9.8 Excellent (381 reviews)
Overview Reviews
With a stay at Giardino delle Zagare in Piazza Armerina, you'll be within a 5-minute walk of Domus Artis and Casa Museo del Contadino.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The gentleman was absolutely lovely, very welcoming and helpful, the place is beautiful, very clean and the breakfast was perfect.
Cons: The lady wasn't very happy with the time of our arrival but travelling with children is not always the easiest.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: A beautiful gem of a garden perfectly imagined and maintained. It was quiet and serene each time we relaxed in it. The breakfast was superb with freshly baked pies and pastries. And the owner and companion hauled our bags up the charming street!
Cons: Can’t think of a damn thing.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This was the pearl in Sicily! So beautifull so friendly and in exellent place! If We ever Travel even close to this town this will be our choise! Thanks!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Nice garden, beautiful rooms and friendly hosts. Also it is very easy to find a parking spot nearby
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The beautiful garden full of flowers and shady places to sit; the delicious breakfasts prepared by Morgan; the responsiveness and kindness of Alessia who came to meet us by a church because the b+B is in a quiet corner off the main street. Every need anticipated and met in the room. Free or very reasonable parking nearby.
Cons: We liked everything
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Lovely place, great and helpful hosts, sumptuously appointed room, great breakfast. Hell on earth to find: the satnav is fairly useless in a medieval town. But the neighbours were helpful, and Morgan reversed the car out of the passage...
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Wonderful and helpful host. Beautifully appointed and decorated rooms.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: A very central location in Piazza Armerina. If you are driving make sure to communicate with hosts before driving into the city as they will guide you to local parking (2 euro for 24 hrs). If you don't, your sat nav will guide you down increasingly narrow streets as mine did until you reach a dead end. Thankfully our host was very adept at reversing and got us out of the jam and drove us down to park car. Accomodation is exactly as photo's on this page, tastefully decorated, super clean - bed great, breakfast great. I would definitely book Giardino delle Zagare again if visiting Piazza Armerina. A visit to see the mosaics at the Roman villa are a must - they are breath-taking. Local restaurants are reasonably priced and our hosts were helpful with advice.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast prepared by Morgan was the best we had in Sicily. We are very grateful that Morgan met us and helped with parking and with our luggage. Our room ( the Orange Room) was quiet and beautifully appointed. We also loved his suggestions for dinner and wine tasting.
Cons: Nothing. It was just perfect.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The ambiance is modern, creative, light and welcoming. The owners and staff were incredibly pleasant and helpful. Breakfast is excellent and varied. The garden area a delight to retreat to. Brilliant place!

