10.0 Excellent
Pros: Fabulous place in the middle of one of the most beautiful parts of Spain. 15 mins from San Jose and it's amazing beaches and just 5-10 mins from other smaller coves and beaches. Beautiful rooms all with slightly different layouts, super comfy beds and private terraces. The new pool is a wonderful addition as are the various terraces on the property to get some late evening sun. We came for the food and it did not disappoint. This is more of a restaurant with rooms than a full service hotel, but better for it as there is a very relaxed atmosphere with only a handful of rooms and personal service. It's set just outside the charming village of Rodaquilar which has some great tapas bars. You'll never forget the view coming in or out of the valley!
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Really good and sufficient just what we wanted made welcome
8.3 Excellent
Pros: very kind and helpful staff. they were really charming. The swimming pool is beautiful and the hotel and location very quiet. Really enjoyable for a weekend getaway
Cons: The matras of the bed was not of good quality. breakfast could be with a bit more choice (e.g. there was no youghurt), although they did provide with fresh and different fruit every morning which was really nice.
7.5 Good
Pros: Clean room Friendly staff
Cons: Facilities only open at certain times no bar so little atmosphere but we put this down to the time of year. We had the best suite and it was comfortable but noisy when the restaurant was in use late at night even though we had triple glazing. Had to complain at least twice. Lots of flies everywhere made it difficult to sit outside.
5.8 Okay
Pros: Nearby to some good beaches/scenery (but then so is any other hotel in that area....)
Cons: The rooms have thin walls.. and hence we could hear the noise (television or loud talking or kids playing) from the adjacent rooms late into the night. considering the location, I was expecting absolutely no noise - but well... We moved some of the furniture in the room (table and chairs) in the evening - this was set back to the original setting everyday by the cleaning staff (??) - which was very strange!! While there was nothing in particular to complain about the inclusive breakfast, I've had better breakfasts in cheaper hotels!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Ana and Alfredo made us both feel very welcome and are clearly doing an amazing job of running this hotel. The restaurant is fabulous and the rooms are very clean and comfortable. We will remember our stay at this hotel and hope to return some day!!
Cons: Nothing

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Hosts were lovely. Lots of little extras that we haven’t had elsewhere
Cons: Perhaps not ideal to get to on a motorbike as approach road is not made up but would be no problem in a car
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful quiet location, nice room which kept cool in the midday sun, great shower, awesome breakfast, Martin and Annika told us lots about the area so we could plan great excursions, plentiful parking with shade, potable water in the room, close to multiple towns for food and beaches, convenient for the airport and the cities of Almeria and Granada, cute dogs, I loved sitting in the hammock on a hot afternoon
Cons: Nothing!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very relaxed and quiet environment. And so is the owner of this beautiful place.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: This is an ideal place if you want a City-life escape. The hosts were kind, friendly and very welcoming. Room was small, but very cozy and cute, with comfortable bed and nice shower. The place is quiet and calm, in the middle of the nature with mountains sorrounding you. The Breakfast was delicious and with loads of options.
Cons: I know it is not the hosts fault on this matter, but the dirt road to the Cortijo is not great.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: A very nice place to stay. Quiet and peaceful, close to the natural park Cabo de Gata. The breakfast is delicious, the hosts, Martin and Annika, are very welcoming. I'd certainly would be glad to come back.
Cons: You'll need a car to get there.
Barceló Cabo de Gata - Almería - Building
3
8.8 Excellent (3,332 reviews)
Overview Reviews
The Barceló Cabo de Gata hotel enjoys a privileged location right opposite the Mediterranean, and just a 10-minute drive to Almería Airport. Its direct access to Cabo de Gata Natural Park makes it an unparalleled destination for lovers of the beach, sunshine and nature.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Modern hotel with clean rooms and great breskfast
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The beach. It was full of litter the first day. The next day the litter was totally cleared.
Cons: The lunch and dinner menu.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Very comfortable bed
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Right near beach with no people on It, with easy access to Cabo de Gata reserve; great facilities, good design sense, 4 pools, quite good food for all inclusive format. Staff were friendly. Close to Almeria town. My 12 year old loved everything about it.
Cons: Nothing to complain about. It was late in season so hotel not as full, and not all pools were open (you could use them to swim but Lounge chairs were restricted to two pools most days).
6.3 Good
Pros: The bed was comfortable and the hotel quiet .Its quite close to the sea
Cons: The location is bad, a bit like the"Mari Celeste"! 2 kilometres to the nearest coffee shop and 15 kilometres from Almeria. Not so good for older people. Only one pool out of 4 was open and that was for the children. We were told by a lifeguard to move from the loungers,( we were only reading!) near one of the closed off pools. He didn't know why we couldn't sit there and neither did the reception staff!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The location is great, loved the food and the staff. Comfortable beds!! Excellent sized rooms.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: We really enjoyed the food (we booked half course). had 2x dinner, 1x lunch and 3xbreakfast. Everything was delicious and rich in variety. The staff was very friendly. At the end of October it was quite relaxed. I probably wouldn't come here at peak season.

