Pros: The hotel is in a quaint small town in the French Basque Country. it is a great place to stay with numerous hikes nearby. We would definitely return if in the area.
Cons: Nothing
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The hotel, in the style of Pays Basque houses, is pretty and very well kept, together with the swimming-pool and gardens and greenery around it. We were able to play a bit of tennis on the courts so that was fun. The restaurant and lounges inside are beautiful and everybody was very friendly and smily. ( a little hello to the waiter who told us about his year experience travelling through New Zealand!)
Cons: If we may suggest, the colour yellow on the walls of our (nice) accommodation is a bit dated and makes it look on the old side rather than modern or rustic. It would be much pretttier to have white instead. Also, a little fridge in the room (with drinks) would be welcome.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The management and staff were excellent, and the cuisine superb. The location just a short walk from the town was ideal. We hope to be able to visit again
Cons: Nothing!

Plus a large swimming pool and tennis courts, and a perfect building interior and exterior - set in one of the most beautiful villages in France.
Cons: The only thing I can think of, is the lack of coffee in our room, but then we could also sit in the comfortable saloon and have excellent coffee served there.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: We returned to Ithurria hotel because of our excellent experience several years ago, and must say that their superb service and quality continue to be outstanding. The staff are amazing- friendly, helpful, and gracious. The hotel is spotlessly clean, elevator and private parking lot makes room access easy. They upgraded our room to one with a balcony view of the main village street, which was charming. We ate at the restaurant ( Michelin ) both nights, and enjoyed delicious meals, wine paired, as well. This was the best foie gras we have ever tasted. Our waiter even prepared a personal herbal tea infusion fresh from the chefs garden. We list this as one of our favorite places to stay anywhere in the world....in a small Basque town, surrounded by beautiful countryside, it’s a haven of peace...we highly recommend Ithurria.
Cons: Everything was perfect