Pros: Very warming welcome ! We advise you to have dinner with your host.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Dinner by Ettore is magical and not to be missed. Dinner was a true Italian experience. Room was very clean and comfortable. Breakfast was another amazing experience.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Ettore and Ines are fantastic hosts. They prepared a fantastic italian dinner for my wife and me. Only fresh vegetables and fruits from Ettoles garden were used. Delicious. In the morning the feast continued in the form of a great breakfast, with Sicilian cheeses, Ettores tomatoes, eggs, croissants, different meats, pastries and home made marmelades. The rooms, are clean, have a nice bathroom, TV and WIFI. This B&B is ideally situated for a visit of Villa Romana del Casale.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Our room was clean and very comfortable. Our hosts were very welcoming and attentive but the main draw card was the food. For 30 euro a head our host prepared a beautiful multiple course meal which we ate in a family setting. A definite must.
Cons: Direct communication was difficult but our host was well prepared with Google Translate at hand.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Nothing is too much trouble for Ettore and his wife. The rooms are spacious with modern bathroom and air conditioning. As anyone who has stayed in an Italian B & B will know breakfasts are fantastic, but Angelica is exceptional. Ettore also offers a fantastic home cooked dinner & wine for 30 euros a head.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This is a very special place to stay as Ettore and Ines are such generous hosts. There is the option to eat dinner there and Ettore is truly a wonderful cook, although we were in danger of serious over-eating. Breakfast was also a morning feast. Ettore was also very generous with his time in making sure that we saw the best of the town. A unique experience staying with an Italian couple.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Stupendo! This is what B&Bs's should all be! The property is central, so you can easily wander the town on foot. Ettore gave us a ride to Villa Romana del Casale, as the bus was not running (thank you!) Our double room was clean and comfortable. Wifi was lightening fast. Our meals were exquisite! Ettore was a former chef, and the food was plentiful, fresh, and tasty. Ettore and Ines were warm, welcoming, and genuinely passionate about making our short stay in Piazza Armerina the best. Spend a night in this small town just to stay here!
Cons: Nothing.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Located in an old house in the very center. We felt ourselves like being guests in an Italian family. The hosts are very nice, we were kindly proposed a free ride to and from Villa Romana del Casale. Excellent breakfast, have not had anything like this in my life but this is a real pity I can't eat much in the morning and could not try everything...
10.0 Excellent
Pros: exceptional food, service and location, though the host only speaks italian. but he has google translator which makes communication easy.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Wonderful food - for breakfast 6 different types of homemade jam. Selection of cold meats and cheese. Also fruit and cakes. On one day also homemade ice cream. We arrived in the evening and were cooked a traditional 4 course meal with fruit and deserts. The town is near to the Roman Villa which enables you to get there before the coach parties.
Cons: Cannot think of an improvement - it was like being part of an Italian family. Think we put on a few pounds of weight due to the great food.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Nice stay in a farm close to Piazza Armerina and Villa Casale. Room and bathroom are comfortable and the B&B has been decorated with old farm and family goods - great idea! Nice breakfast with fresh local products. Host is very nice and gave many suggestions on what to see and where to eat in the region. Grazie!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The donkeys were so cute. The breakfast was amazing and I loved the design of our room. The beds were as comfy as other reviewers suggested. Easy enough to get into town as well. Very quiet spot.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Mario, our host was savvy and very helpful. The property was aesthetically pleasing and the rooms had an artful contemporary flair. It was fun to stay outside of cities for a day. Breakfast was delicious and full of options. The bedding was very cozy and the surroundings were peaceful. I would recommend this location and b&b to all of our friends.
Cons: I would have liked a comfortable chair in the bedroom and a full shower door.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Not enough words to describe the owner for the kindness and willingness to help. He knows the whole area and all his advises were gold. Nice place outside the town, but very near. Excellent breakfast.
Cons: nothing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: A nice place, furnished with imagination. Good breakfast. Lovely location with views.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very nicely appointed. Newly renovated and Salvatore our host was lovely and full of helpful info.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Salvatore is a great host. His house is a newly renovated farmhouse on a big patch of land (includes his donkeys) on a plateau outside town. The house is full of quirky design features and bright colours. Spotlessly clean . Lovely bedding and super bathroom/shower. Lots of helpful advice on places to visit. Secure free parking on site (locked gate). Wonderful breakfast offering (the best in our 2 weeks in Sicily).
Cons: A bit out of town which means you need the car to go out to eat in the evening (approx 5km / 10-15 mins' drive). Payment is by Cash only.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The B&B is a refurbished farm located just outside Piazza Armerina. The owner speaks English very well, which makes communication easy (as we do not speak Italian). The entire place is nicely decorated with a lot of attention to matching details that make the picture perfect. Due to its location it is also very quiet at night. Rooms can be heated during the shoulder seasons and cooled during the hot summer with the installed airco unit. The B&B would also be great for families with children with toys in the garden as well as the friendly dog, the horses, the donkeys and the goats in the backyard. Breakfast was plenty with local specialties made with products from the farm. The must see is off course the Roman Villa (Villa Romana del Casale), but there is also a 8km walk which you can do and Piazza Armerina is nice for a short visit as well. We had an excellent diner at Trattoria Al Goloso, which was advised by our host.
Cons: Nothing. No issue for us but only cash is accepted.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Wonderful place with very nice people Everything was perfect
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Do not miss the breakfast prepared by the host, everything was fresh and exquisite.
Apartment Picasso - Piazza Armerina - Bedroom
4
9.7 Excellent (108 reviews)
Overview Reviews
Apartment Picasso is in the heart of Piazza Armerina, within a 5-minute walk of Casa Museo del Contadino and Museo della Civiltà Mineraria. Free self parking is available onsite.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The apartment is quite spacious, consisting of one bedroom, a separate kitchenette and living area and a separate bathroom. The price was great and I felt that we had good value. However, we had to climb 3 stories to reach the apartment. The stairs were quite steep and rather narrow. The owner helped us carry up our 2 trolley bags which was really helpful. Given the price, I say make this point not as a complaint but to draw attention to folks who would have difficulty negotiating 3 stories of steep and narrow stairs Though climbing 3 stories is not a problem for my husband and I, it can see it being a problem for folks who are less mobile. I was unaware when I booked the room that I had to climb 3 stories - either I missed it in the description of the property or it was not described.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The aparment was very big, clean, with everything i migh possible need available. The localisation was perfect, in the middle of the city centre everywhere was close. The view from the windows was stunning, a free parking nearby. Very fast internet. The host was very friendly, helpful and patient (we were lost in our way and arrived late).
Cons: Everything was perfect
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Neat and artsy, comfy beds, clean towels, great shower and amazing view.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Roberto was there to meet us and carry our cases upstairs to the apartment, which has everything you could want, including a washing machine to use after a week on the road. Parking 100 metres away so easy. Restaurants and bars within easy walking distance and quite wonderful. We stayed one night to visit the stunning Villa De Castale with incredible Roman Mosaics. Thank you Roberto a great host.
Cons: All good and like it says, it's on the third floor, but Roberto takes care of everything.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Everything else is great.
Cons: It is on the 3rd floor. If carrying heavy luggage, it might be hard.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Nicely furnished and spotlessly clean. Roberto was there to meet us and was really helpful. Location is perfect for restaurants and seeing the town. We stayed 2 nights so that we could get to the Roman Villa early and we were the second couple there and had the place to ourselves for a while. By the time we left about 20 coaches had arrived so we recommend getting there as the site opens.
Cons: Lovely apartment - nothing to dislike.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Comfortable well equipped apartment in central location.
Cons: The hot water didn’t work properly and we had uncomfortably cold showers.
10.0 Excellent