NH Ciudad de Almeria - Almería - Building
4
8.7 Excellent (4,596 reviews)
Overview Reviews
The NH Ciudad de Almería hotel is set in the heart of the city and near all of the top attractions. You will be a short walk away from the Gothic-style Cathedral, 10th-century Alcazaba fortress, as well as the Contemporary Art and Archaeological museums. A variety of shops, restaurants, and bars are also nearby and the beach is just a short stroll away. In 30 minutes, you can drive to the Cabo de Gata Natural Park, with its beautiful wild beaches. NH Ciudad de Almería has 138 contemporary rooms that feature a neutral décor with purple accents. All come with complimentary Wi-Fi. Enjoy our signature breakfast which offers a variety of foods including cold cuts, cheeses, and pastries as well as local favorites. These are accompanied by freshly brewed coffee and tea, as well as fruit juices. Our restaurant serves up great local and national dishes, using only the freshest premium ingredients. Alternatively, you can unwind at the bar and try our tapas with a local wine or cocktail. The hotel also has a terrace on the 5th floor, which offers lovely views of Almería. For functions and events, we have 15 rooms for up to 300 people and our staff will be happy to organize coffee breaks, catering, and tech support.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The hotel was very clean, the shower was excellent and staff were mostly friendly and all were efficient. The bar menu was excellent and food was good value. The outdoor roof terrace was lovely - if a little windy on the day we were there!
Cons: The room was very noisy - from outside on the street and inside - you could hear other people in neighbouring rooms using the haridryer, toilet etc.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Right accross the road from the bus and train station, 10 mins walk to the beach, 15 to the old town. Very comfortable big room. Staff were very friendly and helpful.
Cons: Prices for mini bar in room high, also wouldbe nice gesture to give complimentary bottle of water in room when check in, other hotels only 2 star do.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Location very good near bus and trainstation. Very good (although also very expensive) breakfast. It's convenient that you can use the sink separate from the toilet/shower.
Cons: No electrical socket next to my side of the bed. Horrible cover music in the breakfast room.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Good clean hotel in a good location and very helpful English speaking receptionist
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Located directly opposite the Bus/Train Station which suited us for an overnight stay. Good for business travel, perhaps, but quite a step away from the main tourist attractions and restaurants. A wide choice for breakfast, we found the dining menu rather limited but the food and service were good.
Cons: As with many other Spanish hotels, a lack of coffee making facilities in the room
9.6 Excellent
Pros: As always, very friendly and capable NH staff. The breakfast buffet was (as always) excellent!
Overview Reviews
With a stay at Hotel de Naturaleza Rodalquilar Spa Cabo de Gata in Nijar, you'll be steps from Cabo de Gata-Níjar Natural Park and a 2-minute drive from La Casa de los Volcanes Ecomuseum. Featured amenities include a 24-hour front desk, multilingual staff, and luggage storage. Guests may use a roundtrip airport shuttle for a surcharge, and free self parking is available onsite.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The rooms are lovely, staff attentive. Great pool.
Cons: My only complaint really is, pets are allowed but.. they are only allowed on the terrace outside the dining room, l understand they're not allowed in the dining room, the problem is dogs aren't allowed to pass through the dining room and there is no access to the terrace, so we had to lift out 17kgs Waterdog over a rather high wall. Another failing is the menu, no vegan option and surprisingly no vegetarian option either, having said that the kitchen made me a delicious salad.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: location staff quirky
Cons: spa was not working fully otherwise loved hotel
3.0 Mediocre
Pros: The pool was nice
Cons: The room was dated in decor and dark Our room was next to the pool public toilets which was a bit off putting. The Food was average. The staff were not very friendly, The cost was high and therefore my expectations were too - felt let down as stayed in much better hotels in Spain,
8.3 Excellent
Pros: One You could use the pool and some sports equipment in the gym. The hotel itself is located nerby Rodalquilar, where you can enjoy nature.
Cons: The Rooms are a bit noisy (so you can her even the mobile calls in the room nearby)
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Everything. Have stayed before, rooms are comfortable, peaceful location, staff and food are fantastic!
Cons: Nothing
6.3 Good
Pros: The staff and the food were both excellent. The room was very clean.
Cons: Corner bath inside the bedroom, no shower except the attachment by the taps, as there was nothing around the bath, the floor and the chair got very wet. Nylon faux velvet type bed cover, iron frame four poster bed which the mattress didn’t fit. Unfortunately could hear everything on the rooms either side. One side we had a dog crying because it had been left alone, the other side was a very lively toddler. It took us ages to find the property which is no where near Cabo del Gata, our sat nav couldn’t find it, three different Spanish people didn’t know where it was and the instructions weren’t good enough. We rang the hotel but were told we should just give our taxi driver their address - not helpful we were driving! We were literally on the point of giving up when we spotted a sign. We spent a good hour searching for this place.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Nice and quiet, lovely location.
Cons: Breakfast items e.g. eggs and bacon were cold.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Clean, comfortable room, and great to have use of a nice clean pool and loungers. Dinner and breakfast very good.