Cons: Not possible to get hotel parking space
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Outstanding as always :)
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Excellent
Cons: Bathroom door in room is too unconventional, does not close.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: This a really high-class hotel. Certainly four-star, I might even say five ... Lovely facilities, stylish, impeccably clean and comfortable with staff who are endlessly helpful. Wonderfully comfortable bed and a tranquil night's sleep. Flawless wifi. Delicious buffet breakfast. Not the cheapest hotel in town but at the price I paid, it was worth every euro. And a summer evening eating by the banks of the river Nive - in the old part of Bayonne - was memorable. Just one snag: that's not where the Okko hotel is located ...
Cons: I chose the Okko thinking it was next to Bayonne's old town. My mistake. It's not. While Bayonne's old quarter is charming, most of the city now is modern - largely 20th century so far as I could see. And the Okko is in the modern part, right next to a busy roundabout leading on to one of the main bridges. Its 9th floor club room is brilliant as a place to relax and eat your gourmet (and gourmand) breakfast, overlooking the fine river Adour. But what you see, along the river banks, is a vista of modern villas, commercial premises and (further off) industrial units. Maybe if you just arrive and leave by car, this wouldn't matter. But for me, really keen to wander into the old town on foot and wander back again, it was disappointing to find that I had a 15 minute walk along boring modern streets before getting to the old quarter.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Food selection at breakfast was amazing. Drinks & snacks available at all times and the evening apertivo was great. Really good movie selection too!
Cons: The bathroom door was ridiculous. Style over substance. Couldn’t close it properly.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Great view Cool design Good breakfast Free parking on the street
Cons: Rationality lost against design (Fancy but useless interior concepts) - Bathroom door can not be closed from inside by design - Too small tables in the breakfast area
5.0 Okay
Pros: Breakfast
Cons: Kind of an impersonal treatment
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great staff, good breakfast, fantastic evening buffet.
Cons: I liked everything.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Buffet style, walking breakfast and Food during whole is very Nice. And cost atmosphere
Hotel Du Palais Biarritz - Biarritz - Building
6
9.0 Excellent (797 reviews)
Overview Reviews
A living memory of Biarritz history, theVilla Eugenie, now Hotel du Palais, was built in 1855 by Napoleon III for his wife Eugenie de Montijo, now among the most famous historical resort in France.
6.3 Good
Cons: Tatty old rooms with a strange odour, broken A/C, exorbitant price which filled us full of hope that we would receive extreme luxurious treatment only to be sorely disappointed. Ordered late room service and had to reject every item due to poor quality. After being told we could entertain guests anywhere in the hotel the pool attendant handed me a bill for €EUR450 for the visitors who came and sat with us for an hour by the pool even after us spending €EUR300 on drinks!!! Which I promptly refused to pay. After very little sleep I tried to complain and received a small discount on the bill, but 1 night still came to €1,800!! There is no way this hotel is deserved to charge that kind of money for the return in property standards and service. I will be taking this up further with the hotel an Hyatt group.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff were world class, best service ever!!!
Cons: Nothing!
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Wonderful hotel, beautifully positioned with elegant interiors and very attentive staff. I could not fault the hotel
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Location and elegance
Cons: The Hotel decor is dated and needs to be refreshed. We don’t approve of having dogs in hotels and particularly so when they bark in public areas and bedroom floors
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Nice breakfast. Smoked salmon was highest class and croissants were very tasty. Superb view from our balcony
Cons: I was disappointed by very late swimming pool opening hours. I always like to have a swim before my breakfast and pool is open here just 0930! Latest time since I am traveling long years!
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Cocktail Bar atmosphere with singing. Restaurant food, décor and atmosphere. Room views over the bay. Gardens and pool area.
Cons: One waiter on the terrace in the afternoon/early evening when busy was not enough. She did an excellent job but needed help to give the expected levels of service (cleaning tables when people leave)...NOT a criticism of her at all.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Location and services were excellent. Very dog friendly and facilities were extremely clean.
Cons: Was surprised to be disappointed with the quality of the room service coffee when everything else we consumed was of very high quality.
6.2 Good
Pros: location and view from dining room
Cons: place is showing its age, and its cost for rooms and meals are far too high. breakfast for 1 person was 50 euro, about $60 USD. the ocean view room i reserved from kayak was $550, and the only view of the water was from a side window; you had to right up next to the window to even see the water or beach. when i complained, they said that since you can see the water from the window, it qualifies as ocean view. we got misled from the check in girl as to when our room would be ready, and got fast double talk as to what happened. there also appears to be some wiggle room between what we learned about the room from kayak and what the hotel provided. kind of a bait and switch. we won't be back.
7.5 Good
Pros: Location is perfect, the views are magnificent
Cons: The building is outdated, needs renovation badly, the inside pool was cold
8.0 Excellent
Pros: New room of the same category was excellent but the first one (I booked deluxe room with partial ocean view) was given to me has inner yard view with a bad smoking smell. However, new room was 365 Euro more expensive per night.
Cons: Some staff attitude at the check-in
5.0 Okay
Pros: Location
Cons: It’s tired and needs to be refurbished. Too expensive for what’s in offer.
La Maison du Lierre - Biarritz - Building