Pros: Lovely towels, linen and bed covering along with many personal touches.
Cons: Nothing to speak of.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great stay. Love the location and had a wonderful meal at the owners restaurant nearby.
7.5 Good
Pros: I think I answered this on my iPhone.... however, it was really central and a few minutes walk down the tiny narrow street to the main small square and to a restaurant (two) infact, both good . The old house is one in the cobbled street reformed and well done and the owner Sonya could not be more helpful. there is heating inf the form of an hot/cold air conditioner which we needed ... and we had a large space. Breakfast was fine, the usual pastries and fruit a little and cereals and coffee/tea.etc.,
Cons: The situation of the typical old house was difficult if you are driving and have suitcases to load as very narrow. Any elderly person with walking or stairs would have a problem... as there are wide easy stairs, but quite a few!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: room was very nice,in a good location, staff were friendly and nice,we would definitely recommend this place.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Good breakfast. An attractive building in a convenient location in the historic centre.
Cons: Being a historic building, it was, inevitably, not equipped with a lift and had long flights of stairs. It is on a street which carries considerable traffic, and therefore somewhat noisy.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Comfortable room, last stage with beautiful city views , good breakfast
Cons: Too many stairs, narrow street in the front door

Cons: Nothing we didn't like. Some may find it too far from the town but the 10 minute walk uphill home after dinner was a good way to work off the meal!
9.5 Excellent

Cons: Nothing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Angela was an amazing hostess who obviously wants her guests to thoroughly enjoy their stay with her, and that's exactly what we did. A great location just outside of the historic part of town, but totally walkable. The pool was a bonus which we took great advantage of every afternoon. Our room (with balcony) was large and well equipped and it was lovely to be able to sit out on the balcony with a coffee in the morning or a glass of wine in the evening looking across to the old town. I couldn't recommend this B&B more.
Cons: Absolutely nothing.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Very quiet location and huge rooms. Secure parking. Good breakfast. Pleasant staff. We used this as a stop over to visit Piazza Armarina.
Cons: The nearest restaurant is a good walk down a steep incline. However, the restaurant is super!

