The hotels location and the Imperiale restaurant The hotel arranged the transfer back to the airport. It was the most hair raising experiance we have ever had
You had to pay for a wifi connection - unbelievable considering how much you pay per night
beautiful site of hotel. we had a room overlooking the lawn and a view of the lake. the maitre d'hotel at the restaurant helpfull and efficient. the quality of the bread was not so good. 15 euro per day parking fee felt a bit steep considering the hotel rates;
We had a marvellous time and were well looked after. The staff were attentive without being pushy. The lakeside restaurant is a particularly idyllic setting. Not a dislike, but a suggestion - an individual daily paper delivered to the room (albeit a day behind if English).
Bar staff was wonderful, friendly, prompt, attentive etc. Relaxing in the bar was very comfortable and enjoyable.
The location is excellent. Right on Lake Como. Staff was very helpful. Piano bar made the nights much more fun. Great restaurants, we had a fantastic dinner.
The hotel staff were excellent in all egards. The location was spectacular. The food and bar service were of particular enjoyment. The hotel could use better signage regarding what to do with your car upon arrival. I initially used a pay lot that I thought was connected with the hotel only to learn that the hotel has its own parking structure, but it was not well marked.
Nice hotel and setting I found the hotel very impersonal. We weren't informed about the boat which goes around the lake as a form of transport, when we asked the best way to shops etc., we were told to use a taxi which cost €30 for a short trip. There is a stop for the boat, which is much cheaper to get around and far more pleasant, just in front of the hotel.
Great room and facilities perfect
Great cocktails in beautiful bar Beautiful views of the lake and gardens Very well located close to Cernobbio and Como All services available All amenities were functioning well. Comfortable spaces. Quiet rooms. Outdated style and decoration
Location, unbelievable views, corteusness of staff It has sofa beds rather than regular beds. Sofa beds are less comfortable since they have thin mattresses
The best view to Como lake! Wonderful peaceful little hotel, owners are a lovely couple. A trip from Como town is a real experience recommended for everyone. Car is a must.
Nice View, nice rooms. Long drive from Como
The view over Como Lake was terrific. The staff is extremely patient and helpful and pleasant. We had a great stay at the hotel. The road to get up there is tricky though. But one can use the Funiculario.
Fantastic location on the top of mauntain. Room is simple, but nice and clean. Very nice quait plase and staf is very friendly. We spet there very good time! I'll recomend this place for romantic trips. Thank you!
Great location but no view of the lake. However, it is only a short walk away. Everything else was excellent, including the breakfast.
When we arrived the staff were very attentive and showed us our rooms and offered us complementary drinks. The door to the hallway was difficult to shut and the doors were thin, so any sound in the echoing hallway, including other guests with loud televisions, carried to our room. It was not very quiet.
No information that I could see on the exact location of the hotel. It was about 8km into the mountain.
The hotel is beautifully placed, the view from the room is great. Also the manager (owner?) was very nice and helpful. The bathroom floor was covered with the hair (after previous inhabitant probably). Yuck... Also getting to Brunate might be a problem -- there are two roads and our GPS guided us via the narrow path between the buildings... Not for SUVs for sure :)
The views of the lake and mountains are superb, especially the sunrise Limited evening meals available, but nice resturant nearby. Our room was obviously owned privately and was not very clean, despite being no smoking the room smelt strongly of smokers. The room, plates and cutlery were dirty. Be aware that the bus service from the funicular only runs on Sundays at end of season - there were no signs stating this at the hotel which meant a long steep walk back to the hotel
Impressive buildings and grounds, nice pool. Our "standard" room in the Villa part was shabby (flaky ceiling, holes near lights, doors needed painting etc). It was a ground floor room and we had ants on the first morning but they were removed by the staff and didnt return.
its very quiet arroundet by a nice Park. Breakfast only till 9:00 pm
The staff were very friendly and professional.
beatiful and confortable no
Beautiful location, very friendly and helpful staff
The very friendly staff and the location on the lake
The staff was friendly and helpful and the food was excellent.