With a stay at La Maison du Lierre, you'll be centrally located in Biarritz, within a 10-minute walk of Casino Barriere and Grand Beach. Featured amenities include complimentary newspapers in the lobby, luggage storage, and a safe deposit box at the front desk.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The hotel is ideally situate. The decoration and the building is full of charm
Cons: The bathroom in both bedrooms were not really clean. There was lots of long black hair on the balcony which needed a good clean.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Loved the old world charm, especially the gramophone playing softly in the lobby
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Good area; very close to most things
Cons: staff didn't speak ANY english which made asking questions difficult
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful mansion style hotel in good condition, with great city center location, only two minutes from the local food market in the restaurant and shop packed ”Les Halles area” of Biarritz. Five more minutes walk and you’re at the Grande Plage. We took a swim and hung out at the beach every day, and the hotel felt close enough for us to quickly return to when we wanted to take a shower and change clothes afterwards. It’s not a seaside location, but it is close. The friendly staff here greets you with big smiles every morning. They are really nice and service minded! The room was very clean, and though it was a bit stripped down in terms of decoration it had everything you could want in terms of space, nice bathroom, comfy bed, big wardrobe and a good refrigerator (wich came in handy, since that food market tempted us to buy delicious cheese, butter, croissants and all sorts of fruit most every day). Last but not least, the Maison has a nice little secluded garden with beautiful flowers, trees and that ivy, wich gave the mansion it’s name (Lierre), clinging to the walls. The setting is complete with a little water fountain and generous seating for both catching a bit of sun or to sit down and have a bite to eat. I will definately return here. We really enjoyed it.
Cons: Close the windows at night or you will get mosquitoe bites for sure. No biggie though. The ceiling mounted fan will keep the room nice and cool.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: La Maison du Lierre is perfectly positioned to reach all the best parts of Biarritz, whether it's for shopping, eating or the beaches. We met two members of staff (maybe family of the owners), both were very welcoming, friendly, efficient and spoke English well. They did everything to make our stay comfortable. We had a first floor room. The bathroom and shower worked well, as did the wifi. The hotel is run on environmentally friendly principles, all of which are outlined in the room's info folder. We would be happy to return here and to recommend it to other travellers.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Great customer service, very clean and modern facilities in a beautiful old building. Breakfast is good. Location was really good for both sightseeing, beaches, markets, buses etc.
Cons: Air conditioning rather than the ceiling fan would be better for hot weather. 3.30 check-in was quite late if arriving to Biarritz early in the morning.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Welcome atmosphere
Cons: Occasional noise from other room
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The hotel is located in the centre of the old part of Biarritz, near a nice park and in walking distance to many restaurants and bars, the beach etc. The staff was very nice and friendly, very helpful and also spoke good English. The building is a beautiful old house which has been tastefully decorated and modernised and has a nice garden/patio. Our room (standard category) was nice and clean, the bed was comfortable. The bathroom was functional and clean. You can book a parking space in a carpark nearby (just 1 minute down the street) for 14 EUR per day.
Cons: In the morning it was a bit noisy with banging and squeaking doors (maybe some oil would help for the latter) - but I guess that is the case in many hotels and earplugs do help. The rooms wasn't exactly big and had only one chair. For the rather high price (170 EUR) one would expect at least a second chair or an included breakfast - but maybe that's just what prices are like in Biarritz in the summer...
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful house and rooms and nice steff
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Nice location

9.3 Excellent
Pros: Nice location, lovely grounds , stayed in the lodge , perfect for us traveling with two dogs Staff very welcoming and helpful
Cons: Minor thing it would have been nice to have complimentary tea and coffee in the room. We had to leave early in the morning and would have liked a cuppa before we left
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The attention of the hotel was excellent. Ester in particular was tremendously helpful in helping plan our days with tip top recommendations. The facilities are absolutely charming.
Cons: The breakfast was a bit underwhelming in quality and options. They music selection in the common areas was a bit limited, i.e. bossa nova on an endless loop.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Everything about the location and hotel staff
Cons: An AC wasn’t there but a ventilation, however I do think that with an AC it’s easier to regulate. Also I’d appreciate if you have a more towels. Except that it was an amazing experience and I’ll be back for sure.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The Chateau is a beautiful house set in its own grounds with stunning views over the mountains from the pool. As a place to stay it is so relaxing.

Cons: At breakfast the coffee was cold.