Featured amenities include a business center, express check-in, and complimentary newspapers in the lobby. Self parking (subject to charges) is available onsite.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Even though the rooftop pool was out of action the staff provided us with a complimentary bottle of Cava for our 'inconvenience' which was a very nice touch
Cons: The coffee machine at breakfast wasnt making coffees that hot enough to enjoy.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The room was lovely - junior suite. nice bathroom was huge, views of the Alcazaba from the Juliet balcony....rooftop pool area lovely, breakfast with a view! used the ancient baths and had a massage AMAZING!! we were the only ones in there so it was even better - use the parking lot Algea Tris on plaza del Monte there is a deal with the hotel sat nav also took us straight there!
Cons: Literally silly things like no milk or coffee with the drink making facilities in the room, disappointed with no bar but vending machine on rooftop 5€ for a bottle of Estella though! Breakfast waitress a little erratic! Even though we were the only ones up there!
9.6 Excellent
Pros: THe place the Hotel, and everything!
Cons: x
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Very Modern very clean great pool deck on the 3rd floor
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Spa area really lovely.
6.0 Good
Pros: Location ok
Cons: Belfast sink in the middle of bedroom nearest mirror 1.5 metres away impossible to wet shave. The only flat surfaces did not have a mirror so was unusable. The bed when we arrived where not in the correct position and we had to move back to fit the space. Only one bedside lamp which made you had to have taken a portable light with you. The shelve holding bath towels fell off the wall when towel was pulled off to be used. When mentioned to staff they said that was OK did not ask if it had it fell on you. The room description said coffee and tea plus kettle where they hid them I do not KNOW. Outside pool was approx 15m x 1.2m not exactly a pool more of a bath.
7.1 Good
Pros: Great location. Nice baths and spa.
Cons: The bathroom layout was impractical and strange; the sink stood out in the middle of the room. AC didn't work, we had to leave the window open at night to the noisy street. Very slow internet, if at all. We tried the rooftop bar Saturday evening and there was a workman drilling and a machine to get drinks . No corkscrew to open the bottles even if we wanted to.

Pros: Pieceful and quiet. Pleasant climate in cozy rooms. Great views of mountains and desert-like landscape plus easy access to nearby village and beach
4.2 Okay
Pros: I liked the location and the setting. Beautiful views and in the heart of Cabo de Gata. The village was walking distance from the property and the room was light and spacious for one person
Cons: Unfortunately storms hit the area two days before the end of the holiday and although Rodalquilar was not badly affected, electricity was on and off in my room for the last two day of the holiday and the water filtered through into the bathroom forming a paddle on the floor.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful setting within desert gardens receding into the volcanic landscape of the natural park with interesting plants, vistas and scents all around. An incredibly relaxing place to be and get away from the modern world. Starting every day with a good breakfast out on the terrace and finishing under the stars with only the sound of crickets. What more could you want?
Cons: Nothing really
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Having been before we were impressed with the improvements made with the kitchen added to the room. It is set in a beautiful location with good service and a large pool.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Lovely surroundings and nice beaches and a village with lots of restaurants nearby. Breakfast was delicious and lots of choice and the rooms were very nice. We look forward to staying there again sometime.
Cons: Slow WiFi.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The little village of Rodalquilar is wonderfully quaint, and the guesthouse is located just outside it. The views are beautiful, it's quiet and peaceful, the swimming pool awesome. The rooms were simple but comfortable.
Cons: There are a lot of flies in the area, and since breakfast is only served outside (the owner does not allow for guests to take breakfast in their rooms), it's always disturbed by dozens and dozens of flies!
8.3 Excellent
Pros: peaceful, fantastic location beautiful terrace and excellent breakfast charming little houses for the rooms very long pool, perfect to swim
Cons: wc broken little refreshment needed but this is also what makes the place charming
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Great Location, great surroundings, good breakfast and pet friendly :)

