The beautiful view, and warm welcome ! The Hotel is open to the Wind.
Fantastic view; wonderful place to just relax. Friendly, helpful staff, excellent breakfast -- can't say enough about this place. We were sorry to only be there for 3 nights and this was the best part of our vacation! Also a fantastic restaurant nearby (Aeolos) that should not be missed. If you don't rent a scoot like the rest of the annoying tourists motoring around, it's a bit of a hike from the bus drop-off to the hotel -- we didn't know that the hotel staff would pick us up until about 3/4 of the way there -- but they did come and get us so I guess this is not really a complaint, just an FYI! Give them a call!
The views accross the sea of the caldera and volcano were stunning and the rooms in individual buildings were charming. Spiros and his family were always helpful and friendly. The small size of the hotel and the layout of the apartments gave it a nice feel. The pool was nice being on different levels and had views over the sea. Our room had a lovely terrace with bouganvillia growing over the pergola. The rooms were simply furnished but with excellent modern shower rooms and plenty of hot water. Would be better if a snack could be had during the day. There is also only one restaurant in walking distance so a car is necessary.
The view from the pool area was breathtaking. Room was large, contemporary design. Romantic relaxing stay. Excellent. The location for scenic views was fantastic, but a little dark and hilly to walk to restaurants in the evening.
Beautiful view Breakfast
The view!! The room had an amazing views right off the private patio. The hotel is a little bit away from the main city, but it's definitely worth it. The staff was very helpful in helping us to get around.
the see view there is very good transport to the hotel is not convenient. but the stuff is helpful.
The owner is the most helpful concierge I have ever had the pleasure to deal with. The rooms were large, clean and had fantastic views. This is a family run, small facility with a personal touch seldom found in all my travels. My wife and I will only stay at apenemo when on Santorini. Thank you Spiros for making our stay wonderful.
beautiful view, friendly, family run, beautiful pool shuttle service
the service was excellent and staff very friendly Not applicable
View from the hotel is fantastic Far from Fira, about 20 minutes walk! Easily solved when rented a bike.
Very nice staff any beautifull view Beds were to hard on my old back :o)
The view of the sea is excellent, so is the staff! Really doesn't get any better in my opinion. Greece is very beautiful in general, but is not a cheap trip! Local's complain about the Euro and it's impact on travel & their cost of living.
beautiful,sea sight yes
Magnificent view to the caldera, comfortable spacious room (suite 303), nice pool and surrounding area. Friendly staff. It's quite a distance to reach Fira! There is, however, spacious parking space. The bathroom was too small and rather uncomfortable.
We had a great stay at the Lilium. The staff was very nice and helpful, the room was clean, the views were amazing, its location is a bit far from the town, but not too bad. Breakfast was good also. All in all a fantastic stay there. The bathroom had a dampy smell.
A lovely comfortable hotel with fantastic views, the breakfast and dining area was very pleasant, again with wonderful views the food and service was good The hotel is situated a little to far from the town for us to walk and even though the hotel offers free transport it is limited
First would have to be the fantastic view. The staff and service was terrific and it would have to be one of the best places to go to in this big world of ours. Absolutely loved it !!!!
the wiev, the breakfast, the pool area, The too long distance to the city
The view was spectacular! The entire hotel staff was wonderful! We will stay there everytime we visit Santorini and recommend it to anyone visiting the island. No
The staff was absolutely amazing, and it felt like a very warm atmosphere. It's a family run boutique hotel and they take special care in providing as much professionalism and relaxation to their guests as possible. Lunch choices could have been a bit more broad.
Quiet, relaxing, great views, superb service, great time to decompress... Access from the "parking"/main road was difficult. No I.D. sign on the road for first time visitor
My wife and I were celebrating an anniversary and a Law School Graduation and having traveled the world I must say that the family who runs and operates the hotel is nothing short of amazing. A truly wonderful time and we look forward to many returns. This is the best location on the island with the best views and the best services you'll find in Santorini. A must stay place to put on your list.
the staff and people were incredibly nice and helpful. they made it a real pleasure to stay at the hotel. the view from the hotel was incredible, maybe the best ive ever seen in my life. the food was average for a five star hotel
Perfect! Everything is the best and excellent even I just selected a junior suite.