Pros: Villa Clementine was a wonderful place to stay - a beautiful family villa , in a lovely garden with welcome pool to cool off after a day of travelling. The location is convenient to town and to the Villa romana del Casale, though we were driving. Rita was very welcoming, friendly & helpful. Pros: beautiful villa, pastoral view. just a few minutes from the center of the town. we got a separate house inside the garden, a clean and comfortable room. In the morning Rita, the hostess of the villa prepared a delicious breakfast.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: - The most important at this location was the lady of the house, Rita; her friendliness, welcoming; she made you feel at home and did everything in her power to make you feel comfortable. This was a big house, owned by her and her husband and you were welcome to stay in the living room with the other guests. We only stayed one night (we made a tour around Sicily and such was the planning) but I would have loved to stay longer. - A super breakfast; and what was not on the table she would get for you. - Private parking (no looking for a parking place in the surroundings
Cons: - the weather (when we were there it was raining) but it didn't matter - inside it was comfortable

Reserve the suite if you can. Gardens and pool were wonderful. A true haven. Rita makes you feel at home. She is an amazing host. Secure car parking on site. Breakfast was extensive, savoury and sweet, including wonderful fresh baked cakes, local seasonal fruit, eggs a la minute and an array of cold meats, cheese, yoghurts and fruit.

9.3 Excellent
Pros: It is very close to Piazza Garibaldi and walking to restaurants and conveniences is easy. The owner was most helpful. The street numbers were confusing so we parked the car and walked a couple of blocks to the location thanks to Google Maps. After we checked in the owner went to get his car and had us follow him to find a nearby parking spot. Breakfast was terrific!
Cons: Could hear every sound from neighboring room.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The location was great for me. The host and his family were extraordinarily helpful in helping me find out how get to the Villa Romana del Casale. The host was kind enough to pick me up at the bus stop when I arrived and his daughter dropped me off there when I left. Each breakfast was a wonderful feast of local fruits and cheeses and was an absolute treat that made getting out of bed a pleasure. My room had a lovely balcony where I could sit in the late afternoon and morning and enjoy the views and the tranquility. Piazza Armerina is a beautiful little town with great restaurants and wonderful gelato just a short walk from the B&B. I would definitely stay there again and again. The whole family takes real pride in every aspect of the operation. Definitely 5 stars.
Cons: Absolutely nothing except for the fact that I could only spend a few nights there because of other commitments.

And the breakfast was more than adequate.

The rooms were very clean, comfortable and cosily decorated, with nice balconies overlooking the roofs of the historic centre, the location was excellent and the host had a parking place reserved for our car outside the B&B. And the most important was Giorgia, the host; a wonderful person who did everything so we would be comfortable. She made a great breakfast for us with everything fresh -fruit, ricotta cheese, prosciutto, etc. She gave us information on what to do in Piazza Armerina. All in all it was an excellent experience. Great value for money!

Pros: Great breakfast with regional specialties. I especially liked the apple strudel type breakfast pastry made with fresh apples, walnuts, and lovely thin crust. Room was great, wonderful shower. Delicious food but we ordered way too much.
Cons: If you do not have GPS or access to Google Maps, it may be tricky to find. Our phones did not get GPS reception in Piazza Armerina (US Sprint with international plan, which is normally a great option for anyone who travels a lot to Europe, by the way), but my wife speaks Italian and she was able to get us directions.

9.3 Excellent
Pros: Good place to stay in the city, LOVELY staff (they are GREAT) and the facilities are nice and new. The parking is easy and can be free in front of the hotel (blue zone you have to pay, but non blue zone is free!)
Cons: The slight negative is the hotel is on one of the more frequented roads in town and you can get a bit of a street noise. We had a room facing the street and I used my ear plugs and it was fine.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The bed was super comfy. The place was so clean you could eat off the floor. Amazing hosts and great breakfast spread. Highly recommended.

