Very relaxing place, not much going on. You can really get away from it all -perfect! Restaurant food/ breakfast/dinner just ok, should be better. Food ordered in the bar/ room service cold, microwaved (burger/pizza), embarrassing to eat or complain!
Staff very friendly..food reasonable...location peaceful.as it was a special birthday celebration the hotel send a bottle of cava to the room which was a very nice gesture. The room was disappointing and nowhere near as nice as portrayed in the photos..it is in need of updating as the decor and furniture are shabby.the location is a good distance from any other bars etc and the price of drinks in this hotel is ridiculous..one bottle of water 3.50 euros.
Good food , very good vlue for money
Beautiful hotel, lovely food. Hydrotherapy pool unsuitable for 9 year old and 5 year old. No table tennis balls, had to buy our own. Paddle tennis cost 6 euros per shot. No bicycles suitable for 5 year old.
A confort hotel with a nice room. Thisis a hotel for families with small children. It's noisy and in my opinion the food and services is of a 3 star hotel. Watchout for your towels at the pool ad they tend to get stolen due to the price the hotel charge for them. Air conditioner at room didn't work between 12am and 8am and the hotel staff told me it was normal due to the fact that at this time all rooms had their ac on! Unbelievable!!
good quality for the price and a great breakfast Pool was a little dirty and for the business user with an early flight a little noisy at night
Situated in a newly created village, this hotel offers plenty of space for its guests. The rooms are large, luxury and clean; the staff is friendly and always tries to listen to you. The restaurant is open from 8:00 until 10:30h for breakfast, and from 20:00 until 22:30h foor dinner. The garden is large, there are no less than 4 swimming pools. The hotel is only separated by a park from the beach. Additional services (Spa!) are available. Furthermore the hotel is ideally situated for trips to the varied countryside. There is plenty of space to park your car. If you are with a rental-car, you will be happy. If you can't make it at 20:00h, chances are your dinner will not be so good. The food is served buffet-style, sometimes cooked an hour ago and therefore old, dry or simply not warm. In other words, the staff at the restaurant needs better timing and insight in guests' needs. Nobody used the underground garage to park his car - it is way overpriced.
The resort was beautiful and the 3 swimming pools were fantastic. Great kids activities with staff who were lots of fun. The food was very good too. The guest rooms were large with balconies overlooking the pools and beach. We enjoyed the spa as well. We were disappointed with the beach area so stayed at the pools the whole time. Unfortunately, our son got bed bugs from sleeping on the pull-out sofa bed. The hotel immediately changed our room.
good location with gate right onto the promenade/beach. We walked out of the gate the following morning and followed the coast into the natural park. food was dull and hotel could have been anywhere in the world. Fine if you just want the all inclusive package holiday experience. Not much of a beach though.
friendliness and helpfulness of staff. clean, well planned and eco friendly
The service was excellent, the location was great (free street parking) and breakfast timetable was extensive so we could sleep in. Breakfast quality was fantastic. I recommend the spa facilities.
This is a ultra-modern hotel with very friendly staff and lots of open spaces. It is only 10 minutes walk to the centre of the beattiful Las Negros Villages which has a fantastic setting and a few good bars and seafood restaurants. It is an idylic place to visit and the hotel is in a convenient but quiet location. The hotel is almost impossible to find because it is not in the centre with the other hotels and there are no signs anywhere and no obvious street names. We had to ask 3 times. On entering Las Negros you come to a large roundabout. Take the 1st exit, up a slight hill and the hotel is 300m on the right at the north end of the village.
Great location. Very nice staff. Wonderful room view. Hard to find as no signs in town.
The hotel is wonderfully situated, right on the beach and is quiet. The common parts are fine. The room was spacious. The fittings in the bathroom were worn out especially the seals on the shower screen which were rusty. The shower head had been replaced badly could not be used in its wall holder at all. The terrace was shared with 5 other rooms(and that was not mentioned at all on the website) and one of the token 'screens' used to separate the terrace area in front of each room (only 1 metre wide) was missing on one side. As it is the end of the season half the wine list wasn't available. The room was too hot mostly due to the fridge overheating in its casing.Unless the bathrooms are revamped, I cannot see how it can continue to be a 4 star.