Hotel Harretchea - Ahetze - Building
11
8.9 Excellent (186 reviews)
Overview Reviews
Located in Ahetze, Hôtel Harretchea is in a rural location, within a 10-minute drive of Bidart Beaches and Bid'a Parc. The front desk is staffed during limited hours. Free self parking is available onsite.
7.5 Good
Pros: The hotel looks very cosy, is very clean, nicely decorated. It has a nice terrace and a nice garden. Free public parking at 50m from the hotel. The staff at the reception was very nice. It is conveniently located if you come by car (short drive to Biarritz and 45min to San Sebastian). The restaurant across the street is very good.
Cons: The wifi did not always work properly. One of the rooms was in the attic, with a rather low ceiling on one side of the room, which made it difficult to move around (I hit my head on the ceiling several times, when I was forgetting I have to walk bent around my side of the bed). Beds could be a bit larger. At check out, the owner told us we make noise when we pulled our trolleys to the car, at 10 am (around 5 meters; plane cabin trolleys). All the other staff was very nice and polite.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: This is real French style home hotel with charming and friendly owner. The room was clean, with new furniture and bathroom equipment. There was enough space for parking on the hotel's territory, which was very important to us, as we travelled by car. Bidart and Biarritz beaches were not far away, just few kilometers from the hotel, which was very convenient if you travel by car. Owner's cat sometimes was seen on the hotel territory, which was appreciated by all cat lovers =)
Cons: No air conditioning in the room, only fan. It was tough in evening hours, when we needed some cool air after a sunny day.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything was first class, relaxing atmosphere, beautifully appointed rooms. Breakfast great selection. Spa available if needed. Overall fantastic.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Bright airy room, beautifully decorated. The bathroom was spacious with shower and bath. Tea and coffee making facilities in the room. Lovely staff! Ideal location if you have a car for day trips.
Cons: Missed the cheese on the breakfast buffet. I felt bad having to ask for it!
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Excellent location in lovely French village. Owner and staff great. Having breakfast in the garden was particularly special.

8.0 Excellent
Pros: The place is cute and owners are nice. Parking was practical. The pool and the garden looked really nice but the weather conditions didn't permit me to enjoy it.
Cons: I stayed several days and was given a room on the ground floor that was very small and had a strong smell of dampness. The window was actually opened when I checked in. I believe it had not been used of a while. Despite the cold weather, I had to open the window to breath fresh air every time I was back in the room. The price was too high for that particular room.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Fabulous hosts, great breakfasts with all local produce, lovely furnishings and everything immaculately cared for.Nothing was too much trouble and led to a brilliant four night stay for us.
Cons: The weather!
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was lovely & room comfortable
Cons: Tea & coffee in room
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Our privilege room had a terrace and a view of the swimming pool. There were plenty of sun beds. The bed was comfortable and the fittings all worked. Breakfast was continental and featured homemade jams.
Cons: There were no restaurants open in the village on a Tuesday in September.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The garden room was lovely, with a terrasse overlooking the swimming pool. Breakfasts were excellent, with homemade jam, fruit and a good jambon de pays.
6.8 Good
Pros: Quiet. Private
Cons: Breakfast fairly basic but expensive. Staff friendly but maybe could be a little more attentive.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Location fine, breakfast excellent. The rooms were excellent and the proprietors were very friendly and accommodating.
Cons: All the facilities were excellent.
6.3 Good
Pros: There is a very convenient parking, and a heated pool which is supposedly great.
Cons: The room we had was TINY for the price we paid, we almost couldn’t fit in the bed so don’t think of booking their standard room if you’re 1.80m or more. The other rooms are more spacious for like 20€ more per night, and those rooms are probably worth their price, but the one we had was way too overpriced. We were supposed to have a garden view, I’ll let you decide by yourself trough the picture if this is what you call a garden. We were pissed about the price charged so we looked at the reviews to see if it was just us. It wasn’t. When we checked the answers from the owner, he seemed to complain that people didn’t tell him directly was had gone wrong, so we decided to talk to him face to face politely : it didn’t change a thing, judge by yourself in his comments to see if he seems open to suggestions. He said all the rooms in the region were priced like this, we told him it wasn’t the price that was the problem but the size of the room offered for it. We toured the region and spent like 6 days in 6 different hotels, so I think we had a pretty good knowledge of what the prices are in the region, at this period of the year. I dont comment to ruin the reviews of the hotel, most of our comments are positive/great. This experience wasn’t. If it had cost like 70-80€/night, I would have given a 8,5/10 so this review is not to say the « hotel » is bad, just that their standard room is not worth the price you’re charged for it (tiny bathroom, tiny room, tiny bed, view on the parking, for 109€/night).
7.5 Good
Pros: Staff and garden where nice
Cons: Value for money. Cost should include breakfast. To add €22 for two limited breakfasts is a bit much. You would like ham or cheese, add €3 for each per person. Too much

Cons: Coffe was not so good but breakfest was very good. I liked much hotel Windsor. I think the hotel is designed a little bit for scandinavian taste. Hotel's situation is just to the Grand Plage. Biarrits is very walkable. Town is wery well "made for visitors"! You could spent a good holiday at Biarritz.

