Excellent hotel. Lots of charm, very old stones. Excellent gastronomic food, marvellous view, nice people who always try to help, great pool. Really we enjoyed this stay : "hors du temps". everything was perfect
Friendley staff, stunning location. Restaurant is trying too hard. Steak pieces on a skewa were too large, and a steak knife would have been useful. Steak cooked perfectley. Croquettes, very bland, and not really as advertised - sorry. 16.50 Euro for a glass of champagne is a little steep. Swimming pool was cool and the surface was covered with flies, not really inviting.
The breakfast cost should be included in the tariff they are charging and give composite packages including breakfast+ dinner, as the resort is way from Salon
The staff bent over backwards to make our stay wonderful. We had a dreadful travel time getting to the hotel because of the train strike, rain, etc, and Patricia and Danielle in particular made our arrival very sweet. All the staff in the hotel were truly gracious.
We liked the hotel very much. We thought that the evening meal was quite poor...the fish selection was actually very bad.
The staff on reception were very helpful and the breakfast was good. Shower cubicle is small but at least the toilet is in the room and not down the hall like other budget hotels.
The location and the value for money. It was excellent for an overnight stop.
Absolutely nothing! I'm sure there are trenches better suited for living! You may actually like this place if you have previously been locked up in a South American prison. I can't believe I actually paid 41 euros to stay in this poor excuse for an accommodation. Why is there such a lack of decent, well priced places to stay in France. For this price you can get a decent 3 or 4 star accommodation in other parts of Europe. Please save your money and sleep in the car, or if traveling by foot you'll feel better sleeping on the streets (you'll be 41 euros better off!).
At this price its a great option
This is not a hotel but a motel, a wayside place to sleep overnight on our way to Avignon as the plane arrived late at night.Clean and comfortable and good parking. No receptionist when we arrived .Everything automated, better instrucions needed if you are arriving after closing hours.
We could not get inside the hotel. We arrived late after a late flight, had great difficulty finding the hotel,, and then could not find a way through the gates. We tried for an hour to get in. In the end we had to go to ibis. Very unsatisfactory and infuriating when we were exhausted. The next morning the hotel staff was rude when I complained about not getting in. We would not consider any of your hotels again.
You get what you pay: if you take the cheapest hotel, it is cheap. Just a regular French motel anyway. Bad smell in toilet, too soft bed.
Value for money. Also hotel had a deal with the neighbouring hotel allowing guests to use their restaurant and giving us a free drink and 10% off the total bill. The food was excellent and about half the price of a comparable meal elsewhere, even before the discount Room was a bit cramped and a metal 'bunk bed' over the main double bed was a bit claustrophobic. An English language channel on the tv would have been nice!
The reception welcome Everything was as expected, very good
The room, as with most cheap hotels, was small & the shower / toilet was compact.
Position of the hotel is fantastic because You are always in the near of everything. Especially if You are in Salon-de-Provence for festival is very worth to have this advantage. The hotel owner was so proud of the fact that he does not speak any other language beside of French.
Location Room was not comfortable. Lacked the quality that was expected.
location: at the center of a charming town
excellent location friendly owner street-front room quite noisy bed too small (but it's a french problem...)
Very friendly and attentive host. Were able to park the car just outside the door (but only after the host removed the posts!...otherwise, impossible to do so). No lift; we had to carry suitcases up three floors. Very basic, old and worn. Air conditioning in only one bedroom but not in the other, and sleeping with the open window led to mosquito bites and noise fro the street in the morning.
Central location in Salon de Provence. Parking was only extra at 6 euros at nearby carpark but 5 eurs per day cheaper than the normal rate. Continental breakfast was excellent value served by the firendly host. Air conditioninng. No lift for older people but not a major problem. good for touring Aix, Avignon or Arles areas. Room decor and bedding was a bit tired and needed freshening up - room was a but stuffy. Town of Salon is pretty sleepy.
Lovely traditional hotel in great l;ocation. The patron was extremely helpfull and the room was lovely
perfect location, downtown but very quiet. Very friendly staff, nice and clean room
Location great as a mid point for Provencal points of interests. Unloading and loading luggage not convenient - tiny little space in which to back your foreign car into. Don't like to leave key with the front desk open for all to take. The front desk man was not at all happy that we took our keys with us by accident one day. Maid service leaves occupied room doors wide open while cleaning. I did not like the lack of concern for security. Also, in the description of the rooms, it lead me to believe that some rooms opened to the patio - not true, however, the windows opened to the patio. Rooms very out dated. I am sensitive to scents and the linens were washed with very heavyily perfumed detergents. Bed was extremely hard. I do not recommend.
friendly staff, homely atmosphere, clean room and good breakfast
Net Rooms, Excellent Service, Very Friendly Staff and Free Internet make this is a great place with good value for money.
