position and still having smoking rooms! spa and gym unavailable
Clean white sheets, good location. Not a lot of information for around the area. some complimentary bathroom products would of been nice especially as only traveling with hand luggage and being a four star hotel. also hairdryer in room not working, very important for ladies.
Very friendly staff, fast checkin and check out. good central location no
Rooms very nice Corridor smelled stuffy
The location was wonderful, the hotel staff was very friendly and the room was great, especially considering the discount.
excellent location, rooms very tidy and clean. staff was very friendly and helpfull.
comfort and brand new condition
The Hotel overall was nice. The breakfast was poor and not always fully supplied. I'd not like to be there when it was busy
Good modern hotel with all the expected facilities. In the centre of Alicante but not near the beach (no problem for us). Close to the old quarter of the city which is worth a visit. Hotel staff a bit abrupt - sometimes verging on rude.
Very nice hotel and very centrally placed. Great value for money. Felt like a 4 star hotel Twin beds issue wasn't made clear to us.
Modern Clean Hotel with Friendly staff
Very clean, modern and spacious. Bathrooms excellent and breakfast very good English translation on hotel literature, menus, etc very poor and misleading. My daughter, who is now studying in Alicante university for 6 months, could offer several suggestions on how to improve the english translation. The rooms should have a small kettle and cups so that guests can make a cup of tea or coffee early in the morning when they get up or late in the evening before they go to bed
Smart reception. Nice staff A bog standard business hotel - very corporate and bland.
The staff at the hotel and the hotel in general was absolutely excellent. The breakfast and dinner are quite expensive and not particularly good for the price they charge.
Good location, nice foyer. A pleasant place to stay for a night out in Alicante. Helpful staff (we asked for a late checkout and there was no problem and no charge), also the concierge was happy to store our bags after we checked out while we got some lunch downtown. I don't think this hotel would be classed as a 4* by Irish standards, perhaps a 3* rating? The room was small, but functional. Slight smell of damp, but we didn't spend much time in the room, so not a big issue.
Location excellent for train station, shopping, dining, bars etc. Staff very helpful. Nice rooms, very little noise at night. We enjoyed our stay.
The hotel was excellent. I cannot believe it has only a 3 star rating as by the looks and the service it was a high 4 star rating for my taste. The staff were really helpful and polite. This is from the reception staff to the room service / cleaning staff. Everyone was friendly. The hotel was extremely clean. Modern look and feel. Great location, not too far away from the beach front. Just excellent The only thing I would suggest would be for the beds to be more fixed to the floor. The floors were lovely and shiny but slided a bit. So when there was movement in the bed, the bed moved too. Not a big problem, just a bit annoying.
Nice stuff, nice hotel, good location! Everything was perfect!
Everything, especially the location, close to seafront, town centre, and rail, bus and metro stations. Nothing.
I liked everything. Handy, sober and clean, very confortable, much choice for breakfast including fresh foods, excellent quality/price value. Exactly what I look for in a hotel. There was nothing I did not like. Below you asked if I agree with the comments of other users. I do not agree with some of their comments. Lowering the mark because there is no tee or coffee in the room seems pathetic to me in comparison with the high overall standards.
the help we received from reception when we enquired about places we were wanting to visit. that we couldn't make a cup of tea or coffee in the room when we could have done with one.
Didn´t see much of it. We were out in Alicante and only slept there. Location excellent for partying!
Perfect location, both near shopping and the beach. Nice breakfastbuffet Witherspoon excellent coffee and a selection of fresh fruit. Thin walls, flums also wish for better knowledge of English among some of the staff.
Good value for money, good location. The second room I got was an ok size. I asked for a non-smoking room in my reservation and at chack-in but was given one that smelled strongly of smoke and had an ashtray. This was still classified as a non-smoking room. I got to move to a larger room that was non-smoking on the evening of the second day. Breakfast buffet was quite sparse.