9.5 Excellent
Pros: Amazing location, right on the main beach. Nice and clean. Helpful staff.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff were here welcoming and helpful. We also loved the breakfast , lots of great choices.
4.5 Okay
Cons: The room has about 9 sqm ² , Room 303 with sea View , Price 280 € /night. The room is a little larger than the bed. The architect was so clever to do a glass shower in the middle of the room to make it look larger. Also washing place without privacy, who the f.. has designed that ? I have jugded about 100 hotels in the last years via booking ( mostly 5 stars) , but this place has by far the biggest price gap between standards and prices . You just feel cheated when staying there . So no recommendation at all .
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The Hotel is really nice! Close to everything in Biarritz, it takes you 2 minutes to get to the beach and up to 10 minutes to go for good cafes and restaurants! The staff is nice and helpful! And breakfasts were very good as well! Highly recommended :)

Cons: Highly recommended. Very helpful and friendly services. Optimal location near to beach and city centre. Brilliant and delicious breakfast.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Very clean and attractive hotel from the inside. Lovely light room with view over the ocean. Excellent aircon much needed in the intense heat outside. Breakfast was very good.
Cons: From the ocean side, the outside of the hotel looks dubious. Don't be put off, however, as when you enter it is clear that much investment has been made in the hotel. From the town side it is an attractive building.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Location, location, location! Also, nicely renovated and well functioning air conditioning

9.5 Excellent
Pros: Perfectly located - in old area, easy to walk to all we needed - lovely street appeal ... check in staff were exceptional. Reasonably priced parking close by - all clearly explained. Lovely towels! The courtyard bar - and a delightful and talented young group of musicians unlearn old magnolia tree made for a wonderful and memorable evening for us!
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The staff were great!
Cons: The mattress was rock hard.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great location, great room
Cons: N/A
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Good location and reasonable value for money
Cons: Restaurant menu was a bit limited
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The location was just one street away from main street of Bayonne. Ample size of room, independent shower room (Very easy to use !)and bathtub. Nice amenities, unpretentious but nicely decorated. Hotel has a cosy nice restaurant, and it was very refreshing to sit outside and have drinks / foods. Although, there were some small negative points, l was still happy with overall charms of this hotel, and glad to have chosen this place.
Cons: As for four stars hotel, l was expecting to have fridge in the room. So it was disappointing not to find it and unable to have a nice cold drink at room. The curtain rail was bit broken and couldn’t close the curtain. Managed to move the stucked part and close eventually. So was the stopper for the bathtub and the water kept on leaking. The bathrobe was a nice thought, but very hard and rather painful on the skin.... The breakfast was all right, but too expensive and not so impressive choices for €15. There is a €9 express breakfast which is better value.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Lovely room, great food, charming location
Cons: Staff communication was a bit abrupt
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Good location and good rooms.
Cons: The chaos on the approach to Bayonne festival!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Small cozy hotel right in the middle of the old city. We did not eat there, but the hotel restaurant looked excellent.
Cons: Very small rooms, but that is what we expected for something in the old city.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Actually linked physically to the historic walls of the city. Fine building with easy access parking. Great room and pleasant staff.
Cons: Broken mirror located inside the lift with multiple cracks should have been removed or taped for safety. Reported to reception. This is an isolated incident but could show poor safety consideration. Not a reason to miss this great place.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: The owner was lovely and made us very welcome. It felt like being at home.
Cons: Nothing, everything was great
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Large, comfortable room. Helpful host and very nice breakfast
Cons: Wasn't aware that the hotel was more like a B&B, so no lift but host helped get the bags up the stairs.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The ambience of the hotel. Very friendly. Very central to local restaurants and markets. Beautiful old house - only 5 bedrooms
Cons: Street noise at nighttime
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Host Delphine very welcoming. Great location near Les Hailes. Comfy bed. Lovely bathroom. Tea/coffee in the room. Parking nearby. Lots of lovely touches.
Cons: No aircon.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: This is a small, family operated hotel with great charm. The owner told us she bought it this past July, after studying and working in the hotel industry for many years. The warm, personal touch is what distinguishes the experience and made it memorable for us. The nearest parking garage can be reserved in advance through the hotel, and is a few blocks away. If you study your map, you can walk to the overlook and promenade (and the pedestrian access point) for the Southern beaches of Biarritz in just a few minutes through a somewhat inconspicuous pedestrian passage. It's a longer hike to the Grand Plage, although a helpful tip is that the elevator for the Clemenceau parking garage can take you up or down about seven levels from a terrace overlooking the Grand Plage to street and beach level. Breakfast is not as abundant as some hotels we've visited, but we had plenty to eat and the home-made preserves were delicious. Our room was not fancy but it was clean and comfortable, and the bathroom seemed updated and relatively new. There is no elevator, so be prepared for walkup stairs. The lounge area on the first floor is a roomy, comfortable living room. The whole experience is personal, tasteful, comfortable and intimate. We would definitely stay here again.
Cons: The terrain in Biarritz is undulating and can be steep, so it's not a comment on the hotel but be prepared for walks with a lot of steep elevation changes.
6.8 Good
Pros: The location was excellent and the breakfast good
Cons: It was unfortunate that we were there during the hottest 2 days in France for many years. The aircon was just not up to the job (the proprietor fiddled with it and improved it a little but not enough) so we spent two very uncomfortable and humid nights, no doubt aggravated by the fact our room was just under the roof at the top of the building. This rather dominated our whole experience. Otherwise the room was clean and reasonably comfortable as was the bathroom.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Extremely good location and easy street parking which was cheap.
7.5 Good
Pros: Position, Lady of the house was very nice and spoke very good English.
Cons: We along with our friends, had booked a superior room , we were at a loss to find what it was superior to. We didn’t have air con, we didn’t have a fridge, we didn’t have a balcony or city view. Admittedly the rooms were larger than normal and the breakfast good. But we paid €418 per couple for 2 nights, which ,considering the rooms, was very expensive. I would class this Hotel more of a B&B.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Nuce hotel, good value for money

