With a stay at Hotel Rural Casona De Torres in Mondejar, you'll be 14.2 mi (22.9 km) from Parque Arqueológico de Recópolis and 14.5 mi (23.4 km) from Castle of Zorita de los Canes. Featured amenities include a business center, complimentary newspapers in the lobby, and multilingual staff. A roundtrip airport shuttle is provided for a surcharge (available 24 hours), and self parking (subject to charges) is available onsite.
Pros: Location just off the main square in the town. Having booked a room with two single beds, on check-in we were allocated a large room which had one double bed and a second put-you-up type double bed rater than the usual two adjacent beds of the same quality, We queried this and were immediately offered two double-bedded rooms with an outer door - effectively a suite. Both rooms had a bath, rather than the shower in the first room. One of the baths was awhirlpool type - so this was definitely an upgrade! Xavier - who arranged the room change - also came over to the bar in the square to assist us with ordering food and getting a quiet table.
Cons: Not the hotel's fault but because of the one-way system access to the town centre is very circuitous, starting with Calle de la Industria, which made our spirits dive!
Pros: Good choice for breakfast
Cons: Nothing really
Pros: The hotel is very comfortable, clean and well-organised with charming staff. Breakfast is extremely good with a selection of different dishes. We really can't find anything to criticise!
Pros: This hotel is so charming and in the middle of the sweetest town. The facilities were very well maintained and clean. The view from our room was so special, looking down on the main street and up to the cathedral. The breakfast was delicious and had traditional Spanish offerings. I would definitely stay here again - a hidden gem!
Cons: This would have been a fine family option for older children, but was difficult with younger children with the intricate decor. However, the staff of the hotel was extremely welcoming of our children (ages 3 and 4).
Pros: The location and the wonderful owners and the food is delicious.
Pros: Everything was above wonderful for us. We shall return for certain.
Cons: We liked absolutely everything
Cons: it is very quiet, clean and beautiful. I like it very much.
Pros: The hotel excellent.
Pros: I have stayed in hotels and eaten around the world and this hotel was my "tops". The hosts and staff were excellent in every way. The food, well "magnific" is the only way to describe its form , style and taste. If every hotel was at 80% of this supreme place, all would be well! Dr R M Reid
With a stay at HOSTAL RURAL MORATIN in Pastrana, you'll be within a 5-minute walk of Pastrana Palacio Ducal and Church of Our Lady of the Assumption. A roundtrip airport shuttle is available for a surcharge.
Pros: A very much needed air conditioned room and a cold pool on the terrace was a joy after a 500 km motorcycle trip in 35’c temperature. Stunning village with friendly bars and restaurants There is no parking at the hotel but a car park for tourists is less than 100 metres away Photos are of the village
Pros: Helpful and kind reception staff. Cosy room, just what I needed. EXCELLENT location!
Cons: Noise insulation was not good,. I could hear the couple across the corridor having sex at 01 am...
Pros: It's comfortable, the owner is extremely helpful and friendly. There's an outdoor terrace and pool which would be great in hot weather.
Cons: The only downside is that there's no car park - but there's easy free parking close by.
With a stay at Palaterna in Pastrana, you'll be just steps from Church of Our Lady of the Assumption and Parish Tapestry Museum. Featured amenities include dry cleaning/laundry services and luggage storage.
Pros: friendly and helpful owner
Pros: Toast with oil and honey, little sprinkle of cinnamon...... Fantastic,...... Great hotel lovely helpful people all around.... Great weekend to escape the heat in Madrid.
Pros: Pastrana is a fascinating little town and this hotel is great - central, friendly staff, nice breakfast, comfortable air-conditioned rooms.
Cons: The only issue was the parking - we had to go to a public car park which we had a bit of trouble finding at first. But it was perfectly safe and less than 10 minutes' walk from the hotel. You can stop outside the hotel to unload your luggage.
Pros: The village was really pretty even at the end of December.
Cons: Wifi wasn't the best, it kept coming and going.
Pros: Very nice place! The staff was very friendly. Beautiful location in front of la fuente de los cuatro caños
Pros: Buffet Breakfast, just grand, and all that was needed in a day that was working up to a 30 C. midday Temp. The Americano coffee 5*.
Cons: Vile early morning sewer smell in bathroom lingered for an hour or so.
Pros: This is a lovely family ran, traditional Spanish hotel in what can only described as a beautiful location. The staff although not able to speak much if any English could not be more helpful and welcoming. Although we booked a twin room, they gave us a Double which was not ideal but I think they did so as they wanted to give us the best room they had, which had a lovely balcony overlooking the square with the fountain. At approx £50 per night for myself and my son, it was excellent value for money. The breakfast was very humble in the traditional style and again this was a lovely touch that we enjoyed. I would recommend Palertana and the village of Pastranas to anybody.