The location is fantastic. No facilites to make a hot drink in room.
English: It was neccesary to use the air conditioning in the room. I could choose between a smaller outside room and a room facing the yard.
The fact that the hotel was very centrally located and close to the airport bus stop.
Inter- and intra-city buses and the train station are right there. Close to the water. Lots of places to eat. Ultra small room.
Friendly, helpful staff. No bar for a pre-prandial drink.
Very good location, next to bars, restaurants, and promenade.
room was clean what is advertised on the website is not correct. there was no airconditioning and it was very hot, when we opened the window we were bitten by mosiquitoes and it was noisy. internet is only available when the cafe next to the hotel is open and it closes early. staff surly and unhelpful. do not stay here
Central position, very good for communication both by foot, private and public trp. Poor choice of breakfast, very limited continental.
The room was quite calm and it was very clean. Continental breakfast should be self service.
the hotel staff spoke English and helped in all matters. Clean room with balcony, in the heart of the city. Parking there.
Room was clean Poor facilites, air-con only worked during the day, cafe was only open until 2pm, staff were unhelpful (telling us to book our own taxi to the airport).
Proximity to centre of city and bus connection to the airport. Good clean comfortable accommodation. Would have liked a hairdrier but no complaints. Lack of hairdrier
It was close to the shops and convenient for the airport No Parking and breakfast was a very small snack
Location, building, private, in general was fine. I am glad In the evening when I´ve asked to press my shirt or to get an iron - it was not possible
Central location Balcony never cleaned. Aircon switched off at 3am.
Good location Beakfast poor (coffee, orange juice and 1 cookie), the frame bed was squeaky so we had to remove it during the night and sleepin just on the matress on the floor.
Average hotel in the middle of the city. Good rooms. Parking distant and difficult to find.
Welcoming staff and good location for travelling
Room contained tv, air conditionair, hair dryer, little fridge. We got fresh towels every day. Right over our door was a little white box - I guess it's for safety reasons - that shined during the night and enlighted the room.
It was close to the Railway Station No. All in all it was good and we will stay there again !!
The staff was friendly and helpful and the rooms were very clean and delicate. The Hotel is easy to find right next to the train station and the room was quiet. I left early and did not have time for breakfast. However the area where breakfast was served seemed nice. I enjoyed my stay.
Very much clean and organized
Convenient location and fresh decor There was a stale smell( possibly of drains ) in the room
Excellent value and a friendly hotel very close to the railway station.
its location no
Good location and a rather good price. A rather basic hotel. Typical three star. You don't get anything extra, just the bed and a bathroom. Nothing is bad but nothing is better than average either. You get a reasonable good hotel with clean rooms at a low price. Personally I prefer 4 star and up. This was the only available hotel when our flight was cancelled and we had to stay another 3 nights.
the stuff were helpful. it is right at the centre.
Very very nice and warm staff, Hotel Leuka would be my next choice in the future.
The bathroom full size My money of 1,000 Euros was stolen by the hotel employee with her duplicate ley right from the safe deposit box in my room at the first 2 days of my stay. The manager Christina did not apologized, the reception staff made fun of this, the receptionist lied while interpreting to the policemen in my room. Obviously she stole the money herself. I had to write an official statement at the police station. Very humiliating experience. Never offered a insurance for the stolen money, shame. I moved out to the 2 star hotel nextdoors.
friendliness of staff lack of tea/coffee making facilities in bedroom
Located uptown, away from busy tourist aea.
the location to city center but not noisey, and the hotel staff were very friendly. n/a
There was no air conditioning and I could here the man next door snoring all night. Once tax was added, one night in a single bed (double room - but two single beds with table in between) cost 50 Euros. In my opinion not worth the money.