Cons: All was good.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We have been traveling in Sicily for 2 weeks now and this was our favorite B&B so far. We had a whole apartment to ourselves.
Cons: There was nothing not to like. Maybe the double flight of stairs to get to your door. You have to be able to walk. No lift.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Obviously the accommodation is brand new: an exquisite mixture of old-fashioned and modern stuff in a room with very high ceiling and old-fashion window frames, on the 2nd floor of a residential building (mind the stairs if you come with a lot of luggage). Our room was spacious and the bathroom brand new and modern. The owner doesn't live there and brings the breakfast from town, even if there is a kitchen and a storage room; there is thus no buffet contrary to other B&Bs. We were the only clients during our stay and had literally the whole flat for us. There are a few parking places for free in the street.
Cons: The street along the building is paved with large pavements and the noise coming from the tires of the passing cars is quite noticeable, especially in the silence of the building or at night time. The owner and his daughter speak scarcely English even if they do reply in a proper English to their mails.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Quite large rooms and decorations are new and pretty. Breakfast is quite good!
Cons: The hosts don't speak English, but are so nice to communicate with help of mobile translation and guesture.:)

Pros: Lovely rooms and Breakfast. Excellent help in planning and choosing spots. Excellent host.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Great location in the middle of a medieval town. Hostess is charming.
Cons: Hostess couldn't make breakfast that day. The wifi wasn't working, although the hostess let us use her cell phone as a hotspot. Parking was difficult, as usual for a B&B in town.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Lovely B and B in the heart of the old city. Very warm welcome from Alessandra who speaks good English. Cheap parking on tne street not far away. Very good breakfast.
Cons: Hard to find: start from Piazza Garibaldi, take Via Cavour then follow Alessandra's directions.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Ambiance:cosy, spacious, friendly and kind. The host. Flexible checkout (sick baby), free baby bed. Tapas/appetiser. Gave her number if we needed help or information in Sicily.

