Nice public and external areas. Good location Sound proofing between rooms was very poor. No specific bar area (probably because hosting 2 weddings simultaneously).
close to beach; good swimming pool; comfortable room; helpful staff; quiet neighborhood few restaurants within walking distance
The swimming pool and the nice view from the balcony of our room. The breakfast was very poor and the coffee machine was like the ones you find in stations. There were weddings during all the afternoon and evening on Saturday and it was really boring having all these people around with the music everytime. The welcome is not very nice. The bedrooms are dated, the bathroom is absolutely not a 5 stars bathroom ! Furthermore the hotel is not located 800 m from the entry of the ruins but rather 2 km ! All in all this hotel is not more than a 3 stars one and it seems they only care about weddings. We were very very disappointed of it.
the hot tub and the view of the distant ocean There is no room service for food order which is unheard of in a 5-star hotel. Breakfast was mediocre at best. I would rate this hotel a 3 to 4 star at best.
Locaton near to the beach. Swiming pool available in summertime
Hotel Lobby is five star. Room is clean and comfortable. Staff not very helpful. Room is 3 star and breakfast is 1 star. The last morning at 7:30 a.m. the food ran out and they never replenished it. Wifi not really working. They advertised it as free but tried to charge me and then it didn't really work. I paid extra for "prestigious ocean view" but ocean was 3 blocks away an I could catch a small glimpse of it.
The staff was outstanding they went the extra mile so my request were granted. The hotel is new with every conviences. The large grounds are beautiful, sitting under an orange tree sipping wine. The location was great with many cities within driving distance. The breakfast was great. Indoor and outdoor pools also beach near-by. The ruins in paestum a must see. There is nothing I did like about this hotel.
The room in the hotel was very spacious and well fitted out. Good 4 star quality.. The hotel' restaurant' was somewhat strange. There was a short menu, and what we had from it was quite reasonable, However, no one else seemed to be eating there which gave rather a quiet feeling. There is also a large annex building which gives the impression , when first approaching the hotel, of being abandoned and scruffy. Initially, our hearts sank !
The size of the room was excellent and the hotel is very modern. Both swimming pools were not working. Also, the reception area is makeshift. For a five star hotel it didn't seem to have a lot of staff on to help (eg no Porter). Coffee at breakfast was very poor standard.
it was close to the greek ruins The rooms were very cold, we were told the heat would come on at 5pm which it did and it took a long time to heat the room up but then the heat turned off in the middle of the night and again it was very cold.
Lovely pool and despite the number of apartments, rooms etc, it felt quite secluded in your own apartment. I think it is better for families with younger children than ours. The OK Club people were good and friendly. There was no information in the rooms (seems to be an Italian trait) or in the reception area about the hotel itself. We missed out on our breakfast because I'd forgotten it was included and the receptionist never mentioned the breakfast times. However, I realise I should have asked about it, so it's my fault. Finally, the tools in the kitchen were poor - eating cutlery was fine, but there was only a bread knife, a fish slice and a pair of tongs! We had to buy a bottle opener and cut cheese very finely as there was no grater.
All in this hotel is wonderful (beautiful territory, seaside, nice staff)!!!! We liked it very much.
The hotel is a destination in itself, with a huge pool and easy access to a lovely private beach. It is also a great value. Priced very moderately, yet the staff are in white jackets and ties and the facilities are very impressive. Paestum, the fabulous World Heritage site full of Greek temples, is about two miles away. The Oleandri is great for those arriving by car. For train travelers, be aware that the Paestum "train station" is very remote and you will find neither cabs nor busses when you step off the train. And it is about 2.5 miles to the hotel, a rather long walk if you have baggage. So email the hotel staff to call a cab for you in advance of your arrival.
Fantastic garden beach 100 meters but hidden by pinewood
Excellent location and great value for money.
They charged us twice, once when checking out, we paid cash, and then they charged our credit card as well! I am not impressed!
Great swimming pool for young children and lots of shade No snack bar at the beach; no information/guest pack to tell you basic things like what time is breakfast, how to operate the air conditioning etc.
The breakfast was rather poor, there was no cheese
The staff were very friendly and some could speak excellent English. The facilities and inclusions were great. The beach was amazing. It was very close to the Paestum Ruins. This is a place we would definitely stay again. Nothing...
