Price, location and space. Excellent value for money for family travellers. Hotel directions posted on website slightly inaccurate for the last 0.4km.
Very nice to have a kitchen and separate bedrooms for 4 people plus a small room for our baby. Rooms were clean, though spartan. Very good value and easy access to autoroute. Beds were extremely hard and bedrooms only as large as the bed. Futon for couch not the most comfortable for sitting or sleeping.
Spacious independent accommodation. Secure parking.
close to main route
We had roaches in one of our rooms and the rooms were not private and we felt a bit unsafe.
Good location of hotel with plenty of shopping in vicinity. Easy access from motorway. We stayed in an apartment/family room with 4 beds. It was spacious and our kids really liked it. Good parking facilities and we were able to park just outside the entrance to the house. All equipment and radiators switched off when we arrived. It took a couple of hours to heat the room up which was not good arriving in the evening with young children, There were also a couple of broken light bulbs so we had to move table lights around.
Staff responded promptly to my email enquiry requesting information about late arrivals and access to the room. The keys were left as explained in the email. The information on the hotel page on the booking.com website was not accurate. There was no flat screen tv or Wi Fi internet. The rooms were cold and the furnishings were tired and shabby. The kitchen was supposed to be equipped for 6 but there were only 3 glasses and insufficient of other items. There was no toaster or grill pan. There was no breakfast available and no access to the fitness room. The hall ways were very noisy and other occupants coming in late could easily be heard. The reception was not open during the stated opening hours. There was no information available about local facilities eg restaurants
Very spacious, clean and peaceful. A kettle would be a welcome addition!
We used the hotel for an overnight stop on the way from the UK to Italy. It was excellent value for money as most French accommodation will only allow 3 people per room which puts up the cost. The apartment was easy to find, easy to access and we liked the gated car parking. It would have been useful to have a kettle and toaster in the kitchen.
Although it was freezing when we arrived there were good heaters in the rooms. The room was very dirty the carpet was not vacuumed. The oven had the leftover food still in it from the last guests. The sink, walls and table were dirty-the garbage bin was revolting. There was no privacy - if you opened the heavy security metal screens on the windows then all other apartments could see in. There was no Wifi or flat screen TV as stated in the website-we waited all evening for someone to drop off the required cable to have a wired connection-it never arrived. We booked for 2adults+3 children-the third child bed was on the heavily stained sofa bed-which was broken underneath-we had to request a mattress cover and blanket. This hotel is in an industrial park-there are no redeeming views. This is not a cheap hotel.
Room was very comfortable, perfect for a stay while traveling south Breakfast was very poor quality
it was close to Zenith the shower curtain was dirty and smelled, for €14 the breakfast was pretty poor. A basic chain hotel at 4* prices
Ease of parking, easy to find the Hotel without going into the town, next to shopping Centre.
Quiet location, as long as you keep the windows shut in the early morning Very run down rooms, well worn, but hotel is undergoing a complete restoration at present
No hassle Outside parking not as secure as I would have liked.
Friendly staff, clean rooms , nice restaurant , good value for money
Ideal for check in at any time. Great for long journey from UK to South of France as not in central city yet convenient to motorway and nice clean quiet room with en-suite. Air con was noisy. Cost of meal / drinks were high so we ate next door in the shopping arcade. Holiday Inn should provide food in line with their 3 stars. Breakfast was ideal - self service with a range of options - at a 3 star level
Good value for money; large comfortable family room for four, helpful, friendly and efficient staff. Part of an out-of-town shopping complex with a very large supermarket, so useful for stocking up. No problems!
Te easy way to reach it, the quality of the hotel.
its always very comfortable and quiet. Good safe parking with so many good restaurants and cafes nearby we would not pay the Holiday inn prices
The room was spacious and pleasant The location of the hotel was disappointing in that it was in a commercial complex most of which appeared to be closed down.
Best hotel ever. Clean - great pool - spa. Helpful staff. I'd stay here again. Loved it. Loved everything.
I thought the hotel was excellent. The rooms are comfortable, clean and so charming. The staff was friendly and helpful, and I was impressed with the class of the establishment. The nights were quiet and peaceful, I truly was able to rest and relax during my stay. I highly recommend to everyone!!
Location and staff Room a little small but ok
Great location. Friendly staff. Staff recommended a good restaurant. Facilities a bit old but clean.