Mina and George are absolutely dedicated to the customer : always smiley, willing to help. The view is absolutely astonishing and there is nothing like dining or having breakfast on the personal terrace in front of the caldera. The arrangements to and from the airport are perfect. Closing the diner service at 9pm is much too early for travelers (however, I must say they accepted to serve our diner at 9:30 pm : this might be the reason why our entree was very poor for a "assortments of greeks entrees") If you want to eat courses following the "old fashion way" on your private terrace, main course should be brought separately from the entree since the latter is cold and the former is warm.
Wonderful, clean and lovely arranged place. The hotel staff is very friendly and helpful. All of them: receptionist, cuisine chef, cleaning and helping staff deserved the highest compliments. Hotel is remote, quiet and romantic with a great view. Definitely recommended for the couples who want to have romantic escape, honeymoon etc… It was very cold water in the swimming pool. It is hardly acceptable for the value paid not to have fair possibility to enjoy in the swimming. Water shall be heated a bit, at least. Rent-a car agent was not professional at all. We booked it through the hotel. Since place is remote, the car is necessity and hotel shall find a good and reliable rent-a car agent. Upon arrival the car shall be filled with the petrol completely and not empty like we found. At check out the rent a car agent shall be present to take over the car as it was agreed. We needed to go to his agency and we almost missed our flight. The chef of the cuisine is doing very well his job, but since he is alone preparing and bringing the orders, sometimes we waited more than it can be expected from the hotel of such a high class. Some additional staff to help the chef is recommended. Some guest may find strange not to receive the hotel bill after check out. We were not surprised, because we red it from others guests review. All mentioned shall not be interpreted as complains, but as a recommendation to improve the service in order to make it in highest level.
I loved the service and seclusion from the main town.
The excellent service and the location made our stay a dream. The weather was a bit cloudy but the view was still breathtaking. We actually new that in October the weather in Greece may change but we adore Santorini even without sun! The island looks amazing all the time!
The Moschotis family made me feel like a princess, no detail was left unattended. I was travelling alone and at the end of season George and Vasilia (Son and Mother) ensured that everything was first class all the way and took a personal interest in making sure my visit to Santorini was great. The hotel itself is like a fantasy, beautifly decorated, a view to die for. There is a gourmet chef at your beck and call until 9:30 pm. Recipes are based on local food and produce is fresh and perfect. The hotel has a driver Kostas, who picks you up from the ferry or airport and you can make arrangements for a few Euros and he'll take you to town or the beaches. I had the hpneymoon suite with my own private outdoor pool and indoor hot tub.
The owner and his wife were nice. The breakfast is small but nice. The owner drove us to the port at the end of our trip and was very helpful they made a mistake when the reservation was made and accused us of choosing the wrong room until i showed them the booking i made and then they had nothing to say. They had no rooms to correct the situation.
The view is incredible. The hotel is very relaxing and serene. The staff was very helpful, especially Jason. He is always there to answer questions and help out with anything you might need.
Incrediable service, breakfast and breath-taking veiw. A true hidden gem, brand new with a flare for class.
It is unorgatable place! Romantic atmosphere and excellent staff. If I come to Santorini I will always stay in Maison Des Lys. The place where you can see senrise and sunset.I case of travaling around island take car or any vehicle.
Excellent VALUE for Money. Unobstructed view of Cyclades. Similar views in Thira & Oia will cost $200-300Euros/nite. Location: Closest to the best beaches (Red/White beach). Helpful staff. Car rental from hotel was $35/day total. Drove everywhere. Car rental a Must! No complaints.