We're a couple in 30's that stayed for 6 nights. The place is amazing with beautiful views over the med. Great location a short walk to the centre but far enough away from what little noise there is from the bars, restaurants, etc. Although always friendly and helpful when found, a severe lack of staff and the fact that a part from at breakfast there was literally only one person on duty at any one time for a hotel with 80 people capacity (that was full on a coupe of nights during our stay). No staff available after 23:00 'til morning. So could not get a drink and end a romantic evening out on the terrace at night at the hotel (on the practically private beach), -what i'd normally expect from any self- respecting 4 star place.
Great position overlooking the beach and bay. Boutique type of place ,very different from package hotels and in a pleasant small town A/C not working and food in restaurant not really as good as expected
Like last time we were here one year ago, we loved everything about the place, especially the location. I recommend that you pay the extra money to have a seaview balcony. It doesn't get any better. It is a beautiful, little gem of a hotel. Gracias!
Small hotel with a nice view. However, for the rest nothing spectacular. Overpriced
It was nice and good no
Room was large and bright. Terrace overlooking the beach was wonderful.
Beautiful views, great location. Small cozy property but completely lovely. Staff efficient but not overly friendly
We had a balcony overlooking the sea. It was great. The staff was very helpful, the food was great, especially the breakfasts, and all in all we found the hotel to be very charming and luxurious. Even though the booking.com said no parking, we found a parking right in front of the hotel. Very nice and easy. We loved it and hope to come back. Nothing was wrong. However we stayed there a little off-season, and I think the whole place can be more crowded during the high seasons because the village itself was also very nice.
Beautiful location overlooking the Mediterranean on a lovely beach. Great views everywhere, including dining room and common areas. Spacious rooms, clean and well-appointed. Marble floors throughout. Ceramic and glass artwork accents. Very good breakfast buffet. Two items, very minor: (1) The staff, while compentent and cheerful, seemed spread a bit thin. The man at reception was also serving breakfast coffee, which made checkouts a bit of a scramble for him. No staff available from 11:00 pm to 7:00 am. (2) The terraced rooms actually share one large common terrace, divided by ropes.
The surrounding scenery is spectacular. Hotel is nicely and comfortably furnished in minimilist style. The sunrise on the sea is not to be missed. Very romantic and 'get away from it all' place. Our room was littered with dead and alive bugs that were the size of a cent. As the receptionist did not speak any English we just binned them and gone on with it! Pool not in use even though it was ideal weather for a swim. Do not think hotel is worthy of 4 stars.
The hotel is in a quiet and secluded area, and it was very peaceful there. I loved it!
Beautiful views of the surrounding countryside, very simple but stylist room and bathroom, short drive away from some lovely beaches, quiet and untouristy unlike many areas of spain. Was not informed that the advertised hotel pool was actually closed and is only open for a few months in the summer, hotel staff speak very little english, when paying at the end of the holiday the card machine would not accept any of our cards so had to drive to San Jose to get money out in order to pay, hotel in general a bit overpriced.
It is so remote if you want peace and quite. Great views all around you. Good food and very nice rooms. the directions to the hotel wre not very good at all. try google maps or tom tom and you end up 50 km away like we were. they need to make a big point that they are near san jose not almeria. no hard standing for motor cycles to park just soft gravel like the very long drive way so not very bike friendly.resturant staff spoke no english and no english menus. so bad in fact could not even understand 'beer' Take the trouble to find it though and you will be rewarded with fantastic views.
The rooms are nice, spacious and decorated with taste. The bed is very comfortable. The staff is not very friendly.
excelent location in the middle of nature. Beautifull vews from your room and the sea at 15 min. walking. Silence !!!!!
The location of the hotel is great for peace, relaxation, hiking...in the middle of the country, but close to the beach with beautiful views. We found some big bugs in our room. The walls were very thin and we could clearly hear the guests in the next room.
The hotel is very nice and the view is amazing. On't forget to book the beach view !!
