Pros: a real charmy place, well decorated. very clean and staff very helpful and nice.
Cons: Bed was somehow hard could feel the springs, No plug on bathtub so no bath... the room was not sufficiently insulated and no real privacy , we could hear all about in next bedroom. No TV in rooms and there is nothing to do in the area at night. Only one TV in living room but quite old. Breakfast was great however it was quite uncomfortable to share a table with strangers. There is enough space to set three separate tables for two..
Pros: Everything was perfect! And I really do mean it! We were so amazed by the location and the host.l, Jorge. When it was to late to get any food, Jorge kindly provided us with very good vine and snaks. Thank you for everything! Easily the best accommodations we had on our journey.
Pros: The Quinta was upscale understatement from the outside and stylish ambiance with harmonious design details inside, with a beautiful view over the lake from the terrace. The host was a distinguished gentleman with a sense of elegance, unobtrusive friendliness and quite a few helpful recommendations for sights in the surrounding area. The breakfast consisted of homemade delicious products proffered in the homely atmosphere of a very tasteful room and served by a very obliging lady. The lake was pure recreation. Simply a great stay in the back country of Portugal.
Pros: I enjoyed everything about my stay at Quinta da Eira Velha. The host was really friendly and helpful with suggestions of restaurants and activities. The staff were friendly and easy to chat to. I will definitely be back for another visit
Pros: EVERYTHING! Wow, just stunning. Every detail. Small touches of love filtered through this property. George was so helpful and we all felt so at home. Breakfast was simple, great quality goodness. We only wished we had stayed longer. We will be back.
Pros: This place was a highlight of our lodging experience. What an excellent b&b! Jorge was so kind and classy. A real gentleman host. His home is like something out of architectural digest. His taste is impecable. We felt so lucky to share. Also, although a bit remote, Jorge showed us how to walk down to the floating pool on the beautiful lake. We grabbed a beer at the concession stand. I wish we could have stayed longer. Also, breakfast was so delicious! Just stay here. You will love Quinta da Eira Velha!
Cons: Nothing. Everything was top shelf. Excellent!
Pros: We had the house to ourselves and everything was beautifully styled. As well as our loft-style bedroom and bathroom guests had access to their own kitchen and large sitting room. The owner was on hand to give us information about the surroundings as well as where to eat locally. Excellent breakfast - especially for gluten-free.
Pros: The house has a lot of character and we liked the way it has been restored. The location is quiet and peaceful and we loved to spend time in the garden which has a very nice view on the lake. We had a great walk in the surrounding hills. Breakfast was excellent as well. Special mention for the jams: homemade and gorgeous!! In total we got 7 or 8 different ones during the 2 mornings we had breakfast here and they were the best I have ever tasted! Special thanks to Jorge for being such a great host.
Pros: Breakfast by the pool is a dream come true, the views and the peace and quiet you get from this place are priceless.
Pros: Best place we ever visited in Portugal... exelent conditions, comfort, simpaty, and the best of all; the balcony breakfast is a world class experience. No negative points to mark, and the place owner, Mrs. Vera Castel Branco, was very helpful and classy with us. Many tanks for the wonderful experience.
Pros: Calm and beautiful location! Nice breakfast and fantastic host!
Pros: The view over Zêzere river is amazing and the hostess and staff are truly welcoming, which only adds to the overall experience. The breakfast is also really nice, especially when paired with that view and the surrounding nature. If you're in the mood to "slow down" from the city rhythm and work, this is definitely a place to visit!
Pros: Everything. The host is amazing, location is beyond beautiful.
Pros: The place is breathtaking... from the moment you get through the gates... Vera was very helpful always and made you feel at home. The best place I’ve stayed, so relaxing... the views from the property are spectacular... Hope one day to comeback!
Cons: Don’t have one thing that I didn’t like
Pros: The views from any point of the property are just stunning. The silence, the peacefullness, the garden with birds singing was just amazing, multiplied by the lucky chance that my husband and I were the only guests. The breakfast was nice, Ms Lina, who served it, was very kind and attentive.
Cons: The wifi in the room was almost none. We were adviced to put the PCs in the "flight" mode, but, naturally, it blocked it at all. The water wasn't hot enough. Since the wifi in the room was not working, and we had to work online, we moved to the cosy living-room with wonderful views and comfortable sofas where we were served breakfast. The internet there was perfect. Unfortunately, after a while, we were explained by the hostess, Ms Sónia, that we couldn't stay in that living-room and had to move to a hall with a smaller, much less comfortable sofa, there was just 1 socket far away from the sofa, and it was pretty cold there. We didn't find it very hospitable, frankly speaking, especially provided that we were the only two guests in the property, and that the price for 1 night was 90 euros. For this price, we could count with a bit more considerate attitude. Next night we were working at the terrace next to the living-room and saw the hostess, Ms Sonia, having rest with somebody else there. We were surprised that, though she saw us, she even didn't greet us. We felt as if we were disturbing with our presence. The last day she also didn't show up to see us off. When we asked Ms Lina about our receit, she explained, that Ms Sonia had a headache and would send it to us by email later. First we were happy to know that the property was pet-friendly, paid the accomodation and sent a message that we were going to take our small dog with us. We received a very polite response with a list of conditions under which we could take it, and the information that it would cost us 10 euros extra per night. We were surpirsed to know that because we didn't see it written on the booking. We felt like though the property is pet-friendly, the pets are not particularly welcome there, and decided to leave it home. In general, our stay was nice and relaxing, but we can't say we experienced much hospitality exept for that of Ms Lina's...
Pros: Vera is incredibly nice host. the place is wonderful, with great view, very calm, nice swimming pool.