9.5 Excellent (93 reviews)
7.5 Good
Pros: Very clean and spacious room!
Cons: If you really want to explore the city piazza armerina, it is quite far from the b&b (35 minutes of walking).
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Despite the lack of shared language, this accommodation experience was wonderful. We were warmly welcomed, our room was large, well appointed and basically new with a quality fit out. Breakfast was generous with Italian breakfast items such as cupcakes but also there was bread, cheese and salami plus coffee, tea, juice. Our hostess, Lucilla had a number of brochures and business cards for local recommended dining. We chose to eat at La Locanda in front of the Cathedral (Via Laura de Assoro) and it was excellent and good value. The accommodation is set on top of the hill with the town set down the sides of the valley below. We were able to walk down to the old town in about 20 minutes. The Cathedral is on the hill opposite from the accommodation and made for a good walk in the evening. We stopped for some great gelati on the way. The old town should be avoided with a vehicle unless you have experience driving like James Bond in narrow alley ways. We parked on the street in front of the accommodation and it was all good being a residential area with little traffic at night. We found Il triclinio B&B a convenient, inexpensive and very hospitable stay for a visit to Piazza Armerina.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: for old cities like Piazza Armerina, I prefer to stay in places a bit away from the center, as the old city centers may get hectic and noisy, parking becomes an issue, etc. if you are like me, this B&B is in an excellent location. if not, maybe not. The room we stayed in was very clean, it could accomodate 4 persons, and our bed was very comfy. In addition to that, the owner is a very nice person, I'd like to thank her for her hospitality.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was a little meagre, but overall a pleasant stay. Very nice room.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: I liked everything: spacious and super clean room, perfect breakfasts, the surroundings of the house. Really good value for money. The hostess was very nice, although she didn't speak much English - at least it got me to practice Italian! :))
Cons: Not applicable, everything was perfect :))
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Very clean, nice staff
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Although the owner did not speak English, she tried her best to encourage our limited Italian and we managed some conversation. A nice breakfast was prepared, cakes with home-made peach jam, excellent coffee. Although we were very unfortunate by the March weather and only +5C degrees the room got warm and cosy and a big bed and duvet added to our comfort.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Hostess very nice - everything very clean and comfortable.
Cons: Ignore my prior comment - my mistake. There are no negative comments here - all very good.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Nice house. Modern comfortable quiet room with new good quality furniture and decoration. Good and nice bathroom. Large shared kitchen and living room with all necessary items and information. 10.0 Excellent
Pros: Bed 10/10, wifi 10/10, hot water 10/10, air con 10/10, breakfast choice and quantity 10/10. Rita was always ready to help with any problem. Close to the Duomo and the best restaurant (recommended by Rita) La Locanda. The capponata was worth it’s weight in gold. The visit to Villa Romana dei Casale was 4 - 5 km away.
Cons: The weather - not organised by Rita
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The owners are very nice. A genuine experience of Italy before it became too touristy.
Cons: The drive up to the town is winding and narrow but worth it for the quaintness of the still unspoiled town.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The property was very cosy and authentic. Rita (owner) was warm and welcoming and did all she could to make our stay comfortable. Her home is a treasure trove of beautiful ceramics and colourful decoration. The breakfasts were included in the price, and a wonderful selection of meats, cheeses, fresh pastries and baguette.
Cons: The room was superb, large and opulent, and the bathroom well equipped. The only negative would have to be the mattress. An upgrade would be perfect!
9.0 Excellent
Pros: The warmth of the Sicilian welcome - even though little English spoken Senora Rita was so kind and helpful
10.0 Excellent
Pros: 1, location is great, walking distance to everywhere, free parking just in front of the b&b. 2, independent studio, spacious, very nice & tasteful decor, like a jewel, good quality towels. 3, very nice breakfast!!! 4, owner and her family are very nice. It's the best b&b we stayed during this journey.
Cons: nothing, it's just perfect
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Our stay at the B&B Kimera in Piazza Armerina, Sicily, Italy was fabulous! Traveling with another couple, we stayed 5 days and 4 nights and used this as our base from which to venture out daily for our Sicilian site seeing trips.  Each couple had their separate furnished apartment.  Each morning we were served an Italian style buffet breakfast with deli meats, cheeses, various pastries, fruits, juices, coffees/tea, etc.  Way more than we could ever eat!!!  Our hostess, Rita, greeted and treated us like family.  A very elegant and attractive lady, Rita spoke very limited English, but was able to converse with us pretty well with our very limited Italian, Rita’s limited English, and some French that we both knew.  Rita’s adult daughter speaks excellent English and was there on the weekend helping her mother and also available for communication.  It was obvious to us that this family is putting money into this property for ongoing maintenance and improvements, and Rita’s design tastes are exquisite and evident in the appearance of the properties.  Our beautifully appointed apartment, was located in a building dating back to the year 800AD.  The small balcony off the bedroom overlooked rooftops and the hills adjacent to the Italian village.  Several great eating places are within this small town and are easily walkable from the B&B. We LOVED this place....The favorite of our trip to Italy!!! We will definitely make another stay at B&B Kimera a part of any future visit to Sicily. Charlie and Georganne (USA)

Cons: None.

Pros: Very good and friendly service. Very clean. Breakfast is also good.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: A very nice place out in the countryside. The place is very well maintained and the room had its own entrance providing some privacy. It was very clean. Unfortunately we didn't have time to make use of the pool but from what we saw of the pool area it is definitely recommended for relaxation. Fresh!
Cons: Breakfast was very good but it would have been nicer if more local cuisine is offered.

