Located just in front of the sea and conviniently not far from the railway station and the main street of Praia-A-Mare town. Staff speak only Italian. There was only one girl at the reception who spoke some English and we had to catch her to ask some basic questions. In general, Praia-A-Mare is not an international resort, you have to either learn Italian or go somewhere else. The hotel itself is quite old and too shabby for the price, two beds joint together to form a double bed, no mini-bar in the room. "Private beach" and "free rent-a-bike service" advertised on the website turned out to be paid for. The "sea view" from the room was limited to a strip of sea in the distance. Breakfast consisted of coffe and croissant only, the service was extremely slow (like everywhere in the town).
The staff were amazing, so friendly and helpful. The owner spoke excellent English and was very welcoming. We arrived late and were very tied and hungry and the restaurant was about to close, but it was no trouble for the staff to serve us an excellent meal. Our room was spotlessly clean and modern. We had booked a superior room view and it was huge with breathtaking views to the water. Nothing everytrhing was great. Only wished we had booked two nights instead of just one!
very clean No choice of breakfast. We were given a croissant and could pick a yoghurt.
Staff were extremely helpfull but a bit stressed during breakfast. Our room was terrible and needed reparation. Every time we took a shower it was water all over. Uncomfortable bed.
Very reasonable price. Great location (on the beach, a block from the main promenade). Secured parking. Friendly staff. Very modern interior common spaces. Next door to the best neopolitan pizza i've had outside of Naples! Although the common spaces of the hotel were modern and new, the room was not. Not necessarily a deal breaker, but the bed was saggy and uncomfortable. I did not check out the hotel's beach, but from the beaches we did go to, the indication was that the beaches get better the further south you go. I thought the best beaches were adjacent to the island - which is about 2km+ from the hotel.
Hotel was basic and comfortable, location was not bad however it was difficult to find. Rooms were small, lack of mini-bar/fridge meant it was impossible to keep a supply of fresh cold water. parking was a bit haphazourd and the lack of a lift meant that luggage needs to be brought to the rooms via the staris.
The location to the sea was within walking distance and right on the main walking strip of the village. The rooms, food, bar and service were excellent. However, what exceeded all of that and our 5 star hotel in Rome was the owner Milko Branca. He is a wonderful person to know as he is smart, funny and loved our three children.
The owner was a very congenial host who did every thing possible to make our stay pleasant and comfortable. We would certainly like to return there.