Cons: The only complaint would be that we booked a twin room but got a double bed, but even that was done with best intentions by the owners. Everything else was excellent.
With a stay at Hotel & Spa Rural Las Nubes in Albalate de Zorita, you'll be 4.6 mi (7.4 km) from Parque Arqueológico de Recópolis and 5.3 mi (8.5 km) from Castle of Zorita de los Canes. The front desk is staffed during limited hours. Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: Amazing views from its hilltop location although if like us you are on a motorcycle be prepared for a few miles of gravel/unpaved road to get to it
Cons: Access road
Pros: Amazing views. One staff member who can speak English was nathalie and she was brilliant, but she isn't there every day.
Cons: Tired decoration, rooms from the 80s. Overall dilapidated. Very limited menu, if you are vegetarian contact them in Spanish in advance.
Pros: Beautiful views. Excellent dinner. Friendly staff.
Cons: Wifi not working in suite.
Pros: Location, the caves and the pool
Cons: The way to get to the property :(
Pros: Amazing views and rooms.
Cons: Very detached location so reliant on food at the hotel. Very limited selection for evening meal but ok.
Pros: We loved the location, it was very quiet and relaxing. The views were amazing especially during sunset. The swimming pool was very clean al all times and the personnel was always helpful and with a smile on their face.
Cons: The room we stayed needs to be refurbished as it was obvious that it was around 20 years old. The bed, although very comfortable, was a bit unstable. Nothing else to add.
With a stay at Hotel Mayno in Pastrana, you'll be a 4-minute walk from Pastrana Palacio Ducal and 6 minutes by foot from Church of Our Lady of the Assumption. Featured amenities include a business center, dry cleaning/laundry services, and a 24-hour front desk. Planning an event in Pastrana? This hostal has facilities measuring 538 square feet (50 square meters), including conference space.
Pros: The location was ideal for a stop between North and Mediterranean Spain.
Cons: The breakfast was disappointing and the staff not as friendly as expectsd
Pros: Hotel Mayno exceeded our expectations. It is a quintessentially traditional, family run small Spanish hotel located minutes from the beautiful centre of Pastrana. The hotel is spacious, clean with lots of charm. The staff were very welcoming and accommodating even though we arrived quite late. The room like the hotel generally was very clean and spacious as was the bathroom. Wifi was excellent. There is some parking right outside the hotel at no charge. Breakfast was adequate served by friendly staff with a rather unique slideshow with musical accompaniment projected onto one of the walls of the breakfast room whilst we ate! Beautiful view from our room.
Pros: The video show of the history of Pastrana during the good breakfast.
Pros: The hotel was very well-positioned for walking through the streets of historic Pastrana. The room was very spacious and comfortable for the four of us. The jacuzzi tub worked well and would be very romantic or relaxing after a day of hiking/sightseeing. The view from the room was incredible. There was great service at the hotel's breakfast, which was traditional Spanish offerings.
Cons: I have no complaints about our stay. Unfortunately we came to Pastrana off-season, so it was VERY quiet in town. Otherwise it was a wonderful visit to Pastrana.
Pros: Staff very nice. Breakfast good with a slide show of the history of Pastrana. Room good size and clean.
Pros: Good parking, good location. We found interesting things in the village we didn't even know about. The tapestries were amazing -the museum is located inside the church. We had the tour in Spanish, but grasped some of it. It's pretty close to Cuenca (hanging houses, oh wow) and the Enchanted City (fantastic rock formations). The concierge, Fatima, was very welcoming. The included breakfast was pretty average, but there was plenty and the toast was very good.
Pros: The place is full of intersting articles like a museum Very special A very comfortable place to stay
Situated in the small town of Estremera, Hospedería El Convento offers rooms with air conditioning and heating. River Tajo is an 8-minute drive away. The rooms features individual décor and include a flat-screen TV and wardrobe. Each has a private bathroom with a bath or a shower. The property also has a restaurant and a snack bar. Free parking is possible on site. Madrid can be reached in around 50 minutes by car.
Pros: The place was perfectly situated towards the east of Madrid. The lady managing the place was very helpful, it was in a tiny town and the local people were very friendly.
Cons: Bed was a bit hard but otherwise absolutely fine for a short stay.