Central location We'd just left a 3 star hotel which was brilliant, so this was a shock to see so many differences here. No air conditioning, no power points available (except for shaver in bathroom) to even recharge mobile phone, wall paper thin, beds uncomfortable with thick plastic covers, tiny tv that only worked sometimes, decor/furnishings dull, uninvited guests in our room (killed one in the bathroom), so we were promptly moved to another room. Some advice...3 star rated hotels in Spain can vary a great deal, so do your homework.
very centrally located and the staff were very kind and helpful my hotel room was very small
The hotel was in a good central location. Room was a little noisy as it was street facing.
Hotel staff were friendly and efficient. Parking adjacent to hotel was ideal and handled very well by receptionists.
There was no smell of old smoke in the room which is something extraordinary in Spain Just a small detail. After cleaning on the 2nd day, found the few small items (eyepencil, mascara, lipbalsam I had left on the bed) thrown in pile on the table.
This hotel is centrally located and competitively priced in comparison to similar hotels. Complete lack of customer care, ignorance of basic health and safety considerations,a management who will not make themselves available to deal with customer complaints, hotel staff who are openly hostile and completely unhelpful to guests.
Good location and very good staff
Very friendly staff. Good location. Nice Caféteria on 1 floor. The room's really need some "refresh".... Very poor many things, even the bathroom.
The hotel was at a really good location in the heart of Alicante. It fulfilled everything that I expected, the room I got was big and with two beds although I only paid for a single room. The staff is really nice! Were ready to help with everything that i asked for. I will definetly go there again if I go back to Alicante one day. I would have like to have a balcony. And the cleaning ladies always came at noon, when I was asleep and never came back during the day.
Clean tidy value for money and central location. Second time here!
Modest room in the city centre, 24h convenience stores nearby. The receptionist had us sign some lengthy data security agreement written in Spanish “for our own good”. He was yelling at us for two minutes, aggressively urging me to sign, while we were trying to read through the fine print first. Eventually, I signed with “I don’t speak Spanish,” which he apparently didn’t notice. He calmed down immediately and was quite friendly for the rest of our stay.
The location was perfect. The service was also fine. People try to do their best. It was very noisy in the night because there is a bar nearby and the local people are celebrating the whole night, all the nights :)
Excellent location, within walking distance to the RENFE station, to the beach/marina etc. Abundance of shops and cafes nearby. The cafeteria downstairs offers good food at reasonable prices. The room smells of smoke although it is supposed to be a non-smoking room. But it's a very common problem in Spain anyway, as many guests will simply open the window and smoke in the room, hence it's not the hotel's fault.
I was quite impressed with the accommodation. The room was spotless and fresh clean bedding and towels were provided and replaced daily. The reception area and the restaurant (which I used regularly) were light and airy and the hostel had a very positive overall feel. I feel it should be ranked a 3* hotel, rather than a hostel! It was excellent value for money - both the accommodation and the restaurant, and it's well located, with lots of small bars, cafes and restaurants nearby. Tip: catch the airport bus (€2.60) and get off at Plaza Luceros, which is a 5-min walk to hostel (head for Mercado Central) as the street the hostel is on is just behind it. Airport bus took 20mins and, on the way back, just 11mins! (during the morning rush hour!) It could get a little noisy at night and, although I hesitate to say it, the reception staff weren't the friendliest, although they warmed up a little - maybe that's because I stayed 4 nights and they got used to me!
The staff were incredibly friendly, the room cleaned every day despite the sand and mess we made from the beach, and every service the hotel had promised to provide was provided. At the end of our stay they even made place in the lobby for our many bags, so that we could continue exploring Alicante despite having to check out earlier. A great hotel for its price. Nobody spoke English there (but we had a native Spanish speaker with us) Cold water on the last 2 days (but they were renovating and it was very hot weather!!)
The staff were helpful and the location central. There is a cafe as part of the hotel which also serves food. The bus stop for the airport is 50 yards or so from the hostal. Given the price, 25 euro, I can't have much to complain about and harboured no illusions of palm trees, pools and gyms. Soundproofing isn't the best so you do get to share the joys and traumas of neighbours arrivals/departures etc. If you are looking for scenic views and a bit of pampering I would advise going somewhat more upmarket.
everything ,the food, the staff, cleandliness of the hotel.we have stayed at the goya hotel four times now and will be staying again .
