Great hotel with good clean facilities, Good size pool, nice leisure areas, Easy walk in to village.
We loved the setting: quiet, clean air, song birds; as well, the rooms are a very comfortable size, recently renovated, yet still somewhat musty smelling; the restaurant offers gourmet meals.
the staff were very friendly and helpful. the food in the restaurant was excellent. The hotel has 2 tennis courts and a swimming pool. location is great near to Espelette and the atlantic coast. spain is only a few km away.
Brilliant location for traveling in area. The room / bathroom was large, very clean and air conditioned with a balcony. We had all our meals outdoors on the terrace which was very pleasant. The restaurant was excellent but we only ate there twice for our main evening meal because the menu never changed. Large private car park. Staff were very friendly. Pool was lovely. There was a very small bar in the hotel but it never seemed like it was open. No change in restaurant menu.
Pleasant and helpful staff, comfortable rooms, good food and a lovely area.
Pool Lack of catering for Vegetarians.
We liked the comfortable spacious suite in the most idyllic, tranquil, rural position, good food and friendly staff. The use of a personal golf buggy to get to and from the main hotel building was an enjoyable bonus. For a hotel of this standard, the fridge/minibar and kettle which didn't work on arrival should have been checked before but this was only a minor irritant. Breakfast at 22 euro per person was rather over the top but the expense was softened by the amazing view from the terrace.
probably the nicest place we've stayed in, top class luxury at affordable prices. the scenery and solitude was amazing. we will be back!
We loved the location, the views are wonderful and the comfort of the hotel. The staff are attentive, but discreet. It was a very special experience.
The hotel was wonderful in all aspects. The room (suite) was great, down to the linen sheets. I did not like the arrangement whereby, because of the gates, the staff seemed to be keeping track of your movements
Nice place, the rooms very good, wonderful food, very clean. The staff helpful and friendly
dogs in the restaurant
Excellent evening meal. Good facilities, swimming pool sauna etc Slightly expensive
beautiful location, excellent food, very pleasant and understanding staff.
The food was excellent and the owners very friendly which made up for the points below. It appeared to be in between summer and winter seasons and we were the only guests. I arrived tired and thirsty after a long hot drive and found the place locked and was unable to get a beer.
Welcoming staff, open and airy reception area with lots of room, pleasent garden with view of the hills, excellent food, Our room was a little cramped, the menu was a bit overpriced
staff were helpful we booked this hotel because the website said there was a pool. There was no pool, i would not have chosen to stay here had i known that as the hotel is in a remote area and we did not want to drive every day.
The hotel is situated in a small village which has a small shop but no other amenities. The hotel was easy to find and we received a very warm welcome. Parking is very convenient behind the hotel. We decided to have our evening meal at the hotel which was excellent. The regional cooking was interesting and good quality. Breakfast was also good and we liked having this included in the price. Like other people who have provided a review, we appreciated the helpful advice from hotel staff on what the area offers.
Very helpful friendly owner who though she said didn't speak English could! Very peaceful spot in lovely countryside. Limited menu but good food. Ideal for an overnight stop
The hotel was fine but the only thing I would criticise is that the hotel was cold. The weather was hardly spring like and we all found the rooms to be on the cold side.
This was an outstanding hotel. The staff in particular were very helpful indeed. I strongly recommend it.
The staff were lovely - very helpful in storing our bike safely overnight. Good to have wi-fi although we had to sit on the balcony to get a decent reception. We had the best meal of our 6 day trip across the Pyrenees. The food was fresh, local (trout from the farm a short distance up the road, and delicious. Very good value too. Breakfast was good with whole jugs of coffee or chocolate, although the bikers could have done with a bit more protein to set them up for the day. It was very good value for the 5 of us. The rooms are a bit tired and old fashioned. We had one bolster pillow across the double bed for 2 of us which was a challenge!
both Mr and Mme who managed the hotel;the antique items, the paintings, the library
quiet place close to beautiful mountain-area ,st.Jean Pied de Port,Roncevalles.friendly staff, good food.
