free pool and gym. Recently upgraded, and is at the top end of 3 star hotels no internet access. Very small rooms. Breakfast was basic for standards found in other hotels while in Portugal.
The staff was excellent!Especially the reception was very helpful and friendly. The inner decoration of the hotel is nice and relaxing and the spa is a very good asset. The nature around the hotel is beautiful. The main problem we encountered is the difficulty to find the hotel. We arrived at night and there were no signs for "your hotel and spa'' .Actually everybody knows it with its previous name "thermas piedade" and so is written in the signs!!!Another thing is that the first impression of the hotel is not good.Thought inside is rennovated ,the outside of the building needs rennovation too.We wanted to use this hotel as a base to see the central part of portugal but it was proven away from destinations and with no life near it.But if someone wants to relax for a weekend it's an excellent choice.
The hotel surroundings are very beautiful and the rooms were very comfortable. It would be nice to have a computer with internet access for the guests and we found the heating, although it was good, it was a little dry.
The amazing spa (two internal spa pools, rain walk, sauna and more treatment rooms than you can shake a stick at), the wonderful staff and the lovely outside pool. The beds were small and uncomfy, no satellite tv in rooms, no internet.
The hotel is very modern and well decorated. The people are really kind. The room is very comfortable but msot importantly : the spas are wonderfull. Not the largest I've seen but everything you need is in it. The provide the bathrobe. The food is really not good. We ahve had a dinner and a breakfast there and it was really not good. The restaurant looks really awesome but what you get in your dish is really not. The sleeping room was a bit tiny also but it was not an issue
Very nice hotel with good breakfast and relaxing pool. We didn't use the spa. The staff was helpful and nice.
The staff was very kind and helped us to solve some problems we had It was really very difficoult to reach the hotel. No signals, impossible roads. The bathroom had a lot of problems: no hot water, water on the floor because of holes in the tubes ...We tryied also to eat in the restaurant ... The manager offered us the dinner to apologise. No comment
Friendliness/helpfulness of the staff Rooms were badly in need of updating. Toilets seats were very poor in particular. Corridors very gloomy
The feeling of being away in the country but also quite close to the town and the beaches of Nazare a litttle impersonal
very central location; availability of parking; helpful staff; very basic accommodation; mattress/pillows not comfortable; bar fridge not working;
We had a room with a balcony - really great view to the monastery (the main sight in Alcobaca). Especially at night the view is great. Excellent was as well that teh main sight was really opposite of the hotel, so you could be the first in the morning visiting. You can park in the garage for free. Breakfast is acceptable, but not great. Hotel has quite old furniture and looks like for several years no renovation (only repairs) were done.
Perfect location To avoid room 323 as A/C machine is hanging on the outside of the wall and give a lot of noise and vibration in the room. Did not want to change room as we arrived at 1am in the room and it was only for 1 night but it was very uncomfortable.
Perfectly servicable and clean and tidy - nice room, fabulous view from the balcony!
Our room had a wonderful view of the monastery. Very friendly and helpful staff. Excellent breakfast included the famous Portuguese pasteis.
The hotel also had a locked car park, which is a great help in Portugal. The breakfast was really great.
The hotel is placed in front of the monastery of Alcobaca, having the best position for visiting the town and its monuments. No
The view of the monastry was great.
The location was excellent, right next to the monastery and with easy access to good restaurants. The rooms do need a little refurbishment. The pillows are lumpy, and need replacing.
Swimming pool, solitude Bathroom facilities arrangement
The hotel was very good quality situated in the middle of the natural park, so if you like nature, there's plenty to do. Climbing, horse riding, walking tours, beautiful caves.. The food was excellent. That kind of breakfast is hard to find.
I personally think that this should not be considered a hotel. I was very dissapointed, and I will not ever spend my hare earned money. in a place like that. not ever again Rooms were very small and the windows, were very small. I felt as thou I was in jail. very musty smell. you don't have to take my word.
Everything To move the hotel closer to Alcobasa City
Beautifully furnished hotel in pretty surroundings. Room was clean, spacious and comfortable. Very friendly, helpful staff. Ideal for a relaxing holiday in peaceful surroundings. A car is needed to fully appreciate the area.
Great place and very good value
The very friendly of the owner
Friendly owner good service co operative good breakfast good value for 65 Euros would recommend this for anybody relaxing place full marks
Very nice english speaking staff. Lovely hotel with a warm and friendly atmosphere. Beautiful garden with pool. Cosy living- and breakfast room. Situated close to the mountains, beach, town. Sure, we come back.
the hotel is located near some industrial sites with sulphoric emissions. The smell all night was obnoxious.
good position for travelling around in the area
* A calm and nice hotel *Chose the hotel because of the location to Golegã. Was disapointed that the information on internet was incorrect. It was at least 25 km to Golegã! *Had some problem with the toilet, with the seat and wasn´t flushing properly. * A very hard x-trabed
Continental breakfast content was satisfactory Very disappointed, arrived during very wet Friday afternoon and as the restaurant was closed with no reason given, we had to walk around the town to find dinner, getting very wet and fed-up! Gym and sauna were also closed. Bathroom was filthy with black and orange mould on the grouting around the bath. At breakfast time the chambermaid was called to go for rolls for our breakfast.
Nice and peaceful and not full off tourists. Nice rooms
The hotel was very clean and comfortable and was a good stop-over on our way up to the north of Portugal. The staff were friendly and helpful and the breakfast was good.
Staff were very friendly and tried to help whenever possible. The restaurant was poorly used. We had 2 meale there, on both occasions the meat was undercooked. The second time we returned the meal and aske for the meat to be cooked through, it was but the potatoes and rice which were served on the plate with the meat had not been kept warm and when returned were unedible.
I am overwhelmed with this exquisite place, full of the charm of times gone by. The location is quite central, our room and bathroom were large and nicely decorated, breakfast was superb and served in a beautiful room, and the staff could not be nicer and warmer, making us feel really welcome the whole time. We are eager to return.
The room (R) and the one next doors, super breakfast, very friendly people, parking, all walking distance, unexpected good experience ! No and No again
Beautiful boutique hotel, excellent staff, well appointed rooms in the tradition of a historic manor house.
All people are very friendly and ready to help. Poor heating
This hotel is a revelation. Nothing too much trouble for the charming staff and the breakfast makes other hotels look mediocre. Anyone staying here will have made a wonderful choice.
the service was excellent no
Challet Fonte Nova is just a little jem and it stands apart from any other accomodation in its area. It offers a charming environment, great comfort and a very professional and welcoming services. The staff is very friendly and ready to make your stay there as comfortable as possible. We spent three nights in a double room which was located in the new building. The accomodation was absolutely in line with the highest standards of quality. The breakfast is served in an elegant and relaxing lounge-room and the quality of food is ensured. If you want to stay in Alcobaca and visit the closest locations (Bathalla, Nazare´, Tomar, etc.) this is the most refined and romantic place you can likely find there. Unfortunately, the hotel does not have a pool.
It was a beautiful house and the staff was exceptionally friendly and helpfull.
The service and the rooms as well as the common rooms were lovely.