In old town centre. On site secure car park.
very good position in dijon and staff excellent no
Right in the heart of town. Lovely room with a very clean, modern bathroom. Room was a litle cramped but that was because we had an extra bed. Beds confortable. Rooms heating. Staff very friendly. Free street parking on Sundays.
Redecoreated, spacious, clean and confortable room. Non-smoking rooms have smell of cigarette (there were smoking gests on them)
The staff were very friendly and helpful. The tv was good, there were a lot of channels. The room was clean also. Maybe there could have been a kettle and some teabags, milk and sugar to make tea in our room. Also, some more pillows would have been nice. Everything else was perfect!
Staff were very friendly, Hotel was ideally located, room was very good
Good location, very close to the train station and to the city centre. Quiet room. Internet works well. We were two people but several days staff only left one bath towel!
Bar closed too early - we arived at 10:45pm and it was already closed
nothing accept for sleeping - breakfast was ok they were not rude but unhelpful and it was a bit old shabby it didn't feel as though it had been thoughly cleaned for a while but it was tidy and neat
Very convenient very clean
very friendly staff & just a stone throw away from the city centre the room was clean but old, a renovation would be nice. the parking is quite narrow.
Location is good. The room was very nice, but a litle oldfashioned. You have to ask for the parking lot key every time you need to park your car. And the entrance for the parking is in an other street, behind the hotel.
The room was very clean and quiet and we enjoyed a very nice continental breakfast served in the room - with no additional charge - Difficulty to open and/or close the windows and shutters
The breakfast was very good and the desk staff was excellent
Needs upgrading to withstand their status.
Courteous and helpful staff The shower had very poor water pressure and the surface of the bath was extremely slippery and dangerous
Luxurious room, friendly and helpful reception staff, good location Bar staff mostly absent and were not attentive
Nice location, close to city centre.
A great, clean, comfortable and central hotel and with free garage parking! Restaurant is well worth a try, also. Will stay again for sure!
the restaurant poor satellite TV
Excellent location, friendly staff, the room is great (roomy, clean, nice lcd tv), esp. the beds, which are extremely comfortable (what they call "mybed"). Even though the price is not too cheap, we still find it's great value for the money.
Very convenient location to the old city, close to good restaurants, very friendly and knowledgeable staff .
This is a lovely hotel in a lovely city. The hotel is in a great position for shopping and for seeing the sights of Dijon. I would highly recommend this hotel.
The staff were very accomodating and the location was great The lifts!!
Know what to expect, expect Sofitels to be excellent! Usually have great resturants - Dijon's had an excellent one. The staff were very helpful..
Centrally located. Large rooms. Flexible about requests. The Air conditioning did not work properly in one of the two rooms I booked.
Great location right in the heart of town. Small but nice rooms with big windows and views. First room was not clean and had drapes ripped off the wall. Was quickly given a second room but card key system for electricity wasn't explained so I didn't have power the first night. Great potential for this place but not very user friendly.
Great location in the heart of Dijon. not a great view, but nice rooftops.
Location is excellent, kitchenette is convenient for travel with young children, good and helpful staff. Parking is public, so need to walk from parking to hotel that may be inconvenient if you have luggage.
Great central location, friendly helpful staff, clean & tidy, value for money, good facilities - jug, microwave, etc. Room smelt of smoke.
The location ... The room stunk of cigarrette smoke. It was stale and had permeated everything. We left the window open all the time and the air conditioning but the smell was so strong that it never disappeared. It was a disgusting room. The beds are fold away, sofa style. The toilet was like one that is found on trains and areoplanes. The bathroom smelt mouldy. It was a disgusting hotel and I would not recommend it to anyone,. We moved onto the Ibis which cost us less and offered outstanding value. It was immaculate.
Central, large room, well priced Dated bedding/beds, carpet, due for tlc
We loved this little place! It's situated in the heart of the historical area and has a view of historical alleys. It has a kitchenette and we were able to make some home cooked meals. The room was roomy, comfortable and very pleasant! Nothing to complain about!
Excellent location, adequate cuisinette so that you can have your breakfast in your room, spacious rooms This time the staff was not able to help me with ordering a pizza...
The very comfortable large rooms with kitchen facilties, great location, very helpful staff. There was a problem one night with loud noises from the plumbing which we realized is a problem with certain rooms. We were very helpfully assiged a different room for that night.