Cons: nothing
6.8 Good
Pros: Lovely old building
Cons: Location - had to drive everywhere and €56 for dinner is very expensive.
7.0 Good
Pros: Nice location. We got a big room with a huge bathroom and 2 wc, so, it was really comfortable for a family with kids. View from the room was amazing, and a beautiful terrace to enjoy wine in the evening or morning coffee.
Cons: The hotel definitely knew better times. Even changing textiles and towels to new ones would help for better appearance. You could hardly believe that it's 5* hotel, when you see that old dirty carpet, a curtains with holes, grey quite used towels or dirty baby cot. Looks like personnel got a lot of complains about that, but it is not their decision area. Pity, because the hotel has high potential to be really nice place to stay.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: A beautiful chateau with very helpful staff.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was fine. There was a good choice of continental and a limited choice of cooked eggs. It was ok for what I needed, but more choice for cooked breakfast would be even better.
Cons: I prefer large mugs of freshly made filter coffee, rather than always from a nespresso machine. And available hot milk for people who can't handle espresso would be good.
5.5 Okay
Pros: Comfortable bed
Cons: Tired hotel which was definitely not 5 star. Was not correctly described in photos. Garden unkempt with stagnant lake, rooms need redecorating, television did not work. Very overpriced.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: beautiful chateau , peaceful settings by the lake. Stylish . Bedroom perfect size. Room service was excellent
Cons: Cost of room service and food provided for dinner poor standard.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Charming hotel in a beautiful park next to a lake. Excellent food a very enjoyable restaurant and hotel.

