Proximity to resort. Air conditioning was an extra-this was not highlighted at the time of booking. Also the a/c unit was not effective.
I'd like the staff and the owners, very familiar, helpful and friendly. The drinks at the bar are really cheap, the breakfast made on your desire. It's not a hotel, it's more a family guesthouse. Some things are missing, like wireless internet, no telephone. A frigde in the room is really important at the Algarve. The shower cabin is tiny, the shower head was calcified, missing small towels and bath mat.
Staff is nice, pool is fine and teh pool and ping pong table make it easir to pass the tim Location is far off from anything, Faro is dead at night and not really a interesting town, the beach is not nice, Albufeira on the other hand is 30 minutes drive from the hotel so if you want nice beaches, nightlife and resturants you are better of getting something closer
Reception is very good. French speaking reception. We are able to rent a (bottom-of-the-line) mountain bike at this hotel. A lot of track to bike around ! It's a good place to start mountain-bike ride.
The people running this hotel were very helpful, going out of their way to make your stay an enjoyable one.
Price of the excellent breakfast Hot water was only aired - would not get hotter. No one spoke English - managed to get by through speaking French
Yhe staff at the hotel were really helpful and hotel was really clean
Quiet room, nice view, comfortable bed. friendly helpful staff (needed to speak Portuguese). Bus stops nearby, local cafe provided a traditional good value meal.
Spotlessly clean, family run business. Lovely clean pool. Very welcoming atmosphere.
Staff were very friendly and as helpful as they could be with their little knowledge of English and my pigeon Portuguese! I would only recommend if you have a car. It was in the middle of nowhere and when we arrived it was about 8pm. there is no real restaurant facility in the hotel and no shops nearby so that evening we dined in our room with a small tub of pringles and airline bought water! sad times! this hotel is a bit more like somebodys house and it was about a 30minute drive from the beach. due to this we subsequently moved hotels after just 1 night.
the location very poor service for a 4 star hotel: no working safe in the room, a mini bar with 3 bottles of water, no working internet service.....
Good location yet very quiet Don't know why we weren't given a balcony when we paid for most expensive room and hotel was far from full
practice sports in hotel Gym
Breakfasts excellent and great to sit beside the window on the top floor sipping coffee and watching planes approaching the airport, with the marina below. Overall the hotel provides very good for money. Internet booking saved about 7 euros per night While we were there we booked an extra night for a fortnight later and were given suite style accommodation for that night, which was excellent recently refurbished accommodation. Swimming pool on the roof is a real bonus, with excellent views across the coastline. Accommodation very central, excellent position. There is a busy street below and the main bus and coach station, however, two layers of double glazed doors and thick curtains means that sleep is not a problem Other guest reviews I had seen were not as positive about the hotel as I thought they could be. Unable to get a marina side view even though requested in email.
The staff were very friendly and helpful and the short distance to local bars, restaurants and shops was a bonus.
Great view , good location in Faro, very nice spa .
We selected hotel EVA in Faro for location and value for money. Both were excellent. The hotel is in the same building as the bus station for the lines from faro to Sevilla, Spain, and at the same time 200m from the old town. Internet should be free of charge, as there is no running cost for it. Safety box in room was not large enough for my laptop.
The gym WiFi access not available
Staff were really great, location was good, beds were reasonably comfortable although it was two singles and as we'd just got engaged we wanted a double. Wifi didn't work, beds were crammed in- and there were three, when we only needed the one double- room service selection was really poor, facilities were ok but the pool was absolutely freezing, shower leaked everywhere and the bathroom grouting had mould growing on it, room temperature control didn't work so on a hot day was pouring out hot air into the room...to say it was a four star hotel it has two star qualities. Be glad the staff are fantastic because the rest of it was really poor. Would definitely never go back.
Hotel Eva is a very pleasant place with helpful staff and great facilities, which makes it an ideal place to stay in faro,If their is a down side it would be that their can be some street noise but this depends on which room you are staying in as to the level of noise that you will hear.