The hotel is really nice, the location is excellent and has a beautiful view on the Caldera, beautiful sunsets of Santorini and is located in a very quiet part of the island, this entails the need to have their own transport (like scooter for rent) because little served. Breakfast has very extensive opening hours, good for a free holiday schedules, and is abundant. Thereabouts there are some tourist attractions within easy reach, like the lighthouse, some beaches reported by guides, and excavations, and in town there are a couple of tavernas where the food is very good. The only reporting negative is the water in the bathroom, probably taken from the sea and purified, but still retains the residue of salt, but I think it is a common problem throughout the island, anyway a small thing compared to the complex.
The room that we stayed had an excellent view of the caldera. The owner and his staff were very friendly and helpful; going an extra mile to make our stay as comfortable as possible. The bathroom is rather small.
Wonderfull view and very nice location.
The ambiance! Only 1 room had air conditioning for a 2 room apartment.
Very friendly staff. Wonderful view of the sea as soon as you open room door. Room are basic but clean. Toilets are small and basic but reasonably clean.
Nothing The owner, a old man, who was realy rude with my friends and i. The last day we asked for a taxi and he said that we had to call for it. We did it but there was nothing available. Then we tried to call a taxi driver that we met when we arrived to the island. The owner said that we had to pay the charge forcalling to a mobilephone. My friend said: ok, we know. My god.the man was crazy, he yelled her saying: Do not say My god.It was so stupid. I do not recommend this hotel to anyone who is planning a lovely stay in Santorini. The hotel is to far from the hub
The service was excellent and very friendly, the rooms were beautiful - CD player in room etc. We had our own sun loungers and the pool, although very small was very much appreciated.
Great location, facilities and staff.
Staff were great, really helpful and friendly. The view is amazing and it is a very romantic setting.Hotel was beautiful. The loft apartment although nice has a ladder to go up to the bedroom. We probably should have be told about this as it was dangerous in the middle of the night to go down to the bathroom. Also the caldera apartments are at the bottom of the hill with a very steep slippery path going up some older people may not have managed this.
The view was amazing. The pool was great and the rooms were lovely. The breakfast was a little average for the price, but the view and location overcame everything!
incredible view, even if from our room you weren't able to see the caldera and the sunset...swimmin pool. too expensive for the quality of the rooms.
The view overcharge for a little hospitality i.e. no water bottle, no toileterry, poor breakfast quality
The rooms are lovely and romantic, so is the private balcony overlooking the Santorini caldera. The swimming pool and the terrace around it are very pictoresque and relaxing, one could spend hours just sitting there and admiring the dramatic scenery of the island from the pool itself. In all, the hotel has a calming aura, it is so pleasant, that one gets reluctant to leave it for too long. Two things must definitely be changed in the description of the hotel. First of all, there is no full English breakfast (one of the main criteria why I choose this hotel). When I asked about it, the employees stared at me clearly revealing that they did not even know what English breakfast is. Overall, the breakfast is very poor for the high price one pays for this hotel. The selection of food is limited and cheap, plastic glasses are a bit insulting. This is the only reason why I felt that I did not get what I ought to for the money paid. It must be definitely mentioned in the description that there are numerous steep steps leading down to the hotel. For me that was slightly discomforting, but elderly guests would find it very difficult.
The staff were very accommodating and kind. The view and location in central Oia were lovely and the accomodations were very traditional. The location and studios we booked and stayed in for 1 night at Caldera Villas were very poor and not nearly worth the price. They were down the caldera 100 difficult steps and the rooms were tiny, very basic and unattractive. One bed was up a narrow ladder in a loft. Fortunately the manager was able to move us to rooms at the Residence Suites annex for our next 2 nights. Those rooms were much larger and more attractive, but with no special amenities. Though much better, this hotel was also somewhat overpriced for what it offered. The breakfast was terrible, especially the orange juice and coffee.
The view was an amazing and the staff as well. Amazing room and service. They didn`t have Frappe or Freddo which is a must in Greece but for the rest was great.
