliness of the hotel.
Everything was great. Great location.
The hotel was "Perfectly" located close to everything like public transport, old city, restaurants, shopping and also easy access to main attractions of the city. The rooms were clean and large, staff friendly and concerned about our satisfaction and needs.I Would give this hotel 10/10 None actually.Just that carpet was not clean in some places, we could see dark spots.
Friendly staff with excellent command of multiple languages Nice shower with great water pressure
Very clean and comfortable. Right in the centre. Need an alarm clock. Also can be a bit noisy from trams and people out late at weekends
Room was very pleasantly decorated. Just across street from Hauptstrasse to walk in old city of Heidelberg Hotel garage was a little difficult to get in and out of.
Room was large, neatly decorated and had a very modern large bathroom as well. The room was consistently hot and when you try to cool it off by opening the windows you were faced with a smell of burnt food mixed with cigarettes from a restaurant next-door. Do not stay in a room facing the courtyard. Our room was 126, which was particularly bad. Additionally the hotel walls appear to be very thin and we seemed to be able to hear noise from all over the hotel.
Overall cleaness of the hotel Tv was not working.
The hotel was conveniently located. The room was very large and clean. Overall we thought it was a great value.
great location, the room is big enough for us, and the internet work very will.
We battled to find the address
Excellent position, nice staff and comfortable room. Very good bakery really near the hotel with buttered pretzels!
Hotel staffs are really nice! And I like the breakfast there~ keep it up!
Every room has a different design. Nice and friendly staff. Good breakfast buffet.
Staff were very friendly and accomodating and the on site Bistro was very good, with reasonable prices and good service.
Nice hotel, especially the inner courtyard is very peaceful and a blessing on hot and humid summer days (coupled with the lack of A/C in the rooms). They say it has been renovated 2007 and you can definitely see that! The fact that the staff includes one French and one Italian waiter sure increases your chances to communicate (they also speak English). Very nice staff. The hotel is rather far away (>40 min walking, trams get you there rather fast, though) from the historical city center. But it is somewhat close to the Cancer Center and that's what mattered for me. There's not much variety in the breakfast menu (without being too scarce, either), but I understand that for a small hotel it's hard to have too much of an offer (and just a handfull of customers).
very nice staff, lovely rooms
Restaurant is really good. Apartment is huge, lies in a very quiet part of Heidelberg. Very friendly staff Rooms needs to be updated. Bathroom is outdated, and does not function properly. Price is too high
Fantastic atmosphere - a real pearl of a hotel
Hotel was clean and tidy. Also had good character.
Small friendly family operated
i only liked the view there 1. when i first arrived no one check me in. 2. i wanted the check out befor my departure date and they did not agree to setle and wanted me to pay the full amount. 3. they do not clear my apartment unless i tell them so and if i was not in it they just tidy the beds an go. 4. they came to the appartment and tok all my empty water bottels without telling me. they told me that the internet cost 3 euro per day and then they charged 10 euros. they told me when i ask for a washing machine that it is ok to use theres and when i put 2 load they told me it is 15 euros per wash.the owner told me to change my departure date so that booking.com wont take chargers for my full stay. the rooms are too small. there are no window shutter and it is noisy.
Friendlyness Parking your car is a nightmare
The restaurant is good. Hotel is oriented towards local German travellers. Staff spoke very little English. Not much guidance available for planning city trip.
Room was so beautiful! Staffs were so kind. no freezer...
Our room was large and light and pleasantly decorated. The bathroom was okay, and it was only a 23 minute tram ride to town (plus 5 minute walk to tram stop). Staff were pretty friendly and the restaurant was nice/somewhat plush. The area was a little industrial - Leimen is a bit of a whole in the Earth but it is very handy and the surrounding villages are nice. Given the roomy hotel and the nice development of the hotel grounds, you would have to otherwise pay a fortune for a similarly spacious hotel that wasn't in Leimen (there is nothing all that wrong with Leimen, it is just not as nice as much of the rest of Germany). The cuisine suffered from the typical lack of imagination when it comes to preparing gourmet food (i.e., the dogma that nice food needs to have one, or all of the following, in it: wine, meat, or goats cheese!). If you are a vegetarian wowser (as we are), maybe you should eat in town (though perhaps not in Leimen).
The spa facilities were good. The environment was quiet. The breakfast is OK, but a little bit overpriced. The day after the first night, the room was not done. The whirlpool in the spa area are not free of charge, although on the website it is indicated that the spa facilities are free of charge for hotel guests.
Good value for money, good size rooms, comfortable beds, quiet location and a very nice restaurant.
The hotel was new, the room was very clean, rather big for Europe and comfrortable. Spa fascilities were great. No airconditioning - it was hot and the hotel shoudl have AC at least during the summer months. Lack of at least a small pool in the spa to cool down. Must be a perfect place toi relax during cold weather months.
I loved that our room had a balcony that looked onto the courtyard NA
The rooms were spacious and clean. The property was elegant and comfortable. The staff was friendly and helpful. Nothing really negative. The location is a little bit weird since it's next to a ciment factory, but that did not have any effect on our stay.