We liked the location, the view from our room to the marina, the excellent rooftop restaurant, the friendliness of the staff.
comfortable and relaxed.Friendly staff who are helpful. Breakfast prepared too far in advance.could be varied.Car park too expensive and poor design
No room service menu - only on bar menu which was ham & cheese or cheese & ham sandwiches!;
Great location in the centre of Faro with stunning coastal views from rooftop the Restaurant The noise from the town square can be an issue in the early hours
Good location, easy to find easy to check in and out nice scenery at the breakfast room air-condition was poor carrage was expensive (10 e/ngt), same as bigger cities
No bedside table No facecloth No tissues Very minimalist decor
Convenient location, very clean and comfortable room found the sound proofing minimal with noticable noise from adjacent rooms
Good Location Information pack in room not good
The location and the design of the hotel.
Breacfast on the 4th floor with nice view to the salt marshes I did not now do I need to pay additionally for drinks from refregerator or it is included in price
great location. very competent courteous and helpful staff. excellent breakfast! rooms were exceptionally clean and provided all amenities. would highly recommend great value for a stay in Algarve
Location, cleanliness, staff Not applicable
Family room, clean, well equipped. One of the staff members at the reception desk was kind of rude. The rest of the staff was good. The room we stayed in was tiny. The pillows were very old and unconfortable.
great value for money, good room, not big for 2, but ok. Breakfast is nourishing, the hotel has its own confectioner, all the bakery is very delicious, especially Portuguese national round cakes with custard. The hotel is near to the centre and city mall with shops, pastelarias and small restaurants they have no ironing room or at least iron. Also there is no computer with i-net. So if you are unlucky to travel without netbook, prepare to look for an i-net cafe.
Excellent location and very clean. Also, all facilities are in hotel for food and beverage.
Proximity of excellentn restaurants and services Parking problem (no street parking aside from 2 spots)
location was tops ,staff more than helpful and it met all my requirements of my holiday Balcony door did not shut properly , was no security risk but noise was a slight issue room 207
The accessabilityto local shops, restaurants and seafront. The smart appearance and politeness of the staff. Newly refurbished to a high standard. Would definitely stay again if in the area.
We have been travelling around Italy, Southern Spain and Portugal for three months and this hotel is easily the best value for money accommodation we found. Staff are wonderful, very friendly, professional and always anxious to help. The hotel has a nice restaurant with a set menu (changes daily) of a three course meal with either a fish or meat dish for seven and a half euros. They also have a great (and cheap) coffee shop with some of the best cakes we could find. We stayed four nights and wished it had been more. Faro is a lovely little town where you can spend quite a few days looking around and just taking it easy. We met people who have been coming back to this hotel for years and we can understand why.
nice staff, esp at reception, spoke fluent English, well situated hotel, clean and modern it was like it was still undir construction, not complete, the breakfast was not so interesting
Nice spacious suite, well equipped, great resort facilities. We felt we were more nuisances than guests at Bobby's restaurant.
The birds and the trees. The people of the front desk. They tried to charge me with the telephones calls that are toll free. They are very rude.
Accessibility A bit old fashioned
great area, pool area great and location was super TV was not clear, toilet seat kept falling down rooms a bit shabby,
The villas are comfortable, nicely refurbished and quite attractive. I did not have hot water in the first day which meant having cold showers... something that I always detested, even if after a lovely day at the beach
Great facilities at a great rate and staff very accomodating. N/A
wonderful hotel full of nooks and crannies to explore.great service, nothing is too much trouble.Very helpful manager who is very welcoming and friendly.Had a great stay as it is a great location for airport, motorway and Faro.excellent base. Somewhat noisy rooms opposite village square. breakfast ok for short stay, but became boring after fourteen days
It was a perfect Portuguese hotel set in a small agricutural town with fantastic staff , a lovely room and balcony, small pool set within a relaxing courtyard. Very atmospheric and delightful.
Very friendly staff, excellent breakfast and a great house. Rental car recommended. Great place to relax.
friendly and helpful manager; excellent breakfast; very nice interesting town.
the staff were very attentive and they had a pool table and a number of chess boards just laying around the place, it feels like your at home, there was a lot of traffic sound, you are surrounded on all sides by road and they tend to fly around reving the engines a lot,
Set in a quiet village it was like stepping back in time on passing through the Doors of Casa de Estoi. Fabulous hotel superbly clean All the staff made us feel welcome and spoke good English.Perfect spot for a quiet weekend getaway.