Loved the view, location Bathroom needed ventilation/exhaust fan
Gorgeous views, stunning hotel.. the staff were not very friendly, food was terrible and i love greek food but there cuisine was very western without the knowledge so very disappointed with the overall service off the staff and food!
The view, location and buffet breakfast
The view is amazing. The restaurant is great, and the staff were wonderful. Bed was a little uncomfortable, and there was nothing within walking distance.
Fabulous 2 bedroom villa perched high up on edge of cliff. Magnificent view. Private pool and terrace where breakfast is served. Great personalized service. Nothing
Location and scenery The pool water is far to cold for a resort; Do the staff not ask why there are a dozen people around a pool on a warm day and nobody is swimming?
Views and food were great. Staff was not friendly or helpful, and the rooms were not that clean.
The rooms, views, facilities were fabulous.A lovely location and hotel perfect for honeymooners... Would highly recommend to friends and family..perfect location away from the crowds and just a short distance from Fira. No
The view from the hotel is amazing! The location of the hotel, close to Fira but not in Fira is ideal for those seeking a peaceful vacation. The free hotel shuttle bus to Fira is also a plus. Fantastic breakfast buffet. The bed was unusually hard and very uncomfortable. The A/C needed to be replaced. The bathroom needs to be updated.
The location was good, the room was clean and adequate in size. The hotel is in 2 parts (not mentioned on web site). The part we stayed on did not have access to the 3 pools and restaurants unless we crossed a busy main road so we felt isolated. Not enough loungers for all the guests, especially annoying when they are empty but just draped in towels and the staff tell you there is nothing they can do! Also hotel has countless steps to pools and no lift!
outstanding view, atmosphere the staff behaviour
Very reminiscent of Mamma Mia. The style is exactly what you'd expect of Santorini. The staff are very nice and helpful. I only had a dinner and breakfast so I'll reserve my comments on the food because I may not have experienced all the hotel has to offer. The room was so nice. My only complaint is not with the hotel but with some obnoxious travelers that seemed to enjoy themselves a little too loudly. The food but I didn't have much of it to know what might ve been better.
We had a fantastic time, hotel is in a great location and staff were very friendly. Hotel has nice pool and restaurant, and rooms were spacious and clean. Akroteri is a nice quiet town in santorini, and there is a bus stop right outside hotel should you want to explore more which we recommend. Kostas the manager was especially friendly and welcoming and was a good source of advice for places to visit. He really helped us get the most out of our time time in santorini. He also helped us with arrangements for the next part of our holiday in Crete, including arranging a rental car to meet us off the boat at midnight! We would definitely go back there.
The people are amazing and nothing is too much trouble. There is a family feel to the place which is lovely.
Away from chaos of Fira. Best to have your own transport but bus stop across street. Lovely pools and very nice staff. Standard family room small for four. Other suites available. Kosta the owner very helpful for all travel arrangements and rental cars. Good WIFI. Convenience store next door. Very peaceful! Asked to be moved from standard family room to two rooms. If suites not available go for two separate rooms.
The people at the hotel werecourteous and friendly. The owner went out of his way to make us feel welcome and comfortable. We came to Santorini for R&R as we were traveling with our grandchildren throughout Europe (Greece, England and France) and wanted to have a place for the children to relax. The pools and food were good and the staff treated us very well. We thought it was excellent value. We ate most of our meals at the hotel and found them very acceptable. We would recommend this hotel to anyone wanting some R&R with the option to do some sightseeing if you rent a car. Also the rooms were cleaned everyday, and the facility overall was clean and well maintained.
We liked the location. We liked the advice on the local area we were given. We liked the 2 pools.
We liked the atmosphere, the location away from the touristy parts and surrounded by beautiful nature and authentic Greek life. The pools were great, the staff was friendly and helpful and it was a comfortable home away from home.
Cleanliness, position, service, food, relax, out of crawded spot None
Helpful staff, nice pool. Rooms are only cleaned every two days, and they didn't tell us before we used all our towels. After we requested several times, they did give us extra towels eventually.