You can easily see that the owner of the hotel really cares - which is such a rarity nowadays. The location is right in the centre and rooms are spotless.
The interaction with the staff was excellent. Very nice people. The locaion of the hotel is also very good, both as regards Salon de Provence and Provence as a region. Everything in the hotel and rooms was old and a bit smelly. There was no door at the bathroom and for one of the rooms the toillette was downstaris. We stayed in the annex building, in the courtyard. The bad sheets were very old and colourless; did not feel comfortable sleeping on them. There is no air conditioning.
Ideally located in the centre of a small town, the owners were extremely helpful, providing maps, books and giving excellent recommendations of restaurants, places to visit etc. Breakfast in a pleasant courtyard was good. We stayed in the family room which was in a separate annexe and would definitely be described as budget!
Friendly, helpful family run hotel. Air conditioning worked fine. Some rather noisy renovations in progress across the hallway - On Sunday too - Preparing room for owner's forthcoming baby
For our family of 5, we had private family quarters of 2 bedrooms (2 doubles + 1 single) & 2 baths, with a lovely view of the pretty little courtyard (with fountain, herb bed, olive, tables & chairs), plus 2 flat screen TVs and free wifi. Donald & his wife Letitia who run the place were very nice and gave us lots of advice. There was free parking on the street outside for us. Same day laundry (wash, dry & fold) cost just 5 euros. It's a short walk to the town centre (with clock tower, shops, cafes, Nostradamus museum etc) and even a soap making shop. A large Carrefour & gas station is a few minutes away by car. For us, this was a convenient base from which to explore Provence (Arles, Avignon etc) & the Luberon by car. Our apartment was on the 1st floor so we had to go up a flight of stairs but that was ok for us still fairly fit people. The rooms did not have any kettle or microwave though it might have been possible to ask for hot water at the very nearby kitchen (but we didn't ask). I suspect it might be warm in summer, but a table fan is provided.
Friendly approach, great atmosphere, very quiet
I really liked the hotel owners (and staff at same time), they are so available to help out and nice! We (my wife and I) really felt comfortable during our staying, I do recommend the hotel for working/free time trip. There is none.
We wanted a base for exploring the area - somewhere with a choice of restaurants nearby. Rather old fashioned - room small
friendly staff, nice location to go some village in provence , good quality price ratio, not new but pleasant clean room. there is no shower curtain for bathtub. small fridge did not work well. 48h was needed for cold drink.
very friendly and helpful staff, tastefully decorated bedroom and dining room, good quality of food, cleanliness, private parking, excellent location
A very simple hotel, and quite sitable for a short stay
Parking very secure and reasonably priced -- very cheap lodging for an overnight stay. Staff was accommodating. Comfortable in a very basic way. Lighting in hallways a bit dim and place needs a coat of paint but at these prices who can complain. No coffee or tea in room but staff willing to provide some for a modest price.
The staff was exceptionally friendly, and the room was a very good value for the cost. The shower had very litte water pressure and the handle to hold the shower head was broken.
The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. No complaints
Lovely family run hotel - very friendly, Good breakfast.
The staff were very nice to us and helpful. The room was large and comfortable and the bathroom was updated and large. Lighting in the room is very poor.
Friendly staff, good bed, good breakfast, private parking.
No soundproofing in the rooms. Woken up at 2am by very noisy guests!
We were staying in bungalow. It was very quiet. We had the best night sleep and completely relaxed and recovered after our intensive trip to Spain. We enjoyed a picturesque landscape, and beautiful architecture, sunbath at the pool, and horseback riding tour kindly booked through the hotel. Also the restaurant is superb. Tennis and ping pong nets are asking for replacement.
someone there to welcome us at 9.45, despite it being due to close at 9pm difficult to find in the dark- went three times around the town's one way system
Very central, on square with many restaurants/terraces.Air conditioning was very appreciated Closer parking would be appreciated
The lady of Dutch descent who checked us in o the Sunday was very helpful and professional. The French guy on the day shift should not be in the service industry
Excellent city-centre location, mostly-friendly and helpful staff, clean albeit small rooms. Very basic accommodations (I'd rate it a 1 star), no lift, no air conditioning in most rooms, and small breakfast (inexpensive, but very limited).
Very nice hotel, recommended for travelers.
