Pros: Piera and Riccardo were accommodating in every need. Courteous, very helpful with map directions, and knowledgeable of the area's history. We highly recommend and definitely will use again.
Pros: Comfortable stay, very helpful hists
Pros: We loved our stay at B&B Costalta, Piera and Riccardo were great hosts and went out of their way to make our stay comfortable and enjoyable. We particularly liked the breakfast laid out every morning with excellent choice, the mountain views and the clean and spacious rooms. We were attending a wedding in Compiano and worried about transport to and from the castle as the b&b is a little remote, however Piera and Riccardo helped us source a taxi which was extremely helpful. Nothing is too far by car. We would highly recommend B&B Costalta.
Pros: Very comfortable, lovely clean room. Breakfast good, and hosts welcoming
Pros: We enjoyed yurt, the views, and the meals.
Pros: Beautiful location and accomodation- the Yurt was lovely and the bathrooms super clean- you get your own in an out building that you can only access with a key. Great for friends, families and couples, with a truly lovely homely feel and Diego (the host) was amazing with helping us get around Borgo and anything we needed- we went to a wedding and the journey up and down to this place is best suited for a car which is a decent size (ours was a smart!) and essentially gave us a free lift which we really appreciated. Also left a bracelet by accident and it's being posted out- which again is super appreciated!
Pros: Fantastic location
Cons: The street to arrive is not perfect
Pros: Wonderfull stay. Great location, kids love the tents. Plenty of ' activities' for the children (small pool, animals, ping pong ie table tennis, big fire in the evenings,...). We paid extra for meals on the evening and food was great and more than enough. Breakfast was not huge but more than sufficient and all home made (marmelade, Blackberry tart,...).
With a stay at Castello di Compiano in Compiano, you'll be 27 mi (43.4 km) from Castello di Piagnaro and 28.4 mi (45.7 km) from Mount Moria Provincial Park. The front desk is staffed during limited hours.
Pros: Imagine you are in a fairytale. You won't find WiFi in rooms, breakfast is quite poor. But you will definitely enjoy accommodation in this castle. You can also enjoy private romantic room for additional cost. Rooms are clean and convenient, personnel is very friendly.
Pros: The location and the stunning views of the beautiful surrounding countryside.
Cons: Being told on arrival that the bar and restaurant was closed and only open at the weekend. Poor breakfast and service
Cons: Parking and access to the hotel is not for those with walking or climbing disability.
Pros: Wonderful place! Amazing views and atmosphere!!! I’m in love with this place!
Pros: Out of the way unique place in a cool little village

Our spacious and Pet-Bike-EcoFriendly R&B, called "Tolasudolsa" (in dialect parmesan: take it easy), is located at 830 meters above sea level on the Parma Apennine. We're immersed in nature, far from everything. The experience and the atmosphere will be very familiar with the pleasure of falling asleep in the evening, and waking up in the morning with the sounds of the forest, wild animals and the mountains. The traditional cuisine is homemade, not local, genuine and we try to satisfy a type of tourism that is more respectful of the environment, economy and community, especially local (eco-cuisine, anti-waste, KM 0, self-production, etc.). It has a main entrance but divided to enter the ground floor, where live Valeria & Giorgio the owners, and the R&B located on the first floor. Here are the 3 simples, spacious and comfortable bedrooms, a large room for breakfast and lunches and extra meals and 2 shared bathrooms. Inside and outside of the house is no-smoking areaa. With Valeria & Giorgio live four beautiful cats that are free to move even outside so the presence of other pets must be agreed at the time of booking. WHAT TO DO - The area and the R&B are easily accessible from the main cities of the north Italy and the location is ideal for day trips to Lunigiana in Tuscany, to Cinqueterre, Sestri Levante and/or Chiavari all in Liguria for a day at the beach) to Parma and Bologna or to the castles in the area. It is ideal also for a day at the beach even in winter, in Parma and Bologna or to visit the Castles and Villages of the area. You can also practice sports like: MOUNTAIN BIKE ENDURO MOTORBIKE, TREKKING, TRAILRUNNING, HORSERIDING, SNOWSHOES, SLEEDOG, NORDIC SKIING AND CROSS COUNTRY SKIING. The area is renowned for the IGP porcini mushroom of Borgo Val di Taro, for the truffle of Valceno and for the delicious mountain gastronomy, with dishes that are influenced by the Parmesan, Ligurian and Tuscan. NEARBY - The WWF Oasis of the Ghirardi, which is 5Km away from Tolasudolsa, is spread over 600 hectares of meadows, woods and streams. It is the home of several species of animals, plants and mushrooms; it preserves rare habitats, enchanting landscapes and it changes continuously as the seasons pass. Every day the nature reserve can be visited freely by foot by accessing from Costa dei Rossi (Albareto) or Porcigatone (Borgotaro). Featured amenities include luggage storage and laundry facilities. Guests may use a roundtrip airport shuttle for a surcharge, and free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: Peaceful, quiet, clean, super friendly staff, good food at the restaurant. Perfect for village tourism.
Cons: The only con is that it is a few kilometers away from the closest store, and it is a climb. The bar-restaurant compensates somewhat.
Featuring a restaurant, bar and terrace, Albergo Roma is a renovated 1920s' building in Borgo Val di Taro. It offers free Wi-Fi and a sweet breakfast daily, with savoury options available upon request. Air-conditioned and en suite, rooms at the Roma hotel come with classic-style décor, tiled floors and neutral colours. Each private bathroom includes free toiletries and a hairdryer. The hotel is close to all services. A bus stopping right in front of it offers direct service to the local hospital and train station.
Pros: In centre of town, not too difficult to find. Parking a little limited but ok for me. An old style late C19th hotel part refreshed. Bathroom large and newly refitted. Staff 'simpatico'. Quite a long drive along forested valley from autostrada. Good breakfast if you like cakes and Italian sweet croissants. Only an overnight stay so can not really comment on the place in context other than to say, like many other such places in Italy, it gives the impression of faded glory, of a hotel and resort that fell out of fashion a century past.
Cons: The interior designer of the seemingly recent refurbishment seems to have cut their teeth on high security institutions. The stairs and corridors —grey and more grey, heavy oversized fire doors— leading to the rooms in particular. Room itself better but still a rather stark style. Dining room rather sad and faded, mainly because, in early September, I appear to be the only guest: fill it with gregarious Italians and I am sure the rather empty after-the-ball feel would disperse. I have been making the long journey from Calais to Umbria and back for 25 years, the days when I could do 500miles from Switzerland in one day are over. My search for a really satisfactory overnight stop between Parma and Spezia continues.
Pros: Really nice hotel, absolutely great location, fresh, clean rooms, very friendly staff and good breakfast. Excellent location in a very beautiful little mountain village.
Pros: Very good hotel. Excellent experience
Pros: The location at the head of the Main Street was perfect
Pros: Top location, lovely staff and lovely accommodation, have and will be back in the near future.

Pros: It’s a beautiful building, with huge beautiful rooms. Incredibly comfy beds. It has a lift and a pool and beautiful views as far as the eye can see. The lovely hosts couldn’t do enough for us.
Cons: Nothing, or was perfect, although might need to hire a car to get to town and other places.
Best rooms in Albareto
Cons: The staff was quite rude. There is one lady who manages everything and she was pushing pre fix menu but I am vegetarian and pregnant and she didn't understand I couldn't have certain things. In the end we didn't do prefix and yet overpaid more than prefix costs - 40 Euros. She wouldn't let us make spa appointment the day we arrived since we didn't make a reservation in advance but no one was at the spa. I can keep going but generally it's the people that make your experience and she definitely made it bad.