Nothing was too much trouble for the Staff. Due to the lack of Air-Conditioning in our Room, they cheerfully provided a Fan when we requested one.
Nice hotel, good service.
good location, extremly friendly staff
It is very close to the center. Like a family hotel... Parking place is terrible. and very expensive 25 Euro for 1 night.
Rooms were nice and clean and not too small. We even had little chocolates on our pillows when we arrived! It was a very nice hotel in a good location. Would stay there again. Pillows were really thin.
Family hotel feeling. Very quiet.
The location of this hotel is good. However, it is not possible to park a car besides the hotel. Also, there is no lift facility.
It is a good location. My wife and I found this b/b a most depressing place. this is not a hotel, just a very bad guest house. reception and dining room compares in size to a fone box. no lift. terrible climb to top floor. inches of dust under our bed. poor breakfast. flash gorden tv with 3 channels. no reception after 8pm. if you need something or you loose your key your in big trouble and you will not get a contact fone no. for anyone. we could only get 1 key on check in.
proximity to oldtown compared to other hotels the breakfast was very basic
The hotel is well located in the city center, and it's in the middle of the shoping center and other important sites in Heiselberg.
Very close to shops and transport but on a quiet street. Only short walk from the river and the castle.
Good location (about 100 m from the main plaza). The building seemed to be recently renovated. Staff was nice and friendly. Wireless internet connection did not work well, though it might be due to my computer. There was no elevator so I had to carry a heavy suitcase to the 4th floor by myself.
Staff excellent, very helpfull. Breakfast great, lovely setting. Location perfect right in heart of old town.Parking on site. Wi Fi kept dropping out, staff tried hard to correct the problem.
friendly staff; parking facility; excellent breakfast; location; n/a
Friendly and helpful staff. Superb breakfast. Nice rooms. Great location. Just off main street. Highly recommended. Nothing.
Staff were always attentive and friendly.
Great breakfast, room size was small, but no smaller than a typical B&B in Europe. WiFi worked well in our room and down in the lobby.
This was one of the best hotels I have ever stayed in and I will definately be staying there again when I go back to Heidelberg. It was spotlessly clean, comfortable, well equiped and the staff were really nice and very helpful. It was also in the perfect location and although it was just off the main shopping street (Hauptstrasse) it wasn't noisey. I can't recommend it enough. Nothing.
Good location with parking, good breakfast. nice room
Everything about this hotel was excellent. I especially liked how my room opened up to a charming little roof garden (even though I couldn't use it). The staff were also exceptionally friendly and helpful.
Super nice staff
The locasion is good, the staff was excelent and frindly, what do you need more?
breakfast bathroom a little bit smealy
Staff very pleasant. Ideally located for public transport into Heidelberg. Nice, bright room. Higly recommendable.
The room was good value, clean and with all necessary facilities.
Quiet environment. Good for people with car. A big supermarket beside where you can get cheap groceries A bit far from town if it is short trip for travellers by train
The woman is really nice. no
The hotel has good room facilities considered the good rate offered in Heidelberg The location which is far from train station and town but travelling by the frequent tram service to these places is easy.
price is fair
Clean, hot water,traffic No breakfast
The staff was very friendly and helpful. Beds were comfortable and rooms were clean. Rooms offered lots of storage areas for luggage. The reception is not staffed for large portions of the day, which we had not realized. We had not understood how necessary it would be to have access to a telephone in order to call and get the code to retrieve the room key, and as trans-Atlantic travelers, did not have an operative mobile phone at our disposal.
the convenience of the location to the Familia Center. nothing everything was good.
I looked for 3 thing: Price (excellent), close to work (10 minutes), and free internet (advertisement said wired in the common area but they do have wireless - much better). The one staff member I encountered was very accomodating and spoke English. No restaurant but there were several cafes in the Family Shopping Mall around the corner. I've already booked another stay for business. Initial external appearance - grass needed mowing which belied the clean orderly interior. Would liked to have had a refrigerator but used an ice chest so it was not a detractor.
We received a good welcome from the staff and had a nice room, though the en-suite shower and WC was tiny. The breakfast buffet was good. The website mentions a restaurant. This was disappointing. We had a meal on the first night. It was a set menu, without any choice offered.
We were warmly welcomed. We had difficulties to get there by GPS but the direction by phone call were very helpful at late time in the evening (2200). Beds were comfortable and breakfast was nice and neat. Environment was gorgeous for early morning hiking
Very charming. We got the true flavor of Germany by staying here.
silence too expensive for this kind of hotel
Quality suroundings, amenities & location.
Great location, just a few minutes walk from the centre. Good personally service and excellent decor.
It's location was perfect oberlooking the old town which was just a 5 minute walk away. The hotel itself is excellently presented and the staff are extremely professional. It offers a spa which we didn't use, rear gardens with a summer house and jaccuzi again we didn't have time to take advantage of these facilities. Room very comfortable and clean. The fact that the carpark attached to the hotel was charged to you at at rate of 15 Euro's per day. It is incredibly small and I feel that the charge was unneccessary given the cost of the hotel.
it was a marvelous hotel very fine designed which covered all my expectations , small but fine . tip ask for a suite over viewing the river !