Pros: Fantastic hotel in a great and convenient location
Cons: Every thing was great couldn't fault it
Pros: Very nice upgraded room. Very clean
Cons: First this hotel has only a few rooms. I arrived but there is no front desk so walked up the steps but no reception. At that point I made a reservation and from that received or made a phone call from the facility but they did not speak any english, we finally connected by text and google translate and someone was sent down who checked me in.
Pros: Excellent. I recommend this hospedaria. Cleaning is impeccable. Heating very good. And the more important is the small village atmosphere of the neighbourhood.
Pros: I try not to stay in accommodation in the centre of little Spanish towns because of the narrow streets and often difficult and tortuous access and parking problems - having to drag suitcases around the streets etc. - plus satnav often sending one round in circles (four circuits in this case). Luckily the town was, despite it being the start of fiestas, very quiet so I parked in the narrow street outside to book in and then left the car just up the road overnight. This is not an hotel. It is rooms on the first floor of a property occupied by the owner, accessed via a single street door and a steep staircase. You are signed in and payment made on arrival then given a key for the room and the front door and left to your own devices. Having said that, the room was excellent; well-designed with quality fittings.... so no complaints at all. My problem with my stay here was that I didn't manage to find anywhere to have dinner or breakfast the next morning (see my separate comments about what I didn't like.) I suggest the owner of El Convento does a little more research and provides proper advice as to what is really available in town as far as dinner and breakfast is concerned. The fact I couldn't get anything to eat or drink really spoiled the experience.
Cons: My gripe about my overnight stay is not with the owner of El Convento although I think I should have been made aware of likely problems. It is with the town itself. The recommended restaurant, a short stroll away, is, according to one of the local residents I was speaking to, rather erratic as to its opening times. I therefore thought I’d better check at the bar and they said they would be open for dinner at 8.00pm. I sauntered into the square at 8.20 to find that they’d decided not to open at all. The place was in darkness, bar and all. Someone told me there was one other restaurant on the main street so I walked there to find them sweeping up and closing. They suggested the petrol station cafe/restaurant on the main road out of town so I hiked it back to my car only to find them also closing up for the night. The waitress, having heard my story, offered me what was left of the croquetas on the bar which I hurriedly ate with a glass of tinto. I then bought a Kit Kat at the petrol station shop and drove back, extremely brassed off with the whole experience.
With a stay at Hotel Restaurante MR in Barajas de Melo, you'll be 13 mi (20.9 km) from Constitucion Plaza and 13.1 mi (21.1 km) from Nuestra Senora de la Asuncion Church. Featured amenities include a business center, complimentary newspapers in the lobby, and dry cleaning/laundry services. Guests may use a roundtrip airport shuttle for a surcharge, and free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: Staff was extremely friendly & helpful.
Pros: Staff tried to be helpful. Food very basic, but OK.
Cons: Building in need of repair. No drink making facilities. Long way from main road.
Pros: It was very clean. And when you eventually got to see someone, they were very friendly and helpful.
Cons: Apart from when we arrived. We couldn’t find a soul to ask any thing. We had arranged dinner at 7pm and no one turned up until 7-25. What was worse, we wanted to get some more things out of our car. But we couldn’t as we were locked in and no one to contact. The bedroom didn’t even have a glass or plastic beaker, the towels although clean looked like they were previously used to wash the floor. Everywhere in the corridors it was in darkness and you had to find little switches to press for light, which didn’t last more than three minutes. So for us as elderly (81 and75) it was very difficult.
Cons: Reasonably clean stains on bedding no soap, no coffee making facility, no plug for sink. A bed no more. I suppose you get what you pay for.
Pros: We arrived over 4 hours late due to traffic. When we arrived the owner was waiting for us and nothing was too much trouble for him. We had booked an evening meal and he insisted that we still eat even though the restaurant was closed.
Pros: It was a ideal stop over near Madrid which we wanted to avoid. The staff were extra helpful and we had a delicious meal at a very reasonable price. I highly recommend the hotel and restaurant as an inexpensive place to stay.

Cons: Very Basic bed.
Pros: Friendliness and very helpful
Cons: Breakfast only started after 10am

Cons: The room was small, the bed uncomfortable, the sheets had holes, the room smelled like mold.
Pros: Clean towel every day, bed made, bins emptied etc.
Cons: At the time (February) very difficult to get a cooked evening meal. Quite rural and isolated, so probably not much demand. This is more to do with the location than the hostel though.
Cons: Staff was unhelpful, bed was too hard and no Wi-Fi signal in our room. The staff was unwilling to provide the Wi-Fi password of the restaurant ... that we could receive in our room
Pros: Everything Is PERFECT!