The hotel staff was very helpful and we enjoyed staying there a lot. The hotel is very beautiful, its swimming pool is great too. If bored its possible to play pool or chess. The city where hotel is located has a nice atmosphere. Having a car is a must.
The management immediately make you feel welcome. The hotel is beautifully appointed and the staff excellent. Everyone shares their days' experiences at breakfast or in the comfortable bar/lounge in the evenings. Nothing to fault.
Beautiful house - lots of history and nicely appointed rooms.
The quaintness and character of the house, both inside and out. There were no credit card facilities and the pool was neither heated (as advertised) nor particularly clean. As an aside to the hotel itself, the neighbouring church chimes its bells on the hour and half hour too which can be a bit disruptive if you want an afternoon snooze by the pool!
Very convenient for Faro Airport
proximity to Faro Airport and ease of check in Web site should provide full directions from the airport
The welcome that we had when we booked in. The staff could not do enough for you or give you a cleaner, nicer room.
Clean, large rooms. Noise from the street
The convenience to airport. The restaurant although we didn't eat in it looked to be very good. Bit vague in identifying hotel. Seemed more like a restaurant from exterior.
+ close tho the airport + clean rooms + rooms are comfortable + very friendly hotel staff +/- no elevator, using stairs with luggage to go to the first floor. However, for us no problem at all. Hotel staff is very friendly and will help people who want/need it. +/- no dedicated no smoking rooms. When letting staff know preference no-smoking, they will accompany you and make sure you get an odor-free room.
The price v service ratio is excellent and exceeded expectations. The rooms were clean. It was quite noisy at night added by fridge in room.
Very close to Faro airport. The hotel was a very positive surprise, big rooms, breakfast from 4am, helpfull reception staff, very good food at the restaurant.
Thje size of the rooms and cleanliness Perhaps a softer bed.
Great location for early Faro departure. Hotel, modern and spotless, staff were extremely helpful, evening meal excellent value, breakfast great variety. Nothing at all.
Very good welcome & service. Very comfortable room. The staff looked after my expensive jacket that I left behind. We had to take a smoking room as very few non smoking rooms.
The pool area was good Unable to get hot water from reception, at 6.30am, to heat up babys bottle and no hot water in room.
We needed a hotel near to the airport and were more than pleased with Hotel Monaco. Friendly efficient service, good quality room, good breakfast choice. Helpful with booking a taxi the next morning.
Perfect for Overnight for an early flight next morning . Food choice not very good. I had a hamburger , very average .
Overall experience and the friendliness and attentiveness of the staff. Fruit juice at breakfast was not fresh - it was clearly orange squash.
A very good little hotel in the medium price range, with good facilities including a nice restaurant.. I particularly chose this hotel as it was advertised as having a shuttle service, but when I asked to use it, I was refused because I needed it at 08:15 to go to the airport and this was too early.
Very convenient for airport for early or late arrivals and departures and have used it for most of these situations. Also good value as it is well placed for motorway connections, also Faro centre. Nothing
Nothing exceptional and not a hotel to go on holiday too. I was away for business and it was ok. construction work and no bar.
location for seeing area round Faro
Hotel Monaco went above and beyond what we were expecting. We read the reviews on here and thought we would take a chance as we were on a budget. The hotel was impeccably clean though, with new feeling linen, fresh looking interior and decor to match. The room was really nice, and big, with a balcony (you must ask for a balcony room), and there is buffet breakfast every morning which is actually very good!! There is fresh fruit, cereals, milk, nesquik, tea, coffee, scrambled eggs, fresh rolls, ham, cheese, sausages, yoghurts and juice. A great way to start the day!! We had no problem with noises, and the cleaners were very trustworthy and did very good jobs on the room daily. The staff were all helpful and very kind. Fantastic!!! The sausages and croissants at breakfast, though everything else was perfect!! I did think the hotel was a little closer to faro centre, but the courtesy bus which was available almost every time we needed it was very good. Even if it's not - its only 5 euro to get to the centre.
parking and cenral
The cleanliness of the hotel was superb and the staff knowledge was excellent, providing maps and showing you where everything was. The lack of facilities at the hotel was disappointing, there was nothing to do when the weather was bad and I am pleased I didn't have the children with me because that would have been a nightmare.