The owners were very friendly and helpful. Rooms were clean and practical and with great view on the surrounding streets and square. Parking was available in the nearby garage and was very affordable (5.5 EUR per day). The hotel is in the center of the Salon de Provance with nice cafes all around and makes an excellent base for visiting that area of Provence. Although we had a great view from our rooms on the central square with a bell tower, the same tower was a menace in the morning starting from 8 AM. However, it was bearable with the windows closed.
Lovely little hotel in the centre of Salon-de-Provence. We had a very pleasent stay at the hotel. The owners of the hotel where vere helpfully. We can only give our best recommendations, everything were neat and clean.
The room was a great value. The air conditioning is crucial in the summer months, and we slept very well. We also found it handy to be in the center of town with many shops and restaruants convenient to us. The managers were very helpful to use, too. I would say that the lobby area is a little tired looking. In general, the hotel has a bit of a well-worn look. Parking is tricky also. It would have been helpful to get an e-mail in advance with more instructions on the parking along with the local map that we received upon arrival.
the positive approach of the owners of the hotel, young and very sympatic people.
It's location in the countryside, although one must have a car to get to it. No.
The only negatives were trying to find the hotel and their constant watering of the lawn/flowers. Even with my GPS, I had to call the hotel and get directions...once I found it and entered the GPS location in my GPS, it was fine. But trying to find it the first time was extremely difficult. As for watering, we had to run a gauntlet of water sprinklers, both during the day and at night (without lights). It was almost impossible to get to the room without getting wet. However, having said that, it was worth it to be in a quite and very nice place.
Beautiful place to stay, friendly and calm, nice and peaceful hotel park and surroundings. Very good restaurant in place. Dog friendly. In the restaurant unfortunately not as customer friendly as it could be. One shift was more or less aphatetic and not customer friendly, but the second shift next day was perfect...
The pool was heated and usable when finally cleaned Room was dirty old, dated. Tv did not work. Hair dryer was duct taped together and didn't work.Dingy old rooms not expected for the price.charged. Wrost hotel in 30 days. Photos lied and didn't show 60's style hotel and taliked about restored farmhouse which is onlythe restaurant.
We very much enjoyed our stay and the hotel. The staff knew very little English which was frustrating but they live in France not America so whqt can one expect. Everyone was very nice, though.
It met all of our travelling needs and was particularily convenient for transportation.
Excellent position for touring Provence. The owner does not speak English, but neither do many people in the region (and why should they). This forced me to try to improve my French. Good value for what you pay.
Nothing Did not have internet as advertised, though that it was 3 star and was somewhere between 1 and 2
kind and pleasant stuff, nice ambient very small bathroom
Noise in front all night long. No parking places one mile around. I reserved it in April with conformation e-mail for two nights in June and they kicked me out after first night. Never saw anything like that!
Friendly staff, good location, availability of the parking No elevator. If you have a lot of or heavy luggage staying on the 3rd floor is a bit of hassle :-)
spacious, clean, free parking on street, courteous staff
Our staying at the Hotel de Provence was very charming and nice. The room was clean and spacious.
It was a very pleasant surprise to discover the very clean room and comfortable bed. For a transit stop it sure deserved every euro spent !! You can park in the front of the hotel, well done for that !! None
The location in Boulevard Foch was amazing. Near the bus station. Walls are too thin, we could hear the neighbors very clearly
The personal including the owner were very friendly. The breakfast was in top and the informations about the region were very good.Very easy to find and close to the airport when you arrive late.I can recommend this to a very reasonable price.
This hotel was clean but still had an extremely stale smell. The cleaning staff seemed to be doing a good job for the property they were faced with. This was an extremely depressing hotel. The room was not well-lit, was extremely small, and had very few amenities. The bathroom was also very small and the shower got at least half the bathroom floor wet when used. Although there was a heater and a thermostat, we could not make it work. There were no extra pillows and no extra blanket and both which were on the bed were very small. The one staff person we encountered was nice enough but spoke only French and, unlike other persons we met in Provence, did not attempt to understand what we were saying. Anyone who stays here should be aware that they will not be able to communicate at all unless they speak French. We have a couple of languages so we are almost always ok in other countries
Room was very small and the bathroom was even smaller.
Easy to locate. Clean and comfortable accomadation. Breakfast was better than most budget priced hotels.
A little difficult to find - it was not on our GPS. Pleasant welcome. Felt secure.
There is nothing special to appreciate about this hotel. It is good just if you want to' take a break bit. Just as a Motel and not as Hotel. The position is really far from anyting interesting, the infrastructure is Made of premade aluminum modules covered by drywalls and really cheap the furnitures. The price is really inappropriate compared to the quality.
World-standard non-expensive hotel, conveniently located to travel in Provence by car. Free wi-fi did not work normally. Isolated location, so that add to the price 7 euro per person for breakfast.
