what a lovely Hotel, right in the centre of the walled city,a super pool in a wonderful courtyard, very quiet location,a good but sligtly overpriced breakfast for just a continental one,a tight squeze if you have a bigish car for parking in the underfloor but very secure garage,we simple loved the stop.and would have liked to have been able to stay longer in that area.
The overall ambiance and attention to detail, close to a wide range of restaurants. An oasis in an historic town.
The whole experience was very very good, i would recommend this to anyone, the reality is far better than what you see in the 'brochure'. Simply astounding. once inside the walls of the town, then Villa. The swimming pool and jacuzzi were great =] loads going on in the main plaza, loads to eats and shop. I even found a local supermarket bought beers and bread and other yummies from the deli then headed outside the ramparts to sit and watch the world go buy and the sun set. amazing =] The roads nearby and the bridge got seriously congested, if you just chill you get in soon enough. It is a major attraction for the area so it is expected i suppose.
I thought that staying at the hotel was a fantastic experience, it was a haven & a very relaxing experience, also the staff were extremely helpful & friendly. Hotel setting was also a bonus.
Everything was great !
One of the bst hotles I have ever been. Very private and comfortable. A place to go again!
Beautiful building with a medieval feel, spacious, tastefully done up. Lovely large courtyard garden, covered swimming pool. Large rooms, very comfortable. Friendly staff. A really classy place where you could easily spend a week or two. Right in the centre of the incredible city of Aigues-Mortes.
peacefulness, location, friendliness, helpful, gardens were a delight and the pool/spa facilities good but not well advertised. I would stay again so long as I was in a garden room. Our room - 1 - was fine in itself but was overlooking the road - no traffic - but like sleeping under the eiffel tower. Curtains did not fit windows so bright street lights all night. Not a good nights sleep and not frankly worth the £200. A shame as it is not difficult to find curtains to fit. Also no information in the room about the hotel/area/dining etc. All we got was an envelope asking for a tip at the end....hardly condusive to good feeling.
We loved the garden and adjacent swimming pool, room was nice and quiet; much care has been given to create a romantic classy atmosphere in the building. The price of the breakfast is not included in the roomrate and too high in comparision to that.
Airco in room, the bath tub, big parking lot Aigues-Mortes is not really within walking distance, you need a car really. Breakfast was ok, but seems more destined for international travellers (the offered patisserie was disappointing!)
rien no frigo-bar , not easy to find the way to go to the hotel
a very well organized hotel, clean rooms, nice view, friendly personnel and only a few km from the town of aigues-mortes
a quiet hotel away from the town but near enough to be convenient outside of the buildings looking a bit shabby, no English language TV
Complex really nice, good rooms, especially having a fridge...great idea. Pool excellent, and great menu. Accessability to Aigues Mortes, especially on foot.
The very helpful and pleasant staff and the high standard of cleanliness everywhere in the hotel Would have liked more substantial breakfast
Nice modern rooms. Ideal location - 5 mins walk from Aigues Mortes. It's essential to get a room on the canal side - the other side is on a busy road.
very friendly owners. Nice rooms.
The canal side room with the balcony made for a very peaceful stay. The hotel staff were very attentive. The fresh pastries at breakfast were delicious although a savoury option perhaps cheese or ham would have been welcome.
The staff was very pleasant and helpful. The breakfast was a reasonable value. The room was very small and on a par with a Motel 6 in the states but the price was over $100.US!
The helpfulness of staff, the trouble they took to direct us to interesting locations nearby. No
close to the city centre that you can reach on your foot, nice and confortable rooms. a little bit late start for breakfast (since 8.00 AM), mini bar missing
Quiet if you are away from the road. Excellent breakfast.