My partner and I are vegetarians and while in France we found it very difficult to find any food that did not involve meat. However, the restaurant manager at this hotel was very sympathetic and arranged for a meal to me made that was not on the menu. Fantastic! The only complaint I have is that the room smelt slightly of damp.
Excellent Restaurant Rooms were dull and in need of updating.
Swimming pool was just the thing needed after warm trip Restaurant very costly
The restaurant There was no indoor pool as stated on booking.com and was the whole reason for us booking this particular hotel - so we were extremely disappointed.
More or less central, City-Ticket included, staff very friendly and helpful, room not too small, gratis parking. Interior fairly outdated and needs some renovation. Breakfast is not usual quality you will find in Mercure. Would only recommend if not charged full price. Otherwise you find reasonable and comparable room for less.
Good location, lovely room and wonderful staff None
Very modern, clean rooms. 10-15 minute walk to the historic centre.
The hotel is clean and the staff is kind A bit far from the city center more expensive compared to other hotels of the same level where we have been in France
The location and the friendliness of staff
Close to rail station and city centre. Hotel was excelent for the price. Nothing specific.
Big room, friendly receptionist. Leaky shower, shabby breakfast room, broken coffee/tea machine at breakfast.
The location - this hotel was two minutes walk from the bus/railway station (which was convenient) and five minutes walk into the town centre. Shops and restaurants nearby. I requested on the booking form "A room with a view (if possible)" but was given a room with partially opening frosted windows. The room was gloomy and smelt of cigarette smoke. The 'view' was of the fire escape of the adjacent unoccupied building. I asked at the reception to change rooms, which they did. The second room was bright and airy, with double opening windows, small balcony and a good view. The breakfast was expensive for a cold buffet. €8.50
We apreciated the kindness of the staff and the cleanliness of our room. The only thing that we dind´t like is that the hotel is not so close to city center as we´ve imagined. It´s about a 10 min. walk.
Location to the Train Station. The furniture in the room had been updated but shame the walls were not painted, they looked cracked and dirty , plus mould on the shower door. Also the walls are so thin I could hear the person in the next room thinking!
This is a good hotel very close to the main train station - less than a 1 block walk. Also convenient to stroll to the historic downtown. The tram that circles the city stops right in front. Marvelously helpful clerk at the front desk. The breakfast is the bare minimum that one might expect.
Very clean. Decent pool. Strong WiFi in lobby. Reception switched us to a room that received the WiFi signal. Across the street from the gare train station. Walkable to sights in Dijon. Most rooms don't receive WiFi signal. Rooms are very small. We stayed July 2010 and there was loud road construction just outside.
Comfortable room, good facilities The only drawback: the parking of hte hotel is in a different place.
The town was alive with a music festival, when usually Sunday nights are very quiet. Also friendly and helpful staff. Turning the power switch on, that just looks like another light switch was not obvious.
Very close to the city center. The hotel has no parking but the have and agreement and you can park 24h for 6.5 EUR.
Large room; comfortable; staff very helpful Street noise
Excellent room, good location and parking.
We found the hotel ideal for exploring Dijon, the location being on the free bus route is a bonus. breakfast was adequate but could be improved by using a local boulangerie.
Free easy parking; cheerful breakfast staff. Small room (called Superior); outdated bathroom; stained lavatory
The hotel was very nice and very comfortable with very helpful staff. The breakfast was very good.
Good central location, but in one way system. Attractive central courtyard. Room much smaller than expected, overlooking busy street; took upgraded room overlooking courtyard. Dinner: food over complicated and not wonderful.
Hotel was spotless and staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Restaurant was not cheap but prix fixe was very good value for money. Well situated for old Dijon and very pleasant courtyard garden. Very quiet. Only previous point about needing better map or directions from station.
The room was quiet, clean and comfortable. We arrived around 21:00 and was looking forward to eating in the restaurant but it had closed minutes before.
Located very close to the old centre of Dijon where sightseeing opportunities are best. Restaurants were in abundance.
Location and parking The room was far from what I anticipated a 'superior' room to be. It was cramped and dated with a small double bed. Glad I was staying for only one night.
Clean, modern, quiet Nothing
Staff very pleasent and very helpful. room was warm, welcoming as was the large and very comfortable double bed. No
It was clean and convenient for the main motorway as well as being close to the town by taxi We went for breakfast in the morning which started at 7 am but at 7.45 they had no more eggs and when we asked if they could do more they simply said no! As we do not eat meat we didn't have much of a choice
Convenient location near to motorway. Ability to check in up till 23.00. Good level of service. Plentiful breakfast buffet.