Attached to a very good restaurant. Limited but good parking in a town where parking is almost impossible. Excellent breakfast. Run by a very friendly and helpful family. Strongly recommended! Rooms decor reminiscent of the 70s, but perhaps this is part of its charm.
Great place to stay with good view of the lake. The breakfast was excellent. The bed and pillows were hard.
the place and the atmosphere nothing
Friendly people, Excellent kitchen (the best in the area), it is a real traveler hotel. The rooms can use an upgrade
A lovely family owned and run hotel on the Lake shore. Located across the road from the ferry wharf. Food in the restaurant and service was exceptional. Room was very comfortable with lake views.
We loved the Management and Staff (all owner and family) were excellent, as was the food and beverage, service and attitude, facilities and parking, location, and view. Better pillows would be about it! Loved the place.
very good service, didnt feel like a number..very personal, great value for money for the location no kettle in room
staff very frienly, good food .For everything you need they have they help you as much as possible.
The staff was friendly and accomodating. They let us check in early upon arrival and made sure we had a place to park the car. Breakfast was very good and plentiful. Opportunity to explore a quaint village that we may have otherwise missed. We liked the slippers in the room. Could have used luggage stand in the room.
Manager very very unpleasant. Any eit from my room had to be through the bar.not close to any shops or cafes
Frederico and his staff did a wonderful job in making our trip so memorable. The assistance provided during the stay was very greatly appreciated. It was well worth the trip up the mountain from Como!!!!
The staff were lovely, welcoming and genuinely friendly. No negative comments, it was a gorgeous little place to stay.
Very easy to catch the Funicular Railway down to Como so as to avoid driving and parking in the City
Local, authentic, used by locals. Restaurant excellent, wine cellar, modern facilities. Freindly service. Excellent location. no
The food! Heard from the gentleman @ railway station while we're asking for info on how to get to Locanda Milano from the station, that we should eat there. Indeed it was so good that we had our dinners there for 2 nights.
Lovely panoramic views of Como from the hotel room. Excellent food at the locanda in the evening - worth the price. Drive to Brunate rather nail biting. Italians drive as if they own the road. However, the hotel is not to blame. Some lobbying to widen the roads to accommodate the increasing number of vans and 4x4 vehicles would do great benefit.
The location was fantastic! Distance from a variety of shops/restaurants. Food was very expensive and lacking quality at the local restaurant.
the hotel is very-very far up on the mountain, the view is spectacular!
The view!!! No
Loction was excellant with fantastic views. Local transport to the main town was good.Staff at the resort was very helpful, room was very well furnished and the meals were great.
It was a great hotel just in front of the lake and very convinient location if you have a car, very nice resto, clean, value for money!
everything, except the "new" part of the hotel yes, I booked because I liked the rooms and the atmosphere inside of this hotel, like the pictures on the website, but when I arrived they gave me another room in the "new" part of the hotel, round the corner
The views, the dining room and an extremly nice and helpful couple running it! It's situation is a little isolated but served by a good bus service. The road infront of the hotel is very busy but did not spoil our stay.
The view to the lake was fantastic, the food in the restarant was very good and the staff was very sweet. Breakfast: no bread left when we arrived for breakfast at 9.00 a.m. Location: a bit far away from everything, would only recommend the hotel as a one night stopover.
It well-suited our requirements for comfort and ease of access. The breakfast was good and plentiful and the staff were very helpful. However, if travelling there from Como by local transport (20mins journey) be sure to ask for Hotel San Marino, Laglio bus stop directly opposite the hotel - (follow the route by a local map). We had a very unco-operative bus driver who told us to get off 1.5km beforehand and placed us at a very vulnerable location (extremely busy, unwalkable road) in a serious thunderstorm. Thank goodness we had the hotel telephone number who arranged for a taxi to come to find us. No
Cleanliness Breakfast, not enough
Hotel staff is very nice. The breakfast was very good. The room was not vacuumed when I arrived or during my visit. The street noise was very loud. If you don't have a car, getting around is a drag.
Well situated. Very noisy room under the kitchen. Also lot of noise coming from the street. Poor breakfast and very bad pizzas.