Lovely pool. Parking. Good rooms and facilities.
very friendly staff offered a room away from the main road at no extra charge, and suggested several restaurants no tea/coffee facilities in room
close proximatey to other attractions didnt realise that it was a fold up bed. not at all comfortable
price late check in
It is good value for money. The location is very good. It is reasonably clean and the staff is very helpful. Fotos are far from reality: rooms are rather old and furniture and decoration have little to do with what you actually get. Nevertheless I would stay there again if I go back to Montpellier.
very good location, in the heart of the city Seti-bed, not very comfortable
It is not really a hotel but an appartment with all the facilities of a hotel. For us, having two babies with us, it was super. They have a parking garage, breakfast service, laundry service etc etc. Everything you need is their and the staff was very helpfull.
excellent facilities, very helpful and outgoing staff, convenient location, affordable price
The suite and the terrace were spacious, the bed was big and comfortable, there was plenty of wardrobe space, the position was great, and the kitchen was well appointed. But best was that when they learned from a friend who stays there often that it was my birthday, they put a nice bottle if wine in the suite and wrote a card to me. We gave the wine to the receptionist because she was very helpful, and we had to fly out the next morning, so no time to drink it. No complaints
The room was very spacious and the bed was comfortable. The kitchenette was nice to have as well
modern, brand new furniture, a lot of space, in the city centre
Location was excellent. Tram stop (Leon Blum) was at the front door
Clean comfortable rooms. Excellent location, lovely views of the main square.
location, style, grandeur, service. lack of pool (not expected in a periodic building), noisy air conditioning, lack of tea and coffee making facilities in room.
The location was very central , very convenient to the railway station , and the frequent tram service . great for a short city break Breakfast should be included in the price , dining room not very impressive
Good facilities and friendly staff excellent location
The location The hotel's lack of help and flexibility when we wanted to change our booking to a different date. This was due to the uncertainty of our flight departures due to the French strikes. the hotel did not try to accommodate our request in any way. we were not trying to cancel, merely rebook for another date
It's well located The hotel is not family friendly. We were using a pram for our three month old baby and the stairs in front of the hotel make it difficult to circulate. The hotel is on pedestrian area, so we had to carry all our luggage and baby from the underground parking nearby (which also does not seem to have an elevator) to the hotel. The hotel staff did not offer to help, not even once, even though they were not busy at the time. The staff seemed quite inexperienced and was not very forthcoming in providing information about the location. If you have family, I do not recommend staying at this hotel. There are others nearby, as well-situated and cheaper.
The hotel was centrally located in the town square and close to the tram and parking. Great location
Excellent location next to the main square, within easy walking distance from railway station and all sights. Comfortable bed and pillows. Double glazing blocks out the noise from the square. Clean. Spacious, uncluttered room. Pleasant staff. Interesting original decoration. Decent breakfast, although you could get something cheaper and less substantial from a nearby café. Slow to repair things like lightbulbs. Very little natural light in the public areas (but that's just a personal preference).
Montpellier is a very fascinating city and Newhotel du Midi with his amazing location just on Place de la Comedie is the perfect place if you want to discover the city center. In the bathroom there weren't either windows or air condition.
The location of this hotel, right on the Place Comedie, is great. For bars/culture/shopping to be right on your doorstep is just what you want in a city break. The car park is very close, under the Place, which was handy. The staff recommended an excellent local restaurant for our first night, Les Bains, two minutes walk from the hotel, and the restaurant next door to the hotel also seemed excellent, though we did not manage to eat there. There is no bar or restaurant at the hotel, and rooms are a little tired. Also, being close to the nightlife has the drawback of being noisy.
the personal attention of the housekeeping supervisor
The hotel staff were excellent, helpful and professional; the rooms, modern, clean and very comfortble and the location really good to walk to the antigone shopping centre and the centre of town. I would recommend this superb, value for money hotel.
The hotel was quite clean and situated near the center of the city The rooms on the street were rather noisy
Location and decent size room
tea and coffee kit in room you have to reserve the parking before
within walking distance of town centre and close to tram. Tea making facilities in room. No charge for motor bike parking. Convenient location to find from motorway
Close to trams and center of town.
Nice, comfortable rooms and good price. Breakfast area looks a bit cheap.
The rooms were excellent and the location perfect for a city break. Staff were extremely helpful.
The staff were very welcoming and helpful. Parking was very convenient and reasonably priced. Room clean, bit small but perfectly adequate. With a child it would have been nice if there were cereals for breakfast.