8.8 Excellent
Pros: Pool area and garden was really nice. The decor everywhere was excellent and the staff very helpful and friendly.
9.3 Excellent
Cons: Dinner was not of standard you would expect. Would suggest tea or coffee in sitting room should be available anytime for free since no facilities in the room.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The setting and staff were excellent. The gardens were beautifully maintained. Perfect secure parking and great service.
Cons: There was no air conditioning. However we were able to open the windows wide and there was a lovely breeze. There was no separate shower it was a handheld shower in the bath!
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Fabulous setting, very friendly staff, great breakfast!
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The building, it’s decor and surroundings all beautiful. Staff were helpful and very friendly. Comfortable bed and pillows and everywhere super clean.
Cons: It didn’t have air con which I had already read on another review and read the owners response which was understandable. The other benefits of the room and surroundings out weighed this sacrifice.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: It was small and very neatnothing
10.0 Excellent

10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff were exceptionally friendly, welcoming, courteous, sympathic and discreet! A perfect experience.
7.3 Good
Pros: The whole experience was wonderful - from the look of the manor, to the staff, to the owner chauffering us in his Rolls to our dinner reservation. The staff is extremely attentive, without being intrusive. The room was luxurious, but comfortable. A very special place.
Cons: Price per person for breakfast seems high.
7.2 Good
Pros: Very nice romantic place but not for the long stay
Cons: It would be so nice if they made the territory much more!
7.6 Good
Pros: Super friendly staff. Beautiful and very stylish hotel.
7.6 Good
Pros: Gorgeous room, fab bath and shower, absolutely charming staff, stylish hotel.. Great touches like a huge bowl of gorgeous fresh fruit in reception, and breakfast was great - lovely table, prompt service and delicious.
Cons: But don't order dinner there - at least not on a Sunday night. Our dinner experience was not good. Firstly we waited ages and ages. The choice was limited but that was OK, except the food wasn't ok. It was strange bordering on bizarre and really not very nice. We ordered some cold starters (amongst which was a serving of 'green' asparagus which came limp, soggy and almost brown in colour - obviously tinned and frankly inedible) and one hot starter. All the cold starters were served together - there were 6 of us - but the one hot starter only came ages later with all the main courses. The mains were local dishes and really not very nice, weren't hot enough and certainly not up to standard. Shame as hotel otherwise is gorgeous.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: My friend and I thought tis was one of the better hotels either one of us has ever been to--beautifully appointed rooms and excellent service make staying at this small boutique-hotel an excellent experience.
7.6 Good
Pros: Can't speak highly enough of the friendliness & helpfulness of the staff
Cons: No bad points
6.8 Good
Pros: staff very helpful, responsive and friendly. Service was great - efficient but never intrusive;. Rooms and common areas - lounge, pool, gardens, very beautiful, pool was especially nice as its long enough to swim properly in

Pros: Very central and easily accessed by the number 8 from the train station. Good level of security on entrance to property. Near to market which was excellent for small cafes at the start of the day and a night cap at the end.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was lovely. Minimal decorations were well done.Location very good.
Cons: Room was very small, Shower got entire bathroom wet.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff were very friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. The location was excellent in terms of access to the town and beach. The breakfast was very good.

9.3 Excellent
Pros: Friendly staff with good knowledge of the surroundings. Good proposals for what to see and were to eat. Excellent breakfast.
Cons: Air condition did not work Shower was difficult to use
7.5 Good
Pros: Location is good, close to covered market with nice restaurants and brasseries. Style and architecture of hotel attractive.
Cons: Rooms not so practical due to narrow corridor with cupboards. Breakfast not very appealing for its price. Cleaning in breakfastroom / common area below average: 3 spider webs during whole week we were there until I pointed them out. Washing machine very noisy in room above ours.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The hotel was very clean and staff was really friendly!
Cons: It was all good!
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Excellent location, quiet and pitoresque, in downtown Biarritz walking distance from the main beach and parking lots. Charming facility, excellent cleanliness and tastefully-furnished rooms. Beauty kit available including fluffy bathrobe and slippers. Tasty breakfast with lots of handmade cackes, although savory food is inadequate.
Cons: Although it's a 4-star hotel, the reception is open until 22h only. The breakfast is excellent but expensive if considered that most of the savory food (i.e. omelette and bacon) is extra. Rooms' furnishings is minimal, and if you are not a light traveller, you may not know where to place your belongings orderly.
7.0 Good
Pros: Effective air conditioning. Comfortable bed. Friendly and attentative staff
Cons: The room was very small, and the bathroom cramped. Breakfast wasn't included in our deal, and we decided to skip it altogether since it mainly consisted of sweet stuff. The door to the guest toilet in the reception area was broken and people were either locked in or could not lock.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Great location and friendly staff.
Cons: Not a fan of bathrooms with no shower doors/curtains.

