Hotel room was clean and good value. Although the evening meal (menu del dia) was not expensive, we were disappointed with the quality of the food in the restaurant i.e. the fish was very small and had little flesh and the lamb was nearly all bone - we could find no meat!. Breakfast facilities were very poor - we had to eat in the cafeteria which was full of work men from the building site next door and there was only one person serving the coffee and doughnuts from behind the bar i.e. no table or self service facilities.
Clean, reasonable prices Don't speak french or english at all
distance and availability of car parking acceptance of pets, ease of booking in and out at reception.
the kindness of the staff some smell sometime along the corridor
The in-house restaurant served an excellent menu del dia. Very poor location, only suitable for an overnight stay.
This was the 4th time we've had a overnight stay at the Palacios accompanied by our dog and for us it ticks all the boxes. Ideal pace to stay if you want a reasonably price, friendly hotel to break your journey. Menu del dia in the restaurant is pretty good too! N/A
Helpful staff and central location, the rooms were clean and despite the cold weather at an ambiant temperature. It was all rather basic including the restaurant which was lacking in any atmosphere or ambiance, the bar was very local and very smoky! Not used to that in UK any more.
Receptionist on arrival was very pleasant and made us feel most welcome. She is a real asset to the hotel. The central location was a plus as it was only a short walk to the main town features, especially the grand church with all the storks nesting on the parapets!!
Breakfast in bar - too smokey for children
Excellent menu of the day for 11 euros. Very convenient for an overnight stay.
Nothing - it was a Truckers stop off it was a Truckers stop off
A very good for an overnight stop, about 195 miles from Santander, approx. 3and half hours.. mostly motorway. The evening buffet was good value at 11.95 euro and there was a large selection. Staff spoke little English but were most helpful The evening meal did not start until 9o'clock, but this is usual in Spain
Sorry, nothing was really good in this trucker place beside the location near the big road. Extremely bad smell from the backyard when opening the balcony door. Very untidy bar, which at the same time was the breakfast room. The staff in the bar did not know a single word in English. Even "breakfast" was unknown.
Ideally located for motorway travel stop-over. The permanent buffet meal facility was basic but clean. The food selection was huge catering for most tasts and of exceptiopnal value. Highly recommended for the hungry traveller. The room smelt strongly of stale smoke.
The Hotel was very pleasent, and the room was bright and clean, beds comforable. The only one point here was the shower, the unit on wall was to high, and there was no slide bar.
Easy to find. Fairly quiet even though it was on the main road. Good size room with comfortable twin beds. The restaurant did not start serving food until 9pm which was too late for us. The tapas snacks at the bar were not to our taste.
They accept dogs. They have rooms with three beds. Difficult to find as no nearby junction for Satnav to locate. A little noisy as this is mainly a truck stop and is full of Lorry drivers who spend the evening in the bar.Restaurant not open until 9pm
The small business hotel is up to a normal standard. Room are quite spacious in its category and the room facility are quite good. We also love the shower. The town is in the middle of Rioja and Zaragoza so may be nice as a stop in between. Staff are quite nice too. We saw a rat walked out from the kitchen when we were having breakfast!
New,modern,clean facilities. None
Its location enabling us a stopover on our way between UK and Spain. The staff were very accomodating and extremely helpful.I would use the hotel again. The wind turbine located nearby was quite intrusive.
The staff were very friendly and helpful but they spoke little english so could be a problem if you spoke no spanish at all. The bedroom was spotless as was the reception areas Only issue was the hotel was too far out from the city and there were no buses to take you into town, Driving was the only option. The impression that the website gives is that you can walk, It would take 30 to 60 minuets depending on fitness
Very friendly staff. English spoken, good breakfast, secure parking. Good restaurant nearby recommended by hotel.
Position in relation to the motorway and overall appeal
No Evening Meals but good cafe close no staff meamber could speak any English and difficult to find
Very comfortable hotel, modern design. Free sauna. Good breakfast. Private parking. Restaurants, bowling allies and cinema near by. Ideal to visit the Bardenas Reales. nothing.
Excellent service, great staff.
We chose this hotel to see the intriguing monuments in the Bardenas Reales Natural Park nearby. It was very clean and comfortable and the staff were very helpful and friendly (the manager even guided us in by phone when I called to say our GPS had taken us to the wrong destination). We had dinner at WOK (next door) and found their buffet to be fresh and exceptional value with a cook to order section presenting raw meats, vegetables and seafood.
Rooms were very good, staff very helpful
Restraunt was closed Food at other in house source was limited
Good value for money, though the rooms are becoming a bit tatty and dated.
reasonably priced, good breakfast and friendly staff.