Great location Beds not so comfortable
Interesting conversion of a house in a walled (small) city. Very convenient for visiting the ramparts and museum and for shops and dining. Pleasant, relaxing view from patio facing room The food, when it came, was adventurous and delicious but we had to wait more than an hour for our starter to arrive and had to ask for bread whilst waiting.
It was right in the heart of a medieval town It was extremely difficult to park- the hotel could have provided information about this at the time of booking
The hotel is central, very nicely decorated, with free wi-fi and privat parking. The staff is very nice and helpful. Romms are not very big but nice and cosy. No air conditioned but they have a fan. However, it was not enough for that heat and we had to keep the windows opened. Another problem was that our room had windows facing the street and with the windows opened you can hear the noise from the birds and the cleaning mashines very early in the morning. So after 5:00 we could not sleep any more.
Wonderful hotel, fantastic location within the walls of the old town. Rooms were very comfortable and spotless. Hotel was full of character and old world charm. Staff were very friendly and helpful. So good we stayed an extra night. Loads of restaurants and places of interest less than 100 yards away. Price didn't include breakfast. Parking costs €12 per day in the hotel, otherwise you have to park outside the walls which will be €10 anyway.
The hotel is in a great village called Aigues-Mortes, which we had never heard of before visiting. It is a completely walled city, and we arrived very late at night, which was a very cool time to approach these massive walls. Make sure if you are going to arrive late that you call the hotel ahead of time.
The city of Aigues Mortes in it's self is reason enough to make a visit but it's location in relation to Nimes, Arles and other roman ruins make it an ideal place to stay.
building/room excellent. lovely bathroom. no air con but 2 fans provided. hotel staff inflexible, could not sit and have drink in courtyard at 6pm because "tables needed to be set up for the evening." alternative was to sit in dark gloomy indoor room on a summer's evening. staff could have been more accomodating. we went elsewhere for our champagne, hotel therefore missing out on selling drinks due to being inflexible and un-accomodating in this way.
Nice hotel in the centre of Aigues Mortes with parking facility
The Location is key and staff was really lovely dipping pool was nice on the very hot day we stayed there. did not try restaurant. Parking quite far away as no parking is allowed within the walled city except for locals (only fair really)
We arrived at 3.00pm to check in and the hotel front door was locked. Despite ringing the bell several times over 5 minutes no one answered so we had to phone the hotel to get someone to let us in. The lady who answered the door was the owner who questioned whether we were actually booked and left us outside whilst she went to check and closed the door on us. When another customer turned up to check in she then decided to let us in and checked us in offering no appology for any delay, poor service or lack of knowledge of our booking. The room was basic, very dated and clean to the most basic of standards
Central position No on-site parkiing possible, as advertised. Had to park outside city walls and car full of luggage for four months away from home
We chose to stay at this hotel because of the good reviews and it did not disappoint. The hotel was lovely, very clean, very nice decor and lots of character. The staff were friendly and welcoming. Our room was beautiful, looking out over the terrace. It was very romantic! We would definitely recommend this hotel for a short stay.
fantastic, interesting, arty, romantic, beautiful decor.. Lovely staff...In short -bit of a gem Not staying longer
Style and ambiance of the hotel, gardens and location within the ancient walled city. Tea making facilities would be nice
The hotel was very typical french. The car park, however small was very convenient. The rooms were basic enough but the air conditioning worked and it was quiet.
Very charming hotel, quiet, excellent stay No parking even if it said so, breakfast not so good value for money
Garden, atmosphere. More variations for breakfast. Not everybody wants cakes and jam for breakfast. Missed youghourt, musli, cheese, etc.
Really nice place, great rooms (we were in one of the Suites). Very well decorated with local art and traditional furnitures. Very comfy. Huge bathroom! Patio inside the hotel, nice swimming pool also. I strongly recommand the place; inside the fortifications of Aigues-Mortes within the pedestrian area where are all the restaurants and stores.