No hastle No
The room was quite big. It had a separate living room as well a jacuzzi. The breakfast was excellent. It is a bit far from the bus/train station. It was a bit difficult to find it.
Friendly and helpfull staff.
it was clean, comfortable, good location, close to airport and walkable to all town amenities.
The hotel was very quiet and we had view on a church from our window. Someone walked into our room straight after we checked in - we think that it was cleaner.....
The rooms are spacious, clean and the hotel is very quiet. The staff are nice and helpful and the location is good, about 10 minutes walk to the city center. The only thing I didnt like too much was the breakfast, as it is very basic. A bit more choice and variety would be really good.
Everything was ok, we stayed there very shortly but it was clean, easy to find,
The room door lock was pretty poor and staff merely showed me how to open it with my shoulder
Next to the train and bus station (2 min.). Short walking distance to the old town as well. None.
The rooms are new and great. They charged my credit card 5 days before I came without my signature or anything.
front desk is very helpful. SHowers are very small. Breakfast needs more variety, there was hardly anything except bread and cheese
The hotel catered for smokers. The staff wwere very helpful without being intrusive. Although the room was very clean - the smell of the cleaning products used was quite overpowering.
The staff were friendly. The breakfast was a welcome extra. The room was fairly comfortable and nice bathroom Balcony didnt lock
Meeting the man from Zimbawe and also the owner. Very helpful and friendly
Hotel Staff very good and helpful. Hotel very central, just round the corner from the bus station and train station and Faro beautiful Marina. Rooms very basic, pillows were so hard. The triple room we reserved was small double with a bunk bed thrown at the botton of the bed/.
Excellent location and friendly helpful staffs The hot water system not so great and bathroom has moulds on the ceiling.
Location and non smoking floors
Clean and comfortable, idea for a stopover close to the airport The area around the hotel in general
The location of the hotel is very good, just a few steps form the beach. The staff was extremely helpful and nice.
I loved the hotel. The location cannot get any better, for the beach is literally 10 seconds away and it's only 5 mins by car from the airport, and yet you get peace and quiet since it's located on the isolated lagoon that can only be reached by crossing the bridge. The staff were very helpful, spoke very good English, very kind. They gave a lift for my very early departure and made me a lunch pack. The room had a balcony facing the beach and Atlantic Ocean and the dining space is facing the lagoon where you can see the Sun coming out and have breakfast while enjoying the view. I abosolutely had an amazing time and the very best time of my life. Nothing I can say.
it was 10m from the beach, not far from the airport and had really friendly staff perhaps the bathroom - but it was value for money
good proximity to airport for late flights, and location on the beach nothing
close proximity to the beach and friendly staff made our stay pleaseant and hotel views where decent dated decoration and facilities not enough pillows and uncomfortable bed
Great location, very close to the bus station and old town. good price. Poor sound isolation of the room. could appreciate if they changed towels for the 4 days that we stayed
Value for money. Location is just a couple minutes away to the local downtown. It's not like a usual hotel, it is very much a guest house. Very noisy. If you get a room by the entrance, you'll be hearing door bell very loud and anoyng. There are different wired smells in this guest house, pretty old furniture, but rooms are really clean. No breakfast!!!! But I suppose its value for money.
Staff were friendly with very good English.
narrow path to reach the room on the balcony and no lift
Nice location, not too far from the train station but that's about all it has going for it... there are better options nearby. Rooms are tiny, no real views or atmosphere. For the budget conscious only.
The only good thing about this hotel is the location: really close to the train station. The price is way, way to high! And it includes only sleeping over, no breakfast. The room has the size of a matches box and we're not fat people and not even too picky. But definitely didn't like it here. The windows make you feel like you're in prison or samething(exetremly small). The bathroom is suited maybe for kids up to 5 years old; only they can fit in there. And the door of the room is so thin that it feels as you're sleeping on the hallway. Would definitely not recommend it except if maybe the alternative is to sleep in the street.