Beautiful & attentive to details decoration; outstanding & proactive guest service;
The hotel has an amazing view over Heidelberg and includes stunning rooms and really friendly staff. It's a little on the pricey side
The location is perfect because it is quite central in the city but very quiet at night. The breakfast buffet was quite disappointed. The cost was much higher than its value.
Hotel was very helpful. Gave us a map and told us about all the sights. We did not eat breakfast there because of my diet but, they brought us coffee every morning. We enjoyed the uniqueness of the hotel and location a lot.
People were freindly, nice. Place was clean. Breakfast was good.
The kleen room. The cable T.V. The parking place for our car. The nice welcome by the reception The fact that there was no air conditioner, while the weather was very hot.
Very welcoming and helpful staff. The hotel is close to the main attractions of old Heidelberg. Also close to many shops and restaurants. Convenient car-parking available.
Management exceptionally helpful and generous, it was a pleasure to stay at such a friendly hotel
The friendliness of the owner and staff. Super location in the old town.
Helpful staff. Even the not so quiet room was quiet. They even had a weighing scale for me to weight my luggage and so that shop accordingly and not exceed airline limits. I did exceed that limit but at least it helped :)
I appreciated a lot the kindness and helpfullness of the staff. Also, the room was very clean and the breakfast buffett nice.
The room was a very good size and clean. There was no information pack, no complimentary toiletries, no extra blankets, no evening bar service
view from the window and nice staff, excellent bearkfast a bit easier access
beautiful view, comfortable, right above the Schloß without a car, this is a difficult place to reach, one can take the Bergbahn, but that only goes until about 4:45pm, Taxi is possible, but of course you have to pay. Unless you want to spend the whole evening indoors, you either need to walk 30 min on the steep road or call a Taxi.
It was quiet and the sunset from the terrace was lovely. There is no view of the castle. The rooms are very shabby and having seen 4 rooms before settling all had broken equipment.
Good location and views, overlooking the town. Hard to find from the town without satnav. Rooms are tired, 70's style. Breakfast was 9 euro extra and only a small buffet. Only one member of staff running the whole place at any one time.
Nice place, Wifi free of charge The shower was old, no hair-dryer, no soap. I had ask for a room with Wifi, I didn't had -> I had to change the room
The staff is helpful and kind. Rooms are clean and comfortable. I really appreciated the presence of the bottle of water in the room.
Very, very nice location with beautiful view at the Heidelberg. Not really,
Beautiful spot above Heidelberg Castle. Great staff. Doesn't have internet access in the room or main area
The location near Heidelberg Castle.
It was a good size room . I particularly liked the condition of the décor and I found that it was very clean. I also thought that buffet breakfast was good value
I stayed in apartment: the room is massive, it is quiet, the breakfast is good The furniture is cheap and the carpet needs updating (very much warned out). The cookery utensils are cheap, knives and forks have a slight rust. Still, for the price paid this is a very good value hotel
The breakfast was excellent and the price was reasonable. It was easy to find and we enjoyed not having to pay for parking It was very warm in the room on the August day that we were there and the hotel did not have air conditioning,
A nice clean hotel good breakfeast easy to find and good value for the prices of the rooms.
Rooms that are on bottom floor that faced the parking lot in the rear.. The bushes could be cleared and the small patios could be cleaned up.The one room was like being in a cave..Also rooms are in need of new carpeting.Staff was real friendly and helpful.
Nice staff; Good breakfast; Free parking; Free internet Internet was slow; Strnage, there was not cold water (only hot)
Great accomodation quite close to old city (about 20 minutes). Good internet connection. Our room had windows opened to very busy street, during hot night, the room was very noise. I will recommend installation of AC.
Clean , fresh and well appointed ; good value for single traveller Limited reception ; rooms spread over several buildings - entrance cards for some of buildings problematic requiring phone call or visit to hotel across the road
Our spacious and well appointed room was provided with a big lcd tv and a comfortable kitchenette. The shower was quite large as well. Very nice!
There was no curtains other than transparent ones so you wake up with the sun..
When booking hotel accommodation, our preference is for a smaller hotel preferably with family management. The staff were most welcoming and the accommodation left little to be desired.
Very well located, clean, warm and quiet. Well equiped with cooking utensils, iron, etc. Very nice breakfast. Breakfast in a different building. Cleaning of the room failed one of the two days.
Comfy, good location, friendly staff. Lots of steps to get luggage up to the room.
My husband and I liked the spaciousness of the room, closet, and the bathroom. We also liked the clean and cozy neighborhood and the great restaurant called Hugo right across the street. Also there is an excellent cafe right next to the building where you can pick up breakfast from an assortment of pastries and bread.
Modern studio with small kitchenette and spacious bathroom ideal for single person on an overnight or extended stay Beds 2 single but arranged as double - had angular protusions that due to the space often caused toes to be stubbed or shins to be scraped when moving around . Assessment based upon single occupancy - space would be cramped for 2 & room price is per person so value for money suffers in comparison with alternative accomodation.