With proper directions easy to find, easy to park and modern facility hotel In the middle of nowhere. Dinner and Breakfast facilities in gas-station only and extremely poor. Only close or within a small city the price is justifyable
Clean and comfortable, smart new hotel, with excellent basement bar, and a nice sun terrace, if you can persuade the staff to let you out onto it Cafe beside reception was smoky and unappealing, downstairs bar was much better but only opened at 19:00. The sun-terrace was great, but the staff seemed reluctant to let us use it when we first asked, which seemed odd.
Very good hotel.Comfortable, spacious room.Excellent buffet breakfast at very reasonable price. Good cafeteria and bar facilities also. Very short distance to town centre Minor complaint was the wash-hand basin in bathroom, it was ridiculously shallow. Impossible to wash or shave without drenching the floor
The food in the Scottish bar! The no smoking signs were completely ignored by the staff and customers in the Scottish Bar!! Very unpleasant.
The staff was exceptional in all aspects. The rooms were clean and comfortable. The location allowed us to tour the downtown without the headache of traffic and narrow roads. Great center square.
The freindlyness and helpfullness of the staff. The rooms were quite small and boxey
great location, nice concept, healthy breakfast do not take a room in the main building (ask a separate "container room") as noise insulation is really poor across rooms, price too high for what you get (I assume you pay originality of concept), restaurant not really impressive, all great rooms not available due to photo shooting
Wonderful architecture and facilities and of course location. Do not order food on a Monday evening. Very poor value for money. Fairly mediocre breakfast. At the price we paid one sould expect something a little 'special'.
Relaxing. Nature. Friendly Staff. The modern Design of the hotel. Location. 200 meters far, they have modern windmills for electrical power. Why they didn't connect that hotel to this? They need Diesel engines for the energy, that's why is so expensive.
Breakfast is excellent. It was an unforgetable stay!!! The swimming pool was out of service.
The rooms with views over the national park, the design and architecture of the hotel. Good food - and dinner a little earlier this year than on our prvious visit which we appreciated Bathrooms are beautiful but impractical!
Everything - environment, room, food, swimming pool, etc Serving of breakfast started quiet late for business people
Truely unusual hotel, set in the middle of nowhere; the best description one could give is that it is like a luxurious moon base. Amazing rooms, especially if you book one with a private bath in your own private garden. Did not get chance to sample the food but if the rest of the hotel is anything to go by it too would be truely outstanding. If you want a really memorable stay, I could not recommend a more suitable hotel Nothing
The very special ambiente and the friendly service We arrived when it was dark. Not easy to find.
Great design and well-intentioned, if slightly amateur service, but as as often happens with great design, it is not wearing well. On the other hand, seriously over-priced for the quality. Nothing awful about the place, but we won't be going back.
The facility was wonderful. The staff was excellent and very helpfull in give us directions and suggestions regarding other things to do not on our list. The rooms were very clean, large and comfortable. We enjoyed the restaurant as well. The food was very good. Having internet access was very handy. Nothing comes to mind!
Easy to locate in centre of city but close to historic Roman and medieval areas of great interest; nice big rooms ,very good regional food, helpful efficient staff. No english language TV allthough hotel literature claims to supply it!!
We enjoyed the atmosphere with the antique furniture and quiet luxury feel. The staff were extremely helpful. It was good to find such a quality hotel in an area of Spain that is quite empty of towns.
Excellent location just off the motorway in the middle of the wine region very helpful friendly staff we were towing a boat behind the car and it was very easy to get to and they had pre-arranged a section for us to park overnight in their secure car park
The location was ideal and the hotel for our requirements
Great old-time atmosphere, friendly staff, varied and plentiful breakfast, fine restaurant, quiet even though centrally located
La bona situació del Parador dins de la població
I wasvery disapoinrted that no mention had been made that the air conditioning was not working due to the change in the seasons. I think this should have been noted on the site or at least at reception. The weather was very hot and below our room was a smoking room with the doors open... Air conditioning was needed
attention for details all over the parador, very very clean, rooms spacious abd very comfortable. i do not mond but the wooden floor can amke some noise - it would however not be the same whithout it.
The staff wher extremely helpful, the room was fantastic a large sleeping area with an enormous bathroom, we are only sad we satyed one night
Location in the city
The hotel was a midway stopping point on our way to Barcelona, it was situated in a quiet square, easy to find and the recepionist was friendly. We were shown a secure parking area for the motorbike. We arrived on a Monday evening approximately 18.00 and could not find anywhere to have a meal, the hotel offered no refreshments. The town in spite of asking frequently did not appear to have a resturant which was open between 19.00 - 21.30 on that night. We were charged a car sized parking space for a motorbike.
The hotel is located on a corner of a nice square and there are a few tables in front of the hotel/restaurant where you can sit to drink and/or eat. The value for money is good but its a simple 3 star hotel - not more. The insulation of the rooms. I only found parking spots reserved for local residents (there is a parking suposed to be not to far, but I couldn' find it)
location of the hotel is near old town center which is beautiful and interesting historically.Hotel itself beautifully restaured and rooms luxuriously but discreet.Staff attentive and professional. No.