The hotel itself is beautiful, what I would term as shabby chic and would definitely stay there again. The staff were a little on the cold side but it did not affect our stay although we decided not to eat there on that basis. see above
the hotel is old style and very cute. a pity we could not try the restaurant because it was fully booked difficult to reach by car even to unload your luggage
People friendly No hairdryer in room and not enough tea bags
close to expressway and clean and comfortable dinner in the restaurant was not nice
It is a nice and clean hotel. The breakfast. I think more meat and cheese
The room was very clean, and I liked the nice down comforter. Also, I enjoyed the breakfast buffet. The staff, for the most part, was very friendly and helpful. Somewhat far from the downtown and the site of my conference. I had to walk about ten minutes to get to the tram station.
The relaxed atmosphere and helpful friendly staff Could not get potatoes, other than chips, so dinner was meat and green salad, As a Coeliac, (gluten free diet), I cannot eat bread, so potatoes are important to me. My husband loved the chips with his meat.
the breakfast was good, but the hotel is really expensive for the quality of the room. the quality of the room regards to the price.
price, location, free parking
excellent friendly staff who were a pleasure to deal with. no
It was very isolated if you did not have a car
The staff in the restuarant were not at all helpful and there was no infomation about Montpellier or about the hotel itself available.
Very classy and beutiful hotel in an serene setting in the centre of vineyards yet only aa few minutes away from the centre of Montpelier and the autoroute. the reception staff were extremely friendly and efficient, we received an upgrade! The room was full of lighting, so unlike most French hotels, and there was even a Vaio computer and printer in the room with free internet, the printer even had paper! The food was excellent both at dinner and breakfast. The service at Dinner was cheerful and attentive and the wine froim the estate was good and not expensive. The only downside to the whole stay was that the waiter at breakfast was a little morose!
this is one very special hotel! the hotel is newly fitted to a very luxurous standard. Felt 'wrong' for business accomodation but wow a very nice place to come for romance. a restaurant is desperately needed.
Excellent high-class luxury hotel with all facilities. Very friendly and professional staff. Excellent meals. Beautiful environment. Expensive but value for money.
Wonderful setting - extremely comfortable and relaxing Room had a wonderful Alessi Bathtub with jacuzzi, but it was broken and not fixed during the stay. It was very disappointing.
This is most definitely the most stylish hotel we have stayed in. The grounds are immaculate, the rooms superb, large, chic and contempory with no expense spared, we loved having our own personal computer in the room as well as a nespresso machine. The spa facilities are also excellent. We ate on the terrace both evenings, overlooking the pool and gardens and the food was of a high standard and beautifully presented and the staff were all extremely efficient.
The hotel was beautifully presented with a mixture of old and modern decor very tastefully done. It was peaceful and offered a wonderful sanctuary from the bustle of the beach and the city at the end of the day. The food and service were both excellent. There was a tennis court on site which we used regularly. It was rather expensive (especially with the current sterling/euro exchange) but probably in line with similar establishments, the breakfast for example cost Euro 25 each if you wanted scrambled eggs (ie something cooked) and Euro 18 each for the continental choice. Our room did not have a mini bar so we had to buy our water from the hotel every day which again was quite expensive (Euro 8 for a bottle I think).
Pleased to discover the room had a fridge and that there was a swmming pool and loungers both of which were unexpected. The room was very basic but you get what you pay for. Otherwise OK.
Good sized room with separate toilet, air-conditioned, and patio onto the pool. There was a supermarket across the road which was convenient.
Clean and comfortable A bit dark, slightly too far out of Aigues-Mortes
Very quiet hotel and good bed to sleep! Heating was not very easy to use
There was enough space. Hotel had a swimming pool. Close to Aigues-Mortes. Good price. Check out time at 11 am
The room was clean. We liked the pool but were turned off byallthe rules. We asked for extra towels since ours were wet from the pool. We were told only two towels per room were allowed. Every room had rules writtenon the walls. The riles were ridiculous!
Clean, good, firm mattress No tea/coffee making facilities, no shower curtain, very very basic, towels very old.
It was within walking distance of our friends who were having a party and could not accomodate us There was somthing with a motor behind a locked mock wardrobe and the motoor kept cutting in and out making sleeping difficult
Easy to book over the net, in particular with possibility to book 3-bed- rooms directly. Location relatively unattractive. Cleaning a bit on the low side.
Comfortable & clean No sky tv