7.0 Good
Pros: Location, cleanliness, price, air conditioning.
Cons: Breakfast with limited choice, hair dryer needs to be borrowed from reception, no toilet brush, dangerous door stoppers (a screw).
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Great location a few minutes walk from all the sights, the cathedral the civil war tunnels etc. Located on a quiet street off Paseo Almería. Large comfortable warm room with large bathroom overall very comfortable.
Cons: There were a lot of plumbing noises from the rooms above and to each side. Woke me up a couple of times.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Clean big room. Shower good. Excellent location. Excellent value for money.
Cons: Parking would have been cheaper (11Euros) at the hotel than where we parked in an underground car park (18euros) but we could not park anywhere to sort out the parking or see or know where you had to enter the rear of the hotel garage.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Staff were very helpful. Great location, lots of tapas bars around.
Cons: Overall our visit was very good. The room was small, it would be hard to sleep in it in the summer. I would advise getting new pillows.
8.8 Excellent
Cons: Breakfest was modesty.
1.0 Poor
Pros: Worse experience ever! I spent only one night and had to cancel the rest of the booking, because of the terrible rooms.
Cons: I found cockroaches inside the room. I could hear the WC from to top room very clearly like they were doing their needs just next to me, it was honestly disgusting experience, the staff did not change me saying that the hotel was full, next day they gave another room wich it was smelling and again refuse to gave another option as they were fully booked. Therefore I check out and move to another hotel.
5.8 Okay
Pros: Clean and quiet rooms
Cons: We were not informed how hard it will be to park in the hotel's parking and how hard it will be to find it. When we have reserved the parking space (paid) beforehand, but we only heard about issues with getting there on the day of us arriving in the city. The receptionist was unable to give us exact directions. This resulted in more than an hour of circling through narrow streets.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Excellent location, very clean, breakfast was very, very good. Staff were very friendly. I would stay here again.
Cons: Very central location so be prepared for noise at night due to the proximity to the street. Maybe ask for a room at the back of hotel if you are a light sleeper. Luckily this is not a problem for me.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Lovely hotel in a great location, large suites, bathrobes and toiletries supplied. We were presented with a welcoming bottle of fizz and box of chocolates. The breakfast was very good as was the food in the restaurant, all food was cooked to order.
Cons: We were given the wrong bill when we ate in the restaurant which was over 30 euros more than our bill.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: This Hotel is beautiful! We arrived to champagne and chocolates. The bed was huge and the view over the Cathedral and square was unsurpassed
Cons: We hadn’t considered that the Cathedral would be ringing bells from 8am until midnight. I think tourism to this town is quite new, most of the staff spoke very little English which was a bit tricky in the restaurant