Proximity to center. Class and design, quiet. A real delight
The complementary refreshments and the coffee was very plesant. The staff were also kind enought to re-open the section after hours when we requested. The water controls for the showers were terrible. The water were alternately hot and cold even though we did not adjust the temperature settings during the shower. My friends in the other rooms faced the same problem.
the beautiful hotel and hotelroon, good location, friendly people
close to the cathedral
The staff were extremely helpful and friendly, it was a festival weekend, so the dinning room was full, so we asked for a sandwich in the bar, which was served beautifully and quickly. Lovely building, gorgeous room with huge balcony and lovely bathrooms. Really enjoyed the stay. nothing
we stayed overnight at this hotel, the facilities very good, hotel was clean and extremely comfrotable. the location was fantastic situated in the centre of the town. Although there is no bar, the hotel provided completementary drinks, in the lounge area and free mini bar. we found the staff to be very helpful and polite. we would stay at this hotel again. nothing negative to coment.
Excellent location near the old town with very good amenities. Staff wre wlcoming and helpful. We hope to visit again.
A comfortable, friendly hotel in the heart of the old town. Well worth a trip.
In our room the airconditioning was out of order, but the staff was helpfull in getting is another room. The minibar is for free and not only filled with water! On Sundays almost all restaurants are closed in Tudela as well as the restaurant of the hotel.
did not understand why i could not book mon friday
Wonderful staff! Extremely hospitable management! Simply decorated and very clean and friendly. Great facilities. Can't praise it enough! A great experience! Pity that more of the character of the monastery hadn't been retained in the refurbishment and transition to a hotel. Could be improved with some more decoration and some interesting pieces of art/furniture etc.
Nicely renovated hotel with a lovely large room and great facilities. The staff are excellent. Their restaurant food is particullarly good.
The first impressions of the building are very good as it is newly converted and attractive. The staff were friendly and helpful. The room was a bit plain but clean and comfortable. Good value dinner and simple breakfast included in overall price for the night.
The beds are too simple and not confortable, This is not a hotel for business purposes.
very accommodating staff, off the beaten track, old building--though modernized--gave feel of a monastery or convent, suitable for the handicapped surroundings were drab and made for a closed-in feeling at the facility, restaurant prices seemed high
modern and nice. it was a bit cold (because of the season) but we ask for a blanket and everything was correct.
Our room was spacious and very comfortable. The little patio was lovely to sit in at the end of a tiring day driving. This hotel is perfect for an overnight stop when driving across Spain. All the staff were lovely too and being to be able to park for free in a secure parking area was an added bonus. We opted to pay for breakfast in the bar attached and although it was adequate (individually wrapped croissants and cake with coffee) and the bar staff very nice, it wasn't worth 5 Euros.
staff polite and helpfull. room clean and modern.
Room size and en suite Internet access did not work, in addition there were no instructions supplied. Restaurant was not open. Breakfast was tiny - a cup of coffee and a pastry?croissant.
The staff were very good and efficient - hotel very clean and a decent range of menus with fair prices It would benefit from more signage and directions from the towm centre
We have stayed at this hotel many times. It is conveniently situated on the main road to Bilbao (for the ferry), is comfortable and has a restaurant that is open until late.
It was an ideal location for an overnight stay on our trip from Santander to Alicante, (and again on the return journey) and our pet dog was welcome as well. We would definately use the hotel again. We ate Tapas on both stays with a bottle of Red Wine and it was very reasonable. It was just what we expected after reading reviews on the website we would use it again. The only thing is it was more than a walk away from the centre of Calahorra.
Friendly staff. Bath too small.
Nice room It is not easy to ｔｈｅ ｍａｉｎ ｔｏｗｎ ａｎｄ ｃａｂｓ ａｒｅ ｅｘｐｅｎｓｉｖｅ， ｔｈｅ ｓｔａｆｆ ａｒｅ ｕｎｈｅｌｐｆｕｌｌ ａｎｄ ｔｈｅ ｉｎｔｅｒｎｅｔ ｉｓ ｅｘｐｅｎｓｉｖｅ ｔｏ ｕｓｅ．Ｃｈｅａｐｅｒ ｔｏ ｃａｌｌ ｂｙ ｐｈｏｎｅ．．．
very helpful staff. Good swimming pool.
The hotel is well positioned for an overnight stop on route to the Ferries at Santander and Bilbao, having driven over from near Alicante. We were happy with the hotel in general and very happy with the room. The restaurant food was very good.
It was very close to the highway. We just made a stop to sleep and continue our trip. The fact that pets were allowed.
the food was excellent value distance from town, no use of pool after Sept.
Very Truck stop orientated but convenient as a one night stopover