Good hotel with green nice territory. Nice sandy beach. We booked apartments with kitchen. There was gas cooker but there weren't matches. After dinners we couldn't wash plates and spoons as there were no washing-up liquids and cleaning suppliers. The dirty plates and caps were 2 days as reception said that personal wash the utensils for extra charges 20 euros. What the reason to have kitchens if you can't to use one!
The hotel is a facinating old building in a quiet spot within 10 minutes walk of the wonderful archialogical site at Paestrum with its tasteful cafes, bars and gift shops. Hotel staff were welcoming and friendly and some spoke English. The room was a good size and well furnished with a huge, comfortable bed. There was a good selection of fresh foods on the breakfast buffet. I strongly recommend eating dinner at the hotel for a taste of good, traditional, home-cooked Italian food at a very reasonable price - much better quality and value than any restaurant we found on our stay in Italy.
The wonderful personal attention to detail given by the owners. The lovely breakfast and the setting of the hotel right next to the historic ruins.
So for me it was like I have visited my grandparents... This was most important thing. Concerning room service, food and so on I can say there is no problem...Internet connection is free and parking is free on hotel territory.
very helpful staff and great locaton t Paestum. The area is quiet and good spot to rest - should have stayed longer. Very good value after spending in Rome and Amalfi area
Wonderfully, sensitively, updated granary--much like some of the villas I was at when in Italy on business some years ago. very comfortable. And one of the single best meals I've had in more than 30 years of travel/business in Italy. Top notch all around. A nice walk from the actual museum and site, but a lot if you are tired and dragging a bag (my iPhone didn't get through to them for pickup, for some reason). Must get train tickets someplace else, as there is no tkt. office at train station. Were advised, not a a problem.
The staff were very friendly and accomodating. Dinner was quite tasty and satisfying. We had to catch an 08:30 train the next morning, eventhough we walked from the train station the staff insisted that they drive us in the morning. That simple act of going out of ones' way to help two people on a holiday was remarkable and very noteworthy of saying that this was an excellent choice to stay and eat while in Paestum. I would stay here again if we were to go back.
A fabulous place, well-situated, well-appointed and with exceptionally helpful and accomodating staff. View of le scavi from our room. Pleasant and tranquil surroundings. But -- the best -- the staff went out of their way to make our visit a positive experience. We felt truly welcomed. We went during the off-season so unfortunately the restaurant was closed. (Not a criticism -- just would have liked to have experienced it....)
We had a wonderful time. The staff was extremely helpful. The location was peaceful and just a short walk from the archaeological site, museum and restaurants. The rooms had all the modern conveniences with an old world charm and lovely views of the countryside. We enjoyed the variety of food served for breakfast in the spacious and cheery dining area The rates are good and the hotel is charming. We were two couples travelling together in Italy for three weeks, and this was our favorite hotel. We wished we could have stayed longer! no
Friendly, helpful staff. Close to ruins at Paestum. We had a nice porch.
The hotel is perfect visiting the temples, and the family room accomodated our family very comfortably. The staff of the hotel is amazing - transferred us to and from the train station in a private vehicle to facilitate a tight schedule, and the restaurant affiliated with the hotel opened 1/2 hour early to accomodate our young son. Highly recommended!
The village people with their entertainment were very pleasant and made sure everyone joined in the various activities. We saw approx 6 weddings whilst at the hotel which was very nice. The shuttle service to and from the beach was great. It was good that some of the staff at reception had a little english as we do not speak italian! Great swimming pool which was never overcrowded.
nice lobby lounge-bar with open fireplace and cosy leather sofas, a christmas tree on every balcony in the hotel a very old gum (with dust already on it), stuck on the inside door of the shower, very unclean bathroom (toilet seat cover was yellow on the bottom side!), horrible bed - hard head cushion, itchy blankets etc.., tv smallest possible, lucky for me I was one of two guests at the hotel as the sound isolation of the rooms is very poor, but not poorest I have ever experienced. not realy a 4* hotel.
Beautiful hotel with pleasant staff; beautiful swimming pool and outside area. We enjoyed our stay. The hotel is equipped for marriages and functions, which is no problem as such, bur the restaurant for the hotel guests is therefor not intimate, but much to grand. Closing of an area of the restaurant or letting guests eat outside at smaller tables (for four in stead of eight) might be an option.