Avenida Hotel Almería - Almería - Building

8.6 Excellent (1,204 reviews)
Overview Reviews
When you stay at Avenida Hotel Almería in Almeria, you'll be in the business district, within a 15-minute walk of Almeria Archaelogical Museum and Almeria Center Art Museum. Featured amenities include complimentary newspapers in the lobby, dry cleaning/laundry services, and a 24-hour front desk. Self parking (subject to charges) is available onsite.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The room is clean, it doesn't look cheap. I had no issue with the Hotel nor at the checkin nor at the checkout. The people who work at this hotel are very nice. I liked the dominos pizza which was open till almost midnight and reachable by feet in 1 minute. There is a pharmacy that you can reach by feet which is open 24/7. An hospital with emergency also 24/7. Alcampo (said Auchan in France) hypermarket with everything you need that is in a shopping mall where you can find (fast) food restaurants. Lidl between the hotel and the main beach. There is another shopping mall that you can go to by car, there you have a burger king, japanese restaurant with good ramens, thai restaurants, pizzas, taco bell .... The location is perfect if you rent a car. I liked that they had a tea kettle to lend. There is probably much more things that I forgot. I would highly recommand to anyone who already plan to rent a car. (Avoid Goldcar agency)
Cons: If you plan to reach beaches by feet, the location is not convenient. It's a bit far. I rented a car at Malaga airport, hence i don't know if there is a bus station nearby. The wardrobe sliding doors are too noisy if you don't close themcarefully, I was woken up maybe 3-4 times during my 14 days stay, but I was able to fall bask asleep.
5.4 Okay
Pros: Friendly staff. Confortable bed and quit a big room for being a doubble room. Free parking along the street just below the hotel,
Cons: The facility is worn down. Breakfast is OK but not more. There are lights in the corridors that are supposed to turn on by movement but they don't work properly. So if you wanna find your way from your room to the elevator at night be sure to bring a flash light. The cleaning staff was really nice and fixed up the room every day, but don't look under the bed cuz it's filled with dust. The mini fridge in my room didn't work, it was over heated. Their answer to the problem was to pull out the fridge a bit from the cupboard and leaving the cupboard door open to get more ventilation. I travel a lot and I expect considerably more than this from a 4 star hotel.
7.5 Good
Pros: Handy for the local bus service.
7.5 Good
Pros: Modern & comfortable. Light & airy. Rooms cleaned everyday.
Cons: Lighting in corridors on sensors. Had to jump around and wave for some of them to come on. Bet reception had a laugh watching guests do this
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Open friendly staff, clean big room, WiFi.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: nice rooms
Cons: the breakfast

7.5 Good
Pros: The overall experience was good, most staff were friendly and the cleanliness of the place was really good, the breakfast was great with plenty of options available and the location was excellent for restaurants and bars.
Cons: Booked the steam room for me and my partner and it was not working, reported it to reception but nothing was done, I felt that a lack of care was being presented, I work in the hotel industry and was a bit bemused regarding the response.

Cons: Price of breakfast
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Really, everything was delightful -- facilities, staff, location ... well done!
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Excellent location near the main shops,restaurants/tapas bars and historic sites.Walking distance. We stayed in one of the junior suites, which was very spacious and comfortable.Especially the beds. Our room was down the side of the hotel and was quiet. Good powerful shower. Staff very helpful and spoke English. Public underground car park a street away.
Cons: Paying 11 euros a day for the car park.Should be free for hotel guests. Hotels own restaurant/tapas bar next door served and charged us for a large calamari we did not order. We asked for a tapas calamari and they served us a large special complete one.Be very careful what you ask for.We made it quite clear to them what our thoughts were concerning this ! Parts of the breakfast were not good.Cold bacon, sausage and scrambled eggs in liquid from the serving trays both mornings.Rest on offer was very good. No glutton free food on offer at breakfast, although one of the staff did very kindly go out and get my wife some glutton free bread.

Pros: Car parking adjacent and the staff park the car for you.
Cons: The scrambled egg at breakfast was terrible. The rest of it was good, fresh and plenty of choice.we really enjoyed our short stat
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Location/roof top pool/bfast although smart coffee machines made only the strongest coffee Chic open plan rooms/fab showers
Cons: The lack of privacy for the toilet which was only behind double doors that did not close efficiently
2.0 Mediocre
Pros: The room was OK and the hotel was central but we left a day early as the street outside our room was very noisy.
Cons: The breakfast was awful. They put bacon and eggs in an UNHEATED tray so cold bacon and eggs....disgusting. People walking around with empty plates looking for something appetising to eat. Lack of plates too! My evening meal in the restaurant the night we arrived was inedible and my wife was ill in the toilet after eating salmon.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Amazing breakfast and great location. Nice hotel with modern feel.
Cons: Closure of pool when its 25 degrees outside and it wasn’t advised before we booked was annoying. Wouldnt have booked had we known. 5e charge for extra hangers! No tea or coffee making facilities. A bit noisy at night time. Would be good if front desk staff spoke a bit more English

Internet was having many problems and it was on and off constantly.

Pros: The hotel was in a perfect location right beside a beautiful long sandy beach. It was clean but in need of a major revamp the food really let the hotel down it was practically inedible and the staff were rather surly and unfriendly. However we got an excellent deal and our room directly overlooked an amazing beach
Cons: The staff were rather unfriendly - I was told I couldn’t take a small bag into breakfast and had to leave it at reception - the food was pretty poor quality and the dining room tired and weary looking. It’s a pity as everything is in place to make it a fabulous hotel.