Great location. Friendly staff. Very clean. Cable TV. Very nice terrace with the possibility of buying cheap drinks from reception. Quiet, although walls are very thin and you can listen to people coming in. Bed wasn't very comfortable.
This hotel was a great disappointment. The only good thing about it was its close proximity to the marina and old town. There were so many stairs to climb and no offer of assistance with our bags. There was no warm welcome. The room was very basic and the beds were terrible - so lumpy! I bet the owner/manager wouldn't sleep on them! It was at the cheaper end but compared to where we stayed in Albufeira for less there was no comparison!
Friendly and helpful staff rooms were quiet, Use of large terrace very central Price was brilliant. I would stay here again Rooms were very small and the facilities were very basic, which was reflected in the price. Good value for your money.
The hotel staff were extremely helpful and nothing was too much trouble. We had a wonderful stay and the hotel was very central and only a short walk from the town centre.
I picked the hotel as its close to the airport for the early morning flight. They were well organised for this and I will use them again
Close to the airport the bed was not comfortable
Extremely convenient for a one night stay. Very close to the airport. Efficient staff.
The staff were all pleasant and the room, though small, very clean.
Greta breakfast Smelly room, not that clean, broken AC
The Friendlyness, cleanliness, good food and great funny Darius at the bar Lift out of order
They were happy for us to leave our luggage early before the room was ready. I paid for breakfast when I didn't have to, annoying.
nearby the airport Very bad communication with hotel staff. Room wasn't clean. Very expensive facilities and services with poor standard.
We needed the hotel for one night, it was reasonably close to the airport and had good parking and suited our requirement very well. No
Staff at Hotel Ibis Faro were very welcoming, friendly and helpful. Also very close to airport, ideal for an early morning flight. Room was not very comfortable while bathroom was not entirely clean.
The staff were very helpful. The hotel is easy acess to the airport and walking distance to the town centre but over looking a park.
Friendly staff, well located, clean and inexpensive, would stay again.
hotel in good quiet location near to bus and train station. very clean.
Easy access from outside the city but within walking distance to the city center
convenience to the airport and a good staging point to the rest of the Algarve
everything excellent especially staff no
Price, cleanliness A bit worn out.
From room with balcony is amazing view to town. Hotel near to centre and very easy access to/from AirPort. I forgot my mobile in the hotel - Thanks a lot to staff and Elvino, who ASAP sent me the phone to Vilnius.
Close to the airport. My flight cam in late and the hotel was easy to find with directions from the airport. Only stayed overnight. Room was Ok. Breakfast terrible. No real coffee or fruit juice.
The fact that the room had a patio, and the cleanliness The room was extremely small, and had no view whatsoever, despite the advertised. The room was located at the back of the hotel, far from the main entrance, having to pass through the breakfast room to get there. It faced the emergency exit of the nearby hospital, and since it was on the first floor, I could hardly sleep, because of the noise.
Helpful staff, pleasant hotel interior, clean room and bathroom, decent bed, AC, balcony with view Ugly street and unattractive main entrance (but a lot better from the other side)
good value for money, very close to train station
lovely private balcony, decent breakfast selection internet wasn't working
The hotel was very convenient for all transport/s. Room small but adequate. Complimentary continental breakfast also adequate.
get waht you pay for, good value lights went in bathroom and the lift stopped working cause the cleaner got the hoover jammed in between shaft and the door,
Good value for money. Reception staff friendly and helpful. Breakfast rather basic
The breakfast, the central location Two single beds pushed together to make a "double bed"
The Residencial Afonso lll was a great place for us to stay as we were flying out of Faro at 6 am. It is a 2 min walk from the train station and seemed to be in a good location. Staff was fantastic and very eager to assist with directions, information etc. Rooms were small but comfortable. A very nice place, for the budget traveller. Bathtub was permenantly stained where bathmat should be and bathroom could have been cleaner. I think it was more the appearance of being dirty (eg old grout, stained floor etc) than actual dirt.