B&B Diana - Piazza Armerina - Building

9.4 Excellent (77 reviews)
Overview Reviews
With a stay at B&B Diana in Piazza Armerina, you'll be within a 10-minute walk of Casa Museo del Contadino and Museo della Civiltà Mineraria.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The overall property is fairly basic with check-in at the restaurant (more a local coffee bar, with a bonus espresso on arrival), and the rooms above. But our double room, Number 3, was nicely done in a contemporary style. Plenty of space, nice bathroom, two large windows with balconies overlooking the city street. Quiet town at night. The location is not in the historic center, but no complaints as we had a modern, quiet, very reasonably priced room within only a 5 minute walk. There were some supplies in the communal kitchen (fruit, yogurt, juice, etc), but breakfast was downstairs in the restaurant: simple stuff (croissants, coffee, fresh orange juice) but quite enjoyable in the thick of the local action. Staff were quite pleasant.
Cons: A couple of emails were not replied to, but no worries: the restaurant was just underneath on arrival. Wifi was inconsistent, though told of area issues.
7.5 Good
Pros: A great part of town fabulous hostesses and beautifully furnished room
7.5 Good
Pros: Kitchen area available for tea/coffee or snacks etc.
Cons: The rooms were on the second floor with no lift.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The very clean facilities, the freely available water and the tight ship being run. Breakfast in downstairs cafe consisted generally of very good coffee (by Italian standards), freshly squeezed juice and a selection from the croissants etc. The facility is located not too far from a bus stop servicing the wonderful ceramic floors for which the area is famous.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Clean room with good bed. Friendly host. Shared kitchen. In the center of new Piazza Armerina, just few minutes walk from old town (visit highly recommended!). Short drive to incredible Villa Romana di Casale.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The bed was super comfy and the bathroom with it's walk in shower was great. Great value for money.
Cons: The room was advertised as having a balcony, it was a Juliet balcony big enough for standing room only. If you wish to park outside the property you may have to pay a small pay and display fee.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The facility seemed to be new, very modern and comfortable, very quiet. They arranged a driver for us to see Villa Romano.
Cons: We don't speak Italian, and our hosts didn't speak much English, so at times it was difficult.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Clean.and new rooms.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great location close to buses and reasonably close to old town Generous, free drinks, snacks and breakfast
Cons: Really nothing There were some language difficulties but plenty of effort from staff and myself to get all issues sorted
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Arrived as a couple a little early. No problem checking in. Staff was friendly and helpful, providing a map of Piazza Armerina. Most of staff speak limited English, although communication was straightforward. Fridge and upstairs kitchen was well stocked with water, fruit, yogurt. Breakfast croissant, sweets, and drink in Cafe out front. Room and bathroom were modern and clean. Easy walk to old Town. Steak house a block away. Parked on surrounding streets.

Pros: Nice view. Room was clean and spacious. Breakfast was great. Staff tried to be helpful but communications in English was sometimes an issue. I would recommend this property to friends.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Very clean home, provided ample breakfast, they are a friendly family but unfortunately we don’t speak Italian and they speak minimal English.
Cons: Home is outside main city with a view of Piazza Armerina. We found the city to be very sad place with few open businesses and a little depressing. Architecturally beautiful city but in decay with nothing to do. I would not recommend staying in P. Armerina to see Villa Romana del Casale but rather visit the site on a day trip from Caltagirone.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Set in a quiet cul-de-sac in a residential area, the house is filled with lovely old furniture. Our room was set to one side with a separate entrance. The owners speak excellent French and are very knowledgeable about the area, will recommend places to eat and visit. The table d'hôte breakfast room is stunning, with its panoramic view over the old town. We had our best breakfast here, with delicious bread and pastries, local cheeses, jams, honey, almonds…
Cons: The lights in the bedroom were not very bright, but that is a small niggle. The Wi-Fi signal in our room was weak due to the thick walls.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Property easy to find . Our host Luciano showed us options for rooms and we elected to stay in another house he owns a short distance away . Rooms clean and well appointed . Large living room and kitchen downstairs with water fruit available at no cost .Good directions to local points of interest .Good breakfast .Would recommend to friends .

Thanks for a lovely stay

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Impressive villa with character, breathing history. Great 4 course dinner served on terrace. Fantastic pool.
Cons: Nothing we could think of, perhaps better fire exit instructions as the room windows have bars and offer no escape.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: So relaxing, beautiful buildings, amazing fresh locally sourced food and really helpful hosts. Would highly recommend.
7.0 Good
Pros: Very friendly staff. Rooms are located in the former farm house. Good breakfast with a choise of cheese and bakery.
Cons: The room was not quite comfortable - bedroom was too small, pillows and the bed were too hard. There are no air conditioners, and it was very hot in the night (daytime temperature was over 35 C). For the second night a mobile conditioner was provided but it was very noisy. We had a lunch and a dinner (25 Euro per person, beverages not included), but there were no menu to choose a meal, everybody got the same dishes which were not quite tasty, we paid 300 Euro for 4 persons for the meal and drinks, but we almost not ate it.