It was very comfortable, clean and friendly place. For this amount of money it was really-really good....Staff was also very nice and helpful. No complain.
beautiful terrace looking out over the town. small fridge in the room. great breakfast. beautiful pool no elevator, and the room was up five flights of stairs
Staff was verry kind, lovely room, excellent location
Very nice hotel. Clean rooms with large balcony with view on the bay. Quiet spot but within minutes walk from village centre and beach. Recommended!
position of hotel perfect lovely views over town st jose and surrounding area friendly helpful staff
Comfortable room with good town/sea view from balcony. . Friendly staff and very good breakfast. Stayed early March so very quiet. The a/c (on heating) was also very useful as unseasonably cool/damp weather. Great spring flowers in the National Park after the winter rains Room a little spartan.
Nice location in the middle of a very cozy town, next to a good beach. The right place to stay for wlks in the Cabo de Gata National Park
General position. San jose is absolutely beautiful. Having to wait until 8.30 before breakfast started. I had to miss breakfast on some occasions due to business meetings.
The location was ecellent, ande each room has air conditioning The breakfast was poor
The attitude of the staff - although little or no English spoken all were very friendly and helpful. The food was delicious, the rooms comfortable and well equipped except for a lack of tea/coffee facilities in the room. All told a very good experience which will be repeated as soon as possible.
it was right on the beach and good for position for scuba divers.breakfast very continental no
We just relaxed and enjoyed. No we liked everything.
Tranquil setting. A very relaxing break. it was immaculately maintained with a charm of it's own, would recommend. No problem with the water you get bottle water in the room.
I was beginning to have second thoughts after reading a couple of negative reviews, but we had a really good experience here – from use of the guest laundry to the delicious breakfast with freshly squeezed orange juice. The accommodation was very comfortable – we didn’t find the room dark – the shutters could be opened - and the staff were nothing but helpful. In spite of our faltering and very limited Spanish, every effort was made to understand and help us – from recommending nearby beaches to explaining the workings of the washing machine. When I admired the fig trees outside the laundry we were even offered a fig each. I think it would be a great base for exploring all the beaches in the area. Thought it was especially good value.
The staff were helpful and kind. The hotel has a nice atmosphere. We took our dog with us and she settled very well. Planed to stay 2 nights but liked it so much we stayed an extra night. The situation of the hotel is in the country, but it is easy to get by car to San Jose and many local attractions
We enjoyed the surroundings & lovely beaches. The apartment was spacious & very well laid out. Very convenient for countryside & sea. We particulary liked the rural villages & exploring & would definitly stay in the same place again.
For to stay in Cabo de Gata by car is the best in price and location. The swimmingpool was closed
Excellent, stylish and cosy hotel for both relax and active time spending
The location was fantastic within short walking distance of restaurants and the main town center. The room had a balcony and was well maintained.
Friendly reception and central position in the town. Limited number of English speakers on reception
The hotel was an incredible value, and beautiful, with lovely balconies overlooking the sea (which was about 1 minute walk away). The staff were awesome, courteous, and helpful. The restaurant was the best part though - gourmet, creative but not silly, delicious. Our waiter for lunch and dinner was world-class and always had our favourite wine and two glasses ready for us when we wandered in from the beach in the afternoon. Breakfast was incredible... would stay again for a week even if it cost more.
State of the art, comfortable, modern facility. but.... The atmosphere was weird, inhospitable and totally lacking. I only met two employees during my stay both women. They claimed not to speak, English, German or Italian and made little or no attempt to communicate with me or make me feel welcome. a most unsettling and puzzling experience.
All the staff were very helpfull and pleasant. The breakfast was lovely and fresh every day. The perfect location for all the bars and beach and, ideal for visiting other Spanish villages. Wish they would do a cooked breakfast option.
Very friendly and helpful Receptionist, speaks perfect english, very good breakfast (it was the best on our whole trip in andalucia), nice and clean room.we would have tried the restaurant in the nice garden but there was a wedding this evenig. Everything they had prepared therefore looked perfect. So we ate in the small restaurant in the port. san jose seems to be a quite sleepy village with a nice beach (we didn't have enough time to see the beaches around) and without the ugly hotel complexes you can see on the costs of andalucia .Most of the visitors seem to be people from spain. Not many tourists. everything was fine, we will come back
Typical andalucian style ... excellent food very sensitively prepared by johaness the owner No
A hidden gem in the hills! The cottage we stayed in was very tastefully decorated, had a wonderful rain shower and a lovely view. A truly tranquil place to relax and unwind.