Nice hotel, great location
Free WiFi. Easy to get to from the motorway if you are driving. Five minutes drive to Dijon town centre. Very helpful staff. The maid came in a bit too early and woke us up on the first morning! The bathroom is basic and small but does its job
Clean room, comfortable bed, good shower. Breakfast adequate but i.e. no boiled or fried eggs. Perfect for a night's stay on your journey. Not as close to the highway as they make it seem. Pay good attention to the roadsigns and roadnumbers.
The food in the restaurant was of an excellent standard. The hotel looked like a prison
easy to find and pleasant staff room very cramped with extra bed.
Hotel staff was friendly and helpful. It was also very nice to have opportunity to prepare a hot tea at room. I tried to watch TV in the evening but it shew some text in French only.
The decor in the shared spaces and the backyard bar-b-que gave the hotel a feeling of comfort. The kitchen was well equipped and there was a great boulangerie 2 doors up. The initial difficulty of getting in and out of the building as there is no one on reception between 12 and 2pm and access is only through access code. A few more instructions about access when booking would have been helpful.
Nice staff, excelente location,, charming and spotless
Lovely hotel with French charm. Quiet and relaxed. Very secure parking. Good location in huge square with park and fountain.
good location for travelling through Dijon, easy to find
The hotel was clean, in a good position to visit the city and has an interesting look if you want somethin rustic and quirky. It was about a 15 minutes walk to the town center. The staff was ok, some could speak italian too. There is free parking in front of the hotel if you want to leave the car outside otherwise you could book parking in the internal yard but there is a fee for that. Overall it isn't a bad place to stay in if you don't mind small spaces and you are happy just with the basic services. The room size. It was very small, you could barely move around. The bathroom is tiny, you have to leave the door open if you use the sink because there is no space watsoever. We also think they made a mistake with our room and gave us a standard one rather than the privilege one. The air conditioning wasn't wworking properly and if you leave the window opened you might spend a noisy night.
Exactly what we anticipated from the web site - clean, atmospheric, friendly, helpful staff, good location. No complaints - good value for money
The room was really good as it had been recently refurbished. It appears the refurbishments are taking place progressively through the hotel. Parking was easy to find close by althought that may be because we arrived on a Sunday. Annoying that while check in was advertised as from 3.00pm the reception did not open until 5.00pm the day we arrived.
The price and the location The beds: the matrasses are very hard for the back; the rooms are extremely miniscule.
The location is very good The staff were also very help full. Ithinkthe breakfast Pricesfar to expesive and that makes you loose bussines from custmers who are alread your guests.
Staff very friendly and helpful.
this hotel is wonderful, and pascal is a gem. my room was spacious, clean, simple but almost modern in its design. brand new/renovated. probably could have paid much more for what I got. highly recommended
We had a great stay! Dijon is a beautiful city and this hotel is just 10 min walk from the historical center. We stayed in a renovated level of the hotel (just 8 days after it was completed). The room was small but clean, modern and neat. Ask for the top level room, when you book. (They are renovating more end this year) The hotel owner is a friendly French man and he will answer all your questions and provide you with a city map. We took no breakfast -too simple to be worh 6 euro!
We stayed in a newly decorated family room, which was very clean, tidy and comfortable and a good size. The staff were very friendly and helpful with parking and supplied ample information about the town centre, restaurants etc. The hotel was situated in a pretty and quiet road but within walking distance to the town centre. I had a wonderful night's sleep there. There is nothing I did not like, but I don't think all the rooms have been decorated to this high standard (yet?).
Upon booking, we requested a room with bath. We arrived at about 4 PM on a bank holiday and hotel reception was closed until 5 PM. When we returned later in the evening, the only room available was with a shower. This room had been renovated and was very clean, but also quite small and noisy. We requested to change rooms the following day and we liked that room much better. Renovated, quiet, with bath and a bit larger. We stayed at the hotel for 3 nights and thought it offered good value for money. Very basic (including the breakfast), but all fine if you take into account the room rate.
It was good value. Simple hotel, but everything was ok and breakfast was included. It was not easy to find a parking space nearby. 2nd floor was under renovation.
Very good location with easy parking. Very helpful staff None
