The Hampton Inn facility and staff was excellent When I showed up the hotel did not have my reservation as it was never forwarded by the booking company. The hotel and all others around downtown were sold out. No other suitable options could be found and I was left to find a hotel several miles away on my own. A very poor experience with Kayak and hotels.com
The night we stayed wasn't very busy, so we were upgraded from a 2 Queen Standard to a 2 Queen Suite for no additional cost. Staff was very pleasant and helpful, and free breakfast was substantial.
Location, good breakfast and breakfast takeaway. Good staff, nice restaurant. One of only two good downtown hotels. Entrance to restaurant: seems dark and uninviting, actually i thought it was closed from outside.
Close to great bars and restaurants I thought the parking fee was included, it is not. But it's only $15 , so no big deal .
Needed a place to accommodate family for Thanksgiving week. The rooms were very clean, the staff very friendly, the lounge and restaurant were great, and breakfast was delicious. Plus they cleared the snow off our car in valet.
Excellent service by front desk staff, particularly Steve, who went out of his way to be of assistance. Made the stay more than a chain hotel even None
Location - close to the 'downtown' area where some restaurants were actually open at 9 pm - Albany is a sleepy town...four downhill blocks from the egg, conference center and capitol - OK to walk around no pool, web site incorrectly states no parking fee, whereas the 15 USD are un-avoidable, standard breakfast, expensive per night, even during the week, overpriced to cater to the business folks...
We were attending a show at the Palace Theatre and the hotel was conveniently close by. The hotel was nice, clean, and provided a good selection at the complimentary breakfast. Pay for parking
Extremely easy to get to off the highway. As soon as we entered the lobby we were impressed with the hotel. It was fairly luxurious compared to anything we had seen in this modest price range. There were two very rapid moving elevators, a beautiful room with only one drawback. The room temperature was set at 66 when we walked in, and it took a while to get the heat up to 72, which was as high as we got it to go, despite setting it at 75. The breakfast was very good. Lots of choices as expected, including fresh fruit, make your own waffles, hot sausages, omelettes and home fries. Many cereals and other fare. The staff was excellent, calling into our room after a short time to see how we were doing. I would DEFINITELY stay there again should the need to go to Albany arise. The typical wall unit for a/c and heat found in virtually all hotels these days took its time to warm up the room.

Wonderful room, with a great office area, a very comfortable and large bed, an amazing bathroom, and good blackout blinds. Not much of a view; and of course the hotel is being remodeled so a lot of areas were not functional. Will be a great place though in the future.
The people greeting us were very friendly; the room was wonderful Only 2 spaces avail to occupy for valet parking; very friendly when we were finally able to park but had to circle around forever; and the breakfast person was closing down breakfast as people still waiting in lines without warning

Quiet despite the reviews. Bed was so comfy and staff was friendly No food after 10 pm. We were at a concert that didn't end until 1145. We were starving and there was no food anywhere. Wish they had food that could be put in microwave
Nice room Fire alarm caused evacuation after midnight. No apology or consideration
room is nice and bed is very comfortable renovation and no / little public space
Nothing Yes, we arrived at 1:30 am and told we had no res./no record of us and they had no other available rooms. Front desk clerk seemed to find this very amusing.Drove 1 1/2 hrs home. Then they tried to charge my credit card saying we had checked in at 6:00 am!
Beds really comfortable. Excellent customer service.
Hotel under construction. Price did not reflect this. Only one elevator working. Breakfast area a poor excuse for a dining area. Valet sideswiped my husband's 2 day old truck causing several thousand dollars of damage. I could go on.
Very good staff Nothing
The front desk was very helpful, breakfast was fine and the location was good. Overall a good experience. No, if any, no shuttle/bus to airport? But they can help you grab a taxi for 5 minutes waiting this time.
Location was great, nice bar, staff was pleasant. AC was not working well, can't open windows, toilet didn't flush well, not enough luxury for the money spent. I will not go back.
Front desk staff was not informative about facilities / hotel stay.
We stayed at the hotel over the 4th of July weekend, and we were given a room on the upper floor facing the capital, so that we could see the fireworks. The hotel has a nice indoor pool, but because the heat was not working well and the water was pretty cold, our kids spent a lot of time playing in the hot tub (which was warm but not hot). The fireworks were fantastic from the hotel, even with a slightly obstructed view. With our youngest one asleep, it was perfect to be able to stay in the hotel with the older one, who could go right to sleep when it was over. We ordered room service twice, and it was a challenge both times to be understood by the person taking the order. One time we were bounced around on the phone and had to give the order to three different people. There are a variety of fees for room service, including an 18% "service charge" that the menu says is not a gratuity but that comes up on the bill as a gratuity, so it was unclear whether we needed to add an additional tip for the server.