We liked the location and the atmosphere. The setting for fantastic and the attention to detail with the Moorish design of gardens, waterways etc., was excellent.
Very beautiful location. The owner was friendly and helpful with lots of information about the area. Quiet, off-the-beaten path, excellent food, comfortable bed and good shower!. Nice change of pace after hotels in the big cities.
Loved the hotel! We spent the last 3 days of our holiday, visiting the spectacular nearby beaches in the nature reserve Cabo de Gata. I couldnot have made a better decision. The pool has a decent size, which is important to me. Staff is extremely friendly and makes you feel at home.We arrived after midnight (but no complaints) and were immediatly invited to use the swimming pool and have a glass of wine next to it.Very much enjoyed the magic of the location, the hospitality of the staff and the wonderful breakfast! Ten out of ten. Thank you, thank you, thank you!
The breakfast, the scenery, the beauty of the place
When we arrived we were invited for a lovely meal although we didn't subscrive in advance. Our room had lovely atmosphere, de bed was good, floor-heating a relaxing douche, privacy. At 31 decembre we joined a great meal, very well cared, with a very cheerful international company and had a lovely evening. We went to nice coast (Cabo dia gato), to the mountains and Granada. The hotel is outside but close (walking distance) to a nice village Nigar. The people of the hotel are very friendly, easy-going and helpful.
The location was excellent for accessing the nearby natural park of Cabo de Gata. The town of Nijar was within walking distance and very well served with shops, restaurants etc. We visited over Christmas and the food was excellent, with a very good choice of breakfast dishes.
Very friendly people, tranquil location. Quiet
The establishment in overall is really cleaned and very well conserved. The client services was really great Nothing specially, I haven´t found anything wrong regarding this Hotel and I´ll come back as soon as a I can.
Available parking, good location, helpful staff, comfortable room, close to Cabo de Gata Coffee not very good and not much choice at breakfast
Very clean and smart, great swimming pool, breakfast ok
As this is my third visit back - I think that speaks volumes - I really enjoy staying here and find the staff exceptionally friendly and helpful.I intend having another holiday here in the very near future No
Clean and modern, good location, nice breakfast, good to have a pool
clean well located.
This hotel worth 3 or even 4 stars in Italy! Everything was nice and in a good position! Rooms were silent and clean. Breakfast and park included Just a simple but complete breakfast, in any case it was included so....
Position of hotel. Helpfulness of staff. Good soundproofing between rooms More choice at breakfast please!!! Fresh fruit, yoghurts and not just white bread toasted yuk!!!!!
Very good for a 2 star hotel. Good location near the beach. Clean and confortable. Overpriced
Very central, very practical and staff very friendly.
Great location, very nice host, lot of privacy, a hotel with a lot of character, with a great swimming pool! Just what we were looking for...
The location of the hotel is excellent. It is a kind of Club Med aspect composed of bungalows situated in a semi desert area. The hotel attendant is also very helpful. To have a car is compulsory.
Nice location, nice surroundings, respect for autenticity, nice materials and architecture. Some cheese would be nice for breakfast. Coffee and fruit was good though
Beautiful, peaceful setting; wonderful, friendly proprietors and a private and relaxed environment.
Very nice place to stay in the Cabo De Gata park area, aesthetically pleasing with a lovely rural Spanish feel. Big firm comfy bed. Room had air conditioning which was a pleasant surprise as didn't notice that in the listing (?) Recommended. Thank you.
Great location, hardcore countryside and yet the apartmente is very spacious and confortable. The staff is amazingly helpful. We always slept late, so just a quirk: they should have a Do Not Disturb sign or system so that cleaning service doesn't try to open the door.. Mind you it was only at 12:30 p.m. :)
Staff really friendly and helpfull, walking distance form beach and city centre, nice view from the balcony of the room No fridge in the room, Air conditioning too noisy, smell of dump in 2 drawers
For the price a very nice hostal - friendly and helpful staff, clean and tidy
great place to stay. Clean and very friendly!
Very nice, helpful staff A little bit far to the sea