The hotel is very spacious and elegant. Big rooms, somewhat overdesigned.. (gold and turquoise fabric walpapers and golden finishings...- not my style), the staff is very polite. The dining room feels like a wedding place, pool nicely maintained and regularly cleaned, the lobby and the gigantic terrace in front makes an impression of a 5* hotel. The TV's are small (15" or something like that) and old technology (don't know - what was before lcd and Plasma?). The selection of the drinks in the bar is very poor and the bartender obviously a student or similar, not even knowing what Port wine is?! They didn't have it so it didn't matter :)
The kindness of owner and the disponibility.
The hosts were great, and so were the two twin cats. We were welcomed warmly, good breakfast, and friendly advice about Paestum No
Great views. Very close to Paestum.
Anna is fabulous! Slightly hard to find.
the owners location
The staff were wonderful, very friendly and alwaysavailable. I will absolutely stay there again. No.
Small and friendly, location, comfort. Breakfast was not great
Mammarella has truly and completely won my heart! The whole of the property is well kept and amazingly well appointed. The guest rooms are clean, large, and comfortable. The dining areas, both inside and outside are welcoming. The staff is friendly and helpful and make guests truly feel at home. The meals, we had full board, were all amazing. My partner and I are both Le Cordon Bleu trained chefs, we have high standards for food. Each meal was magical in flavor, substance and truly authentic and true to seasonality. We ended up staying an extra day because we were enjoying ourselves so much. Not only will we be back, but we're planning on adding this to our culinary tour itineraries. I would highly recommend Mammarella! There are only two things I don't like about Mammarella and its staff. First is that it's too far away from our home for us to go there more often. Second, we could only squeeze in one extra day due to our fixed itinerary. Seriously, I would love to tell everyone that it was the worst place ever just out of selfishness so it's never crowded. I guess we'll have to share.
A very nice B&B. Easy to find. The owner and the staff was very helpful and polite. The dinner was very nice and tasty.
Very friendly and hospitable family running the hotel. Excellent food, very nice room. Great value for money.
Nice place for one or two day to visite the contry side good diner and very friendly poeple
Fabulous views from the room. a clean room and reasonably comfortable beds. a large evening meal. They sorted us out a breakfast about 1 hour earlier than they normally would as we had to be away. The directions to the hotel were awful and it took us ages to find the place. The evening meal was fine but rather confusing. Food kept appearing - it turned out this was just the antipasti! It was also rather heavy on the mozzarella it got a little wearing after a while - in general it was nice though. Unfortunately no white wine or beer for the meal.
Great! - Lovely location (much nicer than the coast for visiting Paestum), Clean and modern room (with a/c), Very freindly and accomodating family (Dad speaks good English), Fab food - and lots of it. All at a great price - we paid 80 Euro for b&b + Evening meal (in February) for 2 people and a dog (No the dog didn't eat!). Highly recommended!
The tranquility of the farm and the surrounding countryside. Not great roads to get there, but you can't have everything.
The cuisine was truly exceptional . Good value for money. No negative points to mention.
The suite and pool were fantastic. Comfortable sun beds both at pool and private beach. Good breakfast. The hotel is relatively new and immaculate. There seemed to be a lot of rules around pool usage. The rooms or reception would have benefited from a good information guide on the local area in English.
Size of swimming pool; clean & comfortable bedrooms; very helpful reception staff Food choice & quality; a/c method in rooms; stupid rules about when to use pool [E.G. not between 1300-1600!]; literally a place to stay - no entertainment or hotel shop etc; needs another comfy chair in cavernous lounge room of suite; there is not free access to internet in public places and wireless access in rooms costs 4 euros an hour
The host was very friendly in spite of English language challenge. The restoration of the main house, originally built in 900 AD was excellent. Restaurant served wonderful food - lunch and breakfast. Loved the simple country setting. An excellent place for visiting Paestum. No.
Very accomodating as I did not arrive until midnight overnight stay only
A decent, family-run hotel with a restaurant and rooms of some character. Be aware that it is in a little place called Laura, one hour's walk from the ruins at Paestum or the stations at Paestum and Capaccio, so you probably want a car or bike, though it is only five minutes' walk from the beach and some good restaurants.
What I liked was the hotel/villa itself and the people were nice. The room did not warm up the hot water ran out fast..and we could not really choose our meals...they brought out course after course..and if you did not want anymore the price of the meal stayed the same.
The opportunity to get to know our hosts and their family during our two night stay. Also, our hosts went out of their way to make our stay enjoyable.