Extremely friendly, family oriented service. Very adequate restaurant and pool services. Clean and easily accesible location. No.
We liked the cleaniness of the hotel. The receptionist was helpful. We thought the breakfast was poor and very uninteresting, no variety.
Very personal service we received. Convience to the beach, clubs and restaurants. A/C did not work in our room.
It was so pretty and quaint, very friendly staff, nice pool, and walking distance to the famous black beach. Also, good quality for the price. The bed was really hard.
People were very friendly and the place was nice The breakfast could have been better
Friendliness, personalized service, free pick-up transfer from airport
is very near of the beach in a quiet area of the island. economically priced room is horrible, everything is very old, furniture, linens, towels, pillows are not comfortable.
The hotel staff were extremely nice. I was travelling on my own. They provided a free shuttle to and from the airport. Always on hand to help. I had a large sized room that was very clean with good facilities.
The staff was not coordinated, We had an e-mail saying the airport transfer was free and when we got there they wanted to charge us, and we had to insist to get the service as it was announced on an e-mail we received from them.
Very hospitable staff! Amazing Renata on the Reception :) Beautiful hotel, comfortable rooms, good location, 15 minutes to Athens Port, and local buses go every 15-20 min to Fira. We liked everything
So clean, very pretty property, staff were funny, friendly and helpful. Location is brilliant for beach and sight seeing. I liked everything.
We booked this hotel just a day before we were arriving. It was good deal and dx-room we got. There were swiming pool just in front of the room. very good location near the ocean. We were there in October(off season), so if it was in summer (peak season) that would be great fun. Room has everything. even the kitchen with all(dishes, cutlery, pan etc...). A shower room a bit smelled. The hotel was great except that.
Everything! I absolutely recommend this place to anyone. We have been travelling Europe for 2 months now and have stayed at everything from a below 1 star hostel to a five star hotel and Villa Rose beats them all! Maria goes above and beyond to make your experience the best one possible. None. If your choosing between here and somewhere else in Santorini - choose villa rose!
Small but quite clearn and has everything you need inside None
The service from Maria & Nikolos keeps you blindfolded! They are amazing! Catching sleep for just a couple of hours a day to keep receiving the guests and bidding them a farewell from the air/sea ports as a voluntary service, they attend to every call with the same care! Mr Nikolos, one of the owners, defends, "every 10 euros earned should make a way partly back to the well being of the hotel and their guests" and adds that he enjoys it. This is apparent if you encounter the hosts yourself. The rooms are kept 'spotlessly' clean, a few edibles replenished each day and every call attended to, patiently. I would rate a 9 on 10! This is not something I didn't like - I only don't want the guests to choose this property with expectations and later get dejected due to this reason: the property isnt located on a sea-facing edge of the island. And if it did, I am afraid if I could ever afford to stay at this place! And am happy it's so reachable to many like me! It's neverthless quite centrally located yet secluded from the tourist buzz. If you arrive here at night, please wait till the next day break before you give up!
Best place we have stayed in Europe! Maria the host was fantastic, made us feel very welcome and went above and beyond as a host. The rooms are fairly spacious, very clean and comfortable. Highly recommended, great value for money. Thank you Maria for making our stay so enjoyable.
Maria, out host, is the best host we've had. It's just a 5 minute walk from most things in Fira.
This was a great small hotel, just outside of Fira (less than 5 minute walk). Location turned out to be great because it was really easy to get in and out of, quiet, easy parking (get an ATV!), but super easy walk into Fira. It was also really easy to get to other locations around the island vs. some of the 'in-town' hotels. It also has a beautiful view of the Caldera and sunset. The staff was amazingly helpful with everything, including helping us coordinate with lost baggage and directing us to good places to get clothes in the interim. The pool was very nice to relax and staff was quick with towels and drinks. The only downside is that the shower was a little small and the Wifi was could be a little slow at times. The hotel does not have the same type of view as the hotels on the cliffs in Fira or Oia, but for the price, ease of access and other positives; it is well worth the value and very relaxing.