9.5 Excellent
Pros: Perfectly located, nice interior style and very helpful team made our stay in town very comfortable and looking forward to be back! Great plus was as well that they accepted dogs, we felt welcome!
Cons: The house (or at least the first floor rooms) seems not to have good isolation, so you hear every door, bath use or louder conversation, can’t judge for the upper floor rooms.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Staff is great! The room is confortable. Good value for the money!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Staff were very helpful and spoke great English. The hotel was in a great spot and really comfortable. I would recommend it highly for either a business or leisure trip to Biarritz
Overview Reviews
The majestic 5-star Regina Biarritz Hotel & Spa by MGallery Collection overlooks the bay of Biarritz. Inspired by French Art Deco and Haute Couture, with elegant rooms and suites overlooking the ocean or golf course, a restaurant with terrace overlooking the lighthouse, and a lounge bar with a vast patio housed under a glass roof inspired by the Eiffel Tower. The spa and outdoor pool add to the overall sense of well-being and relaxation. Valet service and free car park
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We have stayed at Le Regina three times now and so, obviously, we really like the hotel. The rooms, which are admittedly expensive, are beautifully appointed, with huge comfy beds (and the all-important air-conditioning), and are fastidiously maintained by the housekeeping staff throughout the stay. The hotel is a picturesque ten minute walk from the town... which suits us as it means there is an "air of calm" at Le Regina which contrasts with the hustle & bustle of the centre. The pool area is extremely relaxing with plenty of sun-loungers - we have never experienced any difficulty securing a couple whenever we have turned-up. Finally, there is ample private car-parking at the hotel.
Cons: The hotel quite rightly describes its beautiful, period atrium (their "patio under a glass roof") as the jewel of their crown. Unfortunately, it is always empty... which is such a shame. We wonder whether this may be a result of the bar drinks being so very expensive (€7 for a cola; €16 for a cocktail)? The price, and the lack of atmosphere in the room resulting from the lack of guests using this particular facility, certainly served to prevent us from using the facility... again, such a shame as we would have loved to spend our evenings enjoying the surroundings.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The spectalur ocean view from our room The excellent service and friendly staff The wonderful design of the hotel especially the large lounge and the bar
Cons: We would have liked the possibility of ordering something from a menu at breakfast for example a fried egg or an omelette
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Bed and bedding were lovely and room was perfect.
Cons: NA
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The hotel.us first class.
Cons: Nothing at all
5.5 Okay
Pros: The staff was very friendly
Cons: The hotel is not beachfront as advertised. Even with an ocean view room you back up to a loud road. The pool which appears to be next to the ocean in the photos is actually in the parking lot.
7.0 Good
Pros: Free parking is a great ammenity here. The bar is also wonderful-good drinks at pretty reasonable prices. The room was very quiet, which was great, and the staff were friendly. The location is a very easy walk into town.
Cons: I don't think this place is a great value for the $$$. For what you pay, you get tiny rooms, and not the level of service you'd come to expect. For example, there is no minibar, just a fridge where they give you two bottles of water ONCE. We stayed 4 nights, so replinishing our water supply would've been much appreciated, even though we were expected to pay for it. A minibar with snacks and drinks in our room would have been much appreciated. The photos of the pool aren't exactly what the pool actually looks like-it sits right off the parking lot and doesn't have a view. The view from our room was lovely, and the bathrooms fine, but the room was tiny for the price. The breakfast was also very expensive for what you get.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Position, we had room 102 with adjoining space as 3 of us which has a sea view. Staff very helpful & friendly although don’t speak very good English (should have brushed up on my French) Food is amazing & although we only order a main course we received three amuse bouche plus delicious bread & then a small dessert treat. Swimming pool was also in a perfect location within the hotel & plenty of umbrellas for shade. We also had two facials which were amazing!
Cons: Nothing to report!
9.5 Excellent
Cons: The difference of daily room rate when I added 2 extra days at the front and end of stay
7.0 Good
Pros: good location friendly staff the bathroom had a good size
Cons: there isnt an indoor pool expensive for what it offers
