Pros: The rooms are simple but good like the all house. The host is 5 stars.
Pros: The property is very quaint and very well recovered from an historical point of view. The rooms are comfortable and clean. The owners are very welcoming and friendly. Great value for money.
Cons: The access is not the best. But it’s quite acceptable.
Pros: After spending two days in Lisbon, we arrived at Casa Do Alto Da Eira. If you are on your way to the south (Algarve) and you want to escape from the busy life you have to go here. What a great place with beautiful views and super friendly owners. The perfect place to totally relax and unwind. The owners also provide a friendly atmosphere that makes you feel at home right away. The Portuguese breakfast that is served is delicious. We recommend this place to anyone!
Pros: A very quiet place with its natural swimming pool full of frogs - well you have to like their "noise" at night. I do! All is clean and has quality and the breakfast is very good. Very nice it was the the host waited with the breakfast for me until 11am as I am fishing. The dog of the house is a very nice pal - who even followed me to the lake.
Pros: The hosts were super kind and helpful. The house was just perfect, renewed respecting the traditional characteristics, very clean. It was fantastic to wake up among olive trees and the home made breakfast was lovely. We would have liked to spend more time there.
Pros: Very unique accomodation in quiet and peacefull surroundings. The hosts were very kind and made us feel right at home! Highly recommended!
Pros: Lovely owners, not big but delicious homemade breakfast. Very relaxing place surrounded by nature.
Cons: The frogs at night
With a stay at Pousada Castelo de Alvito - Historic Hotel in Alvito, you'll be 11.3 mi (18.1 km) from Ruinas Romanas de Sao Cucufate and 11.8 mi (19 km) from Museum of Arch House. This hotel has facilities measuring 2152 square feet (200 square meters), including conference space. Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: We liked everything about the place. The staff members were helpful and welcoming, our room was luxurious, comfortable and quiet, the pousada is beautiful with spacious grounds and a nice swimming pool, the breakfast buffet was excellent, and we had a very nice dinner in the restaurant. Basically, staying here we felt like we'd won the lottery.
Cons: I can't think of anything.
Pros: The Pousada is an old castle in the middle of a nice garden with very tall trees, bang in the middle of the sleepy small town of Alvito. Everything can be done on foot from the hotel. The restaurant offers very good food, friendly and multilingual service, all of which at reasonable prices.
Cons: If we take into account the fact that the Pousada is a castle, the double rooms turned out rather small and the facilities were, shall we say, a little bit quaint. Everything worked fine (good shower with plenty of hot water and pressure). I understand there are very large rooms available that convey more of a castle feeling.
Pros: no complaints about anything.Nothing to dislike
Pros: Location. Nice small town to walk & sightsee. Could drive to Evora for day of sightseeing & escape back to a quiet town.
Pros: Very comfortable beds. Really friendly staff. Beautiful surroundings.
Cons: There could have been more hot food available. We took our own tea bags but other people were disappointed that there was no black tea at breakfast. There were no snacks available at lunch time, only full meals.
Pros: Zorro-like hacienda with a nice flair on the countryside. And it really is countryside!! Really nice to take a break and just embrace the countryside.
Cons: When we arrived they didn't have a notice of us coming. The housekeeper who opened the door did just speak Portuguese and she was clearly not happy to find us on her porch but not on the reservation list. She called the owner (I guess) who spoke English and we could clear the situation after a bit of time.
Pros: the quiet location, garden, sun chairs (although they were dirty and needed on the spot cleaning.
Cons: -No wifi in bedroom (just put 20 euro extender in corridor and it works in bedrooms too. -First I telephoned to book. Only Portuguese from which i got only ‘no, no, no’. Then i made the booking via booking.com
Pros: This is a country stay experience 3 km from the town. It is a magnificent old house. One section has five rooms of accommodation ( we were the only guests). The living area is the largest room I have ever seen complete with numerous columns, arches, flagstone tiles and old furnishings. A great “hacienda” feel. Outside there was a pool area. The bedroom furniture was a bit tired but bathroom was fine. We had a nice home cooked meal. We were on bicycles and was good choice for our one night stay.
Cons: The mowing around the pool area and cleaning of the pool could have been done before we arrived rather than while we were sitting there. Destroyed the country serenity. The English speaking host seem to leave soon after we arrived and we were left in the hands of the Portuguese speaking housekeeper/cook. This place has a lot more potential that is not being utilised.
Pros: Isabel was an amazing host. The amenities were great although I didnt have much chance to use them. This was not a hotel but a home. What a great experience.
Cons: Room was very nice but felt a little "worn"

Pros: Very attentive and efficient owner/chef/waiter. What a charming man!
Cons: WiFi in the bedrooms would improve it