Pros: Character of the property and the large rooms Furnished in period style Meals onsite excellent quality and service impeccable

9.3 Excellent
Pros: We were booked into La Casa Rossa Country House but the owners switced us to their other house Casa Sulla Collina D'Ora which was very close to the other property. Therefore this review is relevant to the Casa Sulla Collina d'Ora. With exceptonal views over to Piazza Armenia. Lovely people. It took 30 minutes to walk to the centre. Good place to stay to visit the beautiful mosaics at the roman villa but you need a car.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful views of piazza Armenia, quiet location, super rooms
Cons: No complaints ...
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Excellent stay with incredible view to the old town of Piazza Armerina that is on the other side of the valley. It has quite many rooms. All seemed to have as good view as we did. Luciano the host was very open and friendly. Rooms were big, clean and with private balcony. Best breakfast we had in Sicily - all the guests are sitting around one big table full of local bread, cheese, ham, tomatoes and fruits. Recommended!
Cons: The AC was not working or at least we did not know how to control it. But as we discovered it at late hours and stayed only one night we did not want to bother Luciano with asking help. Be ready 15-20min walk if you want to visit old town (recommended).
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The owners were marvelous, friendly and inclusive. The breakfast was terrific with their own oil and delicious cheese and pastries, coffees and juices. The room we had was exceptionally spacious with a beautiful view of the hilltop town across the canyon. (See photo) We used the huge common room and kitchen to play some cards and snack in the evening. The owners have two properties within a few hundred feet of each other and breakfast was at the second property, making for a nice short stroll before breakfast.
Cons: There was nothing at all wrong at all with this place (although for the handicapped, I believe there is no elevator so maybe ask for a first floor room.) the only troubl is with my GPS maps that include a short access road that doesn’t actually exist. So if that happens to you, just backtrack to the Main Street you came in on and go one more block down it. Our GPS then re-rerouted us to a workable route.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Wonderful view, gracious host, clean comfortable room at a bargain price. Good breakfast too.
Cons: Tricky to find with GPS. You will need to phone the host to meet you at the gas station to lead the way, but worth it when you get there.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Lovely B&B, warm welcome, comfortable and clean room with a view of the town. Breakfast was lovely, although in a separate B&B just over the road a couple of minutes walk away, I think perhaps because there were more people staying in that one and there were just us and 1 other in La Casa Rossa. No problem though - we were received warmly and breakfast was lovely with lots of choice and recommendations from the owner. Sat at a long table with a view of the town and chatted to other guests from Australia and Germany. Perfect location for visiting the Roman Villa.
Cons: It was chilly in the evening and the heater took some time to warm up the room. However, there was a blanket in the room which I used, so it wasn’t a huge problem.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Superb stay with Luciano and Gabrielle
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Parking on site, large family home but no family living there. Some rooms rented like apartments for longer terms. Loved the breakfast (best in all of Our Sicily travels!) at his other B&B down the street and around the corner. Wished we had stayed at that location instead, as we were offered rooms there but after we had dragged all of our luggage into the Casa Rossa. Fantastic views from both locations. Fun to wake up to roosters and cows lowing.
Cons: The rooms were very cold when we arrived and we couldn’t get the heat going. We had to call the host to come over from the other location twice to fix it.

Pros: Great place to stay in the city. The host was very friendly, gave good recommendations around and has two dogs which we could pet and play with, so it was awesome. The accommodation itself is very nice also, situated in a quiet part of town, yet still quite close to the centre. Equipment is also perfect, there is everything you might need - there was even a phone charger available in case you forgot yours.

Pros: Giulia was so friendly and helpful and helped us get back and forth from Villa Casale de Romana. It has been a long time since I met someone so friendly and accommodating. The apartment was spotlessly clean, well situated, and the breakfast delicious. When we forgot something Guilin tracked us down at the bus station to find us and give it to us. She is a true gem and her accommodation really cute and perfect. I wish we could have stayed longer on this cute little town!
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Cozy apartment. Very clean and close to the city center. The host was very friendly and helpful. We had a pleasant stay!

Pros: Our hosts, Georgia and Christina tried very hard with limited English. They wanted to please and were very sweet.