The location was the best... close to the bus stop for the airport and to the city centre That it costs 4 euros for an hour to use the internet which is only situated in the foyer of the hotel........ they should have wi-fi....keep up with other hotels that supply this
Very helpful staff, good breakfast. ~10 mins walk to the centre of town but very convienient for the tram (to beach). Quietish location.
we have stayed at the goya hotel twice now ,and we have recommended it to our friends, which have used the hotel since then and they have the same opinions as us,to find somewhere to stay for value for money and the cleandliness etc of the hotel is excellent.
24hours reception The receptionist tried to give as 2-bed room with a suplementary bed instead of 3-bed room which we had payed!!! We protested and got the "normal" 3-bed room... but what do you think of such a behaviour?
Good location, friendly staff, nice bar and restaurant
The hotel staff was very polite and helpfull. Jesus, Jesus J and Juan: thank you ! Extremely noisy hotel, but ear plugs can fix this problem during the night.
There is no wifi and a lot of noise during the night.
the good english speaking reception girl from norway little noiusey
nothing size and condition of the bathroom ceiling fan loose and in very bad condition, door to balcony in a very bad state
Clean, quiet, excellent location (very close to town centre, marina, bars and restaurants). A couple of "niceties" missing, but I would stay there again (Can I have my ,money now)!!! Hair drier is pretty standard nowadays. Cramped washroom. Room lock was blocked off inside, only leaving a flimsy bolt to secure the room at night. Only Spanish speaking channels on tv (no good to us Brits)!!
onlybthing would be to have access to benglish TV programmes
Small prices, location at the old town The reception staff does not understand English at all. The hotel is very noisy, especially the rooms at the front view.
Convenient for town and beach no views, but then it was only a few minutes from the beach
It is quite close to the beach and a nitelife. Beds were old and unconfortable. Very noisy. There were no proper lock in a room door.
Excellent location for nights out, beach or shopping, always accessible (concierge) staff helpful.Have used this hotel twice before and will use again Micrwave and toaster would be useful in apartment
Loved the staff; very friendly. And the location was fantastic. Very close to the bus station, but very close to the port and beach as well. The beds weren´t very comfy.
The elcome by the staff, their helpfulness at all times. The hotel in in an excellent possition for all types of travel and relaxation. no
I asked for the room faced the street. Room was nice and clean, but noisy (receptionist warned me about that before so it was my choice). Friendly staff, central position, very good price.
Great location and friendly staff Room lacked facilities to make a hot drink. I realise this is normal in Spainish hotels but I still miss it.
I was very satisfied with my staff were very friendly as I spoke in spanish only problem couldnt get internet to work
Clean, basic hotel. Staff kindly called a taxi for me each morning. Quite noisy at the back (rooms 407 & 408) due to kitchens from neighbouring restaurants.
The location of the hotel is excellent, right at the centre of Alicante and within walking distance to the marina, the tram-train stop to Benidorm etc. There are many restaurants and cafes nearby. The toilet/shower is a bit small.
Perfect location - close to old town and beach; rooms with towels, cleaned each day; good acces to the airport; adequate value for money; very helpful staff Staff doesn't speak english at all
Very convenient for me as I go to Alicante to visit friends ( I lived in the city 2005/08) Nothing to dislike
It was so central to everything and was kept clean and tidy every day. None of the staff spoke spoke a word of english.
simple but very clean small hotel in the city centre, nice walking to the beach, close to shops, cafes and restaurants, in the middle of discos and pubs, stuff didnt speak any other language except spanish, little bit noisy in the night but we know this before so it was OK
24 hour access. Central. Internet in rooms. No shampoo/gel replaced. No in room coffee making facilities.
