Great location, beautiful garden
Nothing to report
The hostel is really nice. Right next to main street where the umbrellas are. Staff is nice and explains you everything that you want to know. It was quiet at this time of the year which I've appreciated. Reception hours are a bit odd (maybe they are more consistent in the summer). You can walk from the train station to the hostel with no problems.
Breakfast was really simple and ended up having breakfast at the cafe on the corner. Much nicer. With proper bread, a nice latte and some wonderful cakes.
Great place to stay and value for money
Location, curtained partitioned bunks with own lights, comfortable bed/bedding/pillow, and cheery dining space. Staff was helpful. This hostel only had several guests, so we essentially had our own rooms. I was the only one in a ten bed mixed dorm room! Enjoyed that and appreciated this gesture.
The toilet areas are way too small. I’m a 5’4” woman and my knees hit the door when seated on the throne. I can’t imagine anyone any taller being comfortable. Showers are small, and hooks (over door or wall) as opposed to screwed in (which had been tried and apparently failed) would keep dry clothing protected along with towel and toiletry bag. There was only one drying rack outside, which worked well on this trip, but that wouldn’t do it for a full house!
Good location, good atmosphere, on the way to Camino de Santiago,
The Hostel consists of 4 dorms of 6, 10 and 14 beds and 1 family room of 4 beds (1 double and 2 in bunk, by 58). The dormitory for 6 people has 2 single beds and 2 bunk beds, with a cost of € 24 / bed / night. We have 2 dormitories of 10 beds in bunk beds, a female (€ 22 / bed / night) and a mixed (€ 20 / bed / night) and a mixed dormitory of 14 beds in bunk bed (€ 20 / bed / night). There are 2 bathrooms mixed and 1 female and one male. It has a fully furnished kitchen, a dining and living space. The entrance consists of the reception and a bar. In front of the building there is a small esplanade and in the back a large and pleasant interior garden. Breakfast is included in the price charged. Public parking is one minute away from the Hostel. Águeda Hostel & Friends is located in one of the main streets of the old town, two minutes walk from the river, the municipal market, several restaurants, bars, supermarkets and traditional shops.
